Only some ethereals are actually void. We also have had void dwarves, void spiders, etc.. this expansion. It’s really no different

What do we do for 12.0? A void invasion on Quel Thalas? That’s the expansion premise. The void isn’t like the legion. Their base isn’t K’aresh. It’s their actual dimension. If we’re going anywhere for patch content it’s going to be into the void

Mechagon had an entire zone dedicated to it, Tazavesh had a ton of story that still reverberates.

I think the thing is here though, a lot of the complaints are rooted in ret conning on certain characters like Danath. How many players are there that don’t browse the subreddit or aren’t active in a wow discord, or who just don’t even know who Danath Trollbane is in the first place?
Point being, I think Blizz realizes a majority of the player base aren’t that connected to some of the characters and they made a decision to reintroduce them in a different light because it helps with the overarching story.

BFA honestly had the best writing wow has ever had. Jainas arc, talanjis arc, bwomsamdi was the best new character. Warfronts were terrible mechanically but amazing from a world building perspective. Really gave the "us VS them" feeling, which stacked perfectly with Warmode.

The sylvanas arc wasn't GOOD (weaker parts of bfa story) but still a lot better than most inoffensive slop in DF and TWW.
Burning down the tree was still awesome though. WoW had finally reached the place it should have stayed.

From what I've heard afrasiabi was pretty hands off except for occasionally showing up and dictating the general direction, often resulting in many of the bits people hate cause he forced large last minute rewrites and direction changes

I believe it's a placeholder/alternate form so we don't spoil ourselves of her true form early. Kinda like what they did with Vanessa VanCleef back in Westfall by showing her as a human silhouette you can't target.

I'm suspecting while we fight Dimensius and kill her master, she's dealing with corrupting the Sunwell. So by the time we return to Azeroth, we're too late. The dark heart might not even be that important to her, maybe she just pretended like it was important so we'd focus on it.

K'aresh as a whole is the Ethereals's project is to restore Dimensius, and seeing as he is Stormwind-sized? I doubt he'll get through the Sunwell. It's TINY Compared to the Well of Eternity. And even the Well of Eternity wasn't Stormwind-sized.
