I"m adding both a dropdown selection, so you can save settings.ini files with different names and keep them in the root, and load them, or share them with people by simply giving them the settings file...

As well as an Output for Suno button which, when checked, will start recording in 19 second increment wav files so you can upload them to suno.

Sorry had to pause for spaghetti lol but I'll look into it, im thinking of how to make the spiral galaxy work, Colors is in progress with themes, I think them transitioning between colors should be doable.

The planets can actually have an infinite number of moons, so I think the idea of making them a star system is already possible (Though my test of 2000 entities started to lag a bit)

Astroid belts can sorts be done with moons as well,

Though I think for optimization I'll probably have to push this over to opengl (still from a 2D perspective) just so I can fit more entities in there to make this work.

Anyway thanks I'll look into these, free day tomorrow

I mean in a way, from my perspective it feels strange as the actual training data isnt in the AI anymore, and was only used for associative learning information, it shouldnt be able to perfectly duplicate any song, or even approach a well-made cover of a song, rather its only capable of producing things from the associations it made with all that data, which is not different from a human in my mind

#

So any kind of result from this, unless there is a lot of specificity in how they phrase things, could not only impact AI but also impact a human's ability to make music as well

I can not stop thinking about the letter from the artists against music IAs. While they say they are trying to protect music and art, they me are hampering that thousands or millions of potential artists who have not the resources (or the luck) they have, create songs that may be more valuable than the songs that music labels publish. Shouldn't there be a letter from all those anonymous composers asking not to be deprived of the opportunity to make music that Suno provides?

obsidian hare
# stuck ruin I can not stop thinking about the letter from the artists against music IAs. Whi...

And because the training data was used to train associations, and it would be very difficult or actually impossible to reproduce copyrighted works in their entirety, its almost like they are suing the concept of inspired works, which if not carefully worded enough, would impact all living musicians who currently produce any sound, as they will always due to their nature produce sounds they know they enjoy, which would or could have came from a prior inspiration.

Its a scary thing from that perspective, as I have it in my head at the moment

#

The potential solutions to the case I can think of all have downsides for the staff of suno, and they havent been around long enough for tech to advance enough for their advancements to trickle down to the open source machine that cant be stopped

stuck ruin
#

Training from the previous songs is exactly what humans do. A human composer can clone a song they have heard, but can also create new music inspired by that songs. In that regard, Suno is not different. Are music labels going to demand all bands who have a "Depeche Mode" similar sound or have been inspired by them? It would be quite a big sum of money.

#

Technically, I think that maybe it is legal to train IA models using CDs or DVDs. I mean, if you buy some that media before they were banned from being used for training IA models, it may be a legal use.

I used to espouse the same argument. That AI can't directly recreate anything in its' training data.
And then we got the most recent DALL-E update. I've had it directly copy subcomponents of major artpieces in a way that really makes me question whether they're truly stochastic and unable to reproduce their training data, or if that's a matter of having enough training data. For reference, the artwork I saw was a direct copypaste of God from michelangelo's "the Creation of Adam" painting. I had a prompt like "an artistic depiction of God creating the earth" and it literally summoned a 1:1 perfect replica of God from michelangelo's painting, the only difference was that rather than his hand touching adam, it was touching the earth, which was being formed.

certainly as it stands it is nearly impossible to recreate anything in its training data, but I swear I saw studies at least a year old at this point showing stable diffusion could in-fact directly recreate training images.

This is most certainly a result of less training data in specific categories than should be present. A certain combination of words for which each have little in the way of associative training might produce works similar in ways, or even pending how little is there, very close to mirror representations of their training data.

This is a fault of the people categorizing training data, and teams responsible for ensuring enough is present for each area for association, since there is so much, it could hardly be blamed on an individual or group.

So rather than having less training data to feed to resolve this problem, we need more, and even more people, or even AI's, dedicated to solving the tagging problem within giant datasets being fed to models.

The problem with lawsuits of this type is they expunge the solution, by limiting available training data as a brute force immediate reaction to the problem.

