Even after the updates, the mic option still cuts off too early. I suggest you make it manual. If the user taps the mic button, they can speak their heart out, take long pauses to formulate ideas mid-sentence, and once they are done, they can tap the send button to prompt the AI. This guarantees 100% that there won't be mishaps, and the feature will be incredibly more useful overnight.

Yeah I sent a similar suggestion about that, it's very annoying mainly when you speak too much and a little bit slow (like me) I would like it in the live mode too because it doesn't let me finish my expression 😭😂😂😂😂
Chatgpt has a function like you are saying, you touch the button and say whatever you want and when you finish your long speech you tap "send it" or "show transcription", it's very useful I like it, I would like it in Gemini app because I use more Gemini than chatgpt I don't like the limitations that have chatgpt, with Gemini I can create like a thousand of gems different for free but chatgpt has a very basic function only for premium users 😒

Why not implement it like on AI Studio? Where the AI processes the speech within a few seconds and then outputs a clean transcript? Please make this a priority for your team! The speech-to-text in Gemini is super bad!
