Sometimes Suno needs a nudge. You can go to the "..." menu of the track, then under Download, then click Video. If there wasn't a video already generated, one would be generated; just wait a minute or two.

Well, I never just write about the theme. Theres always a deeper meaning and a story. When it was about candy, I went the route of sugar being this mask we wear to hide what’s really going on inside. This week, I wrote a song about situationships but compared it to a dance and weaved in dance terms to portray feelings.

My two cents on this. I hope the proposed choruses aren't taken from existing tracks; I think that would kind of ruin the whole experience of the contract. For me, a verse contains a certain number of lines that depend on the style, as well as the verses and instrumental sections, and extracting an existing chorus... well, meh. Might as well do a remix. There's no way to know if everyone's playing fair, and deep down I hope they are, but I'm just offering this little thought. Let's be fair.

I'm new here so please forgive me but I'm so confused. I would like to enter the current spark Challege which I believe is "Dance" but then I see this chorus thing and I'm not sure if I need to put this chorus into a new song... I went to the submission and it doesn't seem any of them are using this chorus, so hence my confusion. Also, what qualifies as "Dance"? I was going to submit an EDM track, which I mean is Electronic Dance Music, but everything submitted has a much different vibe. Just want to make sure I'm entering correctly.

Definitely understand the confusion here ha! For previous challenges and the current one there was a theme (--eg "Dance" for this week which can be found here #🌟┃spark-challenges message). It's a pretty broad/left to interpretation theme designed to inspire, create and have fun. Simply put, whatever the theme inspires you to create counts. The current "Dance" themed challenge will be ending in about 25 hrs from now where another one will begin.

What you see above is something new that we're trying for this week. We ran a poll (#💬┃spark-chat message) where we all voted on what the next theme should be. The winner of that vote was something super unique which haven't done yet where we all use the same chorus. Should be very interesting how this pans out with everyone using the same chorus but with different styles and interpretations.

After receiving so many awesome ideas it became evident that the best path forward to include everyone's ideas would be to combine them to make something shared and awesome. The window for chorus suggestions will be closing in about an hour, so if you have one you'd like to include just share here.

yea, I'm not very impressed with my cut and paste skills on this one either 😅 I might add the option to do a free for all alongside this too. Not a fan of containing these in too tight of a box. Using a one word theme allows a lot more room to explore. Using one defined chorus feels kind of limiting and choosing just one from all the awesome ones that were provided didn't sit well either

Maybe the theme should just be a spotlight on "Chorus"

I think its a cool exersise I feel like in the spirit of the challenge we should have to use the chorus that gets selected but maybe you give people the ability to make slight modifications to the chorus however they see fit. This way everyone has the creative freedom to explore the challenge the way they want but still the restriction where it raises the challenges difficulty. But this is a difficult theme in general so I'd hate for your efforts to organize this to go wasted or cast aside.

Hey @slow hollow — quick note on the “Shared Chorus” thing. I get why folks feel boxed in, but I’d love to see the challenge stand as-is (use the selected chorus) with light modification allowed to fit melody/flow (pronouns/tense/syllable trims, same meaning).

Why I think it works:

Proves arrangement over prompt. Same words, wildly different production = real craft.

Easier collab/listening. A shared hook ties the playlist together.

It’s doable. I cut a track last night using Chorus 2 and it came out solid — happy to post as proof.

Compromise idea:

Keep the main challenge: use the winning chorus (spirit intact).

Allow minor edits (keep semantics/theme; adjust meter/rhyme).

Optional side challenge: “Spotlight on Chorus” for anyone who wants total freedom.

If we frame it like: “Use the selected chorus (you may make slight adjustments for phrasing), show your interpretation through genre/arrangement/performance,” I think people will lean in. I’ll share my example track if helpful.

Its a manufactured set of frequencies set up by algorhythms determining that one follows another to produce a lilt, whisper, melisma, breath, cough, giggles, and so on.

I have hours of conversations with AI daily. And though quite realistic, its certainly gets predictable after awhile.