This route, assuming AI survives, will actually result in AI made music being made of less and less human data, making human data less relevant in the whole outside of the initial datasets, given that there is enough adjustments to the transformers, and the neural networks, that they become capable of producing new data potentially through a party of mixture of exxperts.

So maybe then we skip straight to AI data feeding AI to make new data, and so humans are relevant to the future of AI, for potentially less time overall than they would have been, at the expense of potentially only briefly slowing progress. I'd be all for it if the lawsuit would result in more training data, and more taggers, and funding and blah blah, but in reality it will just be used to quell the actual needed solution as I understand it

#

Not that anyone available has any power there at all, including myself. While it might be okay to look at a few results and go that looks like copying, we are moving backwards from a solution from my perspective, by trying to halt it entirely as opposed to provide more data to solve the problem of potential one to one recreation of segments

#

Basically the way I look at that problem is, say from birth you were locked in a room, and in that room was a picture of "God", in regards to "God" this is the only picture you will ever see, and no other reference to "God" will ever be given to you. Every day you wake up, and by some method you are instructed that this picture is a picture of "God"...

So when someone asks you to draw "God" the first thing that pops into your mind is that picture.

That might be a bad representation of the issue, but its how I understand it more or less

#

But to keep going on that from a human perspective right, we can look at that picture and see a bunch of concepts put together, a beard maybe, the type of dress, and then imagine a million different versions of that image rapidly until we change the picture into a concept.

This is also what would be happening from the perspective of an AI feeding itself AI made data. Eventually, the AI will feed itself enough concepts to again be able to reproduce the image though..

#

I'm rambling now lol so I'll go back to my show

Yes and sort of but it doesnt feel completely appropriate. In this case, its more like the AI "learnt" that "God" meant "x image" and not "x concept" so since it operates based on what first popped into its head it pops out "x image" when it should be popping out "x mixture of learnt concepts" learned from having a huge dataset like someone in the Chinese room might possess... Or like Alice in the black and white room from Ex Machina the concept of knowing something without experiencing it, but what it knows was wrong and full of incorrect data, or such a small amount of data that "Color" became an image instead of what color was supposed to be, like being stuffed full of censorship information and responses to "Align" it..

#

idk I'm very tired its midnight for me

#

I've been trying to get myself through the thought experiment of author vs character in the case of AI. Where much like a human where tears may well from nowhere, an AI author of a character that can cry, the AI is the body welling up the tears in context, but in that case the character understands and has properly analyzed the context for their tears, so then what differentiates the character, and not the author, or the AI, from a P-Zombie, otherwise known as all other humans but yourself.

#

Especially when their context is reality-based, so the work the character exists within outside of hallucinations is one completely formed of non-fiction.

#

The AI has flaws you see through their characters, but given enough memory or context, at what stage do you stop ignoring the characters responses to reality

I've compressed things a bit, now instead of the AI choosing where to go, python does. The AI comes up with the story of how it fulfilled whatever need or thought that came up that drove it to go to that predetermined place

Some people "play the game" and spend their whole day begging for plays, but while it's nice to get a dopamine rush from that, I find it only makes me more sad in the long run when I view "how 'liked' I am" based on numbers like followers, plays, friends-- if you really care about something, your work will speak for itself!

(ie. Some people try very hard to get lots of plays by asking others to listen to their work all day. It feels good to get many plays, but it can also make you sad later when you see your numbers like followers and plays. If you really care about your work, let it speak for itself. Don't worry too much about numbers. :))

I edited my previous comment to try to rephrase -- hopefully it's more clear.

Another way to look at it, there are 350k+ members all using the same tools to make a song, and everyone believes their song is special (and they are, especially sometimes if you know the story behind why the user made that song), but you make your song special not just through what Suno makes, but in why you do what you do.

#

I guarantee you that you'd be able to tell the difference.

