true bm might be cool in df
Ye
To be honest I just wanna make some jank ass builds
And fuck around with every class
every single class I play is gonna have a meme load out. Maybe 2 lmao
Facts dude.
lmao everyone is expecting a full Spec rework
like no dude
WoW players will never be happy lmao
Shit's wild
https://www.wowhead.com/dragonflight-talent-calc/AACGPRVFRBUBSCBR0JQIAACQPVUVBFUEEBUKEQoUA
Ambush/Dispatch OUtlaw Spam
let's go
massive CD reductions
why no new abilities my spec aint shiny they only selling us back shit we already have reeeee
almost as if this was intended to idk, create a good foundation for specs to work on, with gameplay styles they know already work?
Nah no way
It's just blizzard being dumb of course. Because everything they do is a bad decision
even the decisions I wanted them to make
half joking of course
yea, thing is a lot of people behave that way tho, again criticisms aside and ofc blizz does pull some massive face palm maneuvers here and there even tho we told them, relaying such concerns comes better in civilized words than screaming and flailing and throwing feces, plus being optimistic and also recognizing things that indeed DO go well often gets just thrown below the rug by those people just for the sake of complaining that the sky ain't blue enough
l mean just take the "it's releasing too early it will be bad" mentality
š
imo if they say releasing too early = bad then i can counter with releasing really late wont guarantee a good expansion
then again, if it were releasing pretty late, WoW players still wouldnt be happy
Blizzard plays the fun game of "what does make the least amount of players mad?"
i get the untrust and stuff given how blizzard has treated their own community
but i think its still a bit weird to already assume DF will be bad based on release date
pretty much agree to that
btw Blizzard fucked up p hard over the cause of bfa and sl in terms of community, with now having given them a kick in the butt tho to take them off their high horse, and other mmos making good examples of how it's done, l'm pretty positive on them doing it better this time, what they are doing so far atleast suggests as much
if they on the other hand think they wanna be assholes again well l know where l stashed my pitchfork
Vendor 2 just got updated to the most current dev DF build
@ivory meadowsoooo, alpha tomorrow?
if they really want to push it? perhaps.
or it might just be one last thing before they go live next week.
since it's the weekend.
but yeah
the deal is sealed now that it's next week.
yeah
but i doubt it
was it SL that it was weekend or some other expac
i think it was SLs'
no - it dropped friday
i just checked my old stream from that first alpha and it was apr 17 2020
legion was a monday
bfa was a wednesday
so we could see DF monday
only way we see a weekend build is if its very stable
Itās definitely within the next week Iād say
looks like you're new here. Hello!
hunter trees are definitely... interesting now that Im playing with it
it's kind of crazy how little MM needs to actually care about the class tree compared to BM and Surv
and just how much survival needs to put into the top/middle tiers of their spec tree just to maintain the spec as it is on live
they just... dont get anything new without major sacrifice
;-;
this is the tree I have to go to if I want to play the same spec as I do on live, and I won't actually to play the same spec as I do right now until level 70
IMO
Survival has WAY
too many 3 rank talents
that is why it feels so small compared to everyone elses
like,
there are 6 in your build alone
18 of your talent points go into 6 individual talents
That AREn"T even that interesting
like I get that they don't want you to get everything at once
but honestly survival has way too little
also
YOU CAn"T EVEN PICK UP THE TALEMT THAT Synergizes with Killshot reducing Widfire bomb CD. and that ITSELF is a 3 rank talent. it's insane
that's insanely dumb
a lot of these should just be straight up 2 or rank talents
that would free up at least 6 points
LIterally just look at the shadow tree and sort of copy from them. they don't have a ton of insanely miniscule 3 rankers
TLDR: I really hope they consider dimisnihing the sheer amount of 2 rank talents Survival has. as they just aren'y fun
and it does make you feel gimped
most other classes can at least get to 2 of their final rows
a lot of them arent even interesting either
like, "increase pet damage by 5/10%" and "increase crit damage by 2/4/6%"
if thyere going to be that filler at least just make them one rank
Exactly!
like they're just plain boring
all the other classes don't hav nearly as many of those
Lmao
i think we are going to see a LOT of talent iteration pretty rapidly
because a lot of feedback is going to be about how 3 rank talents feel bad
yea I think it's gonna go well with feedback this time
and i think we are going to see them probably change all of those 3 rank talents to 2
and i imagine we will see new talents as well
remember, theres no reason they cant add more to the tree if they change 3 ranks to 2 and now you have free points
especially if people really want some old talents back
yeah I'm not complaining too much but criticism
something that peopel think I can't dish out
kek
i hope sooo
i think its very likely with how much people hate them
"we want every talent to feel impactful" - adds middle talents that literally dont feel impactful since they only unlock another rank of the same talent
the other option would be changing 3 rank talents so you only need 2 ranks in them to move past them, so that the 3rd rank is optional
but at that point they may as well remove the 3rd rank imo
agree
indeed
also this is something that we should do, you know valuable feedback on things
least imo
cause it isnt the crybaby "everything is shit" reply
Yelp and gamer review culture kinda slaughtered the concept of constructive criticism
But we can try
yup
Talents bad pog
The only forums they read are the US ones, and even that they read rarely, you'd have more luck tagging on them on twitter, funnily enough
wowhead says thursday
thats probably not true
why would they push so hard today if they were waiting until thursday
my bet is monday or tuesday
Must admit I am confused by the hunter talent tree.
