Yea, it's a significant change, it obvious the gen quality is improved, but I have to throw out all my prompts

It's a place you can use a lot of models

their particular API access call to Claude Sonnet appears to be less censored

the default is VERY challenging to get to work with anything remotely not-PG

But that prompt gets it pretty focused on task, and it will essentially just create an ideal BREAK prompt. Throw it into A1111 and compare it to the original you fed it and you'll be wowed.

You can also crank the CFG higher than you normally would, and in turn, you can go above normal resolutions

for SDXL

without using any extra tools, it'll just do it, and in less steps

you're just getting a more accurate vector

I am a premium user and have generated hundreds of songs here, but I have to say, Udio is next level, the songs are cleaner, more imaginative and varied, adhere closer to prompts, constantly surprise with musical adventure - I hope Sunos V4 sorts out the problems of fuzzyness, choir vocals, missed lyrics etc

Distrokid has a free service (it will nag you to upgrade) called DistroLock.com. Uploading to DistroLock, registers your song with a couple of services that should block and alert other uploads. Yeah I’ve had some artifacts with certain styles on Udio too. But overall it seems to be slightly less muddy in most cases. One main difference I noticed is that Udio tends to be a bit more raw and “live performance” sounding vs. Suno being a bit more like a studio version, which tends to be more of what people want but makes it harder to experiment with

I have a couple of questions concerning the new upcoming feature which will allow us to use our own audio input as baseline, which up to this moment seems to be able to be anything audio we feed Suno in the future.

So we could use either:

• Nature sounds / City sounds etc.
• Own voice recordings (Humming/Singing/Beatbox)
• Prerecorded own music tracks.

This all sounds great and i love it, but here is a big big question i have and that is:

How will Suno be able to handle input of audio samples from songs that are under copyright?

How close is the there from generated audio to the source and will the source always stay connected to the created audio from suno (on the website - linked - identifiable) so that people can be aware of the source if they chose to use another users creation as their baseline for their own.

I for sure will stay far away from copyrighted music as my input but i can see it happening a ton and kinda feel its a no brainer for it to happen a lot.

It looks like a really useful feature, not only for people who want to experiment with their own existing songs but for those who might not have any music equipment at all or just to tinker with different sounds to see what they result in.

An interesting possibility will be to extend music generated by another AI music generation service (Udio being an obvious one, but I have a bunch of older stuff from Riffusion I'd like to expand upon too.)

There is no doubt that people will stuff copyrighted music into it. If Suno make the original source audio available to all, the danger there is that they could end up making copyrighted audio available for other users to listen to. So I'm not sure whether that's a good idea - it's safer (for Suno) to only make the generated audio available. If one user generates off of a copyrighted song, and another extends from that, it'd likely end up being further from the original so possibly less of an issue?

I guess a compromise would be to indicate which songs originated from an audio clip, and maybe allow just a few seconds of that clip to be heard so people can get an idea of what the song was derived from.

Some kind of Shazam-like thing being applied to uploaded audio might help block copyrighted songs.

I know I can use an AI to replace Suno's vocals but for the kind of stuff I play around with it's mostly hallucinated words which just lose their charm when put through an AI vocal replacer. @frank panther other 2 are Udio (obviously) and.... Riffusion. Which sounded awful originally but I got something interesting from it and when they relaunched with 12 sec clips I got some inspiring snippets.

I posted this a while ago. It was a couple of days after using the newer Riffusion that I made this, and when I heard it, it made me laugh so much

The problem was that I'd start getting some good sounding things, they'd be totally in mono but I'd want to hear what happens after 12 seconds. They never allowed extensions.

I think they might be taking things in a different direction with their next update, unsure if it's going to be aiming to compete in the same way but I'm eagerly awaiting beta access.

Using extend feature feels like I am summoning voices of hell as a price to get variations of the same song. It starts with the creepiest whispers before it resumes extending the songs

Assuming you are taking about Suno: Try changing the start time by a second or two to see if it gets rid of the whisper if it bothers you.

The issue is that the AI does not remember the original style used. What it does, for each extension, is study the style ~1 min (unsure if this got extended to 2 min for v3.5) prior to the continuation point to learn/mimic the styling you had (which is why extensions in v3.0 are 1 min long as the other min was reserved for studying).

