Aztec Pyramid In Orbit

slim pivot
#

oh boy

past obsidian
#

i dont even know anymore

slim pivot
#

it's all the Kerbin discoverables squished into one

past obsidian
#

LOL

quick wagon
slim pivot
#

lmao

#

btw it's not that you're falling from the discoverables, this means that something got fucked up with their positioning and they are just placed at (0, 0, 0) in the world

past obsidian
#

so weird

slim pivot
#

the way the game works is that it basically keeps shifting the world origin point around your rocket

past obsidian
#

i can see a fuckton of exceptions related to rendering

#

yes i know

#

i watched several videos about it

#

its to avoid floating point right

slim pivot
#

yep

past obsidian
#

so basically theres an absurd amount of

#

errors

#

like

#

a RIDICULOUS amount

#

my game is SO fucked

quick wagon
#

Perfect for QA testing

past obsidian
#

i think its a mix of my

#

dogshit rig

#

and it might be an unstable install

#

i'm really not sure

#

because i dont know how i keep getting these weird bugs

hexed snow
#

holy shit wtf 😭

#

ksp2 really said "fuck this guy in particular"

slim pivot
#

yeah, that's the cause of all of these "something is following your rocket everywhere" bugs

#

it happens when something goes wrong with parenting or positioning the objects properly and they just default to 0,0,0

#

then you see them periodically "teleporting to you", because the 0,0,0 point periodically shifts to where the active vessel is

inland flame
#

Like the KSC-
Fun
But usually they don't move, so why the debris fpassing by during descents?

slim pivot
#

do you have an example?

#

not sure what exactly that refers to

inland flame
slim pivot
#

oh that's exactly the same thing as in this bug report

#

the only reason why there's more movement is because you're decelerating, while in the video in the OP, the rocket is at rest

inland flame
#

oh

#

I didn't think the rocket's position would move if the world revolves around it-

#

So it's just in a sphere around 0 0?

slim pivot
#

basically, yes, there's like a speed and distance treshold after which it shifts, it's not continuous

inland flame
#

Mmm, that's pretty smart

#

Definitely the solution to avoiding impossible coordinates and glitchy renders

#

Especially when your units are 1:1 meters... And you're messing with interstellar travel...

past obsidian
#

they dont want you to find their secrets

ashen reef
#

oh my god it's like my redux editor but 10x worse

#

summary is my branch in our build is entirely fucked up that I get very random errors every now and then

#

@slim pivot has heard me crash out over it too many times klueless

neon scarab
#

KSP2 is a very stable game with no problems what so everklueless

# inland flame

This is. Shockingly... A GREAT Idea for planet entry concept...

#

kinda like trying to enter a planet's ring or smt

#

but probably make the balls bigger or more noticable for dodging

#

or make a part designed to push em out fo the way or smt

cursive robin
#

Are you using integrated graphics?

slim pivot
past obsidian
slim pivot
#

omg I'm actually blind

#

don't mind me, I'm running on 3 hours of sleep klueless

past obsidian
#

if you really want the save i can dig up the save file probably

#

if i didn't overwrite it

slim pivot
#

that makes it very hard to debug nooooooooo

slim pivot
past obsidian
#

shrug

slim pivot
#

it tells me what went wrong

#

but no clue why

#

or how

past obsidian
#

i had a similar bug yesterday

#

the smoke cloud on the launchpad followed me everywhere

#

persisted too