I'm wondering what the lack of choice nodes in all rogue trees means :3c
they couldnt come up with any choices is the fastest answer, but im sure people in here would say "they're still work in progress"
might just be the rogue designers philosophy
where because rogue fantasy is all about a loadout in a way
picking all your tricks
they decided to go wide and not use choice nodes
there's a cool BM execute build
that dips in to a lot of the zoo stuff
outlaw gets 2 talents that increase attack range
lol
Idk if this the right place to ask,so id not,i will delete.
Is wow gonna make combination of the regular war mode with the normal mode of pvp?
War Mode is the PvP mode, so not sure what you mean by that
no idea what you mean by this
there is no regular war mode or normal mode of PvP
war mode is just a thing that enables world PvP and gives you extra rewards for it, and all other PvP is instanced content, so they can't overlap by design
Outlaw will get to attack from 10yrs ? Let me see..
Where did you see for the attack range?
I see the one when blade furry is active..
other one is in the class tree
middle second third area around there
I see it. That's.. really strong.
I mean that they will combine it as one.
U knos, make someone with pvp on the dmae as ear mode on.
āļø
I understand.
Not even close to what I said m8
i was responding, not quoting what you said m8
however, i've been told from reliable sources that "the rogue and Dk tree is designed by someone directly connected to the top players and the other ones aren't. Scarrizard is the name of the guy he literally had dinner with Max from Limit last night. That's not happeneing across the board."
though i didnt ask for a source
I'm not sure what there is to combine, since PvP mode is war mode
Oh,okay.
Idk, I thought about the population on any sedver,u know,to...not make to have x population at war mode and z in pvp,but to have them together as one.
War Mode will shard you into maps that are populated by other people in war mode, even from other realms
Blending people in war mode and outside of war mode wouldn't work, because war mode also enables pvp stats and pvp talents, and that wouldn't be fair to people who aren't flagged or set up for pvp
@cunning fossil
3 covenant abilities at once rogue
lmao
Lmao wait what's the 3rd?
flagellation, sepsis and echoing reprimand
Wait only Subtley get Flaggelation?
Dang that sucks buuut
Now that I can build my Subtlety differently
Maybe I can do a different build
If it is possible to be less stealth reliant or something
there's potential for a really bursty build with echoing reprimand and flagellation though
since echoing means you can use less combo points as if they are more
also sepsis does nature damage and one of sub's talents makes your nature damage shadow
Remember that half of the reason the tree is designed is to improve the level up experience to have a skill point to spend on the tree when leveling up, so removing nodes plays against it a bit
Fair but un general 3 rangers suck
Especially if there are TONS of them in a row
You want something new
Like just imagine it's 3 levels where u just choose the same thing thruce
If you want to look at it in another way, if everything is special, nothing is special lol.
I get what you mean, but I'd probably do the same given that we always have limited resources. However, to make it appear less stagnant, we could probably grow the tree to be one single path to a node down for those multi point nodes to appear that we're traversing continuously. That would make a pretty tall tree that may need to be scrolled down
Personally I would just remove some of the 3 rank stuff and make them 2 rank
Maybe joy ALL of them
But enough to give us just a 3-4 more points to put anywhere else
Like right now just to play SV as u have it RN, you have to put all of your points into it. You get 0 new toys
Which honestly kind of sucks
Like just look at the shadow or Disc priest trees
Those are way better made, and much more unique
SV has at least 8 3 rank talents across the entire tree
The others have like 4 or 5
I don't know about all specs, but the way I can explain what's happening is that not all specs have a core (player perceived or otherwise) number of abilities that are equal. So the classes that used to have a lot of buttons will feel that they have less leeway than the simple 5 button classes
I do feel like the rogue trees are too separated in some ways
Since now everyone follow the same core rule of 70 points, all used to get abilities
they very much follow the trident style of tree
To be fair I kind of like the apprach
You can reliable get to 2 of the last tier of talwnts
Thanks men for the information, helped meš
with alpha around the corner, what does it mean for the classes that haven't been revealed yet? š¤
it just means they'll get revealed through the course of alpha as usual
as development continues, more talent previews will be released and then added to builds
we didn't have all classes available at the start of shadowlands alpha did we?
with the trees we have now, it kind of fills all the at a glance niches in the game
we have physical damage dealers, both melee, tank and ranged, triple DPS classes (melee and ranged), healer/dps caster classes, plate, leather, cloth, mail, full hybrid with druid
so if they went live with the current classes they'd be covering a lot more of the design space in terms of testing than if they went live with only say, warrior, paladin, DK, mage and warlock
or somesuch
I hope holy paladin has something leaning into glimmer focus š¤
Fair. I kind of hope holy paladin gets a dps build.
