makes sense
gotta make the new areas look different
and gotta make the new 2 floor capstone look cool
no music yet
tons of ogg files
lots of empty voice files are no longer empty
so far im finding ones for the odyn storyline stuff in the maw
seems like a majority of the new campaign should be voiced now
whats ogg?
type of sound file
handles compression better than an mp3
looks like the campaign chapters were either renamed or removed
adventure journal is updated
Servers are up btw
bunch of new torghast achievements related to beating layer 12 and unlocking the new research stuff
Achieve a Flawless run on layer 12 in each wing of Torghast, Tower of the Damned. Flawless Master Mount Reward: Mawsworn Charger
new mount from beating every wing on layer 12
"Discover the hidden treasures of Korthia and Desmotaeron. Treasures of Korthia "
campaign chapters are merged into the original campaign, it seems? Night fae is now 18 steps for me
looks like treasure will be in the new zone/area now
there already was some but it mostly didn't work
there's a weekly quest for Tormentor of Torghast
looks like there will be nathrezim in torghast
"9.1 Torghast - Kill All Dreadlords"
there already are in the adamant vaults, they hide as basic enemies
Initially they're named/look like a regular enemy, but they're elite and/or rare
when you engage they turn into dreadlord
it missed the first one
first wing is "The Jailer's Vanguard"
shit ton of changes to renown rewards
at least in the db2s
renown still isn't active in game, it seems
oh cool
think the quiver back will be a quiver for non-hunters too?
would be a bit weird
well it does still have stats, just the effect only works for hunters
but based on the journal, it will only drop for hunters
only shows up in her loot pool when you have hunter toggled
ah
PTR Update just began
Lol. It doesn't even drop 195 gear
Doesn't really seem to be much new open
XD
Oh, wait Nathria also drops 213 loot? Oh, I thought it would stay the same and future raids would drop higher and higher loot.
That's heroic nathria
Keep in mind that most people that do lfr won't do nathria
At all
So LFR Nathria drops 213 loot now? (in 9.1)
Most catchup gear starts at ~200
No
Learn to read
Heroic nathria will drop 213 even in the next expansion (unless they do a squish)
oof, they put in the season maximum for tower knowledge
My question is Why is LFR Nathria requiring 195 loot when it drops 187 loot?
That was jn tje last build
Who even mentioned nathria
MrPeach just did
Oh. I thought it was for Nathria
It wasn't clear where his mouse was, so I assumed it was Nathria.
@wise peak flagged peach for spam, he's unable to speak until we resolve this issue
Bad bot
Why, we're in the ptr chat. Obviously we are talking about 9.1 content
Yeah, but I was being dumb and assumed from the image that the Nathria requirements had changed
By the way, I think the only thing this week is the class changes, PVP changes, and some new Dailies.
<@&299347348847329281> can we get @dense plover unmuted?
the only thing im interested about 👀
We are aware of this. Check #premium-only
Ooooh, so her bow is Leggo quality?
this is how you find out about the box
first wing i ran
also i only have 1 torment but its layer 6
might be b/c no box?
i see it like that on the appearence section of bows but not the adventure guide but i really really hope so
It's been a really long time since Blizz had class specific leggos dropping from a boss ala Illidan in BT/kiljaedin SWP.
i find interesting that the mythics 0 drop 210 gear
Are Mythic 0s being scaled higher?
yes all dungeons are
just doing a wing and a normal enemy was a dreadlord
I mean 210 gear then makes sense because on 9.0 it's 184 for +0 and 187 for LFR
COOL!
they matched the elite set to the bow, looks like Im PvPing this patch 😛
streak bar freezes on shop floors
inb4 they cancel it last minute
is this a new memory or an existing one?
I think existing but maybe modified
The score definitely seems easier
I just trivially got a flawless layer 12
the shoplifter "Blessing" is fucking terrible though
makes the brokers hostile but give "rewards"
you get like 4 random armaments, and a few random consumables
this power is new and is amazing
it's actually awful with the current implementation
because it clears your targeting
adamant vaults is now layer 9 or above
I kept missing fear interupts because of it
not sure this was datamined or not
this is definitely new and i assume only works once per run?
I think so
can't get enough experience for it right now
I assume the ranks add 10/20/30 drop it
Stable Phantasma Lure - https://ptr.wowhead.com/spell=339351/stable-phantasma-lure - PTR 9.1.0
[Puzzling cryptogram]
Puzzling Cryptogram - https://ptr.wowhead.com/item=180803/puzzling-cryptogram - PTR 9.1.0
oh neat
also not new
yeah
but theres a lot of maw lore
it dropped from random maws in the assaults
pretty much the source of all maw lore
i think it drops in the zone - if ardenweald hostiles suddenly started spawning in the maw, it would drop from them too
god i just love this guy
oh
oops
i got oneshot while trying to get to the spear
interesting
crashed while turning in the maw lore
@dense plover Assuming they meant every 10th enemy?
Or is it literally the 10th enemy?
hopefully?
for a near endgame tower talent, if its only once, its trash
i assume its every 10th
and then the upgrades are probably 9th and 8th
if its every, its VERY powerful and will make runs much easier
Might argue every 10th may also be a bit much but yeah if it's "the" 10th it feels rather arbitrary (why 10th exactly?) and underwhelming
oh yeah
thats - very frequent
probably should be 16 -> 14 -> 12
depends on the cost per level i guess
Ah Rakrath says it's only the 10th, 2/3 is the 10th and the 20th, and 3/3 is 10th, 20th and 30th enemy
ah
thats still terrible
like, 3 extra cells per run is kinda shit
especially that late in the tree
if they were guaranteed to be uncommon or higher rarity, it might be decent
but 3 extra cells at max level tree is sorta pointless
every 10th would be insanely powerful
3 extra cells near the start of the run isn't bad
assuming you don't get the trap floor and then one of the emptyish floors
I saw that, no sign of Maelie so far
the quest on Mynx seems to block accessing the faction vendor
I wanted to see if there was anything new, but no
Wouldn't that be "grateful" intead of "greatful" ?
found a way to upgrade maw touched gear
slightly higher than normal raid drops from KT/sylvanas
whats that currency?
unknown
something with vault of secrets that im pretty sure still isnt implemented
its related to those maw rifts as well
i datamined some broadcast text
Obviously, or I would not be here helping you now. <The Stonewright arches a brow.> I suppose you wish to know how I ended up in Revendreth?
