Crafting a legendary doesn't unlock anything for questing, right? I got all the parts for the Runecarver quest, but I got a higher level base because I want to wait until I can craft that instead of blowing most of my ash on a 190.

- is this your first character? if yes then you can only do bfa zones until level 50
- if question 1 was no,then are you level 50 or still leveling?
- if questtion 2 was still leveling,then visit chromie in your major city(stormwind/orgrimmar)
if you are already level 50,just go to legion dalaran in the broken isles continent and after waiting a few mins you should get an npc running to you with a quesst

You basically have to stand by her and let the fight play out, killing a large bird at the end. During the PTR there was a bug for a few days where it wouldn't trigger for some reason. If nothing happens, write a ticket to Blizzard.

Legendary drop rates are progressively better throughout difficulties, I got mine from normal.
i kept perma-queued for Normal and Heroic versions of my instance that drops my legendary as you can only do 1 mythic a week.
and I ran about 5 heroics and 10 normal runs, and it dropped from my normal run

@open spire I've got the same weird bug. I'm assuming you're in a group? If you pass lead and another person queues the group, it'll work just fine
@pallid fulcrum Sub Rogue isn't easy. You need to manage all of your cds carefully. Basically the idea is to use stealth as much as possible with your cds running without wasting combo points. I've mained Feral since cata and still have trouble with sub rogue (despite Feral being pretty much just a Rogue spec). iirc Outlaw is easiest but has rng, and assassination is less stealth more dots (this is off the top of my head, so I'm not 100% sure I'm getting this right. Icyveins is always a decent starting point until you understand the rotations)

They're great as a starting point, but as you play the class more you'll likely change some of the talent choices. While the theoretical dps is higher with certain builds, at the end of the day you'll be doing better if you go for the build that matches your playstyle.

Like with Feral "Savage Roar" was always THE choice, but I hated it in my rotation. I swapped to Soul of the Forest and suddenly was doing way better, because it fit my playstyle better.
With Rogue, make sure you try out all 3 specs. There aren't any massive dps differences between them and balancing is always changing. (I have to believe in balancing eventually making each spec good for at least one full patch, I am Feral after all...๐ซ )

If you are a new player, you are supposed to reach level 50 on Kul Tiras. After that you go to Shadowlands. You don't need to finish any quests in particular, but they will help you reach that goal.

A player who already has at least one character at level 50 on their account has an option to talk to Chromie in Orgrimmar or Stormwind (marked on the map with an hourglass icon). This will extend the scaling of all continents to allow reaching level 50 on any of them. Levels 51-60 are only meant to be reached in the Shadowlands.

They did a level squish so that the process of getting to cap level wasn't so incredibly daunting. All the old dungeons still exist - so long as you're under level 50 you can use Chromie Time to be able to queue for any dungeons from the expac of your choice. At level 50+ you can simply go solo them if you wish, for a myriad of reasons.

Yup, you'll share queues with anyone between 10 and 49. They picked the expac you did so everyone in that expac is in the same pool. Because of scaling, everyone sees the mobs as appropriate for their levels for power. It creates an odd equilibrium, but it's working for the most part.

Think of it this way: if you have a rank 1 legendary crafted that cost 1250 soul ash, you can upgrade it to rank 3 with a rank 3 vessel and 1950 soul ash. But if you wanted to craft a brand new rank 3 legendary, you'd need the rank 3 vessel and 3200 soul ash
But for the upgrade you wouldn't need the missives or a new power or anything, just the new vessel and the difference in soul ash

You don't need missives for the upgrade either, just the base item and difference in soul ash
For some pieces, waiting and crafting a new one can be more cost-effective than upgrading with multiple base items, but that's purely a situational scenario and depends on your own access to resources and realm economy

I made a macro that equips a melee weapon and changes my action bar. And on that new action bar a macro that equips a ranged weapon and changes my action bar back. Out of combat testing it works flawlessly 100%. In combat it always changes my action bar but the weapon change is about 50/50. Does anyone know if I'm supposed to do anything before the equip to ensure it happens? I've tried adding a /stopcasting before it but I don't know if I'm going about it right, and it still works only half the time in combat. When the servers are up I'm thinking of adding /equip to skills on the changed bar as a possible short term jury-rigged fix.

I think that's gotta be it though. I think there's something about it in use that's stopping it. After hitting the macro my bar changes, and the action to equip the new weapon is on the previous bar, which gets me in a kinda stuck position with the changed bar skills.
I have a temporary solution in mind, temporary until I find one better. Might turn out to be 100% effective.

i think you can find "bis lists" however take those with a grain of salt as they may not be accurate 100% for the content you want to do,and are more of a generic "good" gear piece
generally more ilvl in majority of cases means better item,unless you are trying to minmax specific stats
