@fiery shale you should read Chronicle volume 3
Geico: 15 minutes could save you 15% on Teldrassil insurance
XD, he wont even read the internet for lore
It fleshes out who were the victors in faction ambiguous things
I TOLD HIM
he doesnt care
Alliance has won a lot
@thorny light So nothing in-game for me see in game? I have to find a third part medium?
🍿
It's still lore
🍿
I mean its literally there fleshed out in the universe
yummy
It’s raining popcorn!
Well
🍿🍿🍿
Salty popcorn
grabs some of Focus's popcorn
No wait, those are nuts
an MMO as a medium can only tell it a certain way due to gameplay consistency constraints
I could say that, In game events before mop arent really canon anymore
shares popcorn with peach
munches on popcorn
They aren't canon anymore?
WOOT
Fuck
its in the cinematic
Oh, we know
oh shit
kinda
Don’t you dare “lady and the tramp” me, Peach
cinematic spoilers
@thorny light sure it is but it doesn't affect my experience in the game with one settlement after another lost to the horde or whatever event is going on. With the alliance presence or victories left in books or comics.
screeching
He might not, but we do
FACTION BIAS
Details details
@thorny light twas a joke
there are a couple of really really obvious bugs that still havent been fixed in beta, and im worried they will make it to live even though ive reported them a bunch
Your low dps isnt a bug
what do i do?

@thorny light what is the logic in developing an entire region outside of starting zones for goblins for the horde but 1 tree (that is dust now) for the worgen?
@fiery shale ever see Stratholme? Gilneas? Darnassus? DESTROYED by the horde (or something)
@fiery shale I mean I don't care about convincing you to play the game, if you're looking for reasons to not play then don't. If you want to play then awesome you should totally catch up because you've missed a lot of things that have happened on both sides
I miss darnassus already. I used to have all my alliance hearths there
R3KT
8 years....
You essentially have an untested leader who is pissed and anything can happen, if that doesn't excite you as an alliance player then I don't know what to tell you.
I'm excited to see what this new boy king can do!
Manduin
Lol at manduin
Is anduin a priest or a paladin I forget
@thorny light I appreciate you talking to me and there is no need to convince me I just want to see the alliance win at something. Build something. Something I can enjoy rather than feeling like being defeated one time after another. I saw the darnasus event. That was just cruel but the cynic in me thinks we wont get retribution for it.
It might become like siege of orgrimmar where everyone just walks away.
Something about Mia making genn purr like a kitten?
I actually don't know, I would imagine so at some point
I dont think we know about that retribution part, m8
He complained that the Alliance only has a couple of tents to show against the Horde's castles
@fiery shale nobody walked away, Thrall brought Garrosh to justice in the full story arc of that.
Which was a book
Ythisens what part of blizzard are you of..? Curious.
But he's complaining that Varian didn't slaughter the Horde right then and there
He's the assistant community manager.
That wouldn't have been something Varian would do
Oh okie!
@thorny light again it was the horde that did something about it. Not the alliance. That my point. I hope you understand it from my point of view.
I even heard on the siege of lordearon its the horde again that bomb their own city rather than the alliance finally putting on their big boy pants and doing something about it.
Ty
@dense plover BFA runs fairly well on my computer. But i think a game-breaking bug. I died doing the Monstrous Shredder world quest in Darkshore but i can’t get back to my toon’s corpse because i reach a spot (a ramp from the creek south of the Great Tree), and it just crashes and disconnects.
Varian essentially behaves like an orc because of his time as a gladiator
He believes in honorable combat
I think
(I'm putting some of this in my own words so please correct me if I'm wrong lore folks)
That's too much edge
Gosh I love the story of wow
@thorny light Varian should have taken the horde leaders and any remaining criminals, brought them to stormwind, give them a fair trial and dispense some alliance justice rather than giving the horde free reign in what they want to do.
@dense plover sorry, but it’s preventing me from my appointed gear rounds, lol.
@dense plover this isn't the place to pass along bug reports.
Sylvanas chooses to plague bomb Lordaeron because she knows she has to preserve the horde
Rekt
Bug reports are looked at and are handled accordingly.
The horde was going to lose
That was the only thing she could do to escape and keep the horde alive
The Alliance were essentially on her throat
Sylvanas is horrible and great at the same time
@fiery shale are the horde leaders guilty for what Garrosh did?
@thorny light yes but our moment of glory was once again taken away by the horde.
That my point.
The alliance are always and consistent on the verge of "Almost victory and... its gone.
@thorny light not at beginning they did not. there was breaking point sure but they have to answer for all the initial crimes and pay war reperations.
But after the siege of orgrimmar.
There are the orcs in ashenvale like nothing happened.