Mistweaver too
I don't even really play paladin but I hope that the venthyr ability is gone
because I didn't like that really
Whaaaah
I really liked it personally
It just looks cool
I could see it being converted to a holy spell and basically being MEGA concecration
Like call it Sanctify
a sin
Kek
covenants should have been 1 of 2
instead of choosing 1 of 4
and then each class gets a different 2 to choose from
less design time and means you actually have more reason to make more characters
like legion class campaign
Sounds pretty limiting imo but I get you
and each covenant ability is more deep
if anything it's freeing
since they don't have to worry about thinking of a warlock ability for nightfae
no I mean flavour wise
it's freeing
because it's like
a limitation that in reality opens up the design avenues for each ability
because they aren't being constrained by the other abilities
But if you wanted to be a Necrolord Priest and it isn't one of your 2 choices, you feel bad
Because you wanna be a bony priest for a bit
yeah but at the same time
kyrian shaman
what the fuck are the designers supposed to do with that
in terms of flavour
shaman is a tough one regardless for this xpac
but kyrian shaman is flavour wise very distant
Again to each their own
kyrian shamans ability is kind of fine
because it's just set it and forget it
more numbers
even if it is jank
but it has 0 interaction
and flavour wise shamans don't feel at place in kyrian land
because shamans have all their ancestral spirit stuff and that lore is kind of at odds with the kyrians anyway
and ofc there's night fae warlock/DK
venthyr paladin
necrolord monk
necrolord druid
etc
where the covenant fantasy is at odds with some of the classes core themes
Necrolord Druid makes sense
eeeh
If you want to go towards the "Rotting Druid" idea
yeah but then we only get 1 ability
I get the idea but
having 1 ability doesn't complete the fantasy
Venthyr Paladin is just being a Retribution Paladin that is a bit more
Uhm
Morally ambiguous
Lol
I mean the venthyr literally burn at the light
their whole history is related to being at odds with the light
yet a paladin walks in and they're like
"nice very cool"
this system is why my bet for DF was actually going to be restricted dragonflight covenants
the bet was wrong
but
I was imagining like mages can choose blue or bronze
warriors red or black
DK blue or black
priest bronze or red
druid red or green
etc
Right rigght
I really wanted to like Shadowlands, and I held out hope for so long that the expansion could be good but after the Sanctum of Domination ending I just gave up
The jailer had so much potential to be a good villain but at every single turn the writers just made his character worse and worse
The covenants had potential to be cool, but they clashed so hard with class identity that the end product was just that Shadowlands didnāt feel like WoW.
At the very least I do hope Blizz tries to replicate the good parts of covenants in DF with the reputations. As Saint said, it could be cool if Warriors could get some unique cosmetic from the Black or Red Dragonflights, or Druids could get something from the green.
Maybe thatās more of a mage tower/challenge kinda thing though
thats because they never bothered to give him any motivation for why he hated the other covenant leaders or why he wanted to break free
they never explained the backstory of the arbiter
or why the jailer was the arbiter? and because the jailer?
they decided to ignore the character making the entire story irrelevant as a result
it wasnt just bad story telling it was the worst villain in wow history - which is damning because thats the thing theyve always been good at - writing a big bad
hell, they didnt even give him a monologue
its like they saw it failing and decided to back out on having him effect existing story threads in order to save them for later
he just kind of ran around doing his thing
taking W's then leaving
ignoring us until the end pretty much
We must have played different games, because they definitely explained how and why they made her after imprisoning Zovaal
I think it's moreso that he wasn't an active role in his own backstory
like we just heard about him from before
And Zovaal's crime was rebellion and attempting to alter the creations and designs of the First Ones. He was just the Eternal One who was designed to be arbiter--nobody is questioning why the Primus was the Primus
but it's never explained beyond a simple "oh that was what was before but now it's this"
there is a certain element of the jailer that I do like though even if it kind of made his story suffer
that being his sole mindedness and just not caring about us
even if it was just a thanos ripoff in a ways
just portalling everywhere collecting things and easily disarming anyone in the way
also back onto the talent trees, they said in this tweet
https://twitter.com/Warcraft/status/1545498104430034952
"this week features hunter and rogue"
implying they're aiming for weekly releases now?
im more talking about how they waited 2 patches to explain ANY motivation
so instead of being mysterious it was just nonsensical
They waited a year and a half to make a book come out(not even ingame)
To give his motivations
Honestly, I don't think it's every big bad's responsibility to give us exposition especially when they see us as irrelevant ants. Yeah, sure, we want to know more, but we don't always need to
Sometimes someone wants to set us up the bomb just because they want our base to belong to them
Yeah but for the sake of a good story it would probably be best to tell the players what the heck is going on
I mean it doesn't even have to be him
we had to find a way around his domination magic after he left torghast
and all those soul gems are still in there from frostmourne
as well as freeing the primus
but no all we needed was the shiny uncommon looking ass helmet to power us up and not even be used in the fight
instead of a questline of us trying to find evidence and uncovering the past about him to help us fight him now
Denathrius is still out and about, and he could have been gaslighting Zovaal since he was the Arbiter--we don't know
I mean my take is that domination magic makes you worse as a person, see sylvanas, anduin, arthas, etc
they literally say it feels like part of you is gone
so zovaal being a good guy originally wouldn't be out of the question
and then being imprisoned made him evil
because domination removed his empathy/conscience
emotions
and just like arthas, he gets a moment of clarity when he dies
when the grip goes away
and we realize his motivation might have actually been good
just corrupted
It could go a lot of ways, but I feel like gamer opinions are gonna go full "FIRE BAD, SHADOWLANDS BAD, BLIZZ BAAAAD" at the drop of the hat whether or not they're given the information or not
The idea I kinda had and hoped they had gone for is Zovaal losing his sanity out of loneliness. They couldāve gone more into āThe Purposeā and explained how perhaps the First Ones made them, and then left. Zovaalās only purpose was to judge souls by seeing their lives while never giving having a life of his own.
