Correct. Personas and covers use a bit of their time limit to fit in the needed seed-space , the code from the original song, to help them emulate what we're trying to sound like in the new song.

A work around if length is more of a priority, is to crop your original first and make a persona from that, then using that "person-cropped" version for your next song. A crop around 1 minute seems to be optimal for getting most of the styles and characteristics of your original [into your persona] and still allow for the next song to reach up to 4 minutes , with random end times.

For better reproduction and quality, you will want to look into is a "Vocal Cloning" or "Vocal Swapping" services, where you can replace the singer Suno has made with your own voice.

Usually the repetition is due to poor song structure. Sing it out loud, does the lyrics flow well?

If it does then the issue may be that it is rather short and the AI repeats to make it longer. In those cases, add some [instrumental interlude], [guitar shred], [furious piano banging] noises, etc. To help take up time so it does not repeat it... or that is what I used to do

Isn't extend only for 30 secs max (meaning you can only select up to 30 secs max) and it may increase to 2 mins if it decides to? Did you make sure the extend part is selected (like the white selected rectangle in your screenshot) & is a minimum of 10 secs?

I didn't know it was for 30 seconds max, but this wasn't my first try. I first tried to fix it in the bridge, but maybe it wasn't a minimum of 10 seconds. I'll try again and see if it works if I take it of a minimum - and yes, the extended part was the white - it was selected, and it was moved back and forth to try, but all of them just jumped and started from 50 seconds

No, the extend will do a max of 2 mins, however that screenshot of yours is the replace section. If you simply want to extend from a point then you don't go to the edit section, you do that in the create screen & simply choose extend & you can pick where you want to extend from.

You could use extend & choose before those words (lyrics) & edit those words so they are pronounced as you want. Especially English as it's a colourful language where a word like bow can be pronounced many ways (although I can only think of 2 - lol), so spelling it phonetically how you want it is best. But replace section is best if you are happy with the song as it is & just want to replace certain section. The extend feature is far better now than it was, I used to hate using it as it hardly ever worked as wanted. More reliable now.

I would imagine with any language the more you get used to how Suno will pronounce certain words and how even different singers, styles will pronounce certain words different will mean it will get easier. Also, if you find words may be a problem before even generating, then try to spell them as they would sound. The advantge that even if they look strange on the lyrics & the video they will sound correct - or at least closer to what is wanted. And you can always edit the lyrics afterwards to their correct spelling & then regenerate the video - although that last feature is only in the subscribed versions.

Extensions only adds additional output to the end of a point you choose.

You would not "select" a frame of seconds, but merely choose [or type in] the timemark to start the extension.

Check again to make sure you don't have "Replace" tab selected which is what you are instead describing.

So, the extend feature is selected via the create page & the three dots next to the song you want to extend are selected & you get a drop down menu where 'create' is & you selected that and you get another dropdown here 'extend' is. When you select it you then get extend highlighted at the side & a waveform & you then put in where you want to extend from. It will automatically be from the end of the song - unless extend was used for another song & extend will be from where that song was - unless you refreshed the page & I think it then resets to the end of the song again. It used to also default to the end of the song. So always make sure the time is correct & do not automatically assume it is the end of the song or a part you assume it will be.

Another way of saying.... covering a whole song tends to sacrifice/shorten the time limit if thats important. So less is "more". I've found 1 minute crops balances melody and motif to remain while singing any new lyrics you might be adding as well and helps take it out to 4 minutes, or at least not abruptly stop and 3:12 or whichever is it's choice.

The AI will have a lot of patterns associated with "drums" but, either little or very diverse, entries for "no"

Yes, kinda. For efficiency, the terms associated with the categories it learned (e.g. components of the sing, mood, style, etc.) are tokenized, essentially split into smaller parts, for quick lookups.

Theoretically, you could spend time making weird music/genres by taking different tokenized components and piecing it together (link to OpenAI tokenizer is in the earlier reply).

This is why [x]core works with giving fast tempo songs because, when being tokenized, it usually splits it as "[x]" and "core", and the -core would have various fast paced patterns associated with it from genres like nightcore, breakcore, nintendocore, etc.

