@inland gate i would suggest a paladin or warrior for melee and a druid for anything else. Hunters are also fun, but can be harder to play at a high level. But basically if you fancy it try it out!

You set up your garrison, do a couple of garrison tutorial quests, and the upgrade. I think you also need some healthy amount of garrison resources, which can come from more quests, but maybe there are faster ways.

Unless you have 39 friends willing to help you through the group content, playing through the entire story in chronological order is not going to be possible. Just watch some videos on YouTube to get you up to speed and play the newest stuff. Then you can go back to the old stuff and, being overleveled, beat it on your own.

@misty nacelle its also because that expansion was built to help new players learn how to play. The tutorial is really indepth so you can learn the basics pretty quickly :)
@distant cradle best way to do it is to run m0 to get a bunch of 184s then run lower keys and normal raids for up to ilevel200. After that you need higher keys and heroic raiding. But playing well doesn't always rely solely on your ilevel. I've met amazing players with lower ilevels that ourstrip higher ilevel players. Its a combination of everything really :) just enjoy the game!

So I struggle with selecting my enemies since the enemy name bars are always clustered with my team mates and or the other enemies are too close to each other which causes them to overlap each other and i just cant click them like I try to click them select a team mate then i try again select an enemy i dont want to then i finally click them. And this gets way worse when im in dungeons or tight areas. AND what makes matters extremely worse is when one of my team mates also has a red name tag and this gets me even more mixed up and confused. Have you tried using the Tab key? Unless you rebound it to something else, Tab can be used to select an enemy in front of you within certain distance (about 40 yards, give or take). If you press Tab while you have an enemy targetted, it will switch to another viable target.

Which class should i play
you can play any class, but for beginners I'd recommend Paladin, Hunter, or Warlock
Paladin can fill any role, has simplistic rotation, and has lots of emergency buttons for mistakes.
Hunter has a pet, and can be fully mobile while dealing competitive DPS from a long range
Warlock ALSO has a pet, but casts like a Mage and can life-drain opponents if they run low on health.
I wouldn't recommend Mage, Warrior, or Druid as a first class, as they are a bit more limited in early level utility (or in Druid's case, a bit complicated, since you have to weave between forms to play well)

Then you were caught in the "new player trap no. 1". I recommend creating a new character and starting at level 1 from Exile's Reach. This process should show you some basics along the way and gradually introduce your class abilities.

yup. BfA is set up specifically for new and returning players. the tutorial is really good for helping you learn the basics of how it works and your class abilities. you can learn little by little. it doesnt take long these days to get to level 60! maybe around 4 days play time if you dont have much life going on rn (who does haha)
and also, the point of wow is the storyline, so you get to see a bit of that. enjoy the game! its not a race. its not about being better than everyone else either (though there are some that think that way) Its more to help people relax, make friends and have fun 🙂

In the dungeon finder, you'll see the "Pre-Made Groups" tab under Player vs Player. Use that then the dungeons section.
You have to personally join Mythic groups and walk into the dungeon the old fashion way. Holding hands, and singing sea shanties.
But in all seriousness - yeah you have to either start your own group and list it...or apply to other groups within that listing.

@desert silo You'd have to craft 10 rank 1 legendaries of the same type to get access to rank 2. So on and so forth for the following levels.
And as far as item level goes, you won't find a better item than your BiS legendary even if the item level is a few levels higher. The over all addition of whatever stat/skill the lego provides will out weigh the minor stat increase.

If you're in a dungeon taking damage it's because you aren't doing mechanics. There is splash damage that is unavoidable but that falls to the healer.

I play on a low pop server with no linked realms. But it's about 60/40 Horde.

You should consider getting details as well so you can track damage and healing done @desert silo
I always recommend a trinity: Details + DBM/GTFO + some sort of UI addon whether it's full blown like ElvUI or just action bars like Bartender4