Then, out of desperation goes to the other covenants to use their keys and unlock the gate into Zereth Mortis to find out where the First Ones had gone.
I mean we actually ended up doing part of zovaals original intent it appears
since we've removed the stigma surrounding not following 'the purpose'
broken the stale culture of the shadowlands
We did make the covenants better with our involvement
Although, his goal was more the domination and reordering of everything
I beg to differ
Not really "fixing it" as much as "dominating it"
his goal became to dominate after he was dominated himself
You can, but his direct statements conflict
You're assuming he was dominated, he was just chained using domination magic
his original intent was a cosmos united
it's still domination magic to me
he's literally hollow
why would he want to dominate things at first if he just wanted a cosmos united
he was begging them to listen to him
but they cast him down
You're assuming a lot of things that didn't happen on-screen
and over millenia of being imprisoned by magic known to sap emotion he became bitter and then wanted to dominate stuff himself
not really
Alright
I'm going off of everything we've seen
Nvm then you do you queen
what part of this is assumption
This is just kinda the problem with Shadowlands in general. Thereās so much unexplained stuff going on that we just have to scrap together some semblance of a cohesive narrative
facts we know:
-Domination magic saps emotion in some form, and makes people worse
-He wanted a cosmos united
-He was asking his ''siblings' to listen to him, begging
the only time the jailer is humanized, was at his death during a flashback to pre domination
when he died he showed the most emotion, just like arthas's death
coming back to their senses as domination leaves their mind
To be fair.. being locked in a prison for millennia by your own family would probably make you a pretty bitter person domination or not
well yeah that too
but I do wonder why the domination magic saps emotion, if they'll delve into that
since primus made it
they won't unfortunately
l think blizz put less thought into the story than you do atm^^;
well to me if they want to do cosmological story, they need to have a big whiteboard room and pages explaining how everything should work behind the scenes even if we don't know
so I just want to try fill in the gaps we don't know hoping I'm right
in danger of sounding like Dafire, they just wanted big moments cashing off of tying him to the beloved stories of arthas etc
since they saw SL crashing, plus what was going on in the company with some people, they just literally called it "the end of this book"
and now we are moving on
They absolutely cut one more patch of SL and skipped straight to the end
The Jailer waited billions of years, got two seconds of freedom, and was then slapped down by the players
Now im becoming the boogeyman of sounding negative š
At the very least, Dragonflight should be a fresh start for the story. Hopefully.
I think tying to arthas only angered people, not anything else
oh absolutely but they thought it would get people hype
āHey guys look! Arthas! Jk he still dead deadā
How he died was also very ridiculous, he just turned into a broken bionicle
Not to say that we needed the titans help to beat argus, but we just beat the jailer with sticks and stones
if anything hopefully the remnants of the arthas story will influence jaina and how she interacts with kalec in DF
The power scaling is not a thing that exists anymore
since she'd probably be understandably shook by her experience
The cinematic with arthas was so disrespectful that sylvanas got to monologue about how he was so bad and she was completely pure and morally superior,
And everyone else didnt even get a word in
Not jaina, not uther, only sylvanas
yeah
šļø
Dont worry, they dont need her to ruin the lore of dragonflights,
Like they retconned 20years of lore including all chronicle books into being not only unreliable to irrelevant but objectively worse
Purely by the jailers existence
Watch them retcon the Tuskarr into being the first ones
āThe clues were there all along!ā
Anything can happen with Mr Danuser at the head
sry work, l think we won cause "our connection to azeroth
Iām still very curious who the heck is going to be the villain of DF. I mean Murozond could work, maybe some sort of elemental reincarnation of Galakrond?
in the fight we got super juiced so
Iām so sick of being a champion of Azeroth
anyways Jailer sucks
it's not bad on its own and can be done well
example ff14
||sylvanas will return in last patch of dragonflight to save us from galakrond and becomes a dragon||
but we'd actually need to be relevant
There is no visual indication of this, nor is it mentioned anywhere, outside of maybe 1 text
It is the most tenuos explanation
elementals are 1st tier, but they are followers of galakrond
but also, the elements aren't just fire, air, earth, water, etc
there is also the spirit element
iirc it happens during the fight and he was clearly surprised
tho my "Jailer lore" isn't quite accurate
cause tbh idc, l didnt like it one bit
so we might as well beat him with a unicorn shitting rainbows
When people say ",uuuhh but the jailer was only in the game for 1 expac"
They get slapped with some shadowbringers villains that were around for 1 patch only and were still more interesting and nuanced than the jailer
if galakrond was the primal incarnate of spirit, and azeroth in canon apparently absorbed too much spirit energy hence why the elements were always out of balance
p much
that could be an interesting plot I suppose
also idk how I feel about murozond being big bad
l like the ideas they hint at so far
he doesn't 'feel' like a big bad in some ways
Also infinite flight and as you say galakrond
also if he was the big bad to me that implies some setup into the next xpansion because of murozond, which could be light invasion but
l dont think he'll be big bad
infinite dragon flight are related to the old gods or more directly the void
yea thats what I was thinking of it leading to
as bronze magic seems to be tied to the light as well
making muru more of a tool than big bad
if we get Jailer 2.0 but void l will pop a vein tho
is if light does invade
yrel
etc
they wouldn't just appear on azeroth, they would pop out on draenor, outland
revamp outland
holyfire peninsula
yea that was atleast setup, forces of "insert cosmology chart" not being just good or bad
outland done in HD and with even more alien forces intermingling with it would be crazy
shattrath having to throw out its naaru
Also
he appears to be getting old
he IS old xd
He had that really weird dialogue with Jaina though right
yeah
Like sort of implying he was dying
it sounded like he thought he was going to die soon
oh
time works different in places like the twisting nether too
guess l missed that
so some were saying maybe he's been going around the cosmos
Man l am rusty on lore stuff
Jainas bedroom?