This is weird that we're having a discussion from things in the game 8 years ago lol
after today happened lol
^^^^^^^^
@thorny light I am just pointing out this is just a continuation from then
nothing has changed
Ummmmmm
Everything has changed
we are always running around in the same repetative circles
Yeah
Oh
Everything has changed
I get what he means
Didn't grine say he was gonna leave anyways
Dudes
Like 5 times he did
I hate to spoil this for you, but that's literally WoW
He is like
There has to be conflict or there would be no game
Hence a "World of Warcraft"
There will always be purples to collect
No, Yth, he means as if the game areas never changed after Garrosh defeat
@thorny light why is the writing so bad
Sometimes there will be an additional 10 levels
The writing isn't bad
sometimes 5
it's downright horrid

Show me where
How is it bad? Just curious
And how
looks like we got some 12 year olds up in this chat
Yth, how does it feel to read memes 24/7?
@thorny light I don't mind that there is conflict. But for once let us conquer something.
for 12 years the horde always gets that sweet victory of burning or blowing up someplace of the alliance.
Meanwhile the alliance tries but in just the LAST second someone walks away or someone from the horde does something (like sylvanas bombing her own city).
Why did you not let the alliance burn Lordearon to the ground?
I'm just glad he commandeers this ship.
Sylvanas being evil, the other horde leaders following along with her when that goes against everything they stand for, Genn and Tyrande being the worst of the Alliance leaders
The alliance are literally about to push the forsaken out of EK
etc
Lol
Because I have no idea what all of these buttons do.
Ei whatchu mean genn being a bad leader
I don't think Tyrande and genn are that bad @meager warren
Like that's conquering
What's so horrid about them
But you did
okay well
@thorny light I would love to see that but until its done I am still waiting for that last second reversal meanwhile Teldrassil, Theremore or Nethergarde are still piles of rubble.
worse leaders
Explain? @meager warren
wait nethergarde is not the horde's fault
According to him, it is
Thats the IRON horde's fault
Genn wanting to kill Forsaken without seeing them as anything more than rotting corpses, Tyrande rejecting Nightborne because of something from 10k years ago
Still the same horde to him
Those will stay rubble until narratively something happens
....horde
if it does
@gaunt venture still some orcs did it and its still a pile of rubble.
The only pile of rubble on the horde side is camp taurajo
lol
lol indeed brother.
Murderous Madness
But for night elves 10k years is like. A few days?? They live for like ever. @meager warren
You didnt Read BtS right?
eventually
Okra'lon Keep is a rubble
i do not understand
10k years may be like just a few days but it was ten thousand years ago
Besides they wanted to give the factions both elv models. !
Genn stops seeing them all as a whole bad thing and starts to understand that maybe there would be good forsaken
@fiery shale you need to get your lore straight my dude
^^
there's no excuse for holding a grudge that long
The park was destroyed by Deathwing
cata was great and no one can change my mind
How would you feel if you get pushed from your home
I loved cata
@gaunt venture Bro it as an alliance player it feels like Oparah is standing there and shouting at us "YOU GET A RUBBLE! YOU GET RUBBLE! NOW YOU GET RUBBLE!" for YEARS now.
Okay that's too far
I play alliance too and i dont have a problem
That's just exaggerating
Yo Yth
The horde gets their arse handed to them during Lordaeron
*Oprah
Spell it rite
Give him a job as a code developer
I freaking main alliance, since cata, and it's nothing like that
Let's see if he can hansle
@gaunt venture and we lost 3 times more territory than they did.
Remaking the world every patch
No we didn't grine
Because what he wants is a refreshed world every expansion
We both lost a major city
Yea
Like what more do you want? Org to be destroyed?!
he is gonna say yea
I do want to see some displays of dominancy and grabs for power in bfa I don't know about the next xpac as far as horde vs alliance goes. Hope you get some of what you want grine
That's his dream
i'd like to see a refreshed world every few expansions, maybe every 20 expacs but not every expac
@crystal forum the horde literally marched through all of nigh elf lands and burned down their capital. If they dont own Ashenval and everything to the north I dont know what will.
Ohh this m8
yea Thats the purpose
scream
meanwhile most of their army was away????
but first i want them to get rid of the horribly restrictive faction-race scheme
We've made it clear that we'd never do a cata again
because of how much work it took
what
The horde are in kalimdor and the alliance in EK
I get you
cata was nice, but yeah I don't think it should happen again
icri
What do you mean Faction-race scheme?
Thats why darnassus and Lordaeron are no more
there goes my dream of a new Quel'thalas
All I want in my life rn is some quality RUINED darnassus/Teldrassil to explore. But I'm Gud with it being a skybox for now ./sad
true true
How much size would a bfa revamped WoW could be
as in, the factions are based on races instead of ideas
what
They're based on ideas, these races have cultures that have these ideas, I can't say it well because I don't know the words to use, but basically the races cultures and stuff seem to be more of what forms the factions together
i mean
if that were true, you'd think races from the other faction could have the option to join one or the other
@thorny light I don't want you to spoil the story so I wont ask.
