It's in the game, just disabled. Probably because the visuals are buggy. I hope it will be fixed and enabled in the near future.
A quick mod would just be a button to enable the built in ,but flawed, visuals.

Thanks for the feedback. In ksp1 there was a keyboard shortcut for that. Is a key combi in the game ?