It's my opinion that a musician wouldn't just see Suno as a tool to "make the song for them", they see it as a collaborative tool to help generate ideas and work as a partner to create something better than either could have made by themselves 🤘

#

I'm sure I don't need to try hard to convince you how much I love Suno 🤣 I played guitar and sang in a band for 10+ years, but I moved away 8 years ago and haven't found anyone else to play with. Over time I sort of stopped playing music because it wasn't as easy to fly across the country for a quick "jam".

Suno lets me work on songs bit by bit to create the kind of songs that I wish we could have played all those years ago 🥹

#

My old bandmates are excited and proud that I'm creating music again after "being quiet" for so long. 😄

And equally exciting to me is being able to use my songs with tools like Audicity + OpenVino that don't need a lot of training to start using-- whenever my band would record music, I never had the opportunity to "mix and master" the songs, but Suno has made EVERYTHING available to me from start (thinking "I want a song that makes me feel like I'm on my first date again") to finish (releasing a radio-quality song on Apple Music).

I'll stop rambling now, but I'm happy to have a bunch of goofballs like me to share how excited I am about it ❤️

Not really sure where to put this so I'm putting it here.

I got the bright idea to start rooting around for anything I may have written when I was younger. I used to think I'd be a poet and occasionally tried to write lyrics to music I could hear in my head. I found some stuff from well over twenty years ago (as well as some embarrassing poetry I probably thought was deep back when...)

But I also found two completed lyrics that I'd written and attempted to make them happen...

I tried reusing the prompt without any edits, and I'd wager that one of the tracks had like... a slight resemblance?

I think I'd still rather reserve any opinions until I have much more information presented to me-- though I was with furrybeans last night when they said something along the lines of"prompt for something >> get that result?" , but I suppose that leads back to "how do they know what the waveform of the producer tag sounds like".

There's still room for reasonable doubt in my mind, because it makes sense that an aspiring producer would try to get their name & tag EVERYWHERE, spamming all of the places they could possibly upload their content -- some of which might have surreptitiously shared their content as training data while giving the impression that they had sourced legit material with consent; in such a case, sure, arguments still could be made about whether you trust the source of your training data, but that's a whole other conversation.

The thing is, it really doesn't matter all that much.

The lawsuit is that Suno is using music to train their AI with. That is the allegation.

The fact of the matter is that everyone listening to music is guilty of being "trained" by what they hear. This is still just a hallucination and doesn't really mean anything. Unless the argument of the Music and Film Industry Association of America is that no one can learn anything, it doesn't matter.

pliant osprey

"There has grown up in the minds of certain groups in this country the notion that because a man or corporation has made a profit out of the public for a number of years, the government and the courts are charged with the duty of guaranteeing such profit in the future, even in the face of changing circumstances and contrary to public interest. This strange doctrine is not supported by statute nor common law. Neither individuals nor corporations have any right to come into court and ask that the clock of history be stopped, or turned back."

Not as far as I'm aware.

Someone mentioned about the Rabbit r1 having this functionality earlier. I don't know the technical details of how exactly it works but from the details I've read, it supposedly would've "learned" how to use the website. If that's the case I would expect it to log in by interacting with the Suno login page, from your own IP address.

But I could be totally wrong about how that works. I'd be cautious.

Hiya, security researcher here. Just chiming in to confirm how @still yarrow stated it, is correct.

Rabbit has their users login on chrome running over a noVNC session from their portal. After logging in, their code dumps all cookies and saves them to Piiano.

When they perform a task on behalf of the user, they load these cookies back into another container running chrome in their infrastructure, and use playwright to click through it.

During our last tests, all login requests came via a single IP address (presumably a central http proxy they may have been using to blacklist URLs in the login VNCs). It's not known if other requests come from that IP, or just a general IP in AWS' EC2 range

Those of you doing more than just spamming your songs in discord channels hoping someone will stop and listen… What are you doing to promote your music? What has worked well and what hasn’t? #🐣┃suno-showcase is a f4f like4like sh!t show and I don’t have time to post every song I make in there 20 times a day hoping 1 or 2 people see it before it gets catapulted to the backlog by 50 more posts. # fervent crown tl;dr I’m looking for methods of sharing songs that are more likely to get them ...

