Many things we know about the medieval times comes from books and manuscripts .Like medieval sword fighting techniques or even things as recipe books . but not only today is such literature highly valued in the old days books were often worth their weight in gold.what Im trying to say is, that it would be a nice high reward item for quest or just random rare drops ,to find such books with useful knowledge about the game while also unlocking otherwise hidden abilities like fighting techniques, farming secrets or healing knowledge .so like a 50/50 tips and abilities ratio .So it would be as valuable to an noob as a more experienced player. it would also be a good place to bring some other suggestions to the game.

Niether would be much help for a peasent tho
Peasants doesnt read AFAIK
I´m not so much in the lore but ins´t Racimir the son of a adveturer that regularly visited the king and even had tasks assigned to him. So I don´t think it´s unrealistic that he could write and read to some degree . Also ,even tho most simple peasant´s couldn't read or write at all ,some could at least understand simple texts and write like a preschooler. especially merchants and leaders.
It was his uncle, Iordan.
In the year 1080 aD most books would be found in monastries or king's palaces. Some might even be found in posession of nobility/clerus. No simple man (or woman) had books.
1080 every book you could buy, had been copied by hand (mostly in a monastry) and was very, very, very expensive.
It may be true, that some people (like wealthy merchants) could read and write and even had their own documents, but these documents were just simple lists.
But in context of the game it would make sense if some rich nobleman traveling through the land would gift you a book made by his high ranked fencing instructors or Medici .As a thank for saving him from bandits or helping him with an important quest .also many craftsmen masters wrote down their knowledge for there apprentices or just to remember there techniques so maybe we would never find a bible decorated with gold ornaments .but a diary of a forging master or doctor ,a castelan ,like we are at some point ,surly could get there hands on. Also the rarity and expense is kind of the point why it would make a great late game item.
also if we think in manuscripts or scrolls .one sheet would still be expensive but not impossibly so
@sudden lake schönes Video übrigens.(nice Video)
Sorry, but no, it wouldn't make sense.
Giving a book as a quest reward doesn't help when you're illiterate. Reading and writing were the purview of the wealthy or monastic orders.
this is a good idea a mod should analyse this
mods have nothing to do with this, we are not devs 😉
Ok, then sorry
np 🙂
Do you know how we can know if they take our suggestions into account?
yes: you post them here ^^
the devs don't react to them (nor do the CMs), because they are busy working on the game 😉
but if a suggestion has a lot of positive reactions (and is doable), they'll look into it
Ok, thanks¡