After I was granted Elune's dark gift, I fed my rage with my losses and then with my victories. I protected my people. I killed the ones who harmed us. Then their allies. Then ones who hadn't stopped our enemies, or who stood by. Then the ones I thought hadn't acted quickly enough. And so on... I erased whole societies from the world, and left nothing but ruins in my wake. After all, if nothing was left to harm us, we couldn't be hurt.
In the end, the only thing left that threatened my people, was me. I was killed by a friend who too wished to protect our people. Only in Revendreth after much... contemplation, did I come to understand the depth of my wrath and the gravity of my sins. I learned from my experience how to help others with others with their own.
I had hoped our brethren had returned to us for the right reasons.$b$bI never could have imagined the depth of their betrayal not only of Revendreth, but of the Shadowlands and all of reality.
For a time. When we combined the power of the medallions into the crown I wove in safeguards to ensure no one person could wear the crown alone by themselves for too long. And should the other Harvesters will it, medallions or no, they could reclaim their power from the crown with ancient words they are entrusted with. What we have forged together will only remain strong as long as we continue to work together.
Much to do with little time. For now we shall fortify what we have taken. This may include everything from instilling safeguards against future infiltration by nathrezim to instituting realm-wide edicts regarding anima usage. We must rally support across all of Revendreth for this cause. For now, continue to wage your war against the Jailer. We will levy what resources we can for that effort.
Undoubtedly, though it will take time and the right... candidates. I believe that is the correct word. We have never formally inducted a new Harvester. They were always appointed by Denathrius, the individual often groomed for decades before assuming the role. We shall begin our search of souls and venthyr who have the adequate skill sets and acumen. Those who share our values and have the power to back it up. There are many I can think of who might suffice. Take young Kael'thas, for instance. Were he further along in his penance, I might consider him...
Does anyone else find it weird that Nathanos has been missing since the pre-patch?
No fuck him 😉
theyre likely saving him for post-9.1, if Sylvanas survives. he'd likely play a much more sensible role in a post-raid Sylvanas story
He really shouldn't get any role, just an appearance or a (second) death.
I mean hes kinda important to Sylvanas 😛
and despite the loud outcry, people do like him
Oh for me it's not about liking him or not, it's just that, while it made sense for a Forsaken like him to show up on Darkshore to kill some random night elves, I don't know how much sense it would make for him to represent any kind of opposition (or to be a savior figure to Sylvanas or literally anything else remotely important) when we're talking about a cosmic fight between Maw Walkers/Thrall/Jaina/Bolvar and the full might of all the Covenants raiding Zovaal's face (or Sylvanas, who's also pretty powerful).
Of course he could get a power boost, maybe a blessing from the Jailer? Whichwould justify his abilities to stand up to us or put a stick in our wheel. But if not then he's just some Forsaken. Tyrande already instagibbed him so it'd be weird if now he was a threat again.
I dont really mean him appearing as a threat, just as a character, albeit a dead one
My guess is
When Sylvanas turns on the Jailer, she'll find the Jailer has Nathanos' soul hostage.
Which would explain why we haven't see him.
i got one, you can read all about how i spit on certain ppl online all the time, like that dweeb in bastion who won't bring me to elysian hold. he's a npc though..
I'd laugh if sylvanas stop us and when the jailer got his sigil he'll be " yeah I'll totally do that which is not what I told you Sylvanas " evil laugh and she does something that'll make him retreat or flee to Azeroth
Sylvanas Die and nothing more
Pfffft
She don’t deserve more
Annoying character 😅
did they change the torghast scoring system? they made some achievements for flawless runs; but no score board anymore at the end of the run
Tower knowledge seem to be locked on a certain amount per season
maybe it gets increased every week like Conquest and valor points
at least i got my full talen tree 😄
there should still be a scoreboard but the UI is still weird and either doesn't show or disappears instantly a lot of the time
did 2 runs and there was no scoreboard
but yeah it usually disappears very fast
Yes she does
So the stonewright was able to purge entire civilasations..tyrande wasn't...
Oh well, blizz show, don't tell, show us the nightwarrior!!!
It takes time for the power of the Night Warrior to ramp up, in comparison Tyrande is still a baby Night Warrior.
From my perspective, it increases alongside Tyrandes rage. As her rage increases, itll only draw in more power of the Night Warrior.
Noting that, its a no brainer that its a destructive cycle thatll only keep progressing (Didnt wanna say get worse as this isnt necesarily a disease) until otherwise dealt with one way or another.
It's the void power of Elune that is fueled by the rage and the death around, the more you kill, the more it's demanding, the more it expand, and eats you from inside
Wouldn’t be surprised if Elune was a Life pantheon entity that felt the only way to preserve existence was to ascend to godhood and become a being of both light and void to create balance.
Makes sense if she made the Naaru, since they are dualistic beings of Light and Void.
