Glad you started your saga here. 😎💯
are there a first and a second somewhere? 😛
Nope and that's the funny part.
First summer is coming to the end and his starts to look with a more sense in mind.
Rn, my settlers have only a single employment, that is lumberjack as I am focusing on enstablishing construction materials production first, but give it time.
And the lumberjack in question
The last sentence:
"Fisherman who is convincing people to do the job for him must have a good laugh. However, visiting that place in next season might be a good idea."
What the fisherman doesn't know is that I am also lazy one here.
I just buy the fish from fisherman and few other sources and then put them into a bag.
Another season is closing its end and new house was added to accomodate worker in new extraction hut.
I need stones for construction and limestone for plastering
And the hut in question.
I think I need to buy more buckets and fill them with water to accomodate growing population
(food is much less of a problem)
Ahaha, I love you translate these Polish names. I had no idea they were so funny 😂
they are meme worthy
that's why I translate them
if they weren't funny it wouldn't be noticeable enough to show
I have reported this already on language error chat, but I am reposting here for memery
Apparently, my character might be accident make it so that he is woman (he is male definetely), because he said female form of word "I have arrived" instead of male one.
Or is it revealing?
🧐
I am just posting a screen here for my own use
this quest is utterly confusing for me
Conspiracy theories, level Medieval Dynasty: wife tells me how her husband was hit by a tree and now believes in existence of developers, NPCs and stuff.
Don't tell them that they are right!
Not only he got it revealed, but even having depression over it
It goes even better.
I told him he is more important than he thinks and he complains that he isn't part of any important questlines.
I told him he acts more humanlike by sheer virtue of having just normal life and his response is that he feels fake because he isn't a living thing, but composition of presets, animations, few dialogs and co.
From in game conspiracy theories to existentialism. Powerful.
After telling him he is part of the world he is in and in that world he is real, he now complains he has no free will of his own.
Kill the lynxes or bring five logs.
Don't bring them immediately because I want you to remember me.
Ok, if it suits his existentialist depression, let thim served as he wishes.
"Recovering conciousness caused Falisław only suffering and despair. Tasks given by him have no sense, but have to be done nevetherless. [At least] it's good that it hadn't happened to other NPCs or the developers would need to introduce psychologists. Or entire village of psychologists."
and he just forgot about it next day
Winter is going and new family entered the village. Another lumberjack was built... to produce planks and firewood. The former will lead eventually to its own drink production, the latter will keep people warm.
And the lumberjacks.
Time to end this season, and with it the first year of the settlement.
Also the map, for yearly summary.
Unusual love declaration, I must admit
"The next paper is declaration: "I don't care who reads it. I fell with love with my shovel and I am not ashamed of it at all!"
his name is not translated btw
I love this kind of easter egg ^^
FYI if he talks about Karolina, she's one of the devs in charge of quests ^^
I don't kinkshame either ^^
Due to end of beta testing, which I was part of, the tale from this playthrough will return again to this thread.
To give a brief summary, for those who hadn't been in beta testing (and thus couldn't seen a progress I was making and reporting there), there's spring year 6 rn. Up to then, village vastly expanded: two mining settlements were enstablished, the lumberjack village got expanded and the main village itself got vastly developed. Most of housing bar one are already plastered and main settlement is circled with palisade.
Village reached 107 inhabitants, 71 of whom are actively working. The amount of buildings reached 87 total, including 43 houses, 15 warehouses (12 for materials and 3 for food), 4 service buildings (two builder huts, two trade tents making a marketplace area), 14 production buildings (2 kitchens, 8 forges, one tailor, one tavern and two workshops), 3 farming buildings (one barn and two farmer huts), one hunting hut and seven excavation buildings (2 excavation huts, 2 lumberjacks, 2 mines and one well).
Spring itself was one of more laborious seasons. I initally planned to build 3 orchards this season, but went too far ahead and build four, living one orchard unplanted and left for next year's spring. This however raised total amount of agricultural grounds to 18 fields and 17 orchards.
To accomodate ever increasing amount of fields and orchards and lower travelling distances, I built new farmer hut raising a total number of them to two as mentioned above.
The new expansion necessitated construction of two new houses, raising total number to 43. The only house left for plastering in entire village is the one on the left of this picture.
The ever increasing demand for storage space necessitated construction of yet another warehouse for materials, raising total number of them to 12.
Last but not least, to make walking easier, new bridge through lake was built (the one on left, in the background. The one on right was built previously).
This concludes spring of year 6.
Summer was no less laborious season than previous. The peninsula between Piastovia and my settlement, where I previously dug roads and built bridgest connecting it with rest of my settlement, got circled by palisade. This necessitated slight realignment of built road, but was hopefully doable. Likewise, all trees inside were cleared off, leaving area for future expansion.
