Hey everyone, I assume its a common thing people talk about and have probably already might of made a suggestion for a change, but regardless, I want to understand why its like this.

I'm talking about the Island missions. The fishing mission requirements for the Long and Medium missions, take significantly longer time to the point it feels like its worth dropping the fishing mission, waiting the cooldown and getting a slaying or mining for example, that take significantly less time to complete. I feel like the amout of fish for these missions, should be lowered a little bit.

Let me break it down and do some calculations:

During the catch fish event that lasts 5 minutes, I see mostly around 40-50 fish caught from the top 3 people. Thats a rate of 8 fish to 10 fish per minute.

At a rate of 8 Fish per Min:

Quick mission - 100 ÷ 8 = 12m 30s
Short mission - 350 ÷ 8 = 43m 45s
Medium mission - 1250 ÷ 8 = 2h 36m 15s
Long mission - 2000 ÷ 8 = 4h 10m

At a rate of 10 Fish per Min:

Quick mission - 100 ÷ 10 = 10 m
Short mission - 350 ÷ 10 = 35 m
Medium mission - 1250 ÷ 10 = 2h 5m
Long mission - 2000 ÷ 10 = 3h 20m

Keep in mind, that time is ONLY IF you literally never miss a single fish in the 3h 20m fishing session, never take a single second break and have the best rng from throw to throw. In reality, you will need at least 4-5 hours and more to complete the long mission and thats with a focused farming.

I'm fairly new to the server and I don't know if I'm missing a way of fishing quicker, maybe if there is a way to speed up the mission progress at higher levels, but to me it feels like the fishing is not only super boring, it takes just a single button to click, you arent moving around, aiming or anything to make it a little bit more engaging and it takes in my opinion, too much time.

Compared to lets say Slayer missions, which everyone knows are the absolute best to get, they are engaging, with high enough magnet pull, which you can achieve fairly easy like level 5000 of the enchant you start proccing it way more and it takes a lot less time to complete.

Lets say you do the Quick slayer mission in around 5 mins (150 kills / min) at the best scenario:

Quick mission - 750 ÷ 150 = 5 m
Short mission - 2500 ÷ 150 = 16m 40s
Medium mission - 7500 ÷ 150 = 50m
Long mission - 15000 ÷ 150 = 1h 40m

Again, this is with a optimal scenario, but its much more realistic to achieve. I can 100% guarantee with a maxed out sword and if you have someone killing on one side of zone and proccing the mob revival enchant, you can conplete it way quicker as well. Even at the worse case, it will take you no more than 2 hours 30mins. Thats 2 times less than the fishing and you dont even have to focus that much for it.

Sure mining and farming can feel tedious, but you can complete farming and mining without looking at the screen for the most part and they still take around the same around 2-3 hours.

Again, someone with more experience can correct me with my rates that i'm taking into count here. I would love to learn if im wrong with any of this information. It justs feels like fishing needs a little balance to the amount of time it takes to complete the missions. I would love yo get your guyes oppinions of this as well, so pleasr share your take on the topic.

just like with slaying, fishing goes fast if you have maxed enchants

Just a reminder you have 24 hours to complete a long mission yes some may be longer than others but they do not have to be completed instantly

If anything all the others get LONGER as more enchants proc, fishing allows rapid reel now I believe was added last season but others are raw

I get that but they all have there pros and cons

Farming- con: fastest u sacrifice token gain by disabling enchants
Longer : u get alot of tokens from enchantes

Mining con : u sacrifice exp gain by disabling enchants
Pro: u level more with enchants enabled

Slaying no pro/ fastest con : bad for exp/token gain

Fishing pro rapid reel and lots of gems
Con : most boring skill

Not to forget long missions gain 200 island points and the one.below only 50

I personally just think, and probably a lot of people will agree with me, the time sink into fishing is first, not fun and way too boring to be this long, not as rewarding especially early on, where you get close to no exp/tokens which early on are key for progression as well and third, I think this gamemode is super fun and addictive, but this fishing mission takes away a lot of the fun and I think a little balance is needed, shortening the required amount by a bit or adding a different counting system for it, maybe a whole new way of fishing.

I do get what jake is saying as well, but I still think, all the other missions, give out way more value early on and it just fucks up your season start if you get like 3-4 in a row especially, that could happen as well. At the end of the day I feel like balancing it a bit, will increase the fun and likelyhood of people sticking to playing / grinding and everything else on the server, than complaining all the time about that mission in perticular. Sure in some scenarios reducing the amount of fish will cause a little bit of inbalance later on, but just like cargo, can we not scale it lategame as in the more you do it, the harder it becomes up to a point or something along the lines ?