Tyrande as a person also had restraint, I think is the important thing. She absolutely had rage, rage that the night warrior fueled, but so far it’s been pretty singularly focused on Sylvanas (and Nathanos)
She hasn’t gotten to that stage two of destroying those who aided her
uhm
has anyone mentioned that this
looks a lot like the picture of zovaals new form?
like identical actually
if so I apologize
but I think that's part of the cinematic at the end of sanctum of domination
video is set to the time
The veil between life and death is no more. Discover what lies beyond the world you know in the next chapter of the World of Warcraft saga--Shadowlands: Coming 2020. In it, you will be able to explore the realm of the dead, pledge yourself to a covenant and shape your destiny, take on the boundless challenge of Torghast, Tower of the Damned, and...
been talked about for a good while, yes. Theyve confirmed that the model in that trailer was just a placeholder shadow modeled off of concept art, and that they finalized his design into what we see now later
a lot of the design elements from that original one have been incorporated into the Primus
@uncut vault Could be the case, 100%. But I still won't write off the Jailer getting a new model if he takes that orb from the Arbiter.
new model, I probably expect, just not based on the concept art
at most he'll get the shoulders
but the whole chains and the like arent really his "true form" going off of lore context clues
domination and chains arent what he was about prior to being locked away
My thought is, his "imprisoned" form is based off IRL prison stereotypes. Shaved head/face and such.
His freed form might get rid of that.
His look has been fairly criticized, because it's pretty dorky looking.
So I wouldn't be surprised if they use the chance to give him a new model.
I mean, there is an encrypted new model for him
It's very likely Zorvall gets a new form, can't see 9.2 ending without that model change happening (Heck if anything, it may happen in 9.1s ending)
yo guys, why did no one notice and make a wowhead post about the fact that pvp scaling is back ? I tested with a friend and we did the same duel on ptr and on retail and there was a clear different in dmg % health, the numbers were the same but the % hps taken were way off the right numbers
can someone make a wowhead post about this after verifying yourselves too so blizzard removes it, its actually ruinning duels, no one dies
also tested with multiple classes
i highly doubt it's back
we tested, test for yourself
@urban spire makes a great point though. It's identical and this is an official cinematic. So Why would they go to the effort of putting it in the cinematic if it wasn't going to be used at some point in-game? We have a new model coming for him after all.
The other thing I took into consideration is that it's at the top of torghast with sylvanas turning into her banshee form
which is literally something that happens in the dungeons journal
They went through the effort because they wanted to tease him, but didnt have an actual model
I could also see them keeping it too because domination magic is now a part of him
so they made a fake one and covered it in darkness
it's not just something that contains him anymore, he's weaponized it and I assume it's made him more powerful
so I could see it being a continued part of his aesthetic
yeah but the fake model is a full recreation of the concept art
not just a partially done thing
Exactly what I was thinking
and he's WAY bigger in that form
which could easily be true considering titans have a large form
so I assume eternal ones do as well
and if you look at the shadow form it pretty much has everything from the concept art
his beard, the circlet he's wearing has gems in it, etc.
For sure, I genuinely wouldn't be surprised if that is what we see. They've just tried to throw us off the scent saying its concept art or something. But I just don't get why it would be so close to the concept art and not be used.
the chains and his armor looks identical too
That's my thinking too, they just wanted to push us off of his scent
We will probably see in the next month or so
probably have the sylvanas raid cinematic soon enough as well as his model un-encrypted
i think they'll save that till the last minute, like they kept some of the recent cinematics encrypted until patch launch
this is a huge reveal
its supposedly a gamechanging event
Yeah, and that's probably the best way. The way they've been hyping this up this raid is hopefully gonna have massive consequences
maybe even shadowlands / realm of life being permanently merged
which could lead to those "allied race " models of covenants being a real allied race
yeh that would be pretty crazy
I guess the other thing that gets me is how detailed the art is too
it's not like actual concept art
it's like fully finished art
yeh i was thinking that
I really hope that is the case because he looks awesome like that
it would be truly epic and this game certainly needs that right now so fingers crossed eh
thats how wow concept art for major characters ALWAYS looks
i can show you from previous expacs
give me 5 min
heres yrels original concept art
this is before they decided to have that male draenei character and all that
as you can see - its very different from how she turned out
but as polished, if not more, than the OG jailer concept art
heres hozen concept art to show how far a design can change
mantid concept art to show the same thing
tbf, major design shifts like with the jailer are extremely rare for a main character
BUT
for non-main characters, usually the shift ends up with the design or the concept being fully canned
heres some dredger concept art from SLs
or these maw shades that never got these models in game
I really wouldn’t mind if they used Yrels concept art for a new character.
That'll be how she looks when she comes to holocaust in the in the Light xpac when her and that Naaru of hers comes to enslave us to the Lights will.
I’m unconvinced they’re going to villain bat Yrel.
I feel like Blizzard knows that’d be immensely unpopular.
@unborn glacier
Turalyon is more likely, because he’s “new” to most players and is naive about the Light.
They already did in the Maghar recruitment quest
She didn’t say or do anything outright nefarious. And anyways.
Bruh
I mean, she's basically doing what Briotish invaders did to Native americans
Tbh
She orders the execution of all Orcs who will not bend to the will of the Light
It's basically N*zi
The only good orc is a dead orc
I fully agree with Yrel's genocide
Interesting, but I think the point was more for a major character like this is.
Sounds like Racism
It is racism. But it's justified
Orcs started a war because "Oh we doomed our own world and had nowhere to go"
be literal orc hitler
genocide everyone who doesnt join the Iron Horde or is a non-orc.
switch sides last minute because you got your ass kicked and now you wanna weasel out.
expect everyone to forgive you.
mass deforest and destroy Draenor’s ecosystem with hyper-orc industrialism.
pikachu face when the draenei go “bruh” and put an end to your dickery.
Well, boo-fucking-hoo, stop opening portals to Legion homeworlds
Also I'm talking about the original orcs, not WoD orcs
idk why so many Horde-aboos are convinced that the Light and Draenei caused the ecological crisis on alt Draenor. When they outright spell out that the Orcs killed the botani and are deforesting the world like crazy to fuel their society.
Like. Orcs are incapable of not fucking up.
