to be fair, while they only let you copy characters instead of giving them to you, if you have a max level character you can still buy legendaries and high item level gear on the PTR really cheap

I think what it all boils down to is this bit of advice for anyone that gets into Alpha or Beta: test the game, report the bugs, do what you can with what they give you and make sure you're helping in your small way to give everyone a release that's as polished as possible!