and he's seen something he shouldn't have and it's taken a toll on him
I wonder if maybe he might drive Nozdormu to become Murozond
idk how that'll work
I'm thinking that blood elf might be part of it
because it's such a perfect on paper setup for a time travel plot like that
where you know somethings coming, expecting it to be big and obvious
but at the last second some tiny detail that's been there for ages is the cause
Thereās also the Deaths of Chromie
yes
it was masterminded by a dreadlord
so good potential there
to be expanded
but yeah
nozdormu wants to pass his bronze aspect status to chromie
tbh only thing l wanna see again from SL is Denathrius
but at the last second, that belf does something
fucks things up
and nozdormu goes mad
becomes murozond
so dreadlords are fine
it's funny they're keeping him on
the new HS expansion is about him
probably so they can give him something to do while they figure out when to get him off the shelf
but yeah deaths of chromie was tied to dragonflight shrines
and had a dreadlord
and the deaths of chromie places you go
mount hyjal, to fight elementals
culling of stratholme, where death and dreadlords were
well of eternity, where the sundering happened and caused the dragon isles to be hidden
andorhal, a place known for faction fighting and scourge influence
so there's definetly some lore they could pull to link the shadowlands dreadlord plot to dragonflight lore
even more than the fact it was plotted by a dreadlord and involves a dragon
l'd guess that's later patches if so
and main problems gonna really focus strictly on the dragons and dragon isles
to keep things simple
l hope l get alpha key tho
l wanna test the new stuff
oh yea not gonna happen
l am aware, it's still nice to think about tho
Not sure if this is where to post but thought those familiar with PTR might be able to help me out. I wanted to test out some of the new dungeons for next season on the ptr. I had read you would be able to pick the key and level to test whatever you want. But, when I copied my character over she had the same key as she has in the live game. I copied a level 60 that had no key and there was still no option to get a key. Was just hoping someone might know how that works on ptr. Thanks for any help. š
pretty sure none of that is currently enabled
if it is, there should be an npc or two in oribos near the great vault who can give you keys and such
The guy at the vault was only able to lower the key that came with me.
Maybe Iām ahead of things.
I had seen it in a video where they were going over one of the new dungeons coming. Maybe I misunderstood.
Iām this case we definitely did, especially since we spent the entire xpac partying with the people who literally imprisoned him lol
And not only that, in the necrolord campaign the PC literally picks up a book about the Jailerās trial
And we just donāt read it lol
The information about the Jailer was kept from us solely for the sake of a reveal, not due to any logical plot reason
We should have learned the truth about the maw basically the moment we got to Kyrestia and convinced her of the threat
The eternal ones and Bolvar just had to hold the idiot ball all xpac instead, so that the Jailer could seem smart by proxy
"the shadowlands story in a nutshell" is another great video by captaingrim that evidences the faults of the story, only 5mins long too!
It might not be the big bad character's responsibility to give us exposition or some story reasoning but it definitely is Blizzard the real world company's.
I guess they can really do whatever they want since it is their game š¤·
and we can do whatever we want as well, since its our money
I mean yeah, they can do whatever they want, and people can in turn call it out as fundamentally bad storytelling lol
Half of BfA and Shadowlands' issues arent even the stories themselves, it's how colossally bad the stories are actually delivered to the audience
a story like Shadowlands could turn out fine if it wasnt so disjointed and rushed
I thought they mistepped by taking us into the afterlife period
The power creep of story elements is just too high
I think the premises of both BfA and Shadowlands are inherently flawed and shouldn't have happened t o begin with, but you can make a flawed premise work so long as you deliver it in a satisfying and cohesive manner
an audience member can walk away from it thinking "I dont like that we did this, but I understand why for the greater narrative", which isnt something I really feel about either expansion
or "i dont like that we did this, but it was really fokin cool in the end" or "it was more interesting than what i had in mind" etc etc
new trees this week
Nani
Excited
Ngl kinda disappint by hunter a little bit. But if they could just lower the amount kf 3 rank talents we had that'd be great
I guess it is easier to make stuff for hybrid classes since they want to do other things than just damage
But like
At least give us some different play styles :(
let's hope it's today
i was just looking into a MM pet build
where you take the kill command last talent on the left
in class tree
if that works as a focus generator then it could be interesting
or if it doesn't cost any focus
maybe new talents today
That could be a interesting hybrid build.
Sharpshooter but still with a pet.
