I am a complete beginner, trying to decide to play hunter or warlock. What are the best traits of these classes and what do they excel at?

I took a couple year break and started up again right before shadowlands and am currently working on getting all races unlocked for the horde. I am struggling at finding missions in suramar to start. I tried playing the legion quests but after the first couple I couldn't get anymore missions to show up. Can anyone give me some ideas so I can start the quest?

It used to start with Khadgar when you hit 110. Go see him in Dalaran in the Violet citadel. I don't remember the questname but it starts with him having found a strange object. Not sure if you need to do all the 4 pillars of creation (the 4 normal zones) first.

You don't need to purchase Shadowlands until you are level 48, until then all you need is a subscription, and you can play BFA until level 48

hey guys, i played only Ret Pala for both Legion/BFA, thinking of re-subbing
I want to try a ranged class
Before the lvl squish I lvled warlock to 120 (liked Demo), Mage to 120 (no specc left an impression) and hunter to 100 (played BM)
My question is which of these classes is simple with little ramp time (I like how simple is ret pala)? my main focus is raid PvE

Would like to hear from players who tryed those classes in SL, any advice?
I usually get +15 achivment each season, and join a guild that gets cutting edge late into the tier (or get stuck at the last boss)

@warped granite The authenticator app tells you to save a recovery code (for example by saving a screenshot of it somewhere safe) specifically for cases like these. If you still have that code somewhere, you can use it when you reinstall the app on your new phone. Otherwise, Blizzard support is your only solution. Remember, authenticators normally are tied to specific phone and there are limited number of ways to move it to another.

@pallid fulcrum It's a generic network error. Typically you can just try to log several times in a row until they let you play. If that doesn't work, either try again later or google the error's code and follow the instructions you can find this way on the Blizzard website. Make sure to follow those instructions first before you file a ticket, otherwise they'll just tell you to try that first.

Ok so a few years ago I played wow and towards the beginning I set my eyes on the phosphorescent stone drake and i waited in deepholm for ages and I ended up getting it. But I stopped playing and now im just getting back into it and I started a new character and I was wondering if I would be able to use that mount on my new character. I still have the character that I got the mount on but when I go into its mount menu I cant find it. My subscription did expire and it made all my characters drop to level 10 so when I get to level 60 will I get the mount back?

Which one is better to ease into for the caster DPS role? I'm starting to pick up wow with a group of freinds and am trying to figure out what class I want to be. I think Demon Hunters are an exception and they are normally led to the Broken Isles instead of BFA, but for levels 45-50 they should switch or enable Chromie Time if available. Regardless of that, it's not recommended that you pick Demon Hunter or Death Knight as your first character. @clever karma

Yeah but I mean do I screw other people in the raid over? For example if I've already killed shriekwing this week and join another raid, with say 15 people, the game decides that 2 items should drop, then assigns me and person X as the recipients for the two items. But since I already killed shriekwing, only 1 item in total is received for that boss. Cause that is what I've heard happening in mythic0 dungeons.

You will just stay at level 50, but can still play on that character without limitations. You can do stuff from old expansions, especially things that are soloable, but you might have trouble finding people who would join a group with you. It's a lot of stuff to do, if you like it.

Nightborne is one of the hardest races to unlock. Not necessarily with the effort required, but with all those time gates.

the game works best if you keep playing and do all the things properly - it's not uncommon that players on inconsistent play patterns get stuck and lost

I am quite new at WOW and im trying to get into PVP BG. I'm a Warlock Destruction level 57.
So here is my problem. I know that i play with players that are around my level (55-59).
But where i'm really surprised, it's that i can litterally not stand more than a few seconds without dying against my opponents. I mean, how come that when i use my spells, it barely make any damages, but for them it takes like a few shots and i'm dead....
If i was fighting against players level 60 with full legendary sets, i'd understand....but i'm fighting against players around 55....so how is that possible that they are so superior ?? To be new and not knowing all the mechanics is one thing, but here it's like i don't have time to cast or anything else that i'm already on the ground eating earth !! I must be doing something wrong or there is something i'm missing about PVP BG...