Should the Draenei have just sat and waited for the Orcs to make Draenor entirely uninhabitable?
thats why i started with yrel
the others were to show that even non-major characters can have intricate concept art and can change significantly
I mean, I don't like Yrel for turning into Napolhitler, but I guess it's better than destroying the planet
I'd say Ner'zhul was like Freeza was in Dragon Ball Z. Just less threatening
Space warlord invading other worlds for their resources and people
I mean the answer for AU draenor is probably both caused it in their own ways
Idk. Draenei have no real presence in Gorgrond, yet look at it.
The jungle is entirely leveled.
well, the point of the story is that they do have a presence now 😛
they used alpha gorgrond for that scenario
because the draenei are conquering draenor
Draenei don’t even really use wood much lol
Their society uses magic not furnaces and such.
the reason they used alpha gorgrond is so that they could use certain areas that dont exist on the current area, and so they could have the cart rails
most of that map is fully unchanged from the original alpha map
I’m sure they also used it so it’d be barren.
the idea isnt that theyre killing draenor for resources, the idea is that theyre crystallizing the planet to preserve it in the light
And they even say they wiped out the Botani, or nearly wiped them out.
thats fair
They don’t even show any crystalization.
i just wouldnt judge the state of that map as fully canon
They do, very explicitly
a naaru comes down and freezes a whole batallion of orcs in light
Yes. To capture them.
No, theyre specifically permanently frozen
You’re saying they’re crystalizing the planet itself.
and unable to be freed
Where does it say that?
when you mouse over their effect
Does it have flavor text, or is it just “Duration: Permanent.”
Because those are two entirely different things.
specific flavor text
Does anyone have a screen of that?
Im having a hard time too lol
guess with how rushed it is people didnt document it well lol
At any rate.
Yeah. The Draenei are authoritarian on alt Draenor, but I think the entire point of the story is
We don’t know the full picture, and I sincerely doubt Grom was being a good boy the whole time.
There’s a reason his own son said “naaaah” and joined Yrel.
Oh I doubt he was too, like I said, I dont think its flat one side was bad or the other
Like, his son joined willingly.
i mean
he was a good guy, relatively, until thrall forced him to be warchief
he wasnt ready
Garry was written by writers that didn't communicate
One team wanted apeshit genocidal megalomaniac Garry
garrosh was INSANELY well written
The other wanted the perfect Grom
Blizzard did seem to regret making him unredeemable though.
(While alive at least.)
idk
so far, even in death, he doesnt seem neccesarily redeemable
the reason he keeps giving anima is because he wont admit his mistakes
I think Garrosh went to Revendreth in all timelines though
he truly believed what he was doing was right
Being good doesn't mean you lack pride
garrosh had some inconsistencies, but they were more some writer goofs on the way of the clearly shown arc, and less like Sylvanas where theyre clearly conflicted on what direction and kind of character they want her to be
^this
Pride doesn’t send you to Revendreth.
things like Stonetalon or the echo isles internment are weird goofs, but as a whole garrosh had a pretty clear trajectory
no, but too much pride stops you from leaving revendreth
Points at Vashj.
stonetalon isnt a goof
it shows his honor
why kill women and children to piss off an enemy, when you can force them to leave
Issue is, Garrosh lost all honor later
it is when you consider stuff like the theramore civilians in SoO, is the main thing
if blizz hadnt done that needless thing in the riad I'd agree it fits just fine
he stops caring
also SoO - by that point he is fully insane
he is literally hearing the heart's whispers
reinforcing his racism and ego
also, Revendreth as a whole isnt really about the sins, its about sins coming at the cost of your usefulness
people like Garrosh or Kael or Zuljin would be plenty useful to the system, but their sins keep them from that
for a person like vashj, those empower her to serve it better
Vashj is weird, because she isn’t super villainous as far as most WoW villains go.
I mean, she kinda is 😛
enslaved multiple races and tried to drought an entire planet
Illidan was trying to supply his forces so he can fight the Leg
I don’t think any souls go to the Maw immediately.
Revendreth isn’t just for redemption. It’s to drain souls of anima.
Sending anima swollen villains to the Maw would be bad.
I think Maldraxxus would suck as an afterlife. But at least you get to choose your physical form
Wait, let's back the HIFL up here
Maldraxxus sucks for everyone who isn’t an amazing warrior.
I think thats kinda the point, visually its gross, but the freedom and constant self-improvement is what makes it enjoyable for those souls
Maldraxxus is basically soft-hell.
Do you get to choose your physical form in any afterlife?
If you’re powerful, you rise.
If you’re weak, you get used to make fucking weapons.
Which if you think about it. That’s super fucked up.
Like
Maldraxxus isn’t a moral place.
You are given the body you deserve in Bastion it seems like.
Though
That body is limited to being a Kyrian.
Kinda weird
So, trans people die and become their true gender at heart in Bastion.
And presumably any other afterlife
And furries in Ardenweald have spirit shapeshift
Spirit furries
@uncut vault But yeah. Maldraxxus is hell if you aren’t powerful.
Also, I feel like Alexandros Mograine might decide to leave Maldraxxus once he feels he’s done his duty there.
post 9.1, I probably would too
Bastion is for the people who serve faithfully, or something
but as it has been up to now? I think Id pass lol
So would that include minimum wage workers?
Unlikely
bastions more the highest percent of those who are drawn to service
^
Basically a realm of selfless heroes.
There are infinite other afterlives normal people go to.
These afterlives are too specific. We need something for the average Joe
I assume most Light worshippers go to the Light.
Like how Wyll saw his family (minus his wife) when he died.
Like, imagine if in WoW lore, the boring cashier who rotted in minimum wage busting nuts in the corner while listening to Linkin Park went to Revendreth xD
But he did do bad shit, according to a certain book
It’s still a big let down we don’t see Kil’Jaeden in Revendreth. Though, tbh
He might not be dead-dead.
