So my mom has Celiac disease, which basically means her "grabbers" for food in her gut are smaller than they should be, so she doesn't get the same nutrition as someone else. (it's more complicated but thats a basic view). She's had multiple weird issues that couldn't even get resolved because they couldn't identify the problem. She started experiencing weird nerve problems, like face twitching, muscles going tense, etc. Neurology was stumped. Finally, she runs into a gastro person for a different issue who was like "Well your gut is responsible for all those things", which lead to her discovering the Celiac.
