Forgot that accursed place even exists
Im gonna make a new char to level for shadowlands, i played guardian druid in bfa, should i make another one or level a protection warrior?
Will be leveling solo mostly other than dungeons
mostly played druid and mages and shamans
Go with what you want, class balance is great atm. Check out legendaries and whatnot to get an idea - Guardian especially is in a good spot cause of Ursocs Fury
Warrior has the issue where BiS covenant for Prot is different to BiS for Arms/Fury, then again going a 2nd best covenant won't be an issue in most levels of play
is there anyway to use blizzard balance to buy 6 month sub?
can someone help me out here? Ember Court Barrier is sold in Elysian hold and im wondering why that is like wowhead literally says that and since im Venthyr i cant go there
@azure reef
Elysian hold is for kyrian only @winter saddle
I guess that's a kyrian locked transmog
well its a venthyr shield this makes no sense
Dumb question, but if your playing a race that can heal, and the best loot drops are from dungeons/raids. What do you need gold for?
(I’ve been playing 3 days)
idk man, most things except gear i guess
stuff from the Auction House including gems you can socket into gear, potions for stats or health/mana, other consumables, gear from the AH aswell, fair few things
also ingame expenses like repairing your gear
Raiding Consumables will eat up your gold in no time
Even m+ consumables add up- every hour is 500-700 gold on a flask plus 100 gold on food, then you slap in health; mana; invis potions
The trainer is in the village you are in
A lot of stuff( consumables, legendary base pieces, rare items, mounts, etc) Mostly everything is collectable a way, and if you dont wanna buy it with gold you can just craft/collect it from the world, but they might have different drop chances.
There are some items on the ah that are not obtainable anymore, or tied to an event, so you might not can farm them rn
Do you mean Class?
No
Dang, dunno what I'm smoking then
Dunno if that accounts for renown catchup from just the covenant campaign? Campaign gets you mid 30s or so by itself
Weekly torghast rewards renown aswell
But that’s the only new source outside of the korthia weekly and chains campaign
Really? That is interesting, never thought they would add thorgast as a renown option
Ye it was added very recently, just a lil extra renown for new players/alts to catchup
tho i think you can only get 1 renown per wing/weekly
Someone mind explaining to me how I can get to the “New” Dalaran? I want to go there so I can pick up a piece of paper for a mount but I have been having a difficult time with finding info on how I can get there. I have a Horde character.
Do the Legion intro
use the azshara portal
Thank you
and fly there
Appreciate the help
Once you’ve done the legion intro you’re given a hearthstone that sends you to legion dalaran
Useful to get to dalaran or you’re major city since there’s a portal for each factions hub there
Sweet, thanks for all the help
man i didnt know that, sounds convenient if your hs is stuck in shadowlands
Yep that’s what I use my dalaran hs for
Basically a hearthstone for the orgrimmar portal room
u still get renown on heroics right?
and lfr
I haven’t tried lfr tho I’m pretty sure the renown still drops, and ye I was getting renown from heroics on my alt yesterday
just you cant do the plaguefall thing anymore is all
Ye but half the time you end up with a geared player farming renown or helping a friend so you still clear them very fast
Literally
I ran a few for renown and a tiny bit of gear, but I’m 190 on my brew so I just went straight into mythics
yeah, the way gearing is you can kinda just skip normal/heroic and go straight to mythic
i kidna dig it
Ye I don’t mind it, easy gear and for newer players it gets them into proper endgame quicker
the like 15 hours mandatory questing at lvl 60 is annoying for alts tho imo
I think I got both my new characters to 60 in like 2 days
But idk how long it took me for each
Maybe an hour per level
the levelling questing is equal to lonly double the time you spend stuck in covenant/korthia campaigns lol
Oh ye the questing to unlock mounts in the maw and doing the Valkyrie stuff is annoying
Should be able to skip that and get to the proper chains campaign on alts
like 15-20 hours to 50, 10 tops till 60. then like 15 hours of covenant/korthia campaigns :(
Wouldn’t say 15 for cov and korthia stuff
takes me about ten for covenant
Depends if you have flying and how geared you are
then korthia and fucking around with a few dailies and torghast is like 5 ish
I did 4 chapters of my cov campaign very quickly, maybe 20-30 min per chapter
man dats fast
But that was on my paladin who had flying and 220 gear so killing everything was easy
yeah fair
ive been doing it like 170 ish, then just sort out gear after cos it gives you 197s
Just mass pulled and got a quest done in a single pull lol
I’ve gotta do the cov campaign for both hunter and brew but ima get them gear first
prot pally questing is genuinely the most fun ive had in the game
how do ya get gear before covenant campaign anyways?
Legit, tho I mainly play Ret now, originally was a prot paladin main at the start 9.0
for me ive just gotten to 60, few cheap BoEs, then just after covenant questline upgrade everything to 197s
next char i should rly gear up before the cov quests
I just buy 200ilv gear soon as I reach 60
500-2k per piece
Tho if you want a 230 item it’s like 5k for that
But you’ll use it for a long time if it ain’t ur lego so it’s worth
ive just kinda done some 160-180 or whatever BoEs and a 230, then wait till covenant questline done for 197s
Fairs
imma do it ur way, gear before cov questline sounds nice
im tryna play wow less else my hunter and druid would be geared 60s too 😔
Rip, once I’ve done some stuff on my hunter and brew that’ll be 5 pretty well geared characters with max renown
I don’t have anything else to do besides work a few hours at the weekend so
Might aswell sweat the game and have some fun with alts
yeah makes sense
ive only rly got a bit of school atm, but according to my brother treating this game like a fulltime job when my final exams are in like 2 months is a bad idea
unrealistic
Ye put the studying before the game
:(
Not like the patch is going away anytime soon
yeah fair
9 months of 9.0 right?
kinda curious about what 9.1 will end up being
7-8 I think?
wild
It wasn’t that long tbh, only 1-2 month longer than usual
is there anyway to use blizzard balance to buy 6 month sub?