The pet survival one could be interesting too (as I am not too fond of the bomb and mechanic part of survival)
Ayo
Ooh interesting
yeah especially since you can make MM very focused on killshot/aimed shot and not focus on rapid fire much at all
and then you'd get your pet and kill command to do filler damage
depends on how it all works ingame but
That's interesting
Might even try that
If Killcommand restores focus, it could be very fun
I 've been trying to get a built that doesn't even have rapid fire on bars
To see how it feels
Yes, good flexibility to allow multiple way to play the same spec is really nice.
I'm hoping that shaman will be one of the ultimate versions of this
wonder if we'll see any of the covenant abilities in the shaman trees
since I feel they never really became core parts of their specs
Prayge for elemental blast to be available to resto
Such a dope ability
Or improved chain lighting like ele has
that actually might happen
since elemental blast is available to enhance and ele
it might be in the class tree
They gotta give us some aoe
Bring back totem mastery pls
If we donāt have vesper or golem
Got, I loved totem mastery
I'm still praying for 2h enhance
Was so annoyed when it got cut
in the same way 2h frost exists
make it baseline then have a talent that makes the build shine
Pov classic enhance sham one tapping with windfury sulfuras
I mean they could even do the thing of only allowing 1 enchant to it but it doubles that ones effectivness
so if you wanted you could either do a 2H windfury proc build for auto attacks
or a 2H fire damage sulfuras proc idea build
hitting hard or hitting loads
kyrian ability will be for sure in the paladin trees somewhere
hope the venthyr one isn't though
The venth ability could just be a better rank of lights hammer
So bigger and more damage and healing but not a huge 4 min
dragonflight when
nov 22nd
never
KEk
but seriously alpha this week and it'll probably go similarly to how the WOTLK beta went perhaps>?
prepatch on nov 22nd MAYBE
inb4 he goes on about a pre-pre-patch
Axel lmao
Back during Shadowlands pre-patch, yeah
lmao
not pre patch, expansion release
I doubt it
but I want to know why you think expac releases nov 22
Does anyone know where you can get keys on ptr to test m+? Saw some streamers playing keys yesterday
Especially considering that the shop page still says December 31st
he's going off the OG release of WoW being Nov 23rd and the 22nd is the closest tuesday, while i BELIEVE this is when blizzard wants to do, idk if they will be able to pull it off. i firmly believe they do want this and its the reason why we got the "on or before Dec 31st" date because they didn't want to over promise by setting a firm date in Nov and then having to push it back a month
they also set "before or on dec 31st" for SL and it released nov 23rd
yeah but shadowlands initially was going to release earlier
the first set date was october I think
and then they pushed it back
yes
the point was that SL had a "on or before dec 31st" the entire time
oh
BUT SRSLY
OMG
I CANT WAIT
right after I just posted it š
why they so thin i want to make one that look like this
pretty much solved all my issues with the dracthyr form just with this lol
I hope they iterate on the visage forms more but this helps so much
ofc the male one had to be a belf body š
Same
because it's bespoke it fits well
sadly you're forced to for dragonriding
Aw, really? It's not like worgen on mounts?
That's legit disappointing
looks like they added more armor compatbility with drakthyr
Nope, they said that while dracthyr cna use the base dragonriding in their dracthyr form, they cant use any of the perks
I know that's what he meant
oh
well I think because of all the reaction they might actually full delve into giving their dracthyr form a proper full rig
so to do dragonriding effectively, you have to use the mounts, and they said you specifically can only ride them as visage form
thats fine but i dont wanna be it 24/7
theres way more armor variety there - i imagine some of it is through barbershop but thats still something
e
ye
@uncut vault i have no problem being visage but i meant combat and in general wise without the system i want to only be drathyr
they added 4 different body options
the armor source is gonna be interesting, that'll be a lot if it's just there on the creation screen
I wonder if they did that just to avoid clipping
if they fill the rig's animations out which is what they implied when they said they want to add more classes to them
that 4th one is actually decently bulky
then maybe in future they can ride mounts in dracthyr form

their official answer was "its weird to have a dragon riding a dragon", but wing clipping is probably the real answer lol
the issue atm is that they use the metamorphosis DH rig
im sad u cant use ur wings as drathyr as a mount to fly
I think
Nah theyve got a unique one
which isn't animation complete so far
the only existing model that fully shares their skeleton is the new incubus
you sure?
yep, DH is way different
DH metamorph looks exactly the same
Scalies rejoice
only similarity whatsoever is that they both have wings and digitigrade legs
they might also share a skeleton with the female dreadlords
and dreadlords share rigging with the DH meta
the men do
and the female
the women are a different rig, they just have the same animations developed for both at the same time
here
they use female meta rig specifically
the male one is just similarly styled
I mean dracthyr
female meta rig = female dreadlord = dracthyr
same rig
at least that's what everything I've seen points towards
if we can pull up the video clips of dracthyr we can match it
the body options are nice, but idk im kinda still dissatisfied,
they made them fatter with each body option rather than bulkier, and the head stays the same size, so at max body you have tiny head and big body which is justt funny
but hey, ppl that liked them before, will like them now
The horn designs are immaculate though.
anyone else want glasses to be a mog option on them? š¤
yes
Why would Deathwing artificially create a race with bad eyesight?
was that sarcasm or real
i cant tell
you can become blind throughout living ur life or get injured or something

They aren't perfect either
why have glasses at all when you could just cast dispel on your eyes
Except thralls eyebrows
And Deathwing's chin.
