Micro Engineer 1.5.0

https://spacedock.info/mod/3282/Micro Engineer (or CKAN)

  • now supports 0.1.5 patch
  • added years to time entries (1 year = 426 Kerbin days, 1 Kerbin day = 6 hours)
  • changed OAB Stage Info header "SLT" (Sea Level TWR) to "ASL TWR" for clarity
  • now possible to disable the keybind (CTRL + E) or to change it; look for the option in Settings -> Mods  --requested by @lapis basalt
  • message subscriptions are now persistent, meaning Micro Engineer will continue to function through exiting to the main menu and loading a different campaign
  • fixed Total ASL deltav in OAB Stage Info window not updating if different celestial bodies are selected  -- reported by @shrewd bloom

I've got another bug for you. KSP2 doesn't allow engine clipping. But but the VAB and micro engineer show TWR as if engines aren't clipped.

I don't think any sort of similar mods for KSP1 ever calculated whether engines are occluded or not, either

#

so that seems way out of scope for sure

Yeah, I'm just reporting it because it turns out the base game is also calculating it wrong with clipped parts.

wraith canyon
#

yeah, I imagine that's because it's most likely a bug that clipped engines don't work

#

you may want to report that on the forums

# wraith canyon you may want to report that on the forums

I did. Built a craft this morning with clipped mammoths, and the TWR readout in the VAB shows 2.88. Didnt launch, though, so I reported it. It is a bug in the calculation of TWR, even though we all agree that clipped engines should be allowed.

I wouldn't call it a bug in dV/TWR calculation, since the engines you have do give those stats

#

it would probably not be great for performance to do constant occlusion checks in the VAB

#

if anything, it's a bug with the clipping

shrewd bloom

Well, its a bug somewhere that allows for clipping and displays the wrong twr in the vab.

Hello there, I just wanted to let you know that we're now archiving this forum due to it being redundant, and all mod threads should now be moved to #1078701690762571866. Ideally, to make navigation between old and new threads as smooth as possible, the last message in this thread should contain a link to the new thread, and the first message in the new thread should contain a link to this one. Thanks for understanding! @high pumice (There is a possibility a thread for this mod may already exist in #1078701690762571866, please check first before making a new one!)
