I know one of the older versions of the program did have that as a benefit, but that's been gone for years at this point, and I highly doubt they'll do an XP bonus as a feature for the foreseeable future if ever again. I mean, they took off the XP bonus from BoA gear once the level 60 squish was in effect.

Either way, I can set you up with bags if needed so long as you make a character within that server group. I'm also an officer in the Chocobo Bandits. It's one of the largest Horde guilds within that server group and I would be more than happy to toss an invite your way. My Horde guild is hopefully looking to start DF raids soon, but I've got no firm date on that as we're still working out the logistics.
Alliance side, I'm a member of Ruin. Once again, it's one of the biggest guilds within the server group, but unlike the Bandits they're more of a laid back social group. That said, you could always do much worse for a guild.
I've also gone ahead and started a cross faction community group. Primary focus is PvP/Rated Battlegrounds, but I can still toss invites out if you're looking for a place to chat and potentially put groups together.

Well, it would seem like Blizzard wanted to prove me wrong. They just made updates to RAF and brough back +50% XP when partied together.
Not quite double XP, and it sure as hell isn't triple, but there you go. I just question if the game really needed it considering how fast leveling is now lol

Few days late, but yes. So long as you haven't paid for gametime yet (don't know about free/promo time), someone can still come along and get you a RAF code. The cutoff on an inactive account is two years. Anything over that and you'll be good for RAF. You get entitled to a free bag (32 slot I believe) and as long as you stay linked you can summon one another directly.

Directly, no. Blizzard does rarely have free weekends for folks without the most recent expansion, but they literally did it about a month ago. I would not expect another such promo for awhile. If one does happen, it'll likely coincide with something such as a Summer or Fall/Black Friday sale.
If you have friends that play, best they can do is give you a recruit a friend link if you've been inactive for more than a year, but that won't get you free game time. It'll get the two of you the ability to summon one another as long as you remain linked, I believe the recruit/returning player gets a pretty large bag.
As for your buddy, they'll be the one getting free months of time as well as other cosmetic stuff for each month you pay for (up to one year). Current RAF rewards have your friend getting a free month on your 4th, 9th, and 12th month (or 3rd, 6th, 9th, 12th if they have already unlocked all the current RAF rewards)
If anything, once you're active you could either try recruiting folks yourself or seeing if any of your own friends are looking to come back.

Yeah, that was taken out a LONG time ago. Last time they had that sort of boost was pre-SL level squish. It's the same reason why BoA gear doesn't carry an XP boost anymore. Leveling is an absolute joke for the most part. I recently took an alt 1-70 following non-optimal paths in about 19 hours.
Realistically, I don't expect a first time player to be able to do it in under 24 hours, but there's no reason they couldn't do it in a week if they played 4-5 hours a night on average.
It isn't like Classic where it might take someone with no prior knowledge weeks to cap, or where every level past a certain point will easily take you 1-3 hours.
