Faol is one of the even few undead who isn't hurt by the Light when casting it, and that made Turalyon cry because he saw in this way that no, all forsakens were not forsaken by the Light nor monstruosity, and that their mentor was still here, with his whole heart.
For the majority of undead, holy cast is just hurtful, but possible. Some quests even talk about how undead priest need to learn a bit of the holy powers before using the shadowy ones.

Ok so basically.
WoW excels and SHOULD excel in small stories that helps build up a world and make the major storyline of a zone. It has never ever relied on the big overarching story.
Let's look at the expansion.
Vanilla: just questing through the world, learning about charactera and their people who how everyone interacted. Some became fan favorites and such.
BC: This may be a stretch but this is more so focused on the many faces un Outland. The Broken, The pure orcs, etc. And Illidan was a major character because we ll like him as a CHARACTER and he was awesome to see him again.
WOTLK: Arthas, one of the biggest characters in Warcraft, got an expansion. But not only that, you got to see his story. It wasn't all about taking down the lich king. It was learning about the man behind the crown and by learning his past, we could stop hun in the present.
Cataclysm: a few different storylines,, all of them old god/titan related of course. Each zone wasn't just about deathwing, it was still about the people in the land itself.
MOP: one of the best Expacs in term of story. Why? Because it didn't take itself too seriously but it also provided a good balance between seriousness and more goofy stuff and many of the characters you met were cool. Like Chen.
The expansion after that seem to progressively move away from characters who slowly make up a story into the story having the characters as cool props
And that's why they got worse IMO
That's why I think WoW can and should have quests relating on the people being people
It's unbelievable that one character move from one tragedy to the next and not react in a believable way at all
Th a t is my opinion of course
WoW has a place for love stories, as it does have a place for action stories, tragedy, etc.