Anyone have problem with legion content loading screen? I used ssd for wow,but the problem is when i play legion expan loading screen so long
For me it only does it when using the portals in suramar
Never had long loading screens anywhere else in legion
once i switched to an ssd i never saw any loading screen for more than 10-15 seconds which is already quite long tbh
Every loading screen is only a few seconds but for whatever reason taking the portals in suramar gives me like 30s-1min loading screens
This only happen on legion, when i die or go use hearstone took long loading screen

Someone help me please
I can still login on blizzard with the same credentials I'm putting on here and it won't let me in.
Do you have an authenticator of some sorts?
Perhaps you have to check your email, text, whatever you used for that second layer of security behind your account @cursive cape
Yeah already verified it
do we got any macrohackers here that can tell me if this macro is goin to work!
#showtooltip Counterspell
/cast [mod:alt,@player] [@mouseover,exists,help] Remove Curse ; [@mouseover,exists,harm] [harm] Counterspell
yes but help and harm imply exists
i suggest taking exists out and using nodead on the mouseover ones so you don't have a dead unit interfere
Normally when stuff that can be interacted with, is highlighted in white, but now its jjst slightly sparkly. Can I change that somehow?
i think it's called outline mode, lower right dropdown in the graphics settings
@neon cedar Thank you, did a full ui reset today, completely forgot.
so i dont need the help/harm either? 🙂
you do
oh >.< i get it now!
#showtooltip Counterspell
/cast [mod:alt,@player] [@mouseover,help,nodead] Remove Curse ; [@mouseover,exists,harm,nodead] [harm,nodead] counterspell
like dead 🙂
like that* (i wrote to many dead>.<)
thanks alot dude!
Do races matter for classes
Because I made a blood elf priest
And idk if that’s good
And for tbc
Yeah because I play tbc
belfs get a dispell and mana regen with is pretty good
It’s good for paladins right
think its the best race horde side, or very close
ye
well its the only race on horde that can play paladin
Tauren as well right
oh ye lel
What’s a good profession for paladin?
uhhhh idk too much about professions in tbc tbh
Ow aye
No, that's not until cata
bouta say never seen a tauren pala in tbc
Recommended ilvl new raid on normal?
218-220
Ow really
Yes
Damn
thats a lil high, we are on sylvanas and 90% of our group is 210
to each their own
obv the higher ilv the easier it is, but not worth going into if ur around 226
is there an lfg for newer players?
^^
can someone help me more about the Apexis crystals in SL atm?
is there anyway to use blizzard balance to buy 6 month sub?
Find "game time " in the store
There is no apexis cristal in sl
What is the actual name of the currency you are trying to refer to?
i haven’t played wow in about 6 months and currently looking to pick up tanking to get back into the game. does anyone here who mains tank suggest a good tank that is relatively tanky and can provide higher dps with big pulling potential?
It is relatively the same as it was 6 months ago, tanks didnt get really changed in 9.1
i heard that guardian druid was meta for once
I dont really follow the meta, but if you dont plan on doing really high keys, or mythic raids it doesnt really matter
Tanks are fairly balanced rn
But yeah guardian is good
i just want a fun tank with some high pull potential and higher dps then most tanks
Fun is subjective, but i like gdurid and prot pala, both of these can pull big, not sure about the dmg
is prot pally doing alright dps?
Surely, if it wouldnt i wouldnt see it in m+
Warrior
cheers boys
@polar wasp not the 6 month, requires you to use a credit card for that one
i got ksm on my main
can i upgrade to the max ilvl in alts?
or is it not account wide
ik the rating isnt but are the upgrades?
buy 3month game time twice
So what do you need help with?
Is this game worth it ?
yes
did they cap the amount of razorwing eggs that drop per day to 1? I've been farming for 1 hour and not a single egg
It's rng based
if i started playing my character just recently on Retail/normal WOW, what version of wow am I playing on? there are so many expansions, versions and names, very confusing
You're playing Retail
im looking for some profession leveling guides but there are so many different ones for every version or expansion
so retail = "vanilla" in this case i am guessing
so out of guides named Vanilla, Outland, Northrend, Cataclysm, Pandaria, Draenor, Legion and BfA (Battle for Azeroth?), which one should I pick for my new retail character?
Neither
You'd pick Shadowlands.
because that is the latest iteration? I am new to the game so im not sure how it works, if you start with "vanilla" and the progress through all the expansions, or are they all just mashed up into one big world now
They're split per expansion so you don't need to waste your time doing old content nobody cares about
i saw that i know something called Cataclysm Leatherworking and cooking, are those branches of the Leatherworking "Tree" then? like each profession tree has one branch for each expansion
Yes. World of warcraft gets major content in Expansion Packs. Each named different from another.
Vanilla was WoW from 2004 to 2007.
TBC (The Burning Crusade) was WoW from 2007 to 2009.
Wrath of the Lich King was WoW from 2009 to 2010.
Cataclysm was WoW from 2010 to 2012.
Mists of Pandaria was WoW from 2012 to 2014.
Warlords of Draenor was WoW from 2014 to 2016.
Legion was WoW from 2016 to 2018.
Battle for Azeroth was WoW from 2018 to 2020.
And Shadowlands is now 'till most likely 2022.
