The change isn’t really made to invalidate any form of content, it just means you won’t be forced to do said content if you don’t want to

If you do one covenant and max them out then switch to another covenant, your renown and upgrades and progress will remain the same for whenever you go back to that covenant but you have to start fresh with the new one

It looks to be addons called “DataStore” and “Slidebar”. Now you may not remember downloading these exact addons, it could be because they are dependent for another addon. Whenever you’re not too sure where errors are coming from, I always recommend disabling all addons and reloading each of them one by one until you can isolate them

Play retail/Shadowlands. Make a character, start in the Exile's Reach tutorial zone, and pay attention to tutorials and questing. By default you'll level in the previous expansion Battle for Azeroth content, and then at 50 you go level in Shadowlands content if you own that. Catch up to the current patch, look up a guide for whatever class and spec you settle on and whatever else you need help with on wowhead, and basically just read everything
Once you're caught up to playing current patch and endgame content, feel free to backtrack and do as much of anything else as you want

Each faction tends to have a shared questing hub location, yes, but this is irrelevant information for you at the moment. Make a character, pay attention to questing and tutorials, and when you get to your faction's capital city for the first time ignore everything that isn't a tutorial quest given to you or else you're going to get lost--from there the tutorial questing will take you where you need to go to level from 10-50

You can get back to Argus by either using your dalaran hearthstone and taking the lightforged portal from Krasus landing, or taking the portal to azuna from your main cities portal room and flying to dalaran

Hey, I installed an addon (Retail) that added an option to create notes ingame - never used it, so I uninstalled it.
The font for my letters (as in the ones you get in the mail) changed from Morpheus to something else. There is no "Fonts" folder to be found where an obvious change would be and I haven't found a way to fix it.

You can, but realistically buying gametime for gold isn't easily done without some initial time and knowledge investment. Realistically, a new player can't expect to afford a wow token within their first 3-4 months

You could do rated arenas too if that is your thing
You will have a better chance at finding games if you do rated than to sit in lfg and wait for it to pop
But if you dont have any exp in rated, just stick to normal until you learn more
