A friend of mine just hit 60 after enjoying leveling his first toon. Suddenly his motivation to play bottomed out, citing not really knowing what the point of the game was anymore now that there’s no more story to level through. I realized I didn’t have a good answer to this comment and explaining the theoretical fun of mythics or raids isn’t effective as he doesn’t really know what that experience is like, and frankly neither do I having not played for 10 years. Any advice?

What I enjoy about the game is you can put so many more hours into it vs a singleplayer game. Seeing your character upgrade, visually looking better. is a big part of the game for me. And should be for all players in my personal opinion.

Not to disparage our guild at all, they are all very nice and helpful and welcoming, but they’re .. not those people. They have rote jobs and use drinking + WoW to hang out and escape, which is great! But they wouldn’t be his “type”.

@faint kelp Pre-potting means to use a potion such as one that increases your stats just before the tank pulls a boss and you enter combat. By doing that you force the potion to start it's cooldown so you can use it again during combat. If you wait to use it until after you enter combat you can't use it again until after you exit combat as the cooldown won't start counting until you leave combat.
Pre-casting is just starting your cast before the tank pulls but timing it so that your spell hits the boss after the tank hits it.

That's how you make your shadowlands legendaries. You have to find a Memory (dropped by bosses in dungeons or raids or from Torghast) and then combine it with an item that can be made by someone with the appropriate professions (Tailors make cloth, leatherworkers make mail/leather and Blacksmiths make plate) and two missives in order to make the legendary

Additional info: My alt started off today as Renown 10, and is currently Renown 12. I got 1 Renown from a Calling quest, and 1 Renown from the campaign questline unlocked at Renown 11. That was earlier in the day, and since then I have been running M+ dungeons almost non-stop, but I have not received a +1 Renown from a single one of those M+ runs. That's why I'm wondering if maybe there's a daily cap of Renown you can earn until you're caught up and it becomes weekly again. Does anyone have any info that can confirm this? Or am I just extraordinarily unlucky?

Well keep doing heroics to get every slot to 171. Look at the adventure guide for the loot pools of each dungeon and farm them till you get the drops you need. Most M0 groups should take you at 170+. If not, start your own and run it that way.
Always the option of joining a guild that will assist.

- You must first obtain six different Legion cooking recipes from quests or as drops.
- After that, he will be in the kitchen in the inn in your faction's district.

Maybe Nomi is there the entire time, not sure about that. But he only becomes useful after you collect six recipes.

Yeah, that was the final raid from the last expansion pack. It's extremely unlikely you'll find a group to do it right now given that there's a new xpac AND scaling is busted at the moment for legion/BFA, so it probably would still be difficult-enough even if you did manager to find a group

Yeah, world quests are the most reliable source. There ARE some quest lines that you probably missed with Magni too that would give rep with them, but they're really scattered and I couldn't really help figure out where they start

There is no pathfinder I don't think at the moment at all for SL is there? And I'm pretty sure they confirmed there will be flying, but it will be unlocked a little differently (Probably tied to the covenant quest chains you unlock at 60)

You mean the quests for your covenant that you start getting at 60? I'm...pretty sure you can ignore them, but they unlock the cov. gear and a few other things along the way I believe. Technically though, sure? Nothing forcing you to do them as far as I know

Can a fire mage help me out a bit?
So i'm looking at stats and simming my own fire mage (went fire after being frost for 2 weeks..)
Stats prio says it's best for fire to have Haste > Versatility = Mastery > Critical Strike in the start
However i see some mages with more mastery with should be a decent stat aswell and others runing
Haste -> Mastery -> Crit -> Vers
What would be the best idea to focus on stat wise?

If you're simming (and it's using your character/gear and potential upgrades based on that), then you can pretty much safely ignore the 'base' recommendations. The sim tells you of the upgrades, which gives you more DPS, so can't really go wrong there (unless it makes the class feel bad to play, but a few points here vs there I doubt makes too much a difference)

I have a problem with WoW settings, it basically just adapts FPS to the same level
shortly speaking: lowest settings give as much FPS as the highest ones do, because CPU/GPU usage adapts to both

Ryzen might be less powerful single-cored because it's designed for using all of them, but I didn't have that problem in BfA
