It is a beginner's imitation of words – invoking genre tropes – without understanding the culture or themes or POV that spawned the original songs.

It's not that deep really... it's just people trying out something new and not yet developed a nuance about what they want to say.

Meanwhile when Lana Del Rey released her 1st couple albums people were freaking out because her songs were from a POV and she understood Southern Gothic and re-contextualizing Lolita tropes from the 'wrong' pov....

I had endless debates with people where I had to explain that Johnny Cash never actually went to prison, and Axl Rose didn't actually kill his girlfriend, they were just songs.

I look at it this way...I'm motivated by the music to learn how to do some seriously cool stuff with AI now. I generate images with AI, I make them into video with AI, and I edit the results together with my AI generated music.

I may not be able to draw like I'd like. Or play an instrument like I'd like. Or be a big hotshot animator or director. But I am learning how to edit video. That's kind of cool. And I should hopefully be able to use that with other stuff as things go on. Skills are skills no matter how you end up learning them.

And I am actually writing lyrics again. Even if you abstract the music as generated, the lyrics are still mine when I do it. So still a win.

True, I could put every single one of my MJ's directly to redbubble with no work whatsoever and be yet another of the stores that clearly does that without even making the 10second of effort lining them up on the products. It's not on purpose, the moderation is handled by AI itself, it's not a bunch of specific rules trying to block songs with video game lore or anything. People make so many songs so fast, it's the only practical way to do it. Basically, it's just not very smart right now and there isn't even really a way to just 'fix this song' because the AI is giving an overall opinion, it's not a bunch of rules. A few words can confuse it, sometimes really silly words. You can usually find a small tweak that works with enough time. Hopefully the moderating AI gets smarter over time...

Unfortunately, changing lyrics while retaining the exact same melody isn't consistently possible in Suno. The AI generates the melody based on the combination of lyrics and style inputs, so any change in lyrics may result in a different melody.

Describe the artist's genre, the way they play their instruments and the way they sing. Use a GPT to get a detailed description if you have access to one. Have the GPT break down the sound of a song you like by the artist. Have it describe the playing styles of the song. Use a tool like Sonoteller.ai to detect the vocal range of the singer in the song, the instruments. You can get close and then fill in the details yourself to make it your own original song in the style.

Suno is for original music though so you won't get an exact clone. You can hope for someone who lives in the same neighborhood though.

If anyone wants some terrible terrible song lyrics, hit me with a song, artist, and at least one verse of lyrics to get it going. Toy model just made for testing but even though it makes no sense (no pretraining so it doesn't understand human language) the lyrics do have a sense of rhythm at least, and the RNG vibe can kind of work in a song.

Yeah. Well like I said it turned out my issue was all about the clips I was using. Those were where things broke in the merge. Somehow.

As is I may have to just suck it up and use a different tool for the lip syncs.

you know what i do? i do screen recording, add b roll, then voice recording separately. then in my free to use clipchamp i layer them manually

and thats not time consuming actually. just 4 mins, cutting some half a second pause here and there

after i get the sync i add text

next level is to add sound effects

I make a bunch of scene images, then I use an image to video to convert those into videos and then after making a bunch of those I try to tie them together in a video editor. I use iMovie for that.

I've done alright for the most part but I've gotten bitten by a bug to get my characters in the videos to lipsync without cheating too much.
