a lot of new players don’t check rules when they join and are always begging in chat / asking how to play and i think it could be a good idea that when new players join they get a pop up (like a book) with some basic rules such as no boosting or begging for items ect. and tips of how to play such as /questbook ect. it would save staff alot of time i always see them in chat having to tell new players no boosting or begging

which they have to close ( accepting the rules)
there is probably a pre-made plugin as i have seen similar things on other servers before.
i agree.
you dont need a plugin it is like 3 lines of code in "skript"
ipav 🤢
Issue might be delaying rule updates
though not sure if that would be an actual consequence
hmm sorry what do you mean?
Updating the ingame book might take more time then a google doc
ohhhh okay yes i understand sorry brains so slow rn
not sure if itd be enough of a delay to matter tho
depends on how difficult the behind the scenes is for ipav on that
i wasn’t thinking putting every rule in it just like the basic ones and then a bit of text saying to check /rules to see them all
but just like basic ones like boosting spamming toxicity and a few simple tips like if your stuck to quest quest book ect
yk what i mean
eh that might be abit much for that
tbh most of those rules are basics across servers
if people dont know those, they prob aren't the type to read a rules book
yeah that’s true but a lot of people lack common sense and need a little reminder sometimes
there could maybe be a way to make it uncloseable for a few seconds to make more chance of them to maybe read not sure how hard that would be to code though
Possibly, just still not sure if their is much value
people would still prob ignore it
just like reading the fine print before clicking accept
no one reads that, and those who would prob can assume the rules
yeah yeah i see what your saying but i was just thinking if there’s that people don’t have the excuse that they didn’t check /rules yk
bc your forced to see it when you join
then theyd have the excuse they just skipped over that lol
and also we dont consider the excuse they didnt check rules valid
it's really a balancing game between its realistic use and the bloat it introduces
or possibly if the book thing isn’t a good idea maybe a little message when you join telling you to check /rules if there isn’t already i can’t remember if that’s a thing
like yk how rapid reel gives you a screen message when it activates
just thought it would save staff a lot of time where they could be helping people who actually need it instead of having to tell people boosting isn’t allowed ect
if i got a £ for every time i see someone ask for 10m for the shard quest i would be a millionaire by now
people would do that regardless lol
and i believe the floating text at spawn says something about doing /rules?
not 100% sure but i do recall that
With the new built-in Minecraft custom interface feature for servers, this is easy to implement. SR have started to use it (the search filter for /marketplace as an example) so I don't see why they can't do something like this for the rules.
The problem is a lot of players (including me) tend to just scroll past everything to enable the "Access Server" button. Well, I mean by then, no one will have an excuse on breaking the rules.
If the devs are adding this, they should prioritize the more server-exclusive rules like anti-boosting.
Not technically 3 lines but it would be hard to do with skript and iPav we know yall still have skripts in the server
dawg there’s 3 skripts on the server
we already have a no excuse policy
that doesnt change anything
What language do yall use now?
python
How do you use python for Minecraft plugins?
?
with python
