Maybe we swap to vereesa or liadrin as troops mobilize, defending the main streets and Palace. Eventually zooming back over to lorthremar across the Channel, seeing the smoke in the distance. All the guards distracted. Xal reveals herself and they confront eachother, etc

That's my bet

Basically tying the cosmic threat into personal ground level conflict that slowly builds up