i hope we get deathwings metal chin as optiontho
fr
or something of the sorts
of metal
The weight of such chin, it must be mine.
its metal so to me its hot
A change has already been made to no longer have Serpent Sting be the only path to Explosive Shot.
damn that was quick
we're not even play testing it yet
usually it takes like 2 months
Eyesight even isn't a problem if you have magic like them.
some people wear glasses just for style
also really? thats neat
I know that make them cute, still... š
pretty much every single tree needs this kind of changes, not just hunter,
interesting that hunter was first tho
it was an internal change actually
they did it BEFORE the person commented
yeah! on the ballwith it
Damn, the devs actually taking feedback from their own team
Thats a first
while true, the fact they made it even before the suggestion came shows that they are more willing to fiddle with things earlier than try to make some sort of wierd pixel perfect move
Either way, Ranged survival baby
i will be playing alot of hybrid DPS I hav e afeeling
that support shadow build though
:bite_lip:
Its all easy when its custom fitted gear,
I want to see some legion mail gear on those models and see how they handle clipping
pretty sure that helmet isnt custom fitted
horns are going straight through
but im also fairly certain it isnt done
so there's a summit happening; this most likely means datamining is not going to be today and might just be thursday like rumored.
@ivory meadowwhat's that
community event where blizzard flies content creators and streamers out to test content.
@ivory meadowis that like a private thing?
the people there will be under NDA and such, but it won't be long in this instance in terms being able to talk about some things they tested over there.
usually a summit just has a disclosure date a few days later so that everyone who was there has time to get all their videos ready and so no one has an advantage
breaking those is how you get banned from any future ones and usually how you get removed from the alpha/beta streamer list which is a good way to lose a ton of money
so people dont break them
no dataminable build until thursday
O.o
unless there's a way of anonymously breaking it xd
I am reminded though that something just like this happened right before SL alpha started.
it is weird
pulling back the curtain and being really into a game
kind of spoils some of the fun of surprise reveals
since you become hyper aware of all the patterns and inner workings
probably why I loved elden ring so much, my first proper souls game and I went in blind without even watching any videos on it prior
or at least part of the reason
yea I know that feel, aside from systems I atleast want to try to keep story and such unspoiled for DF
would definitely help a crapton if everything wasn't datamined before the game even came out
datamining can start earlier than the game is playable
it could be tomorrow with servers going up on Thursday
well theyve already changed how and what they encrypt - thats why a bunch of the 9.2.5 story stuff didnt come out until at least one person had gotten to it
yea I liked that
they've been not encrypting much until then, because wowhead is free publicity, and also "builds hype" (or at least it should do that)
not because they werent able to encrypt more things
well he didnt say they werent able to, just that they changed their way of what they choose to encrypt
Iām a little late but omg those Dracthyr customizations
thats a big assumption. There was a lot of discussion about this on the wow trace discord (new wow.tools eventually) - it more boils down to; devs didnt want to make dataminers angry so they wanted their thoughts on what shouldnt and shouldnt be encrypted and the general consensus was that if it isnt story spoilers, it doesnt need to be encrypted but if its story spoilers, even dialogue, it does and it needs to be encrypted until people do it, and not unlocked by a hotfix key until much later than previously
Even the bracers seem to be a different mesh than the body, so that's pretty cool. Though the blue one seems to not have any geometry faces under on its model lol
Holy crap
Ngl I sort of expected them to just drop like 6 variations per customization option
But this is insane
What I like most about it is that it should really help make them be more unique, despite only being one race and class
really just loving all the customization options
we really got a rainbow of dragons lol
Gimme dem storm drake options I'm lovin em
that dark blue next to the light blue... omg its so nice
ngl i thought i would hate the 4th body option but the more i look at it the more it warms up to me
its just got so much shape
wuld like if we got an option to be short tho
yea, i guess thats for another time
80 OCTILLION combinations? o_O
wjat
Customization combinations for Dracthyr
yea but theres not 80 bil
Between Horn Options, Snout Options, Body Size Options, Scale Color Options, Spikey Body Options and possibly eye options.. And that's not even counting the stuff their humanoid forms get
This legit might be one of the few races where you'll rarely ever see someone that looks exactly like you
yea
I wonder how many combos existing races have like Highmountain Tauren
we just went through almost half of the classes in the game besides evoker.
that's enough for an initial release.
for those that got their mains released
I see monk mains being worried because they cite a history of being forgotten
or left till the very end
I'm talking from a purely information point of view.
that does not invalidate any class' opinion that they feel left behind or being the last in the bunch.