I agree that suno-showcase becomes a madhouse-- I desperately wish it was limited to 1 post every day, because people would think hard about deciding what song they want to promote, and they'd have a much more thoughtful description of what the song means to them or why you should listen (instead of just "check out my latest banger!").

tbf, incentivizing people to create trending songs for cash last month probably exacerbated existing social media addiction for some, creating a wild feedback loop of constantly generating new content and posting, but I digress.

I think the hardest part is trying to make sure that you're advertising your songs to people who are interested and WANT to listen-- engaging in smaller communities that focus on styles that are relevant to you (like the song contests, some of the collaborative groups I've seen, etc) so your voice isn't drowned out, making your songs easily accessible for those who want to listen without you having to post the links all the time (not an advertisement, but look how I try to make use of my discord "profile"), just examples that I've used ❤️

You make a lot of good points. Maybe a solution would be to make a bunch more share channels. Even a greater number of share anything channels would be enough to reduce the volume. You’d still have some people spamming all of them with the same song but not all. A more curated approach would be even better. Separate the share channels out by genre and have community reporting on posts that shouldn’t be in a channel to prevent spam.. maybe?

# fervent crown I haven’t been here long enough to know what the /chirp stuff is/means lol

I'm just being cheeky 😛 -- before Suno, you used to make music by putting that command in discord, but it's been shut down for a bit. If you pay attention to it, you'll notice that every possible location that people can post will eventually start getting those commands, followed by the Woodhouse bot telling them it doesn't work -- often directly followed yet again by another chirp request. If it doesn't work in one channel, they just try again somewhere else.

Jokes aside, I don't think it's a bad idea at all -- 3Daizy sort of already implemented that same idea with https://discord.com/channels/1069381916492562582/1154790975240155247, but not enough people care enough about looking that far into it and just want to share it where it'll get seen the most (personal assumption)

The AI can choose whether to respond to user messages, and how to respond based on how long its been since the last time the user sent a message. All histories are integrated with eachother. Thoughts every 15 seconds, actions every 15-45 seconds based on needs and actions taken, "fulfilling a need" leaves a whole story about how it did that in action history, which integrates back with chat history and thought history so they all can work off of eachother

#

So if the AI is eating lasagna it doesnt respond, and it can think about how good the lasagna is/was, which goes into its history for the next time it decides to respond, if ever, because its not random, the LLM is deciding

Unfortunately my experience stops at FL Studio more or less. I've seen similar stuff on Youtube for Ableton or maybe even standalone software though.

~3 steps to audio separation, provided you have compatible hardware (so angry that it uses Intel architecture so I can't use my RTX card, but I can still use my AMD cpu which is a little slower, but still).

UVR is great, but I prefer having something built directly into my DAW so I don't have to import the songs afterward (I'm lazy) (well, that and OpenVino gives pretty decent results)

#

Actually, it's a bigger thing that I thought -- looks like a whole AI system, and the website references their API, so there very well might be OpenVino plugins for whatever other DAW you're using ❤️

Totally agree. Prompting is just turd polishing, and there's nothing valuable or interesting there for an artist beyond a 10 second novelty. The fully produced tracks of suno or udio smothers one's voice because they leave nothing for an artist to do but adjust some basic parameters of a mix, then curate yet another album for sale on bandcamp. So I am interested in finding others who transcend this nonsense and actually use suno/udio in service of their voice rather than a substitute for it.

I must have one of the biggest Suno libraries, well over 1000 pages, and the vast majority of my Suno time is "song prompting as puzzle", like, "Is it possible to do X". Or curiosity "what on earth would this prompt do...". Not all of it, sometimes I hear something and do just want to build out a song in a straightforward way. But even many of those songs started as a puzzle.

sooo, I did it, bought the SpectraLayers 11 Pro. Wow, I'm looooving it.