The branches you're talking about are remnants of "Old World" professions. You can do it for the crafts or items you unlock with it but generally speaking you'd just need Shadowlands as of now.
allright so they each contain some different armors, or foods etc. in them
Right.
Ye
thanks! it's a bit clearer now
coming in to this game after 17 years is a bit much
played TBC a lot and feel like i learned the basics but the retail version seems very different
i have one character on each and still trying to decide which version to invest my time in
but then again, why stick to only one version
Because one version is basically outdated by the newer ones @wooden kettle
the latest content and the best gear and whatnot are only found in the current expansion
if you'd rather relive older expansions, play WoW Classic
which I believe is currently on TBC?
The stuff you get from the "Old World Professions" don't benefit your character.
It's not. Trust me. I killed 50 mobs yesterday after logging in to do the assault. No egg
I guess I'm just lucky on my first eggs then. :D
yeah i guess so, the TBC seems a bit more "hardcore" whereas in the retail version, things are thrown at you at every corner but then again it contains a lot more stuff so it makes sense
by "things" i mean gold and loot
TBC is easier but also more cumbersome
i think for the mean time i will just hang out in Durotar and do some quests there and work on my professions a bit and get the hang of the game before venturing further. 75% of the fun is to discover things for yourself after all (at least for me)
but it's always nice to have a guide when the XP or leveling slows down
Go for it, learning by doing it is.
thanks for the help everyone
No problem, if you get stuck or need more help just come back here and ask.
I asked around and it seems like you should easily get both eggs per day within 30 minutes easily. I'll just come back tomorrow and get the razorwing mount then.
Does the covenant storyline not provide players with reputation?
So far, I haven’t received a lick of it.
Reputation with?
For my marksman hunter, what's the latest expansion I can solo raids for transmogs? Legion?
Your chosen covenant.
Yeah probably
Are transmogs cross-realm?
They're account bound
@keen pewter thanks
You uh get a lot of rep by doing basically anything so idk
Gucci, thanks
Eh. Not very well until the end of Slands.
The scaling has been wonky since the lvl squish
hello guys which one is better for destruction warlock ? my talent build is cleave
Sim it
sim it?
yes, do that
how would one "sim it"?
idont undrestand what is sim :/
it's mathematical process that simulates your damage based on gear equipped
omg :/ tell that sooner
👀
That’s uh not my question.
@polar wasp then I don't get the mount and the imp
sub and assa are singletarget (assa currently the stronger one) and outlaw is Multitarget Damage
to be more specific: appearently assa is currently the strongest dps spec in the game directly followed by sub
@polar wasp that's more money lol
Just annoying that I can't use my blizzard balance that I loaded onto my account for the game time
ok thanks
you can buy gametime
just not a sub
since that would require a constant stream of money which is not guaranteed via balance. sure it could just run for as long as you have balance but i see why they would decide against that
@hasty spear just annoying that I loaded $300 on my account and can't use it for gametime, and I always own everything else on bnet
why did you do that? - it's cheaper if you sub for the 6months game time o.O
^^^^^
well you shouldnt have loaded 300$ on there
bad decision dude. cant help. all you can do is to try blizz support, refund that shit and then pay sub like a normal person does
@short frost I thought I could do 6 months with balance
but you cant
lol
Used to always just have the recurring monthly
And already own every other blizzard and Activision game and almost every pet and mount lol
I guess you can still get the 3 months packs for a bit more before sitting on wasted 300$ balance
unless you plan to get one of their third party titles in the future
I will just do the 6 month thing and get the $25 mount included lol
lol
That's the problem lol, I already got everything including d2r pre-ordered
see I keep getting free months from RAF - I'm sitting on gametime banked until August 22
And Activision games too
Yeah I did that with my 2nd account and got all the rewards
And stopped paying for 2nd sub after that
Hello 👋🏻 I’m trying to wrap my head around wow again. Haven’t played for a really really long time. I don’t even know what version I need?
Yeah idk how to find new players lol
When you install wow it is gonna download the newest version onto your computer
Or if you have then just update
I actually find them on twitch in the 0 viewer sections .. if I see Exiles Reach in preview I tune in and help them start
I used to play before the extra stuff came out. I saw a wow classic there, but I think that’s different?
yes
It is differen
And honestly don't have the time to look for them, I'm at work for 12+ hours a day 5 days a week so I would rather just pay the $13 a month
t
classic and retail are 2 different games
Retail? 👀
yeah - I'm not doing it for the free game time - it's just a fun thing to do in my free time
That’s about my vintage
Oh ok..
but I recommend to try retail wow and play that
you can play it for free until level 20 and see if you enjoy it
with game time you get access to level 50 and all but the latest expansions
Shadowlands unlocks level 60 and is 40$ iirc
I have characters from back in the day, I think there were maybe level 60? I can’t remember honestly
If they were level 60 then they will only be like level 20 now due to the level squish
Oh damn 😂😂😂
Cause 120 levels got a bit out of hand lel
Having to wait 15 levels for a new ability or talent suckkkked
Levelling is so much nicer and streamlined now
Yeah, ok so I need to get it downloaded so I can log in and see what I’ve got maybe
Hi Guys, I want to get started at WoW, any guides?
so is there a recommended item level for korthia or no. theres just certain mobs that destroy me :/
probably 200+
my paladin was 205 when they went to korthia and were fine tho they killed stuff kinda slowly
I would say around 190 since korthia gear is usually 200+ which kinda acts as catch up gear. You can find tokens for those items in chests around korthia or you can buy them for some stygia i think
what is a garnision and how do i get one
Why do you ask? Its past expansion content. Usually useless currently except for some specific things
Garrison is from WoD isnt it?
