@smoky beacon BFA story is the default option for every class (maybe except the Demon Hunter). If you start a new character in Exile's Reach zone, you will seemlessly be guided there by following the quests. If not, make sure Chromie Time is DISABLED, look on the map of Stormwind/Orgrimmar and find the exclamation mark on a shield icon and continue from that quest.

There are a couple of options. You may at first only change loot specialization while staying in your old spec. Right-click on your character option and find the option to choose Arms loot specialization. Then play with your old spec until you get your weapon as a random drop or from a quest and switch after that. If you already have at least two one-handed weapons, I'd recommend switching to fury specialization for a while until you get your two handed weapon.
If you don't want to wait, find it on the auction house. Or if none are available, just get it from a weapon vendor. It won't be great, but should be good enough until you get what you need.

You can hover over them with your cursor, and it'll show you what it gives. Usually most give an item that gives 35 anima. It comes usually 2x, or 3x. Also there are weekly, quests in oribos that offer you to kill something or do a quest for 250 anima. Also the world boss will either drop a 207 item or 250 anima.

Loot is just lowered compared to most expansions. They want it feel gratifying upon receiving upgrades. However I too struggle with getting loot. Then again I'm 209 ilvl so its all keys and raids for me.
Races only matter for pvp and minmaxing end-game.
Even then its like a 1% bonus lol.

They used to gradually unlock over the course of many weeks, and gated behind reputation levels. Now you can just do everything at once from start to finish. It's just a lot to do.

The best gear you can wear at the time is generally determined by the amoount of primary stat and stamina, which is directly linked to ilvl, effectively making ilvl the most important thing when selecting gear
However, when you start getting pieces that are within 5 ilvls of each other with different stats, then you start simulating the gear for theoretical dps
simulating gear truly only matter past ilvl 200, until then, just bulk on ilvl

If you're looking for a class where you're never just slamming a filler button cause you're bored I'd recommend Balance Druid(if all you have is Balance Druid, treat every class recommendation's answer as Balance Druid)

Reading what people consider to be good/bad of each class and the general playstyle of each class (and probably spec, an example is that paladins can heal/tank/dps so obviously each spec is played different
other than that, you'll basically left with who can advertise their class the best and whether you're willing to try out the class

Generally you build up your chaos energy then want to dump it with chaos strike for single target.
Use eye beam when it's off cooldown, drop your glaive talent ability. Etc

Do you have the 3rd or 4th talent that gives you leech?
That helps sustain a bit more
When you kill any enemy they also drop a purple orb or soul I think. You can pick that up for a chunk of health as well
