Since i am already working on getting parts inspired by them into the game i want to begin work on a detailed full replica of Stoke's roket as soon as my current mod is released.

"It is a two-stage vertical takeoff and vertical landing (VTOVL) vehicle, similar in principle to the Falcon 9’s first stage. Built from stainless steel, when fully stacked the vehicle will stand 30 meters tall and have a diameter of 4 meters.

Stage 1
The first stage of Stoke’s rocket will run on liquid methane (CH4) instead of LH2 due to it being more cost-effective. To further help this goal, the first stage’s engines will use the full flow staged combustion cycle, which allows for high chamber pressure and lower temperatures. This is ideal for reuse.

The first stage features a taper in its upper quarter, increasing its diameter up to the interface with the second stage. This helps during descent and landing as it moves the center of pressure downstream — that is, closer to the top of the stage — and increases the drag coefficient.

Second Stage
Stoke’s rocket’s second stage is designed with versatility in mind: it has the uncommon ability to acquire assets on orbit and bring them back to Earth, making it possible to deploy and move spacecraft around on orbit. Using a ballistic trajectory, the second stage is designed with a capsule-style reentry — the shape of the second stage is similar to a traditional capsule, with a tapered design from the base to the top — allowing for a precise landing. The engine on the second stage is capable of deep throttling, giving it the ability to perform a reentry burn and a terminal descent with a propulsive landing. Below its heat shield, the second stage is equipped with various systems such as turbo machinery, valves, pressuring bottles, avionics, and controls."

first draft of the stoke space rocket... real life it will be 4 meters in diameter but i decided to scale it down to 3.75m 2.5m in diameter to make its parts more compatible with stock parts

#

this parts pack will include 8 parts

the first stage with 7 methalox engines
radial surface attachable first stage legs that fit any 3.75m 2.5m fuel tank
a special decoupler for the second stage
the second stage fuel tank
the active cooled heatshield of the second stage with it's 30 liquid hydrogen bleed cycle engines
radial surface attachable landing legs for the second stage
special fairing for the second stage
stoke space syled surface attachable rcs thrusters

just so you know, most if not all real life-inspired parts are scaled down to ~0.625x, so 2.5m would be perfect size for this

there's some sort of math behind it where you get to basically the best possible scaling for the stock balancing

#

though I can't tell you exactly how 😆

trim turret
#

scaling it down by dividing all dimensions by 1.5 is easy... though

I mean, it probably won't kill anyone's computer to have slightly higher side count for the smaller size

#

it's just a recommendation, really

alright everything redone with 36 faces and 2.5m diameter

aaand now i'm getting some sleep. this project is currently in thrid position and only being worked on in spare time