I know there is an extend feature. from my experience, if i want to just add on to the end of the song (maybe it didn't have an ending and just cut off at the 4 min mark), the extend feature instead of just extending, actually replaces the song from where i told it to start, and usually the new ending has a different vibe/melody from the rest of the song. Is there an 'extend' that can just look at the whole song and continue where it left off without changing the context that i pass it (it seems like the extend feature currently just looks at what you pass it (starting from x:00) and continues kind of what it picks up from that. Is there something I am missing or missunderstanding?

Is there any prompt to force lyrical update?

My description was inaccurate to say there is just a slide bar. You're right to say there is a bracket, a time-frame, a "box". But as it is, only the left bar can slide as the right bar of the box in extend stays permanently at the end of an output. There is no limit to where you can extend from. We can extend from 00:01 and wipe out everything basically. No 30 sec limit or anything like that.

If you have a 5 minute song, and extend from 1 minute, it wipes out everything and gives UP to 2 minutes of new material (including any new lyrics you might add.)

I'm always using the word "extend" and "adding" not "replace" , but yes, you're wiping out everything right of the line and putting some new lyrics in its place.

But you're right. It should NOT re-position itself to 50 seconds once you click "Generate Extension".

If not done yet, click the Match Lyrics to Audio [under the menu top left in Edit UI] and play audio to follow, making sure the cursor is following along as well as the highlighted [violet] "karaoke"d words. If all looks good , click, Confirm and Align lyrics, and try Extend again.

If it repeats the issues, definitely report as a bug.

No. The tools are supposed to work as intended. Covers, for instance, are designed to mostly use the same lyrics.... however.... Suno does note that we can experiment to replace and edit the lyrics while using the Covers tool. But "force" it? There's no prompt to "force" the lyrics to be sung. If its part of the tools job to add or replace lyrics, nothing more should enforce it to do it's job.

The "Replace" tool is the major tool to exchange one set of lyrics for another. I have continued to read the replacement has its challenges since the new UI (Edit user interface), but that's the main tool to post replace lyrics.

We can create the song in segments, such as just do a verse at a time, using extend (or extension) and add lyrics one at time to build the song. Or if needed, start over with an output by extending from whatever initial parts we want to keep and hope we get a better use of our added lyrics.

Ahhhh..... Covers is good for that, but not perfect. We can't KEEP a melody and add lyrics over the melody perfectly. The syllables in the lyrics may never overlay on top of already existing instrumental.

There are ways to get closer to have a nice song with perhaps something similar in the instrumental, but overlaying words directly on top of an instrumental can't be done well in Suno, nor in real life in a DAW. Even the cute auto-tuning tricks need the words first against a chord progression to create the melody.

Try dividing out the instrumental of the old song. To clean it up, do a cover of the instrumental first. Then you do another cover of the instrumental with the new lyrics. That will try to maintain the motif and hopefully some of the original melody but not bring back the old lyrics.

First of all – congratulations. I’ve tested the PRO version of Suno and I have to say: it’s insanely good. However, for professional musicians working with DAWs, it’s not quite there yet.

As someone who produces music using Cubase and Ableton Live (and started back in the days of the C64 with Steinberg), I’d love to see Suno take a leap into real studio environments. Here's what would make it truly game-changing:

Let us define the time signature – at least common ones like 2/4, 4/4, 3/4, 6/8, and 12/8.

Output all generated results as stems and a MIDI track.

Allow text edits without regenerating the entire music.

Let us upload a song and request guitar licks or solos to be added based on that audio.

Please provide high-res WAV export instead of just MP3. MP3s are useless in studio work. I’d gladly pay extra for that.

Right now, I use Suno more like I used to use Band-in-a-Box – just to spark ideas. But imagine what would be possible if it was truly programmable and could process audio input directly. That would be a game changer for many of us in professional music production.

Don't forget, but Covers and Remastering make attempts, it seems, to make similar the vocals heard in the beginning to those found throughout the rest -- Covers especially. No guarantee, of course, but good to throw one in to see if it helps.

It can make a difference. In that light, you can also Get Whole song, THEN Cover that Full Song first to keep the vocals homogeneous, THEN extend, and rinse and repeat...

Yes you may end up a bit funky from what you started with as Covering could switch tracks in you. But up to you to gen a few to get back on track before the next extend.

It's one of those things you would think wouldn't make as much difference as it does but it can really help in situations like this.

