@teal dragon oh you asked about my other old account. No worries the problem with that is I CAN'T log into it so don't worry I even can't apply 2nd time. Forgot password to it and reset function just doesn't works for me so i dropped that idea and made a new site account and now all git gud. My sugestion to this prob would rather be that the old account was from 2014 or 15 so maybe it's not working coz of some database changes or log in system, or maybe even too long inactivity.. Doesn't matter now got a new account which works so yea all fine :> (Sry for the length of this XD)

A list should appear, assuming the account is active and you granted permission for Wowhead to receive character info when linking it with Battle.net, but the manual way works as well.

If you want to give it a try, I'd disconnect the Battle.net linkage in your settings, visit this link: https://us.battle.net/account/management/authorizations.html Remove the Wowhead authorization, go back to your settings and relink (when prompted, make sure that you agree to share character info with us). See if that makes any difference.

Please be prepared to give us a tldr on your server (purpose, how long it's been around, activity) and we'll determine adding it to the list.

We've discussed this at length and ultimately have decided not to add filters. People far too often forget when they filter things and miss stuff, blaming the site for not covering something and instead finding it elsewhere. Just something we're not willing to risk. The tags make it easier to skip anything you don't want to see or find what you do, and that's as far as we're willing to go at this time.

right now (for me) the updates on uther's tomb indicate that it will play some role in the upcoming storyline, so in the end when it does there's propably a nice surprise waisted, but I don't expect one such information to be shown and others not. I realize that crawling through the changes in the beta and showing them is part of what you do, so I though there might be a way for me (as a person who doesn't want to be spoiled on the storyline) to hide those beta news altogether

Yesterday's major content beta build 8.0.1.26629 on 15th May 2018 caused a new bug in the WowheadLooter addon.
The wow api CalendarGetDate is a nil function now.
The WowheadLooter was updated today but this bug is not fixed.
In wow beta, this causes the WowheadLooter addon to loop continuously and is unusable (2k lua errors per min approx).
So I edited Wowhead_Looter.lua and modified the wlGetDate() function, as follows:

Visiting the BFA version of the site allows you to access the relevant talent calculators and search the database as it exists as of the most recent beta build.

@flint horizon the site isnt HTTPS everywhere due to limitations involving ads. However, pages without ads, like logins are HTTPS, further, since Premium users don't see ads, they have HTTPS everywhere on the site. That said, we hope to be able to go full HTTPS for everyone eventually.

I understand that limiting the number of reactions on the giveaways channel by preventing users from adding their own was for performance reasons, but I actually think it's cleaner and easier to understand like this. When I first began to participate in giveaways with Wowhead, I had never seen the emoticon you use before, so it took me a while to find it in all of the reactions added to the posts, and I had to double check I'd done it right. Now, it's obvious. No more uncertainty.

In wow beta, in a dungeon, the WowheadLooter addon loops continuously with map co-ords lua errors (20k lua errors in one dungeon run).

Well, I just tried hiding one of my characters, and it didn't remove the character from the contest list, so I don't think it's a matter of hiding the characters. Try readding the character normally and verifying.

Just need to have multiple verified profiles and that should eliminate that issue. Most achievements are account-wide, now, so it should register for all your characters.

You still should have been entered by the way, but, you're not going to want to delete, or convert to custom, the character you entered until after the giveaway winners are announced because that's when the charcters are actually checked to see if they meet the requirements. The check doesn't occur upon entering, only if you're one randomly selected.
I've never had this come up before so sorry for the confusion, you can always convert a profile to custom if you wish and then readd the official version. I recommend just using the dressing room though, depending on your goals.

It's part of the quest chain that used to lead to the legendary cloak from MoP.
I believe the quest chains are slightly different between the factions, though.

@summer adder, please bare in mind that the scenario is 4 years old. I haven't run it since it was first released, so I could easily be mistaken. I believe it displayed in the game as "Dalaran," but I could easily be mistaken. The only way to really know is to run it can find out, but I don't have any characters remotely close in questline to be able to try.
As for who is was available to, yes, it is for both factions, but their questlines are different. I linked the Wowhead guide that covers the entire chain. It is tabular, showing the Alliance questline on one tab and the Horde questline on another.

Game files. Wowhead doesn't just make up the data, but there's still plenty that they can't track/document. Just because the map/subzone displays a certain title, doesn't mean that's the title of the actual zone.
"Dalaran" is likely nothing more than a subzone of "The Situation In Dalaran" zone, which borrows from the quest title.

Usually items that appear multiple times are from previous expansions. i.e. MoP stuff had a separate item ID for each variation (heroic, thunderforged, etc), Blizzard created new ids for items that were re-added like the Anniversary World Bosses

Not at the moment, no. It needs to be displayed to everyone, logged in or not... and logged out users won't have a user settings page to look at for it.

As far as I understand you just need to provide the ability for users to opt out, logged in users could do so from a setting on their user page. This is the only site I've seen that has a permanent object stuck there to control the setting.