But I will ask that if the Alliance gets close to a victory the next time we won't have it taken away from us because of "honor/mercy" or some last minute cheat card by the horde.
because not every person in every race is the same
@thorny light I kinda got my answer from what you said but I would like to confirm that means Silvermoon/Exodar wont get update and put in the world instead of being in outland?
^^^^
Let's take it back a notch on the pings.
@zealous basalt Not revealed yet spoiler.
dont be obtuse
I dont want to appear rude and ask for information not yet revealed.
To you, everything is a spoiler from MoP onwards
Lol
@sudden oak they technically are there but instanced wise I don't think so
I mean it could happen in the future
That's a little different
will i be able to kill sylvanas
you technically can right now
No.. I don't think she's a raid boss yet
rly
Lor'themar loves his paper mache
:c
Well yeah that's true
OOF
i mean lorewise

Thank you good Niuzao you give hope to this poor blood elf priest
Next xpac, the fall of the banshee queen
@meager warren he cant reveal information still classified until the full launch.
its rude to ask.
its ok.
it's not rude to ask if you don't know, pleb
Yth, who do you think that could be a nice match for our king boy?
@meager warren let's chill it on the name-calling.
wrathion
Taelia
cough
yes, thulm bb
doesnt Taelia have something with flynn?
I think she friendzoned him
Lol
I hope they didnt bring up Taelia just to make her hook up with anduin
Hopefully they do something with Bolvar
since 1 they will probably forget about her if the make it official
Oh yeah bolvar.. Didn't he have a say in the dk legion campaign ? Or am I wrong? Haven't played a dk in for ever
and 2 I need a goddamn M x M couple in WoW and Wranduin gives me life
Hmmmm
LOL
M x M would make me happy
Lmao
Do we see
Shush, it doesn't say that in my fanfic
Fancif
Wrathion wooing some nice black drsgon
I saw that
aight im going to bed
can we atleast have something similar to the enchanting quest back in azsuna?
cause I've had enough wow today
Bye yth!
that quest was beautiful

I thought that quest was annoying.. Maybe because I have 3 enchanters..
And mvp
that may be it

I loved the quest and something similar with a M x M couple would be great
since blizzard only spawns lesbian couples
cough
:^)

They got the first letter of LGBT
when do we get all of them
Anduia
the t of LGBT
I don't think satisfying those wants are on the agenda for writing the story of Warcraft.
The story is written as it fits within the universe.
If it happens, so be it.
Sigh
Heck ya Imma go look then
yeah nightborne female
she says how good Tyrande looks after 10k years
and if she is seeing anyone
i know it's horrible but that guy's face is awesome
And good night
“The story is written as it fits the universe” and yet they’ve gone out of their way only to delegitimize a gay pairing that fits the universe 🤔
For those saying that they never tried to paint Sylvanas as any kind of good
Tough deal
@uncut vault did you mean wranduin there? if so thanks the heavens there is someone else that suffers with me
I think she's the eye brow twirling kind of evil
LOL
I do
Hmm
I like those interviews wish it was on video
siege of lorderaon is next week right?
Probably
yup]
nice
Yeah, next tuesday
Expansion drops the same day that us normies get to do it
So did Mia Greymane die there?
no
The RP was a bit hidden by the massive crowd
nope
right
Genn saves her
Couldn't see if he saved her or she forced him to leave
mhm
strangely enough my laptop was screaming at that content
it's never had probs with WoW before
it does kinda amaze me that world trees are just really big trees and nothing else.
as it's subjective, and they're explaining it through sylvanas' eyes rather than their own, they are not "lying". they are telling the truth--that's how sylvanas sees it.
if only archimonde new this
her eyes?
the quote is "is she acting in a cruel, mustache-twirling evil way?"
they never frame it as "Well to her she isn't"
they just flat out say "No she isn't"
eyebrow-twirling
many ppl are right to bring up the point that blizzard were indeed lying with all the "morally grey just wait for it" bs
"in the story for her", that's most definitely an indirect way of saying "in her view"
then they'd have said, in her view
Ion never said Morally grey
he didnt, ya
He said that Azeroth was grey
but he implied it
the meme is the meme
ppl went off on it, hell, we did as well in this channel
they can't say "in her view" when they are treating it as a story rather than talking about it as real life. and they have to talk about it as a story to remind people that they are the authority for this sort of information.
um mate.... the dev uses the words "but I also think"
too many memes
indeed, so many fanbois are acting like this is something out of character for sylvanas
it's not, it's perfectly in character for her to do
yup
dev established authority with first sentence so stuff like "but I also think" is more convincing to the reader without saying "this is definitely how the story is going to be"
but they act like "blizzard destroyed her character" and its like wut
these ppl dont know the lore of the waifu they worship -_-
I think the writing is quite bad. But I don't think it is because Sylvannas is portrayed inconsistently
jesus christ akr, another semantics argument, fine u win, he was talking in-character
yea I don't think blizzard destroyed the character, people just didn't think about all the actions she did
The problem is that blizzard stated a goal ("We want to portray both sides as grey and not one as at fault") and the writing totally doesn't accomplish this.