They'll go out and get the best of the best gear for that cap level and get all the enchants/gems that make them that OP and broken in that level bracket. It's called Twinking. Under normal circumstances these characters are crazy hard to beat and are tuned to be so.

Pretty much. There's a few Pvp gear vendors in your Major cities (Stormwind/Org/Dal) as well as all the old raid content that can be farmed. But for the most part, if you intend to stay pre-60, you'll be facing those kinds. Post-60 has it's own challenge as there's also well geared players there. It's Pvp. You'll find you can kill some while others are not so easy.

Just takes time and patience to get to that point.

As to servers idk but you can sort through high population servers in your region then search them up online to see if they have a good faction balance or whatever else you want.

All I play on are full servers and never ever have to wait. The ONLY times I've had to wait are when new expansions come out or something unexpected happens and people are trying to log back in all at once

it means the world zones will lag frequently when any events are taking place or when many people are questing there and prices in the AH will be rather low and any gathering professions will give less gold because more bots farm herbs and minerals on the servers to sell on the AH. but you will have shorter queue times for anything and will see people even in remote parts of the world.

on bfa, after setting up the 3 footholds in kul tiras, my friend is supposed to get "uniting the isles" from nathanos but nathanos isnt giving him any quests except the questline to go to najatlar (i know he doesnt have to do that cause i have "Ready for War" and i never did najatlar). @silver yacht not without exp buffs I don't think. Recently tried it using AAP mod but one of the potions they say to use doesn't seem to be available anymore. I would wait for darkmoon fair on 31st for that 10% rep buff, warmode is another 10%, get goblin gliders, a horseshoe item for mount and then use AAP to do WoD, should hit 50 by the time you are getting to Spires area

That's starting from 10 after doing exiles reach btw (or if you're allied race)

It's probably worth making a toon now and parking them in a rested exp area so you can benefit from that too if you decide to wait til 31st, that's my plan

Enemies scale up to a certain level depending what zone you are in. Old world zones scale up to 50 I think but won't go higher than that unless there is something special going on or a quest that takes you back to those zones.

Usually that symbol means it has the highest value in terms of gold if sold. However depending on what addon that is extending from it may be telling you to take it for your covenant.

Not ground breaking by any means but can be somewhat useful in the long run.

I focused my covenant first. My paladin is Kyrian (Bastion) so I did most of the content I could daily/weekly to do my covenant quest chain. Then just did WQ's as well.

Your covenant stuff is rather important yes. As it unlocks various tools, and power ups you will need.

Purchase Subscription = 30 days game time with all content up to Battle For Azeroth. (The previous expansion before the current Shadowlands.)

If you want ALL content off the start.

Purchase the Shadowlands expansion. There are different versions. The more expensive one comes with 30 days game time included. The others do not so you'd need buy a subscription anyways.

You can always start with the subscription and have access to the content that leads up to Shadowlands. So you could level from 1 to 50 for that initial subscription payment. Then purchase Shadowlands down the road. As you wont be able to access any of it until level 48-50 regardless.

ICC is legacy content and outdated. If you have a character already or previously from beforehand you can level a character in chromie time in Northrend from 10-50.

Other wise - at level like 40+ if not scaled you one shot everything in the old raids. Well at least ICC.

@honest moth Absolutely. However unless in a group of people similar to your level (very hard to find people willing to raid legacy content at the level of it.) you'll just one shot everything :).

Which in return is great for transmog farming and mount possibilities.

The higher your skill level is in that profession the more you will gather. You can also get a glove enchantment that will gather quicker but I do not believe you can gather more than a certain amount.

Thats very open ended. Warlocks fit the description of what you described perfectly. Or even Shadow priest. Not sure I understand the last portion of your post though.

Not sure how valid that statement is. Mythic is all pre-made so could possibly just be what they are running, or joining on.

Top dps classes are ranged currently.

Affliction is currently the better of the 3 warlock specs. It focuses on dots and spreading them via other abilities.