Two more smithies were built to smelt iron ore into iron ingots. Whereas the production still hadn't reached level which would enable me to start selling iron ingots (nor surprassed current production level of iron ore), the progress is ongoing.
The new smithies necessitated increasing size of labour force, hence two new houses were built to accomodate the populace. Likewise, I finally finished plastering all houses I have built, rn all of them in the valley are properly plastered.
Some show ups: a view of fragment of my settlement from north, close to where gate enabling enter of peninsula is located.
My character's manor.
And the view on fragment of farmland.
This concludes summer, for now.
The legend himself. The betroot baron!
Autumn has been no less laborious season than previous were. New herbalist hut was built, to gather herbs for healing potion and brew it on spot.
New trade tent has been built too, to sell above mentioned healing potions to populace.
New expansion necessitated construction of another house, which was also already plastered.
New food storage was built, next to materials storage next to Piastovia. Both serve as unloading point for me to sell and buy things between Piastovia and my settlement.
And last, but not least, a northern bank district of my settlement was also circled with palisade.
This concludes autumn.
A view of my settlement during winter.
Unlike previous seasons, there wasn't much progress during winter. I mostly spent that season doing quests and royal challenge to produce weaponry for royal host. However, house has been built (and plastered) to accomodate the need for more labour due to women moving to maternal leave.
Likewise, due to progress I have done in fullfilling royal requests, the village finally earned its right to have its own coat of arms. You can see it here.
The village is still divided on two mining settlements, one forest camp, aswell as main settlement.
The main village itself is sufficiently large, and growing. The only limiting factor is building limit, as I have already built 96 buildings out of available 140 (and yet don't feel the village to be finished).
The population reached 122 inhabitants, 78 of them working.
That concludes winter and year 6.
"I need some money to buy myself a toy. I heard, that crime pays well..."
The kid in question
needless to say, organized crime starts early
Spring of seventh year was mostly agriculture focused. First, orchard left from previous year was finally planted with apple samplings.
Another one was dug and planted, which concludes orchard expansion.
Two new onion fields (to increase production of meat stew and vegetable soups) and four new flax fields (for trade and later use) were also planted.
This raised total amount of fields and orchards to 24 fields and 18 orchards.
Next year, focus on fields will continue, but for now it's enough.
In addition, three new material warehouses were built, raising total number of them to 15.
And finally, my character got better armor.
Summer wasn't an idle season, either. New trade tent was built, to sell more wine to thirsty inhabitants.
In addition, because production of juice vastly outnumbered demand by wine production, a new tavern was built, dedicated solely to making wines (apple, cherry, plum and pear ones).
This of course necessitated construction of two new houses (one in direct view, the other behind it, on the left) to provide housing for the workforce.
This concludes the summer.
Decided to continue this playthrough, at least until hitting limit of 140 buildings.
Autumn has been productive season. Some production quotas have been rebalanced to match consumption with production. Two new houses were built, to provide new workforce.
New well has been built, to fill buckets with water for consumption.
Also new tailor was built to weave linen cloth and needles for commerce reasons.
This concludes the autumn.
"The size matters"
Inhabitants of Old Riverside!
Today everyone can feel like fisherman from Ostoya. Bring fish to quartermaster, to get chance to win a reward. We expect participants to only bring the fishes they have fished themselves. We hope for your honesty and respect for rules.
(they want 16 pikes)
My response: yeah, I feel little cheaty again I absolutely abhore finishing, but quests must be done.
[about large demand for fertilizer]: Large part of the Kingdom was hurt by crop failure. Thus the King tasked me breathing the mission to collect fertilizer from regions which fare better.
Response 1. What a glorious mission! How could I miss opportunity to give you some shi... fertilizer.
Response 2. I care [slur for urine] about that. [the rude dismissal, very rude one]
if I was translating the second sentence literally, I would break the server rules.
of the server which this game is about
ok, they went as far as go for old Polish saying about "power in numbers" playing on pun for k word (equiqvalent of English p**p) when it comes to task name
also you read it right. 160 units of manure, 160 units of rot, 160 units of fertilizer.
I suppose I will pass that.
I can't buy rot and I never generated it so far because villagers eat sooner than food spoils (besides I also sell off rotting food).
Nazbieraj mięsa ( 3 zgnilizny) lub kapusty (4 zgnilizny) i odłóż na ziemie lub kompostownika na 1 sezon popsuje sie i szybko możesz przerobić na nawóz.
Gnój idzie kupić.
Collect meat (3 rot) or cabbage (4 rot) and put it on the ground or composter for 1 season, it will break down and you can quickly process it into fertilizer.
sh!t, you may buy
I know, I know
Nice to see the name of my city in the game 😄
