how are people bi and pan? /gen

this is a genuine question– i myself am bisexual, but i've seen people that say they are bi and pan. i have no balls (literally lol) to ask any of them.

Bi and pan are pretty similar, to the point where I’m bi and even I forget what the difference is half the time

Bisexual is when you have a preference
Pansexual is when you don’t.

bi is technically an umbrella term for being attracte to 2 or more genders

pan is when you have the ability to be attracted to anybody regardless of their gender

i guess somebody who might identify with both is somebody who might feel like both labels fit but both equally
which is valid cause sexuality can be super confusing and complicated sometimes

also i'd say having a preference isn't exactly a determining factor, as a woman who's bi might be attracted to both men and women but have a preference for women cause a lot of cishet men aren't super great to women

but she's still bi even if she were to prefer women over men and maybe rarely is with men

and i say this as somebody who uses the label of pan because gender has no role in who i am/can be attracted to

only personality does (because i'm demisexual and demiromantic)
