Yeah this is the "max pop" run mate (or very high pop anyway), I am planning on 80 houses so I will have 160 adults and so very very many children loitering around being "obstacles" for riding my horse through the village rofl
I have been recruiting a ridiculous amount per season tbh (although i only take NPC's with initial stats like 333222 so there has been many "hire and fire" campfire peasants pool resets aye, it does work to rid the pool of the ones that are quite suboptimal)
Every single house is 1/4 currently (the only one not is the 3/4 one in my screen which is my own one 🥲), once I hit 80 houses I am starting the "pairing them up" stage... that is when the baby boom really starts mate and I will go into recruitment overdrive to fill the 50% of houses that are then vacant 😉
I have about 20 houses to go before that happens aye Aciaru (and yes, unemployment will be rife tbh, the village will be a small scale variation of a "welfare state" unto itself matey 🤣)

That‘s quite the project! I actually started to leave them alone in a house for a while, too, it’s a good strategy (though you have to bear with the constant „I don’t want to be lonely anymore…“). Having many riding obsta- er, kids running around is nice, too. 😇

Exactly, the amount of time i have had to listen some random (mostly male) villagers say the "I don’t want to be lonely anymore" or "Some marriages are not about love..." is getting to the "turn off voice" setting rofl
My tactic is good for getting high lvl NPC's (ie ones that are lvl 10 in at least 2 skill trees) but it requires immense patience aye mate 😉

I am going to post "new and updated" versions of Wisent and Bear hunting vids (before I give you ppl any of my actual village screenshots 🤣)
I have been asked for these alot and we can link them to new players aye in the chats
I will do these in "sets" - 1st set is with buffs and 2nd set is without
I will do an "High Tier" version first (Elite weapons and armour) then "Mid Tier" versions after (bronze weapons and armour)

These following are made with Cherry (stamina) and Plum (melee dmg) Wine buffs (they are the best - you can also add Apple Wine for the HP regen if needed)
Elite Pick, Elite Shield, Iron Spears and Recurve Bow + Iron Arrows are used along with a full Elite Armour set
All Animal HP and DMG has been set to 100% (default values) for these vids
Additional note for all the vids I will post below: performing a "3 hit combo" with a melee weapon does more damage on the 3rd hit than normal - this is hard the pull off sometimes so at least try to 2 hit them then try a 3 hit after that once they start pathing away from you
Once an animal reaches "low HP" (seems to be about 20% to me) they move much slower, making finishing them off much easier aye

Note: I am shooting the Wisent to aggro the "herd" onto me (for the drama ofc lol), you can use a Camo Potion to only deal with one at a time if needed

Note: using Shield and hitting the primary attack key (LMB for PC) uses a "push attack" that does almost no dmg but disrupts the Bears attack - this is vital to get them to path away from you so you can then chase them and hit them with a Pick, they circle around you/don't "run off" but doing enough dmg after blocking their initial attack causes them to path away aye and then you chase them while hitting them over and over

Yes exactly Crazy (my 1st gen I married an NPC and had a female with her that I am currently playing as), I then "made my co-op player grind skill lvls" and impregnate me and carried our precious babies - while engaging in some intense melee hunting the whole time ofc lol
Btw, the female heir is quite good for a 4yo aye, better than the male one who is 7 years older 🥲
You can just get another player to join and insta-marry them and then ask for a baby right away btw (need to be in 10years age difference of each other tho as new joins start at 18yo which is the normal age difference limitation for player marriage) then repeat the process for the 2nd heir with another player if so desired 😉

Younger children learn faster because they copy a lot from their older siblings xD I once had two children (in a 3-bed house 🤭 ) due to a bug and found it really nice to have two little ones running around. The younger one was also a bit smarter.

Well, I don't know how much you decorated, so the praise is more for your social skills in hiring these two until I see proof of your decorating. 😉 I did always think that you should be able to become a decorator though. You always commented on especially beautiful/unique pictures, so you have an "eye" for beauty at least. I believe that's the basis for creating something yourself, the rest is motivation and patience.

I did have a suspicion that the later screens were @halcyon hamlet 's work though. In some of the earlier screens the lighting was, um, not optimal 🤭 .

Funny story: I used these very torches that are in this house for my first pyre, so I buried them all in a haystack using the omader method. I only added a few campfires. Suddenly, it lagged very satisfying. Funny, isn't it, that most of the torches weren't even visible anymore.

Thanks mate much appreciated (I actually "decorated" this area by myself without my hired decorators doing anything)
I have used Evergreen Shrubs to make a "wall" that keeps the animal spawns there and contains them (there is a bear and moose spawn there)
Using normal fences etc would remove them so I needed to find a way to keep the spawns AND make a wall to contain them since I don't want to chase them when I "hunt" in melee lol - the lights are only there because I like them tbh lol
I have a second one for Wisents with an Archer Tower (to minimise the amount of "accidental headshots" from my lovely co-op players rofl) I will show that soon too 😉

I decided to make some hunting vids for nostalgia aye, this thread started with these 🥹
All these are 500% animal HP and DMG
This first one is the "Death Swamp" during the day, the "walled pathways" out of it encourage the animals go up them and also make it easier to shoot them 😉

This is another Bear hunting area next to the lake I use
The 2nd bear almost kills me but I survive with some fancy shield attacks lol

This is my main Wisent hunting area, I am forcing them to path into the "Evergreen Walls" to make it easier to attack them in melee

The camo potion is the most important buff in the game imo mate, it is almost too good but let's not make the devs nerf it lol
I can handle not having the Stamina and Damage buffs from the Cherry and Plum Wines, but Camo is so useful - it means you only have to fight one animal at a time which on higher HP and DMG settings is essential imo
There is alot of drama tho when you get gang attacked by multiple predators ngl 🥲, really makes the blood pressure skyrocket aye 😉

So "Death Swamp" is not called that for nothing 😉
Now I have my precious Wisent spawn back (a certain decorator made some fences too close and removed the Wisents for like a decade... I fixed the mistake 👀) and now everything is amazin again as it should be 🥹
This single spot nets me between 450 -550 meat every season depending on spawn numbers
Animals are at 600% HP and DMG (I had to break the vid into 2 as it was too big for Discord limits lol)

This is the Wisent half, it was a true battle but Apple Wine is amazin + my cheese strat of "guiding" them into my Evergreen walls works well too 😉

So I have decided to make the early game to late game Hunting vids I promised ages ago lol (actually back in a beta test) - using only melee weapons and the random thrown spear 😉
This one is Stone Axe (it is best early game melee weapon) on Boars
Notice I am pulling them from the "herd" or "pack" one by one - this is vital
I will do these with most the aggressive animals (Boars, Bears and Wisents in that order, this is the order of difficulty btw)
No buffs, starting at stone weapons and advancing up the quality tree (Stone, Copper, Bronze, Iron, Elite)
Hopefully this will help new players see how to handle these animals
And yes, I am using this Madonna song (Hung Up) in all of these, handle it aye 🤣