Just use it sparingly. I've had times when I went too many times in a row from the get whole song and this made it just repeat itself. It's one of those things you have to test various options with and see what works for you. It's a feel thing.

in the worst cases of extend not making changes you want, the most extreme approach that can work, is using extends only intended for 2 to 5 seconds only if they exhibit a minuscule change in the direction of what you want in the faintest way, do that over and over, with only one line of lyrics and if it's a style change only the new aspect, and the song will build up momentum where it is ready to continue after that line. it may be my imagination but it seems like doing that will divorce the extends of context from earlier, and stopping to get whole song before continuing allows the original context to be folded into the piece's momentum

If hacking is your forte, don't forget you can chainsaw any vocals out you don't like (cut out/remove) and have a mish-mash of remaining segments. Try to cover that. Results can be interesting or trash. But burn to learn sometimes.

I must admit I have never used extend in the edit section. I simply select extend where it how it used to be originally from the create section drop down menus & on the create page it now gives you the waveform. All i know is that extend feature does work & you simply choose whe nto start from in your song. The problems wit hthe edit feature are well known & although all the additional features for the subscribed are still beta form, the edit features can be a problem. For instance when I use crop or fade out it brings up the refresh page message nearly every time. and sometimes it just goes back to the create page & you then have to refresh that to even find the cropped or fade out song because it isn't there. This is all on the desktop PC one which I use, I have never used mobile or another operating system type.

I suppose if the edit one when working well does allow a full screen where you can see you lyrics. When editing the lyrics on the create page you are presenting with a very small area which is ok when you get used to it, however copy, cutting & pasting does mean you have to take care - especially on longer lyrics & maybe where there are duplicate sections where you could cut out the wrong section. But it is good to have both, obviously they will need to get the edit section working properly.

Having an edit section will mean the create page is easier to use, as it could well get very difficult when it is cluttered. It is already harder to navigate than it was, albeit everything seems to work but more features mean more chance of it not genning what you wanted because you might have left something in an edit feature. An example is the song title, it will stay as you left it & is at the top & not next to the other things you naturally go to like the song style section & personas etc - this is where it was originally. Not a huge problem as if you forgot to change the title of the song you can edit the song & regen the video, or if you are extending the song you can just edit the song title then & the longer song will have the correct title.

Hi, can anyone suggest a way to reliably switch male and female voices during the song? I added "male, female" to style instructions and inserted [male], [female], [male voice], [female voice], nothing works. Suno seems to start sometimes from requested voice and then sometimes switch once, but after that it switches male and female randomly among the verses. Making duet is always a challenge... because of the nature of generative AI
There isn't a reliable way to do it. Just luck and patience.
There's also edit tool, that you can edit and change the verse to switch vocal gender.. but it's still not reliable then as well.
Just keep in mind that and work around the limitation. Be patient and ready to spend quite a few credits 🙂

It appeared like 2 model updates ago and once you hear it it's impossible to overhear it every damn song. tracks usually start great but after about a minute the noise slowly kicks in and gets more annoying through the rest of the track. i did an experiment in tempo selection and manipulation and when i had sustained a high rate i decided i wanted to suddenly stop the speed and slow down, the outputs were all getting refunded so i made the changes in style and tagging less extreme. then at some point i realized the refunded gens were two seconds of change in the right direction, the song required somewhere in the ballpark of 20 extends, the majority of which were entirely free

Yes i kinda noticed on other genres i generated, that these overtone noises are alot less likely to happen or even do not at all. I made similar music in February and the Model V4 back then didn't have this issue at all.
However back then the "reverb" noises were a big deal, but it was manageable. I only needed a few hundred Credits to make a decent song that I actually liked.

Maybe I am just too demanding when it comes to the music I create with Suno, but IMO quality is key. I listened to your variation of the song and to me it lacks a proper rhythm and depth.

Keep in mind for all songs, that lyrics play a small part. You'll more likely, for instance, to get a slack key guitar and harmonic male chanting chorus in lyrics for an African mbube song than lyrics for a chanting witch spell.