The problem here
the have the wrong characters as warchief and king for morally grey story
Is that people are judging early
i mean, u judge what u get
indeed, we judge what we get. this is the prepatch, it's not even expansion content, some people will be judging it before buying BFA.
I mean, blizzard said "wait for the cinematic to get the whole story". So many people did and expected somethign like azshara third party killing the tree
And what do we get? Was the horde afte rall
yea that was super weird
Will it be more ven with BfL? Nope, alliance is the aggresor, but Sylvannas is the perosn gassing her own troops and rezzing them as udnead (with the King of the alliance getting voicelines of how he pities the troops of his enemy)
It's their attempt to make things grey
It would have been better if they never said that word tbh
It's not even that the alliance destroys a city in revenge. It's just the horde destroying their own city to spite the alliance
(well, not 100% on that last one, but it's likely)
and BfL is already justified for the alliance now
I mean, if we had got a scene of some Forsaken begging for their live and how they were not resposible for Sylvannas actions on the other side of the world
And then seen some alliance soldier go "No, your undead are all abominations and your queen just proved it" and massacring them
even then, sylvanas just destroyed a world tree, killed ancients/wisps/so on, mass murdered night elves
Then I would be more willing to buy them trying to make moral equivalence
unless alliance round up all the forsaken in undercity and execute them then blow up the city...
Thats something only worgen would do tbh
It’s out of character for her in the sense that she snapped and decided to burn it. If she had secretly planned to burn it the whole time, that would be Sylvanas.
But even she realizes she fucked it with this
But blizzard doesn't even give us a "the alliance want revenge and take it to far", instead we get a "the alliance try justified retribution and the horde use that to trap them with dark prejudice"
She thought about burning the small towns on Darkshore, not Teldrassil most likely
ya
She even says moments earlier to prepare to invade. She burned it because someone got lippy.
though blizzard writers dont know what a world tree is, or something of that size
it should have been azerite bombs being catapulted
and that'd make sense to then burn a world tree
I was expecting it to be azerite bombs
I don't think they're capable of bending Azerite to their will just as of yet
havent they made azerite war machines at this point?
though maybe azerite aint... explosive
No, not quite yet
The Gobos and Gnomes are figuring out how to bended to their will
The azerite war machine shows up at Lordaeron
But imo
The game would be more accepted
If Blizzard wouldnt have ever touched the Morally Grey
And just accepted that "there would be really bad things happening for Horde and alliance First"
"The azerite war machine shows up at Lordaeron"
that's BFA content, it's sort of temporally disconnected from teldrassil
not by much, but enough for major discoveries to be found and utilized.
once war of the thorns quests are no longer possible to do, and all new players will see teldrassil burning as having been done before (and battle for lordaeron is "current" as a fresh 110 entering BFA), the temporal disconnect will be more obvious
6th time I've seen this
Well excuuuuse me princess
blame the rogue discord
xd
Either he dies or Blizz decides that they want to make Malf a badass finally and res him
cause I honestly expected him to die
Seeing that he's not been seen in BfA I was convinced he'd die here for months
Cause honestly, the entire Val'sharah experience left a bad taste in my mouth
Oh Tyrande my love, save me
'master druid gets baited by one cloven boi'
Well to be fair that bit was Xavius memeing
Still, it felt like Malf wasn't super heroic when we saw him in the nightmare face to face
well basically he succumbed to the only weakness of major lore characters these days, that being 'baited by the most trivial shit'
So much for being a badass
Another win for easy teleportation
To be fair, during darkheart thicket Malf does nothing but sass Xavius while we fight through to save him
Then we help him cleanse the nightmare from the emerald dream in EN
But yeah Xavius gave Malf a bad rep during valsharah
TUHYRAAAANDAH
what
Exactly what Vrissaid above, she even used a hearthstone to do it
Malf will sadly live
'sadly' boi
@open temple I hope you know that was just Xavius trolling tyrande :;p
Plz god kill malf
He's been around too god damn long
And he's too god damn annoying
AND THTS COMIN FROM AN ALLIANCE NELF MAIN
LORD
I imagine so many refugees are pissed cause she left them
They're fucking irritating characters
what
Tyrande and malf
what
Tyrande didn't abandon them wat
We don't like them
Didn't she just hearth out like nope
With malf
And send us to the tree to help genn and whatsherface
Maybe I'm wrong I woke up like 10 min ago
Wait didn’t she say teldrassil was lost or something before leaving?
I did like how our 'Assist Malfurion' prompt was 'get force choked and do literally nothing'
Saurfang crushed hte last of the fighters. There is no one left on that beach
did you not see the horde's side of it?
