"Dear Render Cube / Toplitz Team,
Iโ€™m writing to you as a dedicated long-term player of Medieval Dynasty I truly appreciate your dedication and the heart you put into this game. This is why I believe my vision for the future of the series is best handled by you โ€“ a team that still cares about its project and its community.
My Proposal: The Modular Epoch System.
Instead of releasing every era as a standalone game, I suggest continuing the journey of a single dynasty through paid DLCs (one-time purchase, e.g., 10โ€“20 โ‚ฌ). Once a player has 'conquered' the Medieval era, they could transition into the next age (e.g., Baroque or Industrial Revolution).

  • The Concept: Keep your family bloodline and your legacy across centuries.
  • The Mechanics: New assets, professions, and resources are added as modular expansions.
  • The Reality: I am aware that transitioning between eras is a massive technical challenge (new assets, AI behaviors, balancing). However, by structuring this as a paid DLC series, you could finance the development of each era step-by-step without risking the core game.
I am in my mid-40s and would love to play this concept until my retirement! A 'major developer' would likely ruin this with microtransactions โ€“ you, however, have the soul and the passion to get it right.
P.S.: I don't need any money if you use this โ€“ a small in-game monument or a mention in the credits would be the greatest reward for a fan like me! Hehe.
    Best regards from the Valley,
    Caaliyah

Hi ๐Ÿ™‚ thanks for this great suggestion @unkempt fiber

I'm not sure about implementing this with the actual game (since the game is limited by the engine that was used to code it)... but it could be awesome for a future game by Render Cube, maybe.

If they were to do a Medieval Dynasty 2 with a new engine and more features etc (since many suggestions existing here aren't possible mainly because of the engine), I could for sure support (and clearly buy) a DLC like the one you're suggesting!

(This is a me as a user comment not a moderation one)

โ€‹"Thanks for your feedback, Lady Bella! You are absolutely right. My main point is the concept of evolving through epochs itself. Whether they implement it in the current game or use it as a foundation for a future 'Dynasty' title with a new engine โ€“ the most important thing for me is the ability to keep your legacy and bloodline alive while the world around you changes into a new era.

I've sent your suggestion directly to the team to make sure they notice it

Wow, thank you so much! That means a lot to me.

it would clearly be for players who are willing to play on the long term though as 1 hour in game is 2 IRL minutes... if you aren't sleeping 1 day in-game is 48 minutes IRL (my in-game days are about 25 minutes as I'm sleeping every night)... with 3 days per season it's almost 2.5 hours per season.... so 10 hours per year....

MD is set around 1080... beginning of Renaissance era is around 1453.. it would be.... almost 300 hours IRL to get to that point (based on no-sleep playthrough)

I see your point about the time calculation, but my idea isn't necessarily tied to waiting for hundreds of in-game years. The transition could be triggered by reaching certain milestones instead. For example, once you have gathered enough resources and upgraded all your buildings and workshops to the maximum level for the current era, you 'unlock' the next epoch. This way, the player's effort and progress determine the speed, not just the clock. It keeps the motivation high because you always have something to build and upgrade

#

The epochs don't have to be centuries apart. They could be smaller, logical steps. When a new era begins, the environment and the available resources change. As a player, you would then have to explore the map again to find these new materials. Your old buildings wouldn't just disappear โ€“ you would upgrade them with the new resources to match the new era. This way, the progression feels natural and you always have a reason to keep improving your village.

yeah.... I agree with the "have to explore the map again to find new resources etc" part, but as the team worked really hard for the game to be realistic, I'd like to be able to choose between milestones or reality to unlock the new eras.

#

and I would clearly want to be forced to play a few generations minimum before being able to unlock a new era (because when you use customized settings you can unlock techs and things super quickly.... it would be bad to change era before end of year 1 because you are playing 30 days per season and 1000% tech gain)

That is a fantastic point! Combining milestones with a generation-lock would be the perfect balance. For example: to unlock the next era, you need both the technical progress (upgraded buildings) AND an heir who has reached a certain age. This ensures that the 'Dynasty' part remains the heart of the game and players don't just rush through the technology. It makes the transition feel like a real achievement for the whole family line