You get the garrison by playing the intro questline for Warlords of Draenor
^
thx is it long or can i rush it fast
like literal one shots
because you outlevel everything in WoD by a significant amount
now i just need to find out where i can accept the quest
what missive should i use on fire mage?
Are you on an alt @umbral plaza
my main
You cant do it on a main
oh fk
I mean you can travel there yourself
to WoD that is
you don't need chromie to start
No
You do not need chromie for any quest that is still available for your class and whatnot @umbral plaza
Chromie only serves to help the leveling process but it does not lock you out of quests if you dont talk to her
Having trouble getting back my xp from Slahtz. I pay the 10G but xp does not come back. Tried to go in and out of Ragefire with no effect. ne1 found a solution?
i reached renown 54 can i get more renown this week ?
Hello, I try to do the achievement ready for war (horde campaign). I have done 4/8 chapters, I can't find how to start the quest marshal's grave I have look on google he send me to tertrebois cemetery but the pnj is not there. So what do I have to do ? : 3 (sorry for my english it's not my native language)
54 is the max for this week
Doesn't it usually increase with reset which is in a day or two
Having trouble getting back my xp from Slahtz. I pay the 10G but xp does not come back. Tried to go in and out of Ragefire with no effect. ne1 found a solution?
NA reset was today
You can actually. If you go to your factions board and get the iron horde quest, you can head to the Dark Portal, abandon the quest and then run thru the portal. You'll skip the intro and jump right to founding your garrison
Also rq, would any of yall have opinions about which race is best for lower levelled twinking?
probably just a lvl10 arc mage
What’s a good meta class ?
Depends on your gameplay: pvp, bg or arena, pve, raid, m+, dungeon
Nearly every class has a spec that’s a part of the meta
And ye it depends on content
And what role you want to play
Balancing is actually great atm
Besides like affliction warlock every spec is pretty good rn
I mean, BFA affliction could still do 18s which is above what most the playerbase would do
I think shadowlands affliction is around the same spot
And choosing the meta is dumb anyway if you aren’t a top tier raider or pvp player because they will get nerfed or changed
I wanna do pvp and raids
Pretty sure meta rdps is boomkin specifically?
Top sustain single target yes
But yeah meta is meaningless outside of trying to get world first or smn
Going a spec you enjoy and do well at is heaps better than going some class that's meta for competitive mythic raiding or whatever
Here's aeguably the worst spec in the game
+20 is above what nearly all the playerbase will do
I’m new
So idk what any of that means
Like, "meta" isn't really a thing
Go what class and spec looks fun
^
Balance is great currently so you truly can't go wrong with any choice of class, race, spec
I just like to pvp
Oh ok
If you do some research on your class and figure out the build and rotation you’ll still clap players that don’t sweat over their class 😂😂
In pvp it matters more, but it's some really high end content where going a good vs bad race or spec is what decides a win or lose
Just go with what interests you, your best bet is going just what looks fun that you think you can play well
watch some gameplay of what specs interest you in dungeons (mythic plus), raids, pvp (arena 2v2 or 3v3 and rated battlegrounds)
I like warlocks
Demonology and destruction are both strong specs rn for warlocks
Demonology does insane single target in raids and destro is a a solid spec in pvp
I don’t see that I just see warlock
Each class has 2-4 versions of the class which are specialisations
For example a tank spec or a healer spec
But warlocks have 3 damage specs
2 of them are pretty good tho affliction is arguably the worst spec in the game rn
Though even as the worst spec in the game, it's still fine for pve content well above what the average player can do
I remember I played wow back when I was in 5th grade around in 2011
Warlock is nice, three damage specs but all have personality - got one based around demon minions, one based around damage over time effects, one more about direct damage with a shit ton of green fire
And I had to pay to get pass lvl 20
Yah still like that now
0-20 is free then you gotta sub to level higher
Oh I just paid for it
50-60 you need to buy shadowlands aswell
But yeah man id honestly just go with what class seems to the most fun
Can check out icyveins or wowhead or something to get the general jist of each spec a class offers
it says i need lvl 60 armor to do raids but my max level is 50 how would i get lvl 60 armor without buying shadowlands?
you gonna play it?
Ye ima buy it tomorrow I guess I bought the month subscription for the regular game
if you are talking about LFR this will not work
the queue will never pop
You don't
Raids are a 60 thing pretty much
Can't do endgame shadowlands content without buying shadowlands
If I’m new do I need shadowlands
I think he can probably see BfA's LFR at 50
Or is that end game type content
It's just levels 50-60 unlocked
Oh ok so I’m now where near that I’m still on picking my race
Buy it when you hit 50 of you like the game
Ok I will
What class and race did you pick @pallid fulcrum ?
Last expansion i did a night elf demon Hunter
Currently I main a troll priest, blood elf paladin alt
I know my class I’m tryna find a race lol
Pretty much doesn't matter
For pve it's like a 1% increase in dps which is irrelevant
Shaman looks cool also
Shaman is honestly the most aesthetic class in the game
With race just go with what is the most aesthetic to you. If you want to minmax, then go the race that is best for pvp as that's where it's somewhat relevant
Ye I was looking at the perks for the races
Orcs look good for pvp but they look ugly and fat
Can’t be a warlock with him
You pretty much have a passive ability for 1-2 percent dps increase, then an active ability which is the impactful part
Yeah
For PvP undead is usually good to break Crowd Control, troll does similar but as a passive not active ability
Ye I was looking at undead
The draining thing
"Touch of the grave" is, again, a 1% or so dps increase
At most
So yeah the race doesn't really matter so go for what just looks best to you. It only kinda sorta matters in pvp, so if you want to minmax I would do it based off of pvp
The balancing is fantastic - race is more or less irrelevant, all classes/specializations are good
what missives on legendarys should i use on fire mage?