^
Sylvanas getting jebaited and setting it on fire comes immediately after Tyrande leaves
Shocking that a SURPRISE ATTACK ended up succeeding
Infact--while we're flying over
she sets it ablaze
OH I DERPED SORRY I REMEMBER NOW
I still
Yeah same lol
I still don't like how Tyrande noped out instead of leading her people
Thinking most people actually pay any attention to the other faction's storyline
Again it was leading a doomed front and possibly dying
or
save her husband
and lead the refugees
which do you think the HIGH PRIESTESS OF ELUNE is going to do?
Honestly Tyrande is a priest. She's better served taking the wounded out than rocking up to fight
^
Priestess of Elune
oh
We see that in Warcraft 3
cause everyone's a fucking priest these days
Doesnt mean your usual priest
^
Priestesses of Elune are warriors, archers, mounted combatants and the like
80% of Alliance leadership are fuckin priests
Night Elf priests are warriors, too.
well then she should have stayed.
A death in battle is the only way to die
My god yeah most of the alliance leaders are priests
Genn isn't. Mekkatorque isn't. Malfurion isn't. Falstad and Muradin aren't.
Anduin, Velen, and Tyrande
Priest master race. Obviously.
Moira
there's more non-priests than actual priests
Oh yeah and moira
Gotta consider her now
why now? the council of 3 have always been alliance leaders
She was a racial leader when she helped King Varian put down the Zandalari
ontop of Ironforge
or did we forget that happened
Idk I just have a grudge against malf
My beef is more towards the people that bitch about him in valsharah when xavius was messing with tyrande
Dark iron dwarves weren’t official members of the alliance until BfA
Now with the allied race induction they are
Actually what is Mekkatorques class?
Moira has been a racial leader since the council were made a thing. Just of the dwarves in general, not exclusivly dark irons.

And yeah, Mekkatorque is a prot war
In a custom he would be considered as a steamwarrior
MEKKATOURQUE FOR HIGH KING!
steamwarrior
Regions
eh?
War campaign on beta is still bugged since months, sometimes quests to get +15 ilvl neck too, do you think they will be solved before live?
?
what do you mean about +15 ilvl neck?
war campaign is likely already fixed, but requires a fresh start and most people arent willing to test that
When you get honored with chmapions of azeroth quest to get +15 ilvl neck is not working
War campaign doesn't seem to be fixed, I just saw people saying (wow forums) that they leveled new characters and they can't do second ot third foothold
When you get friendly / honored / revered /exalted with champions of azeroth magni give you a quest to get +15 ilvl Heart of azeroth, it's +60 ilvl total when you reach exalted
Sometimes people are stuck in the honored quest, they can't complete it because of a bug
That's why having Champions of Azeroth exalted before raid open is important
pretty surre that wont be possible
there arent enough champions of azeroth world quests between august 13th and september 4th to reach exalted
It will, with this http://www.wowhead.com/item=153668/contract-champions-of-azeroth
Yes, I think it's enough to reach exalted in 3-4 weeks
also, they dont persist through death
yea people need to buy a lot of them then
inscription is going to be the shit early on

The best thing I've seen all day
😃
How can I get to boralus without stormwind boat as it's still bugged?
Portal?
found it thx, didn't know there was a portal
all of the boats are bugged
I figured there'd be a portal, just not sure where as Alliance
It's in the mage tower
So uh sylvanas just pulled a garrosh right?....
Arthas
so uh
dragon isles confirmed canon
im banking on that shit being patch content now
tying in both the wrathion stuff and hopefully the chromie stuff
maybe finally gaining more info on the infinite dragonflight
its azerite
it gives AP
Just another azerite item, just like they gave many names to artifact power in legion
Sweet.
yeah
thats what surprised me
this further builds on to my theory that we will see them as patch content
inb4 dragon isle dragon area
What guide on wowhead is that from?
Inb4 drakonid playable race who's with me?
the island expedition overview guide
its the turn in quest for the black dragon scales
Deathwing 2: electric Bugaloo
Can you link it Peach? I cant find it, wanna see if there are other quest ending things
only 1 other there
the verdant one about druids
this is the only other one listed there
ty
np
also interesting, though not as much as dragon isles
im just excited dragon isles are canon
theyve been in a state of unknown for a long time
Any theories on what's there?
dragons
Well something with a bit more intrigue
OOF
nope, no theories
im hoping a patch where we deal with infinite dragons and moruzond is there
or we finally see nozdormu become moruzond
I hope they keep the squid temple
¯_(ツ)_/¯
Ye
yeah pre-beta WoW
they were planned for vanilla
maybe we see it with the naga stuff instead
as a max level zone above lordaeron
Imagine if the temple squid becomes a part to naga
well i dont think it would be that exact asset
i just imagine they might use stuff like that as a reference
just like they did for the emerald dream part of the nightmare raid
Spooky tbh
that part might still happen
If Naga live on that thing like pandaren did on Shen-zin Su that would be neat.
