I think it was the first boss of one of the raids, almost no mechanics, except he was on a platform made of hexagons. He'd mark people with big bombs and little bombs. Little bombs had to be dropped on single tiles whilst big bombs had you jump off the platform and you'd get blown up back onto it.
it was pretty much a patchwerk fight except for that and it was super neat
another boss had like 4 pillars and you had to hide behind them for big aoes except one of the pillars would break
it also had this super unique enrage mechanic where one person would be turned into an egg and had to be broken out

So if you want to play for free, you're forced into the EGS. There's no other way around it. If you wait half a year, you can pay to play what others have been playing for free.