Unfortunately, just pausing it often doesn't do enough... I don't really understand why, but I'd bet if you disable it entirely and then load Wowhead the problem will be solved.

Well I have it paused for more that year without any issues, but I remember I sometime have same issue on mobile phone, where is no kind of addblock (oh, I wish there WAS)

That's a fairly common misconception, that just because it was fine for such and such amount of time it should remain so. Our site makes changes, and the adblock extension developers make changes; sometimes, those changes conflict and you get behavior like you illustrated above.
My bigger irritation personally is that it claims it's paused or disabled for a particular site but yet it still somehow can cause problems that get resolved by disabling it in the browser.

Then, still, like once per two or three months, I usually encounter same issue on my phone. Usually in EU morning. And there is no add block on phone at all.
Meanwhile page just loaded now, after I let it some time and then loaded it again, so I guess issue solved... for now. (Without even touching addblock settings)

Ah, well in that case I'm not sure what the problem was but glad it's working now. I can't help with the adblocker for your phone thing. Best I can offer to get rid of ads on the phone is our Premium subscription, which does disable ads across the site, mobile or otherwise, as long as you're logged in.

hello, im not sure if this has been discussed already. i read back a little and i didnt see it. Every time i open a wowhead page i get this pop-up, if i click "continue using site" the pop-up vanishes. however when i go to a new page (i click on a news article or an item page for example) the pop-up comes back again every time i go to a different page. i have adblocked disabled.

That banner (white on green) is provided by our EU ad provider, not ZAM. We've asked them why it pops up frequently, and they say as ad changes continue to be made quite rapidly with GDPR, there are new terms for users to review. We've asked them, when things calm down, if they can have the banner pop up less frequently.

It seems to happen at random, and its not consistent. Some servers have a double post on one news article, another has it for a different one. I've only witnessed it on ours once. I honestly have no idea. I'll talk to someone about it.

I also had the dev that revamped it look into it, and a specific example case, and we could find no record of anyone receiving it twice. Clearly some are, at least occasionally, but it's hard enough to diagnose these issues when you own both ends of the pipeline, in this case we just have the one. If the issue should become more prevalent we'll consider looking into it further but we'd probably need Discord's help for that.

I don't know any specifics but I think I recall hearing it's not possible to have HTTPS while providing ads? Pages without ads, such as the login page, are always HTTPS, and as Premium members don't get ads, they get full HTTPS everywhere.

For features like the Profiler/Pathfinder that update achievements and such on the website for meta achievement tracking, do I have to /camp or run the WoWHead Client for that to update or is it just a periodic thing?

Well, it depends, stuff like the pathfinder, achievements and equipped items for instance, it can fetch from the Armory, so it requires just you to be logged off.
Other stuff, like toys, aren't present in the armory, so they require you to upload your character data with the wowhead client in order to work.

well i tried copying to text editor to make sure nothing extra got in somehow. tried typing it manually, with/without the dashes. seperate browsers, etc. it'll go to next page saying, You are claiming: World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth Beta but when clicking the Continue button it just says An Error occured. Because you have to have a ZAM account in order to have a wowhead account. Once you attach your battle.net to your ZAM account, you'll be able to login using battle.net

It's been reported that even whitelisting the site doesn't always prevent ad blockers from causing problems. I would suggest trying to actually disable the addon to see it if changes what you're seeing.

What ads appear will varying from user-to-user based on privacy settings. As for the issue, I understand that whitelisting the site allows the ads to display and shouldn't cause problems, but I have also since users report issues similar to this that went away after they actually disabled the ad blocker, rather than just whitelisting it. The addon can always be immediately reenabled if it doesn't resolve the issue, I'm just offering you what I've seen in the past.

@loud rivet if you keep seeing the pop up with the white background, the settings that keep that closed are stored in your browser, not on our end or the ad providers. The settings involve LocalStorage and cookies. If either of these is deleted upon page close, browser close, or if they're just outright blocked you'll see this return often. Check your browser settings, extensions and any computer software that may impact these settings in your browser.
@wintry tide the battle.net button is for logging in, you can't register with b.net. it's there as an option for those who want one click login once it's set up. If you're still running into any issues with registration let me know, ty.

Cass, Evil: just FYI, it's really hard for me to troubleshoot the multiple possibilities that could be causing your cookies/localstorage to not be retained. Any number of extensions could be doing it, you could have them set to be removed upon closing the browser, some anti-virus or anti-malware software on your computer could be doing it... uh, depending on where you're logging in, this would happen on each new device and browser. If you're using a work computer or network, it might be wiping them out upon logout. Add in another 100 things as well π¦

I can say it's not something everyone is experiencing. I can't get it to pop up again unless I clear those out. In fact I'm clearing them out frequently to test and re-test the whole thing and make sure I'm understanding the experience of the user. It's the only way I can even get it to come back.