We had it confirmed that we won't see Varian or Varok in Shadowlands
I wonder if we will see Dranosh though
Well, actually.... [Old Warrior's Soul]
Varok’s soul is a drop in the upcoming raid.
Old Warrior's Soul - https://ptr.wowhead.com/item=186438/old-warriors-soul - PTR 9.1.0

That doesn't count
Yes it does
And blizzard saying “you won’t see Varian” means jack shit tbh
They said BFA’s intro would be “hard to know who started what”
"Wait guys! Remember our statement? Yeah, forget it. Let's have Varian be the one to snap Anduin out of the Jailer's chains of domination ;)"
When it became crystal clear.
Also, is Anduin dead or is he a living death knight like Arthas was until he cut his heart out?
They specifically announced Shadowlands with Anduin attacking Lordaeron to make it ambiguous who started it.
Arthas wasn’t dead until much later.
So, likely not.
Just soulless currently.
Arthas cut his own heart out, the emo bitch
Well, actually Arthas was "dead" well before that. Frostmourne ate his soul the moment he picked it up.
He wasn’t “undead” though.
I think even the Arbiter would have sent Arthas to the Maw
"An agent of the Maw? Go to where you belong. Trash"
Nope. Definitely Revendreth.
Arthas is guilty of Stratholme and his actions in Northrend.
Not what he did when he took the blade.
^^^^^^
And considering the people Revendreth redeemed
His crimes are baby tier in comparison.
Mhmm
The afterlife laws are FUCKED
Hakkar is in Ardenweald and he definitely deserves to go to Revendreth. But nope, he's a nature spirit
Eh. Stratholme was bad, but it probably slowed the Scourge down a lot.
Hakkar is a “necessary” part of nature
But now I have a speculation about the Nathrezim
Are they evolved Stoneborn created by Denathrius?
Or something else entirely?
They seem to be very similar to Stoneborn physically
And Denathrius is apparently their leader
DeNathrezim xD
We already know the Jailer made the hat of domination and Frost Frostmourne and gave them to Denathrius, who gave them to the Nathrezim
But were Nathrezim demons before Sargeras?
This is some cool lore here
They were created by Denathrius before the Stoneborn were ever a thing
The Stoneborn were created by the original Stonewright in defense of Revendreth after the Nathrezim's actions brought the full wrath of the Light upon Revendreth.
Naughty, naughty, Nathrezim
They were never demons.
I think he would have been sent to the maw, but not for his actions, but because 9.1 is suggesting that souls claimed by frostmourne are auto-sent to the maw
the dreadlords we know became actual demons
they entrenched themselves in the realms they infiltrated to be convincing
theyre demons in the same way most are, not inherent as a species but transformed into them by fel infusion
Like the Eredar
Yep
Lore's screwy but fun
They can use the powers of any of the Cosmic forces
Even druidic?
Likely. According to the Preface in-game book, they have successfully infiltrated the realm of Life
So we may see a Nathrezim using Life/Druidic magic in the future
It’s likely not all dreadlords are demons. Like Baifeng said, they just absorb energy from the forces they need to infiltrate.
I can't wait to see some dreadlord saving Tyrande with druidic magic and going "Why so glum, chum? I've saved your life"
It does make me wonder if Lothraxion is a baddie or not. Sucks, because I like him.
Wait wait wait
All Nathrezim are ultimately only loyal to Denathrius
In Warcraft 3, Sylvanas asked Varimathras to kill like
Uhh
His bro
And they said it's forbidden for a Nathrezim to kill another
What's dat?
They were demon before Sargeras. This is why I think the " if Azeroth is corrupted by OG it'll create a void titan " is an hoax, or hide something else
I mean, did they infiltrate fel just to manipulate Sargeras ? Or is there a deeper motive there?
And how can you plot things on such a long term without having at least an inch of magic foresight ?
we know all nathrezim come from denathrius, and they can change their appearance if they consume certain sources, for example lothraxion with light, and dreadlords with fel
we also know they were exiled from revendreth to the planet where sargeras found them
Uhhhhhh
One thing to think about: the Light knows about the dreadlords trying to infiltrate them.
What if Lothraxion was a dreadlord that was forcibly Lightforged like Illidan almost was?
His past loyalties erased.
I think this too, since Summer is the opposite of Winter, and they're definitely leaning into fae concepts.
I thought it was weird that she'd be responsible for creating the Naaru if she's not an entity devoted to light but if the naaru can give things life that shouldn't have it, that could support the life magic idea.
yeah. fighting sylvanas this early in an expansion does make it feel like there's a lot more coming with her ore nathanos. But, to be fair, I also expected way more to come from Devos. 😛
We definitely see time and time again that both orcs and eredar society are massive fuck ups in most of what they do.
But sommer would be sun, sommer, spring..all of this isn´t elune
I don’t think the sun is summer necessarily. It’s just growth and life. Which does seem to be her domain.
I don't think so. Sister of the wq don't require the exact opposite being
And how should this work?
Will I need to do any 9.1 quests in order to test the new raid in a few hours ?
Do people find testing groups ahead of time, or just pug them?
Ah. My guild doesn't do ptr testing.
My tin foil hat prediction. Jailer escapes maw, and leaves Shadowlands coming to Northrend, and resurrecting Galakrond as a distraction while he makes his way to the sword in Silithus to finish off Azeroth, in attempt to obtain Azeroth's world soul to gain the power of the first ones to rewrite death itself.
well... in that case, I can't wait to see Galakrond skybox - just like they did with N'Zoth. But it's understandable.
Galakrond is a dragon
Not an old god
And nowhere near Nzoth sized
His body is most of dragonblight tho
KT seems like a pretty stressful fight
I didn't say he was an Old God, just saying he would be too big to have his own in-game model
Deathwing
Giant dragon
It’s doable- not like you would see the actual model if that ends up happening anyway
didn't think of him. His size is around Galakrond?