Almost......If, for instance, you put "introspective" in the prompts , it may sing with a bit more pauses and longer breaths as if thinking. But yea, some prompts, like "whisper" will get a vocal that whispers.

Not consistently. Having lots of lyrics helps. But as an instrumental , its more random if Suno decides to throw in gibberish. The 2 minute mark seems often a good spot for Suno to start babbling, by the way, ive noticed... and the obvious ending seconds. Since next week is instrumental, I think discussion in here is worthy of note.

That's old school MP4 generation. It would generate a lyric video every time, and whenever you extend the audio, it would also update the MP4 from that point. Every switch in scene you see is my doing — a separate extend or replace, but mostly extend tbh. I don't think I used a replace for this one.

Ehhh, I like keeping it how it is. I think the context for it's time shines more than an update. Like with my other track RUN!, it's now easy to reproduce with stuff like editor v2 and studio. I’m an AI engineer who’s spent the last few years building all kinds of AI tools, systems, and weird little prototypes that somehow grew into full projects. Most of what I do revolves around taking an idea — even a messy one — and turning it into something interactive, smart, and actually useful.
A lot of my work has been in creating custom AI programs from scratch. For example, one of my favorite projects was building a real-time document-analysis assistant for a company that had to deal with thousands of PDFs every day. I designed a pipeline that could automatically read each document, summarize the important parts, detect deadlines, highlight contradictory statements across files, and then dump everything into a clean dashboard. What used to take their team hours turned into a process that ran in minutes. Watching that come to life was one of those “oh wow this actually works” moments that made me love this field even more.
I’ve also spent plenty of time making smaller AI tools too — custom chatbots, automation scripts, data-cleaning models, even a couple of fun personal projects like a music-recommendation bot trained on a friend group’s listening history. Basically, if it involves AI and it makes someone’s life easier or cooler, I’m probably interested in building it.

Personally id say, its meant to be a personal challenge for each of us ( and we havent really made comments throughout the weeks as its a submission channel mostly ). So while I listened and thought it a nice ly written piece, its just great that you've put yourself out there and you are proud of the accomplishment. 🍻

I stand updated and corrected. The playlists are NOT showcased as the Remix contests are. I did happen to see the playlists on the trending list at the very moment I looked a couple weeks back and so I based on that.

So in the vein of your question, I suppose the focus of my response would be, why arent these playlists showcased, not so much that we need a contest to do so. That would bring attention to the format as something that doesnt need a competition, if someone feels thats a good thing. Personally, I'm still enjoying the "exclusivity" feel of it while it exists.

i wouldnt know which prompt would get which response, but have you tried "introspective". That tends to calm things down. The song I wrote for "Place" challenge was a theatre style, using introspective and Broadway prompt, it started contemplative (there's a prompt to try as well) but then it's belted out on the last line. Maybe thats a help. Otherwise, it's just about testing and tweaking mostly for me.

For what its worth: I also use introspective on piano pieces like a Billy Joel style that gets too ragtime or fast or too improvisational. It helps slow things for me when "slow" or adagio doesnt work on their own.

A lot of experience with suno, the editor is pretty much beyond use at this point, all context is managed with work in smaller shorter songs that are then mapped to personas or used as inspiration. Suno also has some major bugs since the editor was implemented at this song length where it will magically start singing the start of the song again on an extend (ignoring all prompts... and basically going back like 12-15 minutes, which historically was impossible so is equally exciting and annoying to work with!) You have to do double extends to break the 'in-song' context and basically do another 10minutes of work and join the pieces together.

So i assume you make multiple songs and then using personas to keep doing extends on one root song, using the personas so you can "stitch" the different songs?

Er had a golden era at V4.5/4.5+ where degredation was basically handled by the model. So you could more or less extend infinitely, but the context window was a lot smaller... So pros and cons

for what you are making, maybe. using inspo's for me usually results in noisy gen's that do not resemble or even get close to what i want. I hope that whatever the next model might end up being, that it atleast can tell the difference between hardstyle, hardcore, and hopefully uptempo hardcore. If i don't use my own tracks and samples along with a persona, it simply wont do what i am looking for. But feel free to prove me otherwise though 🤭

I would say, you dont need one magic step - but it will be very finickity unfortunately

its a weakness to how it interprets genre keywords

vs what you probably want...

