Semi-serious question/suggestion: What are the chances of a partnership between Blizzard and ZAM that would allow users to subscribe to Wowhead and WoW gametime (i.e., sign up for a year subscription at 164.88$, which is the combined total of a 1-year Wowhead premium + 2xWoW 6-month time, or a little less as an incentive to use the joint subscription)?

But at the end of the day we're entirely separate companies and Blizzard is understandably not going to want to implement an add-on like that where they have to send us money, handle it, etc. Further, it would be blatant favoritism for one fan site over another, which they're unlikely to want to do so aggressively.

In an ideal world, it's s great idea, but just not feasible. Thank you for the suggestion though!

Collecting data from the client is a laborious process, and having it collect different or new data is also its own endeavor. That's assuming it's even possible, but if it was it would take time and labor to implement and unfortunately we don't have any to spare right now, especially with BFA.

The suggestion is appreciated, but honestly it would best if Blizzard just added achievement progress to their API. Perhaps they will one day.

Interesting, I've spent several days trying to troubleshoot the WoWhead website and try and figure out why it was KILLING my browser, and it turns out my virus scanner absolutely hates something about the site and keeps it from loading properly. Might be worth looking into or contacting Avast to see wth they don't like the website

If you're logging in and then getting logged out it's something that is deleting/blocking your session cookie, usually I'd blame an adblocker since they're most often the cause.

The problem is the WowHead client closes before I can click this menu. As soon as I dismiss the "Could not update a file. Please try again later." error the Wowhead client closes.

I solved it the following way on Windows 10:

-Run regedit.exe
-Go to the key HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Wowhead\Wowhead Client\Options
-Open the WoW Folder Beta value entry and clear its data field (Do NOT remove the value entry itself)

After this you should be able to start the client again.

(NOTE: Only open regedit if you have some familiarity with how it works. Modifying the wrong stuff can do some serious damage to your Windows installation)

Even if we did you can't edit payment information since we don't store it, a payment processor we use does. The only option would have been to let it lapse and sign up again. @rigid estuary Our model viewer isn't always capable of showing all the various particle effects or 3D elements of some pieces of armor. We're always trying to improve it but it won't always be 100%. Blizzard likes to add new fancy things that our model viewer wasn't originally designed to accommodate (since they didn't exist at the time). Takes quite a bit of work to add these sort of newish features.

@wintry pivot I'd have to recommend you clear your browser's cache and cookies, give it another try after that. If that doesn't work, check your browser extensions to make sure one isn't interfering, you might try incognito mode or another browser as well.

Anyone else unable to get equipment lists to load? I've tried several browsers and made sure my addons were not blocking anything (including turning off ad blockers and the like).

Don't really feel like troubleshooting the code myself after a long day with my nieces, but both Chrome and Firefox throw ReferenceError: g_gems is not defined on line 7 of https://www.wowhead.com/list=xxx&tab=yyy&t=zzz when looking both a legit profile and a custom profile. I'm going to assume it has something to do with the issue.

Some feedback as I've noticed this as of recent:

To unlock the quest to go and get your allied races I've seen more is needed to be done than just hit exalted and proper storyline. At least for the Legion stuff. During Pre-patch I hadn't gotten my quest to unlock them until I had done the Siege of Lordaeron (I had bought BFA during the Siege week) and Shybutterfly here on discord had not gotten their quests either despite having all the requirements. Can another pass at those requirements be looked at so the attunement thing is giving all the required information?

Easiest way to force a website to log you out will be clearing your browser cache.

I'd guess that ~97% of major website rely on browser cookies for login state validation. If you clear that out, they'll register an invalid session and assume you're not logged in.

On your server - check the channel you have them going it by clicking the cogwheel, then go to webhooks. Make sure you don't have duplicates in there.

hello. how reliable are coords on maps for mobs when people add their data to wowhead? also: can addons such as npcscan mess with the data? lets say Im in azsuna and add a custom npc that doesn't spawn in azsuna, is there a chance npscan will somehow "pollute" the data being uploaded to wowhead via the wowhead client and then a coord is added to azsuna for that mob?

It shouldn't just refresh the page, please try clearing your cache/cookies. After you do, I recommend starting with the 'Register' link first, follow the steps, you can then attach Battle.net in your settings once you're logged in. The end result is the same regardless of the method you use.

Unfortunately Battle.net's oAuth doesn't give enough information for us to create an account solely with the data received, we get a numerical ID and that's it. So it's a 'Login with...' option, not a 'Register with...' option. This allows you to use whatever email/password you want for the site, but can just use battle.net later to login without providing that info repeatedly.

@smoky mountain I'd suggest clearing your browser's cache. The pages/tooltips all load properly for us. You may have cached a bad js file.

Why is the 'has location' option in searches staff only? Is it in reference to an NPC having a known zone/coordinate location? If so, I think it'd be useful if everyone could search to find NPCs that don't have known locations yet so that they could be found.

@teal dragon Cleared my cookies and cache, disabled my adblockers, used both F5 and ctrl+shift+R, still no item data. The actual mouse tooltips work in item lists, but I get no tooltip frame on an item's page. I am on Google Chrome, Windows 10.

I have narrowed down the issue. Not all items do this. When I first clicked around, it was just with that trinket and the trinkets in the see also tab. I am able to view other items. I wish the random page still worked, would've made this discovery earlier. I can also see spells just fine. So far, the only things I can confirm as not showing is the Tiny Electroimental in a Jar and all eight trinkets in its See Also tab.

@smoky mountain So this issue has to do with what is called "edge" servers. Depending on your location, you access a server that has a cache of its own, and yours likely got a bad javascript file cached. It should clear up on its own. Funky's suggestion of a VPN where you can pretend to be accessing the site from another location, may help, if for example you can say... "show me as being in France" then you may access an edge server without the bad file.

@wintry pivot 3d elements are unpredictable in our model viewer, unfortunately, it was never designed for those... as it predates that kind of thing existing. We're aware of it, but it's a tough thing for us to fix. Hopefully in the future we can iron out the details.

I used a proxy site to access tiny electromental in a jar and the data shows up, so at least I can confirm it isn't something my computer is doing. When I used the VPN extension, I tested a US redirect and a UK redirect, but weren't working, so that may have been the extension. I am in Virginia with a Cox connection if anyone's checking these edge servers.

Edit: Forgot about my phone. Tried loading electromental on wifi and on cell. Both do not work. Cell IP location reports from North Carolina.

I find myself constantly struggling to remember which of my characters have what professions (and my addon list is already too long). Being able to sort/filter the list by professions would be amazing.

You should clear all your cookies, making sure you're logged out everywhere, then log in to Wowhead and when you link Battle.net it'll make you login to the correct Blizzard account for linking.

If you login to more than one Blizzard account on the same computer you'll have issues like this if you (or others) aren't properly logging out of Blizzard each time they leave.

On the "planner", the "rarest" section seems a bit out of whack. For pets, my 2nd rarest is one that is bought with 200g (Nursery Spider), doesn't seem like a rare thing. For mounts, the top 5 are all class specific mounts. For toys, the top one is the "runas' crystal grinder" which is a quest reward for anyone who did legion. Something is off with the math on those I think?

Question: Does Wowhead have anything for identifying what WANTED quests are up? I've noticed that some of those that I'd previously completed are available again, like they're repeatable, but they show as standard quests.