Depends on your legendary
Stat priority differs depending on what legendary and cov you use
This page talks about the stats you want depending on your legendary etc
yeah i saw that but it doesnt say what missive you should use
You use the missives for the stats you prioritise
thats all missives are - stats
[missive of haste]
Missive of Haste - https://www.wowhead.com/item=173160/missive-of-haste - Live 9.1.0
For example
price wise theres relatively large differences between them, but nothing major enough you dont just stick to your stat priority
If you want as much haste/crit as possible for example get the massives of haste and critical strike
Hence why I linked the guide for your stat priority
also for a fair few classes theres often a difference for m+ and raids, so you can kinda go a halfway if you do both
also btw theres a class discord for mage
I just made a warrior and it won't lemme use abilities? any idea how to fix this bug (modern wow not classic)
And you need to purchase ability’s/ability ranks from class trainers
nah they said modern not classic
unless they mean the relatively modern classsic? idek anymore
Oh I misread lel
sounds odd
it also wouldnt let me craft looms
so idk kinda wack
did they change looms?
(i havent been subbed since legion)
Yep
They now focus more on making rested xp last longer than a flat xp bonus
Since levelling is a lot faster now
kinda just bridged the gap between having them and not having them
I see
also rested xp is kinda worth it now sometimes, if you have full looms
but yeah should be able to craft them as normal - right click in your collection journal?
im just trying wow again to see if i want to sub ornot. because the whole no updates fiasco im a bit cautious
this server really likes pandas lol
Best race ofc
ehh 9.0 was only like a month or two more than usual wanst it
Ye
i played a panda but disliked the mogs - no shoes, weird helms/shoulders
but the jump is cute as
i mean wow is literally not being worked on now so
I like no shoes and I never wear helmets anyway so
fair
Plus they cute asf
i either go fully body cover, or minimal yet classy
i just made my panda look like a farmer and called it a day
Not a bad mog idea tbf
but like yeah nah wow is in a good spot atm dont worry. balance is lovely, content is pretty alright and definitely could be worse
obvious flaws with it, but the worst parts of Shadowlands are better than the best parts of BFA lol
If anything the main issue is the power systems with conduits etc
Everything else is solid
i kinda hate how they implemented covenants
effectively just another talent row, yet its such a fuckin hassle to swap around
Ye
like covenant abilities themselves i like, but they just feel needlessly limiting
And you can suffer a lot if you don’t choose ur good covs
then the weird balancing of covenants
most dps and nearly all rdps have NF as bis
Or kyrian
so far im not impressed
idk theres some glaring issues with shadowlands, but the same can be said for any expansion
i would 100% take torghast and some dailies over the daily grind of BFA havin to do all ya quests, visions, reputation, that shit
like idk, shadowlands aint perfect but its pretty fuckin good honestly
the specs that are usually kinda shit like Feral and Affliction are still timing +20's
Feral is actually doing pretty good ST atleast
i kinda like it when feral aint shit
Just why go feral when balance is better in every way
such a weird spec tho - i have the strong opinion of "why play feral when you could just make a rogue"
Cause feral is cooler than rogue
same with "why play Survival Hunter when you could play any normal melee"
some people might enjoy it more
id take some dude stabbing shit over walking around as a kitty any day
Year of the spear
tbf i dont have much experience with Feral
BFA i played mainly on Moonguard
so i couldnt go Feral or Guardian
Looool
lmao
Based
like its one thing to fetishise midgets, but furries is going too far man
i have a very clear place i draw the line
went to horde and moving away from RP servers so i probably will try Vulpera and feral/guardian lmao
Or both!
i dont really have a problem with furries

its the people jacking off to animated cats sitting in the goldshire inn basement
Loool
man i really derailed this conversation
At least it ain’t real cats
that we know of

lmao
but like yeah nah
shadowlands is quite nice
the lore behind it is "how about we make Sylvanas commit some war crimes so she has an interesting character arc"
i can't find narcissus within the curseforge app
right, but it doesn't show on the web app
theres a web app?
thought everyone just installed from curseforge, or something that goes thru it like twitch
desktop-app* you can download and it will dump into your game folder
I use Ajour now over curseforge
but mine isn't showing narcissus
ah neat, i never knew that was a thing. im a stubborn idiot who installs everything manually lol
idk, can you update it or the mods it shows osmehow?
In curseforge it will show you if an update is needed and all you gotta do is click “update” and done
Does the same in Ajour but you gotta download the addons manually, but it’s allows more addons not available on curseforge and can manage addons like Elvui
Dont use that
Use Ajour or WoWup
Manually just so easy too >:(
but that means I gotta redo all my addons lol
No you don’t have to redo any addons
Getting rid of curseforge does nothing to your addons
Nope. Ajour and WoWup scan for your addons folder, catalogues them and then keeps them all uptodate
does ajour have it's own addon catalog like curseforge? where I can browse for new addons?
