For starters, go back to Kul Tiras and don't pick up any more breadcrumb quests for old expansions. Kul Tiras (where you met Jaina's mom) and the rest of the Battle for Azeroth content (BfA being the previous expansion before the current one, Shadowlands) is the default leveling zone from levels 10-50 for new players

The capital cities for each faction are basically where you start the questing for all of the different expansions and lead you to that content. As a new player, none of that is a concern for you until you start exploring old content. You should stick to questing in Kul Tiras for now while you learn the game, your class, and level to 50

There's a reason why the tutorial questing once you left Exile's Reach took you to Kul Tiras after getting to Stormwind--because that's where you're supposed to be right now

There's no harm in making a new character to play through Exile's Reach again. Read through that World of Warcraft for new players guide to cover the basics of what to expect, then pay close attention to all of the tutorial windows and quests that teach you the fundamentals of gameplay

@kindred elk My last advice before trying to go back to sleep is to avoid playing on a "new player" realm. If you select a realm that has a high-full pop you'll not only find more people to play with, but also have a better economy and access to larger communities than you would on a new player or low pop realm. As an added thing, look up the realm on wowprogress.com to see the overall faction population--if you're interested in playing both factions you want one with a relatively balanced population, and if your faction pop is too low it can be really difficult to find people for group content

Wyrmrest Accord. It's a North American RP/PvE realm. It has a relatively balanced faction population, a high-full server pop, and even if you're not a roleplayer it has an excellent community and many different guilds and groups that do multiple forms of competitive endgame content

Nobody probably answered you because you're asking the wrong question. If you mean how do you unlock the covenant assaults in the Maw, they become available after you unlock Korthia and have settled the Keeper's Respite. You'll even get a quest from Bolvar Fordragon to take part in a covenant assault within the Maw

No, it's not included in the skip. You have to still actually do things in Korthia regardless of whether or not you skip--like accept the quest from Bolvar to join an assault

It also contributes towards the weekly Shaping Fate quest from Tal-Galan--one of your two sources of gaining renown in current content

you can do that in shadowlands onwards,usually the leveling experience in past expacs is just "do all the quests" for the most part