tbh i never understood why there was a squid thing on the dragon isles
Ooooh and azerite is goin to bring this squid back to life if it not already
Damn
Well that thing looks like it has stairs Naga wouldn't need those unless it was really old maybe. Then again that pic isnt Canon so who knows
Would be neat though
Hmm alright
if the squid temple is there it will be dragon stuff
not naga
its the dragon isles
naga stuff is going to be its own area
probably nazjatar
or at least a piece of it considering nazjatar is supposed to be massive
naga/nzoth stuff will geographically likely be in between kul tiras and zandalar
as thats where nzoths prison is
I'll take your word for it for now it's hard to contain my imagination though
Or 8.2 dragon isles
Patch 8.2 Wrath of Wrathion
Oof

Oh I know that storyline
Bolvar doesnt want Taelia to fuck Anduin
Ans Wrathion wants him
Or
Taelia secretly take the boat to Northrend when she comes to Stormwind
Anduin send you to find Taelia
You have to go to ICC
and you find her with Bolvar
Then she turns evil with him
Patch 8.2 Wrath of Taelia and the Lich King

there must always be.... a lich princess.
as long as they dont hook up taelia and anduin
and they keep golden away from anything related to them so wrathion can go back to his king
Taelia & Jaina
Anduin & Wrathion
Sylvanas & Nathanos
or
Sylvanas & Bolvar

Nathanos & Genn
Velen & Illidan
Malfurion and Saurfang
Yeah
assumption for the first three are Uldir (known), Zuldazar as the ToV style raid, then Azshara for either 8.1.5 or 8.2.5, depending on if they give her story
But
They can simply release Zuldazar at the same time as Azshara story (without raid)
Then raid in the next patch
They probably will
but one patch of content will never be enough for someone like azshara to me
That's why I hope we don't kill her
Would blizzard cata northrend for another round of a lich King expac
If anything, it won't be a an expac, just a patch, maybe on BFA maybe on another expansion
Well something would have to be cata'd though right otherwise a scourge wouldn't be scourging
I'd say yes, simply because it would be less cata, and more draenor, which in terms of actually redoing the zones, did much better than cata
When they announced classic servers I imagined they'd eventually throw northrend and even pandaria in there
You know, to be classic servers
Would be a good question for a QnA
#notmyclassic 😛
Personally I didn't start enjoying the game till the end of bc (when I was talked into giving it another try) I hated classic. But I also rolled on a pvp server to play with friends and hated pvp.
It's still fairly-spontaneous why Sylvanas decides to burn the tree. However, she was incredibly vexed that Saurfang did not kill Malfurion, and was thinking of a new way to destroy morale among the Night Elves.
well...
I guess thats better than "lol fuck this night elf"
Yes strange but I thought it was her from the beginning
I entertained other theories like everyone else but
I want things to happen to sylvanas
Ive said my theory on what will happen with her before but I don't want to jinx it
At least now that there's no doubt she did it
The boy in Stormwind will not start a war tomorrow," Saurfang said.
Her eyebrows lowered. "With Genn Greymane in his ear? We will see. "
That was a concern, Saurfang had to concede. In the thick of fighting against the Burning Legion, Greymane had launched a mission to kill Sylvanas. It had gotten some of Stormwind’s few remaining airships destroyed.
There were whispers that Greymane had ordered the attack without Anduin’s permission, but as far as Saurfang knew, Greymane had not been punished. The implications of that were troubling, and every possible explanation led to the same conclusion: the old Worgen would always drive the Alliance toward war against the Horde.
Sylvanas’ eyes glittered. "And the boy is becoming a man. What if that man decides that he has no choice but to launch war on us?"
blizzard why
why couldnt you give me this first
I actually like the cinematic now
with this context
That smirk that sylvanas made after anduin mass rez'd was odd to me
Especially after the whole no hope stuff
She's happy that she has an actual competitor
That must be it
Who saw warbringers 2
I did
I’m so pissed they have saurfang stuff but it wasn’t in game
Why the fuck are they still doing this? Put the important lore in the fucking game
thats my big thing
that is SUCH a big motivating factor
if they added one line right before the cinematic, saurfang telling Sylvanas that he failed to kill malfurion
that would give the cinematic a lot more drive than "an elf made me mad"
The whole “I don’t know if I’m honorable” thing is the shit that explains why he gets taken prisoner. If it doesn’t show up in one of the lordaeron cutscenes, I’m gonna be so disappointed
That’s the only reason I could see it being left out of the sylvanas thing
To give her that moment, and then have it show up at lordaeron so saurfangs actions still make sense
this is the same problem that WoD had, and Jaina had
to the wider playerbase, the actions make NO sense
because theyre shown in a book
like, this makes me like the cinematic now
because with the knowledge that she KNOWS malfurion is not dead
suddenly means burning it is tactical, fulfilling a different part of her plan
They desperatly need to stop putting important lore in the books only.