So if you had a loudness or degradation issue within that minute, it would start becoming emphasized as that is what the AI picked up on and all future extends builds up the issue as long as it exists within the 1 min of continuing.

It also explains why the style can change when you vary the starting point by a few seconds

Quite a few years ago, I wanted computer games to have high quality graphics and sound, but everything was low-resolution. Characters in 3D games had heads that were just a pointy blob and their faces were just pictures applied to the shape. Detailed lighting, shadows and reflections? Forget it.

Modern graphics hardware exists. Game development has evolved. We now have games that can have cinematic soundtracks, good audio design, realistic environments and even complex physics.

Music generating AI has not been around for long. I want it to be perfect, to be able to give me the best sound quality, separate parts/stems would be amazing for me as that's mainly what I want to work with. I doubt anyone is holding these things back intentionally, given how many people ask for it. These things will be possible eventually, I'm sure.

I'm using it and quite like it. I tend to use both that and Suno, for different things. Basically when I get a sound I like in either, I continue extending it. If you just try copying prompts from one service to the other expecting the same kind of output it's probably going to be disappointing.

Udio seems good for acoustic instruments and vocals, Suno seems good at percussion, electronic instruments and overall arrangement. That's from my fairly narrow testing where I've been developing some vocals that just sing "ahhhhhhhh" on Udio, with string instruments/orchestra basically.

(percussion and gritty or sharp sounds tend to be watered down a bit in Udio, whereas Suno does good at making things gritty and sharp)

Takes a while to get familiar with it's capabilities. Admittedly a lot of what it gives me, I don't use. So a lot of waiting and then disappointment with 33s of music you don't want until that one result is just right.

It also does "weird" stuff really well. I have some crazy laughter and screaming, some kind of balloon deflation squeaks etc.

As I'm not making songs with any normal lyrics there I haven't properly tested that, just enjoy the voices saying "ahhh" is enough to have me interested in it. 😆

Sort of. There's a "manual mode" in Udio that gives you direct control of the prompt (which is like how Suno is in custom mode as far as I'm aware) otherwise Udio rewrites it to try to spice it up a bit with variation. It's a totally different model so it will respond differently but obviously things like specifying genre and types of instrument should have similar influence.

For people like me who experiment with different genres it's a case of figuring out the strengths and weaknesses and then using the right tool for the job.

Awwww we have four mommas and babies on our property this year. I think we must live south of you, our first litter came out about three weeks ago. I was so scared yesterday, one of the mommas was whoodling around looking for her two babies at dawn, and stayed up on the roof of the shed watching the gate all day. I don’t know where they were but they finally came home!

Gosh that’s terrifying! We don’t have eagles here but we have a pair of barred owls. However I think all but the tiniest ones are too heavy for them.

I expected this would be coming, after they added the trimming and inpainting. It'll be interesting to see how each compares in terms of capability and results.

This opens up the interesting possibility of being able to use both services to work on the same song (feed output from one into the other.) I expect a lot of external editing/glueing will be needed to get the best results though.

I have tried to like Udio but the model really isn't that good, so being able to upload audio isn't going to be as helpful as it will be with Suno

it's this. they need a new model. The composition leaves a lot to be desired. If you want very generic sounding music though it's great!

I do like some of the stuff it generates, when it gives something good it's really good, but it takes a lot of time to get to that point (I've been periodically going back to one particular thing and exploring it some more, but I haven't made a complete song yet - I'm getting samples from it mainly.)

Udio rolled it out first so I’d assume they were working on it longer unless they have a much larger team. In general they’re much more persistent with updates

i believe the persistance with the updates is because its a very new platform, suno is older so its quite more entablished, udio is early work in progress

but yeah they did complete quite well so far, although their sound outputs doesnt match suno s structure and how natural it sounds

man that sucks... also MJ was one of the best worst concerts I went to when I was a kid. He was scheduled for 10 but didn't come on stage until almost midnight... and then I got scared when they did thriller because he put on the cat mask and came into the aisles. I was like "don't eat me!" and hid behind my mom

i saw the concert in Luxembourg in europe. we after had to take the stage down - it was a green field but the rain turned it into a complete muddy swampy ground. i got some cool stories about how a driver almost knocked the center mast down :D. but hey - its all good memories. i liked working those jobs cause you could experience lots of bands you might otherwise would have needed to pay to see but man it was a real intense job.