Id assume they all go thru curseforge right
Ajour and WoWup both scrape Curse, Wowinterface, WowUpHub and TukUI
Meaning, any WoW addon
nice
Nearly all, you find wow add-ons in the darndest of places
Ajour looks pretty dope
Quite a few options out there and only two seem bad
made a new char on mal ganis but it keeps disconnecting me a few seconds after i load in
that happen to anyone else?
never happened to me before but its my first char on malganis
once ur lvl 60 and decide to focus pvp. should you just grind pvp gear or wait
I’d recommend gearing a bit in pve and earn renown before hard focusing on pvp
what ilvl do you recommend
Hmm maybe around 210 atleast, which is pretty easy to get to with new gear
It’s just because of the removal of pvp scaling you’d most likely run into somewhat geared players which wouldn’t end well if ur new
yea for sure
Tho you can always try it and see how it goes
lol
honestly i think being more prepared would prolly be best
ty for the help again arch
Getting into PvP is a bit of a brick wall cause of pvp gear
Kinda just gotta go for weekly caps and a fair bit of waiting
That said PvP gear being brought back is amazing
Definitely
that was brought in with 9.1 right?>
Nah, 9.0
oh
PvP gear has existed for the entirety of WoW except last expansion
so someone said i could do 2s and rbgs for pvp gear and then hit korthia
Early PvP is just hitting conq cap then waiting a week, repeat a few times
but wouldnt that be bad bc pvp gear is good for pvp but not pve?
Ain't necessarily bad for PvP, just low ilvl so probably not best
ik but im saying the PvP gear isnt really good for PvE anymore
so if i grind for pvp gear and then do korthia which is pve wouldnt that be a struggle?
You wouldn’t struggle except for more high end content like the hc raid+
The gear is fine for pve
You can so Korthia in like 170 or so
Probably lower depending on spec
Low ilvl is only really a problem for pve in like m+ above +10
Even then, pvp gear isn't thattt bad for ilvl
ok so me doing pvp for my pvp gear and increasing my ilvl till about 170 isnt a bad idea?
ik id get rolled bc of my gear but yea
You can easily reach 200 not long after hitting 60
Tho it’s a lot easier if you are willing to spend a lil gold at the ah
basically where im at rn is im lvl 60 with like 150 ilvl. i havent done my cov campaign, korthia, or my torghast.
im just trying to be efficient ig
not waste time on stuff i dont need to do
You should prioritise the cov campaign and torghast since the earlier you get high renown and your legendary the better
Cov campaign then Korthia campaign + a few dailies is ilvl 200 easy
by the time i finish my cov campaign i should be in about ilvl 200 right
Depends what you do in between questing but you’ll be close
Cov campaign is 197 ilvl, Korthia is 200-220
Neither gives full sets or anything, but those together with a BoE or two gets you about 200ilvl
ok so i should just do cov campaign and korthia then get my legendary and then i should be good to start pvp?
Remember that anyone in pvp gear will shit on you
It's literally just hit conquest cap, wait a week repeat
You can do pvp after a bit
Pvp
Once you're kinda in to PvP the gearing system is great
Just getting into it is a fuck and a half
I usually focus on pve for a few weeks before doing anything pvp related
Get some decent gear before farming the pvp gear and such
whats the cap for conquest
I'm a lvl 50 destruction warlock trying to aoe farm but keep dying any tips I'm new to the game.
tryna aoe farm what?
level 50 you should be goin into shadowlands content and questing thru there
Unfortunately I've not got the money to buy shadowlands atm. And I'm farming for a mount that requires 20 Abyssal frags I pull 5 mobs and instead of going onto my pet they atk me.
pet only taunts one dude every 8s
idk man, be more careful? not really anything to do
Ok
@azure reef forgot to tell you I got the mount
hm my brother mentioned seeing some bm monk twink who had leech and shit, wonderin if anyone knows how thats possible?
i guess "Enchant Weapon - Lifestealing", but that sounds pretty low impact
i need help deciding what professions to use for a vulpera rogue i’m about to make: engineering and mining, alchemy and herbalism, or engineering and alchemy
kinda just doesnt matter tbh
engi is a bunch of utility and alchemy makes your flasks last 2hrs not 1hr, thats literally all the practical bonuses - aside from those two little bits its just money making
so go what you think looks the best to make money with. not even like you would think "oh i need this profession to make stuff for my character" cause you can just go any other profession then buy it with money you make from that
id kinda reccomend doing herb+mining rather than one or the other cause you can kinda do them together, but eh thats just my two cents.
definitely possible to make money from crafting professions with no gatherin professions to supply the mats directly, but thatd require a bi more knowledge of the market on your server
so professions aren’t worth much besides money? lol
Just like irl
yeah thats kinda their point
its just what flavor of money making you want
like you can go "oh i want leatherworking to make legendary pieces for my rogue", but unless your server is tiny as fuck you can do any other profession for money then buy them
And the crafted items can be used for different purposes
like i personally wouldnt say to go a crafting profession without a gathering profession that directly feeds it resources - having to buy resources, process them, sell the product for profit takes good knowlegde of the market so just getting resources yourself is heaps easier
Personally i dont go either mining or herb because of the crossover, so i just go both or neither
but ehh, really cant go wrong with professions yknow
If you want to see practical benefit aswell as the usual money making theres Engi utility (like a clunky battlerez) while Alchemy making flasks like double duration (1h->2h) saves a bit of money in the long run
but again its whatever, go with what profession looks fun to make money to you
low effort would be Tailoring+Enchanting as both are independant
I made a tank and I'm using mythic dungeon tools
but idk how to link it in the chat?