Like I am all for books. But like, show it in game too Blizzard please.
Yeah. Although MMOs in general are a shitty torytelling medium
Especially if you are like blizzard and always try to give the player character much spotlight in the happenings (instead of having him be "a grunt of many", basically
Other mmo's do it far better so, this is really not a mmo problem but more a blizzard problem.
You didn't have to guess motives in FFXIV although japanese games in general depict very stereotypical persona's.
GW2 also didn't have this issue, neither did swtor or TSW/SWL
I wouldnt count SWTOR much, its essentially a full RPG with friends around at this point
Still classed as a mmo with story telling
Well, WoW has switched over to bing a single player RPG for quest content, essentially.
Like, look at the class campaigns. None of them acknowledge in any way that other players of your class exist
You are THE champion, the singular hero.
That has always been the case very few times do they speak of band of heroes and address you specifically. Doing it so you're simply a number makes it rather anticlimactic
Well, I guess it's a question of preference
And I think the tendency has got more extreme over the years
The first time where I really felt it that way was in WoD, with you being this "Commander"
Beforehand you were mostly some person doing "ground level"-stuff, having adventures and following the orders of others
And it could be argued other chars did just the same in a big world
Ahh
Anyway we are now talking about preference and no you weren't doing some ground level stuff when you stopped deathwing
or the lichking
or ragnaros
or the argent tournament or crusade
Well, yeah, that was some kind of "how many heads does Van cleef have" problem, I admit
And you are right in that it was always present. It just got more extreme with time
My problem right now is, you can no longer trust what you see and experience in game.
Since a third party source can push the narrative anyway they want
Once the game gives the individual characters the role of which there can only be one to fill. Going to hey you're just another adventurer seems contradictory
But I'm also cool with it
Everybody has to play the same quests basically there is no way around it, unless you were to turn it into a fable kind of thing.
Now I'm going to be thinking about on what angle could that even be a approached.
Well, simple example
if you have an army of thousands of people attacking a city
And your quest is "be one of those thousand people who all together run up to the wall, scale it, hack around on them and in that way help storm the city"
Then if two characters meet and both say "hey, we were part of storming the city", their stories don't exclude eahc others
but with important lore death
If your quest is "You are the high commander of the invasion force that storms the city, personally lead the charge on your unique mount, scale the walls and be the one person that opens the gate"
Then if you meet another character, it's impossible that both of you had that role
like you can't always have 100 fellas all trying to kill some dude
And in the beginning of WoW most of the quests were the type where you was one of the foot soldiers fighting here or there with the occasional one where you did something worlwide important (mostly at max level and in a big group).
When was Lorash born @uncut vault my running theory is that those like Anasterian age much slower than the newer generation.
@hollow dock according to this page he was born while the blood elf settled in Tirisfal
Which is basically the reason we assume he is as old as he is
But today, basically every quest is you doing unique stuff, directly elated to the fate of the whole world
Oh goodie. More proof for that theory.
Tbh, I see all the more personalized stuff not aimed at writing your character for you but to give a fun SP experience.
Which I quite enjoy.
Yeah, it's a matter of preference if you like it or not (I personally don't really like it). But I think the change in style is objectively somethign that has happened over time.
Well yea. Which ironically people say is WoW diverting away from its RPG roots when all its doing is embracing them.
I like the feeling to be part of something bigger (like with the AQ war effort or the conqeust of Quel'danas, where your contributons were very small in the grand scale of things, but on the other hand, it had an effect on the progress for everyone else)
Cuz I remember the days of cata and Wrath were people were pissed that they get no recognition for being the saviours of azeroth.
And stuff like the garrisons or the full phased personalized questlines make me feel alone
Its kinda funny to watch the masses get what they want only to realize they never actually wanted it.
I never wanted it, tbh. But I#m an atypical player (as I play WoW mainly to do RP, not for PvE or PvP)
Type of player doesnt matter to it IMO.
Im a raider and an RPer and have always wanted WoW to progress like an RPG and not just an MMO that ignores Ive saved the world 4 times now.
Yeah, that's fine, too
I get my fix of being a grunt by participating in the big community campaigns on my realm and am happy with that in the end
Oh, and I play EvE on the side, but that's another topic entirely and a very very different type of game
Well Eve also plays into that mentality.
Since its a game whos story is almost entirely based on social interaction.
Yeah. that's what I like about it
Sadly, WoW and other MMOs that copy it won't be that way. Not unless youre in a group.
And I wish WoW had more of (but I can see the drawbacks and know, why it's not that way)
For me personally, I've made my own little fix for it.
Treat the questing as a completely null thing for all my characters. Like Im reading a book. Then craft the story of what she is actually doing in this area using the events of the questline as a sort of bridge.
Yeah, that's what I also do (also most of my characters are not where the PCs are most of the time)
And I help to organize and participate in our big campaigns, where we "retell" some of the big stories and have the player characters be part of the helping NPC armies, basically
that sounds fun
Kinda neat. I dont enjoy those large scale player stuff though. Always creates drama on whos dying and who did what to who to get a few kills.
oh, do you assume we fight against each other?