Oh god no
But my point is that deathwing is almost never present up close
When we see him he is either far away, in a cinematic or cutscene, or we are on his back in the raid
I was just thinking about that photo of dawn of the aspects. If any of scenarios include Galakrond in the future, I would be fine just with a CGI cinematic or something
Galakrond in the lore was utterly massive
He would dwarf Deathwing
Yeah, that's why I suppose they would probably make him appear in animated skybox just like they did with N'Zoth in Nyalotha.
sylvanas sure has gotten big since the xpac launched
Actually by the end Deathwing was much bigger than the other Aspects. He had a 300m wide wingspan. Like, dwarfing the other aspects.
Now, that was a bit inconsistent in the art (there's art of Deathwing bigger than Blackrock Mountain and there's art where he's a bit bigger than all the other Aspects combined but not by that much).
But at the end of the raid he's basically the size Galakrond should be (and we only saw like barely his head and torso), which was an intentional parallel between the two (the layout of the Aspects vs Deathwing was itself similar to that of the proto-Aspects vs Galakrond on the cover of Dawn of the Aspects).
Personally I think Galakrond would've still been bigger but honestly there's not much to base this on.
yep, he's bigger
Tbh I hope we see Galakrond in Shadowlands
He should be in Revendreth
Atoning for the sins of cannibalism
I mean, he was only half at fault, if at all
the beginning of his mutations were titan experiments iirc
I thought it was meddling from the Old Gods
I thought his mutations were just from eating other protodrakes
Something people disregard about Galakrond is his intellect, tbh
He was one of the few drakes that could actually talk in that time
that was how they got worse, but Tyr talks about how all of this was a result of his tests gone wrong, or implies such
It's cool that galakrond is huge but I also get less scared of something when it's... way too big? :B
I like my monsters big enough to be threatening but not the size of a whole continent haha.
galakrond was part of the hearthstone expansion/story adventure last year
I just hope if he ever comes into play in the WoW story they uh... don't make him so big that it's impractical to code into gameplay.
I mean, it would give them the opportunity to make up for how they handled Deathwing
I still occasionally shudder when I hear the Fel Reaver in Outland... though it's a lot more easily spotted these days with the much higher view distance 😛
Galakrond will be Kologarn'd I think
Just a dragon torso floating in the air and we will have to fight his arms, head, and chest
That's what they do with big monsters
Interesting time to add Yrel to the avatar list. 🤔
Yeah that's... odd
More and more convinced that the jailer will brought an alternative end time but that will end up like the Death of Chromies scenarii, with some time and dimension , and plane, merging into reality in odd way, explaining how Yrel can come to our " dimension " and how everyone was trying to kill chromie because of the " time paradox " she would be making
Yrel isn't in another dimension. It's an alternative timeline
Well, "Time" is technically the 4th dimension, and she exists in a different timeline... soo, sorta right 😛
true. And a timeline has to be wrapped in a different dimension, or else it'll be kinda messy
Alternate Timelines are part of the "multiverse". Same dimensions as our own, but events occured differently.
well it's kinda wonky anyway, since magic is involved
The wibbly-wobbly timey-wimey shenanigans that allowed us to cross over into Draenor... in the past, and then later revisit Draenor in present-day, but not Draenor as Outland 😛

WoD had it's fair share of problems... Personally I consider it the "expansion of missed opportunities", but it's rather annoying that they have a storyline in which Yrel is a big part of the expansion, having her become that timeline's Velen basically... and then she ends up becoming a fanatic light-must-conquer-all b**ch, under the auspices of alternate timeline Xe'ra (the one who tried to force Illidan into the light, and he killed her)
Hey anyone know if theres a vendor to get gear? ping me if you know
We still don’t know the full story, and I REALLY don’t understand why people take Grom and his Horde’s side and accept his say of events as gospel.
It’s also a bit tone deaf to make Grom’s past victims into antagonists, because it poses them in the light of him being right.
So, I doubt the Draenei and Yrel will be outright villain batted. We don’t know the full picture.
@thick saddle
Yrel is already a villain full stop
hm interesting
^ this. Whether or not the orcs started it, a crusade against the orcs in the way she is doing it is villainous
i haven't managed to find darion in oribos
after finishing the battle for ardenweald
but not turning it in
at that point we haven't even discovered korthia
No changes to wow-ui-source, nor any changes appearing in diffs on wow.tools either
the exe changed, but that always happens with a new build. Hard to say if it was actually changed
Ok
The Lord of Ravens will Turn the Key.
It's Zovaal, unmistakable now. Roh Kaloh said it
https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/804763881351282748/840333494428762122/SPOILER_unknown_2.png
A blessin from da Masters. Now Ogmot understand! A door. A path. Ours... Ours...
Huh?
What do you mean it's Zovaal
The Lord of Ravens => Ravens being the Mawsworn.
" When their mistress beckons, nine ravens takes flight " The Nine is a boss encounter of the SoD, the Valkyr / Mawsworn of Sylvanas
I mean. It makes sense. Legion was the start of the Sylvanas trilogy of expansions.
So " The Lord of Ravens will turn the Key " now line up with Roh Kalo saying " Gods fall at the turn of a key "
Most likely referencing to the opening of the Sepulcher
They have gathered! The Door Opens !
remind of Ogmot's journal line :
A blessin from da Masters. Now Ogmot understand! A door. A path. Ours... Ours...
'They' might be the Void Lords
pretty cool visuals
I think it's moreso that he's talking about the First Ones. They're the Gods of the Shadowlands and pretty much all reality, and Roh Kalo is an attendant after all
poor garry
I want that sword
That looks like a really cool fighting scene.