I'm guessing it's "Share" but that's greyed out
I just go with whatever fits the race/class/spec of my character. Like for an assassin that weilds poisened blades i guess alchemy and therefor herbalism is a great fit
For money, pick something that benefits your class - i.e. skinning and leatherworking for a leather user
for just practicality, I always go engineering/alchemy
I do raids/dungeons, so the extended length on potions is great and engineering gives you things like combat res and traps
yeah i was kinda goin tailoring+enchant cause zero effort money making, gonna swap enchant to alch just for the potion thing
thing is, rather than crafting legendary stuff with my tailoring ive just bought it with money made from enchant lmfao
Engi is lovely. brez is great but you cant really rely in on it know - especially as a tank/heal
can anyone help me with quests in the maw
hi guys im in draenor now but how do i accept the warlord of draenor quest
where is the npc
to start it
You start the WoD quests at the dark portal/mission board at your city
i cant find it on the board
Are you trying to level new character?
If you’re level 50+ it should be acceptable from the mission board
i have only Krasarang Kun Lai and uldum
60
You may be able to get the starting quest from Khadgar in the blasted lands
If not from the mission board
There should be an npc on the portal room that can send you there
ok thx
Make sure you have trivial quests turned on
whats that
If you right click your mini map you can tick trivial quests, it will show low level quest on ur map iirc
Just makes it easier to follow the questline without missing quests you need/want
Try ingame chat maybe? Or the discord’s lfg channel for your faction/region
you have to be in a party to link
Technically engineering/alchemy if you're minmaxing M+ and raid @white ether
but if you could care less about min maxing professions then it really doesnt matter
Yeah they're entirely meaningless
Engi has some nice utility and alchemy makes one type of potion last double duration(1h->2h). All professions, including those two, just comes down to "what flavor of money making do I feel like"
Crafting professions without a corresponding gathering professions to back them up is a bit rough unless you know the market well. I personally go neither Mining nor Herb or both, one or the other feels wrong considering the bit of overlap; then again paladin isn't one of the better classes for gathering due to limited mobility, yet it doesn't matter either way honestly
If you just want low effort professions Tailoring+Enchanting is nice as both are fully independent
@white ether
But yeah they don't really matter, all get the same outcome for the most part- not like you should go "well i need blacksmithing to make armor for my Paladin" as you can just do any other profession and buy said armor with money you made
True true
I was thinking of enchanting and jewelcrafting to maximize my stats
But for jewelcrafting I’ll be depended on buying mining resources right
Yeah
So would that be a good combo?
And buying mining resources to process with jewelcrafting to turn a profit is hard
Havnt done it myself personally, but just keep in mind that approach will need you to get a feel for prices on your server
Buy materials when they're cheap, sell gems when they're expensive
Half of it is tied to when bots/multiboxers dump their stock
What’s the most profitable profession then?
I guess any crafting profession if you know the market
Making legendaries is good money just annoying to do
So then jewelcrAfting and enchanting is a bad combo?
Can never go wrong with mining/herb or fishing, they're a lot more of a separate thing you dedicate time to tho
That's up to you man
Enchanting is entirely independent just by itself which is great - disenchant excess gear, use mats to craft whatever is most profitable
Jewelcrafting without mining will be a bit hard to profit off, but isn't necessarily a bad idea
Well I can use mining to level my JC to the max
And then change mining to enchanting right
Tbf with the time investment levelling mining is to max I really wouldn't
Man why is choosing professions so hard
They're all good it's just a bit to consider yknow
Pretty much just what flavor of money making you feel like
Except a crafting without a gathering takes knowledge of the market
Yeah I feel like just making stuff rather than just gathering it all the time
Also anything you can make with jewelcrafting you can also buy off the ah btw
Yeah that's honestly fair
Wait
I just went Tailor+Enchant cause there's no buying mats if I don't want to, no farming mats really
So you can just buy the stuff you make from jc in the store
Yah
Then I might as well do engendering and enchanting
Yeah that makes sense
There's no "I'll go this profession to craft what benefits me" as you can go any profession to make money then just buy it
Aside from engineering utility and alchemy making some potions last longer
So it really just comes down to what flavor of money making looks the most interesting to you. Also gotta consider class a bit but it doesn't matter too much - id rather not go Herb/Mining on a pally when I could do it on my Druid type of thing, but yeah doesn't really matter too much either way
im missing one renown
but i dont seem to have anything to get it
heroic works here?
Hmm
You're renown 53? @stray rapids
Done the anima weekly, Korthia weekly, some other weekly I forgot?
Yeah then I’d rather start with enchanting since it scales with lvling anyway
should be a quest in Korthia asking you to report to Ardenweald
And I’ll sell the stuff I make from engeneering which also is useful for raids
that's part of the campaign and grants one renown
im on an alt at 43
oh it's pretty slow at 43
Enchant is great, rather than selling gear to vendors you just disenchant it. The materials build up and you end up just turning them into enchants you sell on the AH when prices are good
heroic dungeon spam should be fine
just make sure you finish all the possible quests that grant renown that are available first
Is engereering a hard skill
Relatively yes
Tailoring doesn't need a gathering profession so it's really convenient
It makes cloth gear which paladin can't use, then again you can just sell what you make for money to buy relevant things
Do you need a gathering profession for engeneering
It's tied to mining
Mining sucks though
There's no requirement with professions except just having to learn the skill
like I said, engineering + alchemy is fine, that's what I run because I do M+ and raid
neither are gathering professions
Engineering is honestly more about convenience than money making
that being said, crafting professions are also very expensive to level up
so generally people like to pair with a gathering
so mining + engineering, herbalism + alchemy, skinning + leatherworking, etc
Engi is more in depth than the other professions too - any other profession you just learn and level up Shadowlands (most recent xpac), with Engi you take bits from most expansions
What’s a good pair for enchanting
there's no dipping back into previous expansions for SL Engineering
And miss out on the portable repairs?
