Then we'd need stocks to detain them in the village square, and children could throw manure at them for medieval lols.

I know it´s sarcasm ,BUT HELL YEA

I personally have the feeling that most of the villagers are pretty much soulless sacks of flesh.So giving them a strong personality ,like being a complete ahole ,would make them much more memorable and organic to interact with.