Dun dun dun
@uncut vault @dense plover there's something odd in the maw
if you exit the raid through its entrance, the outside area is full of new elite mobs (similar to torghast mobs) and they all have millions of HP
i died and respawned at venari's place, she was there but i think that's normal
what isn't normal is this oribos waystone
no korthia either
I saw that too the other day, its weird
different eyes
a new "bonus objective" mob
in the beastwarrens
feels like it's an instanced area?
the map is largely the same-ish just no flight path markers
normal map
might be testing for the pre-9.1 maw phase
hmm
that could be it i guess
the mobs are largely different than in 9.0 or post 9.1 phases
just looking around, so far its all the 9.0 stuff for me
You try dumping GetInstanceInfo and see if it shows as instanced
too late now 😅
rip
maybe for the next raid test
LFR wing 1 is open, you might be able to try there
although LFR is special so who knows
Well, if anyone finds a way to reproduce it, definitly dump the instance info so it can be diffed
i'll see if the npc lets me in
why is he wearing tusks? :??
probably the same reason kaelthas magically gains a full set of venthyr themed belf armor
aesthetics > logic
yeah but he loses the tusks in the SoO end cinematic it falls off him
and he dies without them in wod
does blizzard ever go back to their source material??
It's not like you go to the afterlife with your actual clothes.
It's likely he believes the Tusks are his by right.
Thus he manifested them in the Shadowlands.
He'd likely lose them if he loses his pride.
mfw no nekkid garrosh
Not sure if I’m the first to notice this but I found it interesting
All the new Torghast shoulders are direct copy-pastes from in-game NPCs or even bosses in the case of Painsmith Raznal or the Tarragrue. These new shoulder though, are different. Not a single NPC to my knowledge has these shoulders.
Yet they’re the exact same shoulders that were found on the old leaked Jailer Concept art. So maybe they really are going back to that old look and wanted to throw the shoulders in as well for fun. Of course this is just a guess but it’s still quite interesting imo.
it isnt the first thing to do that, the M+ mounts have his back crest as well
and the new backpieces do too
I noticed that too
It could be that they have his old cinematic model laying around and they’re throwing leftover parts of him into the game, but I’m kinda hoping it’s a hint towards what could be potentially a completely revamped Jailer and not just a Jailer with a glowing orb in his chest now
Uh. How did he get it.
And there is no screenshot or anything o.o
He didn't
We sure its real?
Oh? I'm on mobile lemme look again
Juicyyyy
I was right. I said that she'd be pantheon of life.
and the forums are already a shitstorm
some people are not amused by ppl making a shitstorm
They've been raging since the ardenweald quest
And I really don't get how it ruins elune..
They are calling for an entire rewrite for Christ sakes xD
Notice it said that the link between her and the WQ was " severed " , so nothing is ruined yet. something did happens to Elune.
Yeah , people are jumping the shark that Elune is ruined and whatever. But we don't have the full story yet. The very " upstart Goddess" thing from Xal did imply that she was probably not a " goddess " from the start
screenshots are available on there
So, seems legit
Specifically seems to be amazon UK, everywhere else I'm looking only has the cover image
there's also https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/816GYoNts8S.jpg which doesn't seem to have been linked in the reddit post
Wonder if there will be some we don't see ingame
I imagine they were due to be released in the next few days globally, just some people put them up a bit early after they were sent out
It was. Chronicles leaked the fact that Azeroth was a world soul in the same type of previews
Book previews are always intentional
Probably not done by blizzard, but amazon
And we're like, 2 weeks away from the books release so it doesn't matter
Not even by Amazon
Blizzard chooses the pages that are to be previewed
This isn't a leak, it's.. a preview
Well, pretty sure amazon put them up a bit early
Doesn't matter
Book is out in 2ish weeks anyway
Doesn't necessarily spoil anything big
Don't think so, we're barely 2 weeks from the release date, that's pretty standard, if not even a little late
It's more that there's normally a specific date for them to go live on all stores. I don't think it would be more than a day or two, they wouldn't get provided the images that far in advance anyway
Didn't I just read the release is in like july
What i see is 2ish months??
Ah true. Point still stands, the timeframe is similar to that of Chronicle. And Chronicle had even more (like 20+) pages released for preview.
People want her to be "real god" when everything in wow has always been explained in time. Which I don't get, because it's inherently a fictional universe. It is okay if things that aren't real get explained eventually.
Also this is the most excited I've ever been about any WoW book ever because of the big name authors and the exploration of Azeroth's people and their folks tales over their rulers.
As long as she doesn’t become “tall lady standing around a player hub for quests”.
Lul
"Well, Well, Malfurian..."
We need some reality TV drama with the Winter Queen and Elune.
oh shes 100% gonna become a tall lady giving out quests
I don't mind NPC's being big and being in capitals because I always just thought it was supposed to be an approximation of them, not what they're literally doing in a given moment in time.
The page for all those who don't like reddit.
Like how the entire city of dalaran isn't the size of a shopping mall. 😛
She uses the Nelves for that
I really hope the Winter Queen meets up with Elune and just points out the fact that Elune dated a deer
I think if anything should have never been explained in detail, it should have been the old gods for the mysterious horror. But we all know Blizzard always overexplains everything so it was inevitable in my eyes. 😛
Elune likely didnt literally bang a deer lmao
I mean… Cenarius ;)
Yeah. Thats my point
Cenarius is living proof that a deer is apart of the Elune family tree
If elune has butterfly wings I'm not gonna complain. 😛
I wonder if Malorne went to Ardenweald, or if Elune snatched him up
It’s more likely she formed Cenarius from Malorne’s essence.
They went on a honeymoon to Elunaria
Elune didn’t bang a chandelier to make Naaru. 😛
Nah, it is stated quite clearly that Malorne and Elune were mates and that he is Cenarius' father.
At this point I wouldn’t put it past her
I REALLY don’t think Blizzard has the balls to make Elune fuck a magic deer.
That would be worse
Only reason Blizzard lets mortals fuck dragons is because the dragons can take a mortal form.

It seems likely to me Night Elves look as they do specifically because Elune likely looks like one.
Cenarius is a night elf/deer hybrid.
