so today i kinda tested the waters with one friend group of mine. basically i asked what they would do if one of us was trans, and they said that gender should not change how we see one another. so yay!

thing is, our moms are best friends. and they’re both transphobic.

so, i’m debating whether i should come out to this friend group or not. they’ll be supportive, but if this becomes known to our moms, let’s just say im kinda cooked 🫡

i know the first answer that would come into anybody’s mind is to tell them not to tell our parents, but i don’t know how well they’d keep the secret. it could slip up at any moment and im wondering if not telling them at all is better than putting that risk for myself.

any thoughts?

you could just take it slowly and one at a time, you don’t have to come out to everyone at once. if you know one of them is really good at keeping secrets maybe come out to them first

If you want to I would do it but tell them to try and avoid mentioning it with their parents