Heres a screen from our current Plot (covering the war of thornes) - The horde army assembles to meet up with Saurfangs troops in the northern barrens
neat
Well what else would ya do? Cast a bunch of pyroblasts at npcs? o=
We mostly use "storytellers"/"Dungeon masters" to play the enemy faction,d escribe them etc.
I guess most fights are against well described raidmarks
Ah. While I enjoy this for D&D, dont think Id enjoy it in WoW to much.
Yeah, it's kinda unique (don't know if it's prevalent of any other realms)
But if you have dedicated teams, you can really create many individual groups that all do their small part and it comes back together into the big story
Dunno myself. I roleplay on a private server. Rules are a bit different for what we're capable of doing.
Yeah, I guess I would really wish to have these possibilities
Though thanks to so much creative freedom, gotta moderate heavily to ensure theres fairplay and no drama over it.
But I think the battle for Lordaeron will be the biggest event this year.
We'll see, maybe we'll crack the 300 characters for the main battles.
Depends on how many the alliance will bring
battle for lordaeron is a scenario
Well, obviously we will not play it in the scenario but in the open world in Tirisfal
ah like that, find other mmo's are far better if you want player controlled events.
probably.
But my community was born in WoW and ehre are the people I call my friends snce years.
So it's kinda not an option to switch without losing them, which I'm not willing to do
what server is that?
Die Aldor-EU
is the "the great sea scrolls" quest rare?
if its the one to collect unique scrolls to get a helm, no
most characters get it eventually
ok ok
OH HY
MY
Stormheim was mentioned!
A Good War's cause for war is much better than what is explained in-game
I love it
@uncut vault @hollow dock
As an OG Horde player who remembers the honor the horde had during the glory days of thrall, is the storyline going to get any better for the horde or is blizzard lazily writing a pro-alliance bias where the horde is evil genocidal maniacs because reasons?
So
Vris was rite
Sylvanas burned the tree because of Saurfsng not killing fucking mald
Malf
Basically
Warbringers is incomplete for those that didnt buy collector edition
Vris, you never read the whole thing unless you ordered the special edition
Since you seemed to have misse dit, I shall put it here
"You are not Garrosh Hellscream, why do you want to throw the Horde into the meat grinder again?
Sylvanas’s eyes did not waver, even in the face of his rage. "If I dedicated myself to peace with the Alliance, would it last a year?"
"Yes," Saurfang said curtly.
"How about two years? Five? Ten? Fifty?"
Saurfang felt the trap closing in on him, and he did not like it. "We fought side-by-side against the Burning Legion. That creates bonds that are not easily broken.
"Time breaks every bond." Sylvanas leaned across the table. Her words flew like arrows. "What do you believe? Will peace last five years or fifty?"
He leaned forward, too, his face inches away from hers. Neither blinked. "What I believe doesn’t matter, Warchief. What do you believe?"
"I believe the exiles of Gilneas will never forgive the Horde for driving them away. I believe the living humans of Lordaeron think it is blasphemy that my people still hold their city. I believe the ancient divide between our allies in Silvermoon and their kin in Darnassus is not easily mended." There was a smile on Sylvanas’ face. It was not a pleasant one.
"I believe the Darkspear tribe hasn’t forgotten who drove them from their islands," she continued. "I believe every orc your age remembers being imprisoned for years in filthy camps, wallowing in despair and surviving on human scraps. I believe every human remembers the tales of the terrible Horde that caused so much destruction in its first invasion, and I believe they blame every orc for that, no matter what you people have done to redeem yourselves. And I remember very well that my first Forsaken were once loyal Alliance citizens. We died for that banner, and our reward was to be hunted as vermin. I believe that there will be no permanent peace with the Alliance – not unless we win it on the battlefield on our terms. And believing that, answer this, Saurfang: what use is delaying the inevitable? "
"The boy in Stormwind will not start a war tomorrow," Saurfang said.
Doesn't change what she did, but I found the initial reasoning much better explained in it
So it was fear?
I suppose it could technically be called that. Fear that Genn would send another attack, etc.
It’s the reasoning I wanted to be expressed
If it was in-game, it would be much better
Something they should have shown in game
But at least it is SOMEWHERE
Ye
Same with her knowing Saurfang failed
I am sharing it on the forums.
Now
Who wrote A Good War?
They should have made this into game
Miss Golden I thinm
Horde was written by robert brooks
alliance was written by golden
So robert brooks wrote a good war
I want Robert Brooks to write more Horde stuff.
So basically
There is a big gap of knowledge here
The prepatch quests are highly incomplete
Which just tells us that Sylvanas did this for no reasom
Then the books explain every step she had
Once again the most important queues happen outside of the game
And the books also explain what happened to Tyrande