Dryads and keepers are all night elf/deer hybrids grown from literal acorns.
It's just oddly specific to include the deer and elune as his parents, lol.
I pray someone brings this up to Danuser in a future lore interview
I would love to see what he’s got to say on the subject
He’ll say she didn’t fuck a deer, 100%
Cenarius was almost certainly made in the same way she made Naaru.
The Malorne connection is probably just mythological storytelling.
Well the Naaru part is just a Khadgar Game Theory. It’s not actually fact yet
I suspect it is not literal as well, or that magic was involved.
I'm pretty certain you would have the ability to spring life from nothing if you were a life deity.
I’m going to guess they’ll say An’she is a member of the Pantheon of Light and is related to Elune so that’s why Xe’ra woke up
I dont think Ah'she is its own entity
An’she is likely just the Light.
I wonder who the actual light pantheon will be because we know that's gotta be on its way sometime too.
Illidan is the Pantheon of Light. He’s no longer his scars. He goes to church regularly now after getting over his fel addiction.
Joking aside I do hope they bring back the Titans along with Illidan to beat the Jailer if he truly is “Titan++” in his level of power.
But like. Actually, tho.
Because the pantheon and Arcane, Chaos, and Death are accounted for. 😛
I hope it's more interesting than "it's just a bunch of naaru."
The Seat of the Light Pantheon is just a Home Depot Chandelier section, and a bunch of really loud humming wind chime noises
That would be Too Bad.
With all this Elune stuff I’m really starting to think we might get a Lifelands expansion, and postpone the Light VS Void expac to another day
Gunn be interesting to see the Titans at full power again
i'd prefer Lifelands over Naarus vs. Void
but i suspect the next expansion will be azeroth focused again
I hope so
Same
Let us explore the uncharted rear of Azeroth, that will lead into another cosmis xpac
I mean
I imagine the light has it's own pantheon above Naaru
I would kinda like An'she being there
I think An'she is just what the Tauren call the Light
Blizzard writing suffers when they focus on cosmic stuff
Because An'she to them is the Sun
I think it suffers when they do war stuff badly more, frankly. But I would like them to do war stuff well.
Tauren Sunwalkers and Seers have always been a bit different than other "light" worshippers.
I think next expansion might be Lordaeron focused
I hope so.
An entire expansion?
It's just not an interesting story though when it's "the alliance do nothing bad, the horde did a genocide, and they need to find themselves again." God I hope that plot dies forever.
Calia I think is obviously being set up for something, I just don't know what yet.
I would very much like for Valeera to get to do things on the horde side.
Blizzard keeps hinting at the Alliance having internal issues for once
I hope they do; it might make me play my worgen once in a while.
I expected a cosmic battle royale expansion tbh
All this learning about the cosmic forces
So I think we might see Turalyon bring the Scarlets into the Alliance
I think that's coming too but I bet it's going to be the one after the next.
Lordaeron and Gilnaes
I think Quelthalas is both due for plot and a facelift.
Ye
It's sort of already been set up.
I could see them giving Quel’thalas an update. It’d make Horde not feel as salty over the Alliance getting a “new” city.
It would also give void elves some plot.
That's what I'd personally pick because I think it has the most opportunities for their popular unused assets.
Like Valeera actually... doing things...
I think uh
Lordaeron City could be a raid.
With Turalyon as the Garrosh of the fight.
but who even wants it
if the entire plot was a plague purification/crusade plot that could work
A raid ending in the throne room of Lordaeron with Turalyon on the throne would be fun.
I think that the Alliance’s big issue will be Turalyon bringing the Scarlets in, who recruit a bunch of humans.
Likely during the Scourge invasion going on right now.
So, the Alliance is being pushed to do zealous things, and the other leaders don’t like it.
See: Alliance Garrosh.
Since Garrosh recruited the Dark Horde.
Who became the core of his supporters
I could see him opening a portal for Yrel.
Basically the Light saying "bro, let us come over."
It would be cool if they made compelling villains for the alliance but I just never trust them to actually do it.
It Would Be Nice tm
I presume Tyrande is going to be calm again since they have exercised elunes wrath from her in this patch.
I want Tyrande to move aside and bring Malfurion back to the super badass Druid of yore
Nixxiom’s Machinimas with Malfurion are genuinely my personal headcanon of what Malfurion is actually like
I just can't get interested in night elves for whatever reason; might just be because I don't think the original sin narrative is that compelling.
Maybe a rebuilding narrative would be interesting for them, or a return to hunter-gatherer esque survival stories. But I can't think of much. Then again, I'll probably never be their target audience.
Most of what they do is rebuilding or learning to survive with the open world without their immortality
The only Night Elf stuff that really interests me is Zin’azshari.
I really wish we could get a time travel expansion and explore Azeroth before the sundering with a massive city like Zin Azshari. I just wonder what the heck went on here.
That would be awesome.
It’d obviously be a ton of work, but it could also do well with the covenant stuff. You can join the Highborne, Trolls, Pandaren, or Tauren in their unification against the Legion
I dunno if they'll ever do a big time travel thing again though.
Agreed. It’s probably off the table, but maybe it could sort of happen in the form of a new massive continent on the other side of Azeroth.
What's this?
Honestly looks the most threatening than Sylvanas ever has been even with the powers of the Jailer
Ahh, I see.
Her portrayal of Warcraft is honestly better
I'm still salty that all three of the warbringers weren't songs?
I thought they were going to do lament of the highbourne for her watbringers after daughter of the sea.
But then they didn't.
Though, she said she’d rather die than draw WoW pauldrons for the rest of her life.
If I were in charge I’d probably just slap that on the front cover for the Sylvanas book
And I was like "oh. This is not going to be an even expansion." xD
Okay, but Arthas.
See? Now everything is invalid
Actually though. Imagine getting your own cinematic and the only thing people really care about is the guy who killed you and a big blue lady
lol