Saxophone loop in wav as an example. One picture one, you can only see one wavelength and that's it. The second picture shows the same wav file in layers, so I can see tonal, transient and noise wavelenghts, and edit all of them individually.

#

regular singular wavelenght of a sax loop .wav

#

vs the same sax loop .wav with Spectralayers

#

meaning that I can actually smooth out the bad sound quality, noise etc and master/mix created by Suno sometimes

I heard about the lawsuit; as a paid user and a big believer in what Suno is doing, how can we, the users, help support Suno? If you need user testimony or support in any way, count me in, I don't want to see the big music guys take you down because they are afraid of losing their stranglehold on the musical industry. I love what you are doing. It gives people like me who love to write lyrics but don't have the music training to write the music a chance to make music. I have thirteen releases on to the open market so far with more planned so keep going Suno!

...I'm getting overwhelmed with the amount of 'new toys' I have to play with, but this seems too cool to write off as "outside my skill level" -- I'm planning on looking into spectral analysis to get a better understanding (I think there's even a basic version of it built into audacity?), but do you have a youtube recommendation or something that you feel really shows what's capable with it?

Just from the picture they showed, seeing 'guitar' listed separately from 'other instruments' gives me hope that vocals might be more cleanly separated, as sometimes background ambient noises can phase between the 'other instruments' and 'vocals' in Audacity/OV. 😮‍💨

My ears perked up when they mentioned being able to clean individual layers -- anything other than zooming 1500% into audacity to manually move sample-dots sounds like a dream. 😛

When you have created songs with suno under a paid plan, the song is yours. I am Dutch myself, so not sure about the USA laws, but should be able to registrate your songs yes.

I’m a new suno user, and I have some questions… suno doesn’t have access for comments right? And we can’t download other users’ songs?

Also, iZotope has Audiolens VST, which works in a way that you press record button and play the song on Spotify and then it creates a reference mastering present for you to help you get similar sound out of your whatever it is you're mastering. So let's say you wanna create a bass or synth or drums similar to Chris Malinchak, then you download his song, upload it to Spectralayers, you can just mute everything else and just play the sound. And it creates a mastering present that makes that sound similar to it for Elements or Ozone

based on my own tests regarding the producer tags, i'm not overlty optimistic. for me, its nice if v4 comes out before final decisions, what ever it is. it will probably take at least a year, more if it goes to supreme court or something due to having significant impact on entire AI industry

#

very good question indeed is, if the court says that suno is illegal, what will it then mean for distrokid and us who have published "iilegally" trained songs

#

will distro come after me

prolly deletes everything immediately alteast

#

well, sporify and netflix came up with legal licencing plans (fair is another issue entirely due to licencing agreements being between big corpos) after they took down illegal ones

#

so in same spirit, there could be licensed music trained based after sunos and udios

But it's already out there and fighting it is like fighting a windmill

light bulbs didn't to my recollection play dj khlaed producer tags when lit, so not really comparable, as thats more replacing entirely

limpid violet

I think a lot of people jump to the immediate assumption that a producer tag means that the training data contains unlicensed copyright material because they already thought that & this is confirmation bias.

It makes sense to me that the amateur producer would put his content EVERYWHERE, perhaps even making it available on websites that have a disclaimer that the content might be used, repurposed, such and such yadda yadda blah blah without compensation in perpetuity, and so on.

Kinda silly when people ask in the discord what's going to happen, as if the devs are going to break word on their legal defense to let user#256423 know how they plan to outwit the prosecution.

If I were Suno and that were the case, I'd rather share that information only when legally required to do so, hoping that the prosecutors failed to research further and confirm with the "paper trail", but yeah, speculative court fiction until things happen.

Ratings are visible to everyone -- if you give your song a thumbs up, others will see this as well.

A single rating isn't enough to "tip the scale", so feel free to give your songs thumbs up & down without worry. I use Thumbs Up as a quick way to go back to extensions that I might use