Most expansions have things still relevant for engineering
well that's pretty optional, same with certain stuff in other professions
Half of engineering is that optional stuff from old expansions
If you have engi anyway why not get the portable repairs things
because it's almost irrelevant in most scenarios
only time you'd ever need it is in raid
Should I do engineering on a later character
You choose, doesn't matter
I personally like not raiding with broken gear but that might just be me
Enchant is independent, it gathers materials which it uses itself. Same with tailoring
You're saying that as if there aren't quick options for repairing gear aside of engineering xD
Just saying most of the classic-shadowlands stuff isnt outdated
Most of it is pretty convenient and worth picking up
Most of the stuff from previous Shadowlands engineering is very outdated
Didn't know shadowlands engineering included a portable repair?
only few things from previous expacs are actually still used
So basically if I can rnchanting then doing a crafting on the side makes it harder
Because you can’t gather the materials for it
Ah yes, half of engineering is based around a portable repair that serves the one use of using it in raid when you cant mount
It's just crafting without a supporting gathering is hard
I really wouldn't reccomend it
even Blizzard is cracking down on previous expac engineering things
outside of portals and stuff, actual useable stuff have been getting nerfed in SL
Honestly, tailoring+Enchant could be good? Neither need a gathering profession, it's an easy thing to get into
So then tailoring and enchanting would make me the most money by just playing
That’s what I did before on my priest
But I deleted that character because I got the wrong race
Passive income nice income
But yeah nah the answer is pretty much do what you want
Engi has utility, alchemy saves money in the long run
Aye
All professions boil down to how you wanna make money
Also can’t I as a paladin tank make lots of money by just tanking dungeons
M+?
Thanks are hard to come by, but not to that extent
mythic plus
Endgame dungeons
Ahh
highest difficulty of dungeons
Like normal dungeons but harder and with a timer
In TBC maybe
Not in retail
timer + boss requirements + mob percentage requirement
so none of that boss cheese in PF where you double skip bosses
For queues tanks are nearly instant, healer is fast for most things, dps is long. Ain't dire enough that people pay for tanks
As a tank people will dm you either hate or compliments tho
boosting keys is a separate thing but that's only relevant when you're really good at the game to put it bluntly
Aye aye
not to mention learning tank/healer is arguably one of the most toxic moments in you will experience
Hmm guess I’ll just make decent money by tailoring and enchanting
Paladin is a nice start tho, can do all three roles and there's personality to each
Good way to get back into it I reckon
Nothing is
But yeah I’ll just make money from selling bags and enchanting stuff
I probably rambled about professions too much sry lol
Honestly, state of the game you can get surprisingly far without professions. Feels weird
Like it just throws money at you, don't need to actively farm it for a while
So don't sweat professions too much if you arnt liking them or whatever yknow
Tnx man
Honestly enchanting and tailoring is fine
Because you get that stuff from playing anyway
So I won’t have to focus on it
And I can sell my tailoring stuff to priest
Honestly a really chill combo
Tailoring also makes enemies drop more cloth
So truly is just passive money
Exactly
And it’s gonna take a while before I start raiding and all stuff
So I might as well do the other professions on other characters and transfer it
Holy pally is arguably the best healer in high end mythic+ largely because of their ridiculous damage output
Tank balance is pretty alright and prot pally is just an all around strong spec
Ret is fucking weird but also in a good spot
Prot pal is actually on the weaker side of tanks
What's weird about ret?
not to mention its ridiculous skill ceiling
Still ain't bad yknow
Like relative to some of the shit wow has seen, tanks are decent atm
It's not bad in retail but not really that strong compared to other tanks
although in raid, it's great
Relatively weak, relative to tanks being in a good spot anyways
but again, high skill ceiling
But then what’s the best skill tree for paladin
That's dependent on covenant and spec
unless you mean talents
either way, consult the peeps in the paladin discord
Aye tnx
And he laughed
@keen pewter we all laughed
I think some of us cried PepeHands
Agreed
When is blizzcon!?
When they announce it
K, so I got this Mage class quest, Mastering The Arcane, and it's telling me to go do SHadowfang, but I can't since it won't show up in Group Finder
Walk to it
@wraith dome are we even getting one this year? Also still nothing on new cod
There is always a new cod
But with all the lawsuit stuff going on I wonder if we won't get a new cod and blizzcon this year
Definitely won't be getting another online one soon either
Do the skins and stuff from blizzcon ever get added to the game to buy from the shop?
Not really
Anyone ever buy tcg booster packs? How rare are the mounts?
Hi I have a little problem, I used a sesame for one of my characters (allii rating), I abandoned the quest where we go to the den and we connect the pieces of headphones and it is now impossible that I redo it or that I go in the den someone would have a solution please?
sesame? Headphone pieces? what kind of quest is that?
I have no idea lol
the quest where we pass a portal and then start in the lair
you dont know how little that narrows it down 👀
which characters did you interact with? where did this happen?
with Generalissimo Darion Morgraine
I bought a sesame to go directly to level 50 then unwittingly I abandoned the quest which allows you to start exploring the lair
guys how much item lvl do i need to do sanctom of dominations
bruh where are you from that you call a lvl boost token a "sesame"
i always get declined
Has wow sub always been the same $15 even on 2004?
dont know about $ but in € is think it always has been 12,99€ so i guess $ price hasnt changed either
on normal? i would say 220-230
ohhh thats whyy im 193 lol
France
dude... you are not even really up to castle nathria hc
get some mythic+ done and gear up
ok
No idea, not even in italian or spanish it's called nothing like "sesame" xd
France
well anyway we now know he means a quest he got after lvl boosting
there are 15+ and 16+ how do i know how much + i am?
You're probably like +3
at 190 something you are probably ready for m0 - m5