also some of the armor is almost definitely customization stuff
i imagine itll be pretty infrequent that someone has the same dragon form and im gonna guess no one will ever look exactly the same across both forms
im so excited to play, i really hope i get alpha, if not then i hope i get in beta
Lol
Based on what we know so far
15 colours * 4 builds * 17 horns * 6 outfits * 10~ scales = 61200~ combinations
Stuff like nose and eye colour probably can be changed. Also horn/claw colours (they are tied), face wings/ears, tail
you can easly add 10 eyes 2 genders
a lot lot more than a billion, 19zeroes more than a billion im doing the math and their claim is most likely BS and exaggerated,
assuming you can only have 5 customization options active at a time like stated here,
to have 19billion combinations( 18 zeroes less than the number given)
you'd need to have a total of 300 different total customization
even assumin the same amount ^, but you can use the same customization more than once, that only bumps it up to 20B, not their number
you'd need 1000 total customization(with repetition) over 5 slots, to reach 8thousand Billions (16 zeroes less than their number)
even assuming 1000 total customization(with repetition) over 10 slots (colour, build, horn, outfit, scales, nose, eye color, horn/claw, facewings, ears, tails)
that's still 6zeroes less than their number
even splitting horns and claw separately (so 11 slots), that's still 4 zeroes less than their number
@strange falcon visage form
Yeah that number in the tweet is very high. We'll have the exact number soon lol
Maybe they counting both
just on the face alone theres jaw shape, jaw additions, jowl additions, ears, horns, horn color, lower eyes, upper eyes, eye color, eye type, nose shape, face markings, frontal neck additions, back neck additions
and on the body, scales are customized in three separate categories with lower arm, torso, and legs, alongside 3d options on the shoulders
of which you can choose different colors than your base character skin tone
the number's definitely accurate haha
not even mentioning we havent seen the full extent of tail customization, which seems to be separated into tip, tail, and pattern
ĀÆ_(ć)_/ĀÆ
All in all, it seems like this race has like
THE MOST customizable race ever in WoW with the addition of body types
I hope we get more body types too
Iād love for people to get their bulky bois and for those that want curvy shapes for their more feminine dragons
this definitely opens up a good window for minor body changes at least, that can fit inside existing skeletal limitations
I really do hope the devs consider adding more customization for the rest of the races too
like, I'd love to get a female blood elf with literally any semblance of meat on her arms lol
oh I also forgot to mention horn jewelry, so thats another layer on top of it all lol
Oh yea thereās jewelry too!
They really outdid themselves with this race
Iām 100% gonna spend hours trying to decide my dracthyr looks
i've not seen people talking about their neck options
the back of it
it's very cool
you can also have nose horn as an option
there's a shitton of easy to overlook options ye
not enough talk about the stripe options
zamn
im so excited i really hope i get into alpha but if not i can hopefully live vicariously through content creators
the more i look at it the more i see that you can change the colors of the scale stripes
some of these are reused and in different colors
I do wonder what the most common dracthyr look will be though
Black and red?
With the biggest edgy horns that aren't curled
Probably black due to the lore, and red due to the DPS spec
Plus it seems red has the most colors
I'll Probably try go for a chromatic look
Surely black and red, yes.
Need to see how the custom will play out, but will be black/purple, or white/yellow/purple, for me.
I still think it's funny that people are saving character names that use the dragon naming rules without knowing how the dracthyr actually name themselves
Flowerpicker is a canon orc surname/tribe
Amazing
I have so many names already with the āthyrā suffix but I only reserved one of them
The rest have a whole different set of names
I think it funnny too.
Imagine if we just meet a drakthyr named bobby
Not Bobogos or anything
Just bobby
I mean, the pre-order pet's name is Drakks which already doesn't follow dragon naming conventions
I'm guessing it'll be gutteral, with harsh consonants and high vowel sounds
Bun'gus
Amungos
Lol
I don't get the rush with making Drakthyr other classes
Like why would someone who has access to Dragon Magic want to just go "nah. I want a big axe" when they were PROGRAMMED to just be an eviker
They also have been trapped underground for thousands of years dormant
They would have to
- Integrate into society
- Learn Classes and have a feel for which ones they might want to do
Also EXACTLY TIRI
This. And Blizz already said theyāre looking at adding classes over time
It's so frustrating people screeching about wanting Warriors and stuff without acknowledging yhat they're not just some race that was active ij the world
They were literally doing
NOTHINT
THEY JUST WOKE UP
Why would they want to swing a sword???
Instead of using their own magic that they were built with
"But I waaaaaant it"
evokers are dracthyr and dracthyr are evokers
For now Iām totally cool with just having Evokers. Iāve wanted a dragon related class for a very long time, hence why I play a warrior because of the Valarjar stuff. Now we finally got that so I canāt really complain
if they'd just packaged them as a class with custom starting zone and customisations like DH nobody would have batted an eye
however I like this
and I like the idea of a visage form too
because I just realized they can now add naga in the same way
give the naga an 'elf' form
but then give them a ton of bespoke customisation options
if they were to ever add them
This is basically the justification.
That's all they got
that being said I do think it's because people feel it would be cool to play a dragon warrior
I understand people think it is restrictive but it's restrictive for a reaosm
and no not the pandaren kind
And not even FOREVER
God forbid you point out the entitlement without getting called a boomer, though
Eventually there WILL be Drak warriors
And hen they do happen, they'll think they've "won" somehow
but they'll still complain
Like no bro thus was always the plan, you're just impatient as fuck
Kek
Gamers are the worst thing about gaming
it's why I feel that if blizzard ever want to poll the community on something
do it ingame
please
don't do it on the forums
when I log in give me a popup for the vote
I wonder if the lore will actually be there are loads of dracthyr locked in a vault
or if it'll be like "yeah neltharion made a few dozen"
and then there's like a million ingame
It's really impossible to please everyone, especially when they all have opinions and personal headcanons on how things should be
Some people really need to learn how to accept compromise
can't wait for dracthyr priests to go in void form and levitate without even using their wings
