Not all deaf can speak though but yes many can. I think this way it was to give them their own charm maybe they don't want to speak their clan accepts them for who they are but to communicate outside the clan they have someone to help translate / speak on their behalf.

I felt super stupid after highschool cause of such a situation. Wasn't mean or purposefully exclusive to the person. Our social circles just didn't overlap. (his pretty much being one student and faculty) I didn't find out till a few years later that he was deaf and didnt have a hearing aid of any sort. (I don't know why, going by where I lived it assumably wasn't covered by insurance)

Personal theory is that it's a fragment of An'she, who battled the void/shadow/whatever and was wounded. This crystal is a fragment left after their battle, recovered by Tyr and placed atop Tyr's hold. An'she was tainted by the darkness after said battle. This crystal can be an bad omen.
It would also fit with the " crystal deactivate => Island is sleeping ( night , Elune ) " " Crystal is activated => Island is awakening, ( day, An'she ) ".
Once activated, the crystal is bright as a sun and act as a beacon and a Lighthouse

This is in fact talking about timing of quests. It’s a quest that further establishes the loss and grief felt about Ysera. Clearly at the time of this quest, Ysera is “long gone”. I don’t understand the contention. Whether her state changes in later story beats does not matter much, this is a side quest that displays a character’s grief around a world event that happened. If she then revives in the end-game, then we’ve had a beautiful seed planted here that I would appreciate seeing followed up on and thus making her return feel that much more impactful.

I think the Ebon Blade would be responsible enough to know that keeping something like that constantly open would be detrimental to the world and the balance of death that they're now helping to maintain
Having them close off the portals and maintain access in tandem with the attendants would be the smartest route to close it off while allowing the PC to go back as needed for plot

I'd argue that making them estranged friends who have to re-develop bonds to become true bro's again is probably a better storyline
if anduin isn't as pure anymore, and he can more understand people who have done bad things. That could lead him into a rekindled friendship with Wrathion. Alternatively o adjacently, if Anduin starts going too far off his rocker, Wrathion could recenter him.
After all Wrathion is an expert on resisting evil pulls, he acknowledges everything he's done as his own action and takes responsibility
but yeah, in conclusion I think stories of friendship are way more compelling than lover stories
a good story about lovers has to be a good friendship story at its base, after all