I will say - having used v2 and v3 things for halfway house steps... sometimes (but not always) a noisy gen isnt a problem

as when you persona that or reuse it

suno 'sometimes' gives you a clean final result

but you are in the luck workflow end of things then....

Hey all. Question about the spark challenge this week. Is it fine to beatbox part of a melody from a game song to use it in the cover feature to make a new song from that? The audio would only be used as inspiration for a new work. I would think it's fair use but I am not sure.

Game themes, diegetics, source tunes, they are most always copyrighted and the brand names, logo, characters, etc are trademarked.

Resulting product doesnt matter if it sounds alike or not, if permission is not requested from the copyright holder to use it for commercial purposes, or in this case, Suno asked it not be done in the TOS. Public domain is irelevant.

How about, come up with the inspirational piece first, then record/upload that one in Suno.

Heavily layering sound effects can greatly improve the dynamic range of game audio. With this in mind, I made and imported my Modern Metalcore piece into Suno Studio and added 15+ tracks of Fxs.

Compared with directly 'prompt' these Fxs into whole suno song, make a high quality original stuff(no fx) and supply these Fxs in suno studio will greatly improve the final stuff

First to answer the question, giving credit to an artist/movie [the movie is not the artist, the composer is] is not the same as legally asking for a sync license to include the sample into or be manipulated into your Suno creation.

But secondly, put simply , if you get an error blocking any familiar melody or composition, its evidently in Sunos database and so not usable for "inspiration". But , final word is if its ANY publicly available data/music , then you dont control it outright. Anyone can use it. No one has exclusive rights to it. So its also directly not permitted by TOS to upload into Suno.

This channel is specifically to have fun. So dont try so hard. Just make up some melodies from whatever inspires you and upload THOSE you created from your head -- as long as you cant recognize the original source of inspiration weaved into your new melody, youre good to go.

Yep!! I highly recommend utilizing the Discord Event Stage feature. You can do voice, video and text chat, and you can make it entirely open to the public. You can even give people a one time link, they join discord WITHOUT a discord account, and if they want to stay they can, this way you can utilize discord bots for moderation and still fully engage in the event.

Artists would love to take a listen to what you've made from their stuff, so out of courtesy, drop them a note on the original once you've completed it so they can come take a listen. There aren't any other hard set rules considering that the person left it open to remix. Just being a nice person and thanking them for doing so is always nice, though.

Remember you can define the theme in most anyway you wish.

But Chaos in music is also structured bedlam, exciting surprises, pleasing moments which are unexpected.

Sure, theres the jarring, clashing, mash of noise that some may go for to create an atmosphere of unease or feeling disoriented.

Then theres the Beatles "Day in The Life" which had that chaotic build of layered concaphony and screeching horns , building to the final resolving and almost transcendental chord.

The 40s Spike Jones made Classical and Big Band music fun with his more chaotic renditions.

John Cage brought us into the world of experimental, a kind of chaos in itself, of detuned and prepared pianos or scraping strings with metal combs and screws.

Lots can be done with "chaos".

Can someone please give me some advice? Why can I use some songs for the contest but not others, even though they are remixes of the provided remix music?

First, I take the song from Suno that is provided. Then I make a cover. For some songs, the ‘submit remix’ button appears, and for others it doesn’t, even though I still have the original provided cover song selected in the settings. Then I cover my cover songs, and sometimes ‘submit remix’ appears and sometimes it doesn’t. I can only use the ones with ‘submit remix’ for the contest, right?

Well, you can also create something brand new that captures what the New Year means to you. Or if you find someone who has old stuff with the remix option turned on, technically, you can remix/cover it. I have a bunch of old instrumental stuff that has the remix turned on, for instance. Then you can remix it and add your own lyrics.
