The issue is there is a very vocal group of players who are resistant to any change. One of the reasons why updated character models took so long to implement in the first place was because of trying to get them and the animations as close to the original as possible while still having increased fidelity. The weapon size and ready weapon stance for rifles and crossbows on goblins was tuned for less clipping and streamlining the animations and even that is still rubbing people the wrong way after several years

I'll say this, the book so far has made me love Neltharion so much and hate every incarnate.
The book feels like it tries to beat you over the head with the whole egg thing and try to forcefully paint the primalists in some kind of sympathetic light but it just feels gross and dirty.

If the stone simply returned strength, then each of them should have received it at the end of the storyline of each of the locations. But the bottom line was that Alex had to activate her stone last and, like, after that, the all stones would be activated. But nothing happened. Once again: the stones were not given to them in any case, what did they do here? Alex thought that if everything was activated, it would work (like the stones recognized them that they had returned and would somehow regain their strength). But it didn't work.