It seems intuitive, but sometimes we can't figure out why our prompts for a female scream love song arent working like they should and we keep getting a duet pop vocal. Occassionally we have to experiment with rewriting the lyrics.

my understanding is replace. i can tell you little nuances to adjust extends to trick one thing or another and if i were to extrapolate from that i'd say play with the replace window, experimenting having it being a point of silence or in the center of a note or melody, but with the problems you're having that's tough. you have a chance of retaining voices and style making a persona from the original track. it is important to remember suno is not procedurally building from disparate parts, there is no backing track isolated and able to be used as a starting point, just flawed after the fact stem separation

Try to only select the thing you actually want to replace and adjust what you hear in manual replacement; also make sure the lyrics are aligned perfectly, it fails way more often if words are not aligned

sometimes changing the styles can also solve problems there, you can instruct it but output length is not a part of it, i often tell it what i want it to do and that works rather well, for simple replacements of a few words the original prompt should however do, there's a lot of trial and error there and it's hard to explain all the iffiness but you get used to it over time

For those having issues with replace. After burning through 3000 credits I might have found a way around the issue. Here is what I did
Create a persona based off the song you want to do replace
Create brand new song using the persona with all the lyrics including what u wanted to change
Some of the second will be incorrect but now the generate replace works and u can just fix the sections you need.

Sadly, there have already been quite the few nefarious who have already attempted and worse.

As noises go, AI will make the best guess from its training to tokenize the sounds and place them in a best case arrangement of optimal probability. So timing in not quite important as to the initial upload.

In fact, a suggested strategy is just to splice together the best bits of your original song and upload it (as you only have a 2 minute slot) and let Suno decipher and produce an output from that, generally with one providing lyrics to give more of the intended arrangement.

Would it be possible to add an option for paid subscribers to download an uncompressed WAV version of the generated tracks — without any mastering, loudness maximization, or limiting applied?

Right now, the WAV files that we download are already heavily compressed and limited, which means:
• The dynamic range is severely reduced.
• Peak transients are clipped or flattened.
• There’s little to no headroom left for external mastering stages.

This makes it difficult to apply an effective mastering process afterward, because there is almost no space to work dynamically (especially for EQ sculpting, stereo expansion, or multiband dynamics).

Having access to a “raw” unmastered WAV file (at standard mixing levels, e.g., -6 dBFS peak, without heavy compression) would allow professional mastering engineers to enhance the tracks much more accurately, leading to better results on streaming platforms, radio, and professional releases.

It would be an incredible feature for users who want to take their tracks seriously to the next level, while still enjoying the power and creativity of Suno’s generation process.

Pretty sure Suno’s voice training started for security — like spotting commercial artist similarities and checking lyrics — and then it just made sense to spin that into a feature for users.

Now we get isolated vocals and the remaining "karaoke"-styled instrumental. Those two have been beneficial to me, certainly. They could tweak to separate more frequencies if made a priority, but honestly, without a built-in DAW or remix tools, most users would not likely even download them or care.

To do that would also likely raise the membership rates to cover the human-hours involved and persons taken away from working on the core objectives.

As i understand on youtube's guidelines you have to label it as made by ai if both instruments and voice is ai but not if only 1 of them is ai. And if you dont label your video as made by ai youtube says they can retroactively punish my channel.

Also as I understand monetization is only decided on a case basis when I apply and I might have to explain my channel to a real youtube employee before they accept monetization after 500 subs for example.

I ran it myself as well. Yours and my test were no different than what I had previous, which i guess is a good thing.

But early I mentioned Sunos outputs for "acoustic" are poor today, so nothing great can be said for the fidelity. Only that it was a slow to moderate tempo acoustic steel stringed six string guitar sound with a metal fingerpick attack and fingerstyled "new age" vibe.

Just to point out, Covers can sometimes add a change of lyrics, but the "genre", well, the overall motif, it tries to keep consistent in order to fit within the 4 minutes limit. Covers work off of the original as a seed, and in that won't add an interlude , break, instrumental, etc into what's already there. That night be done with Replace tool, but it's only a slight more chance, I think.

Well, I'm just saying "Black Southern Gospel" shouldn't be a stretch. Not that i want you to use "funky gospel" . You may have to split it up like "Black, Southern Gospel" but that could be worse 🫣 as southern gospel these days can be equally a "white" Baptist Country vibe.

Keep in mind there were many Gospel backed up songs throughout the 70s and 80s, and so Suno training may give you anything like Melanie's Lay Down/Candles in the Rain to André Crouch's Soon and Very Soon.

• Did you recently change your cookie settings to block all third party cookies? That would cause that
• Try clearing your cache or use incognito mode and see if you can log in again
• Are you on VPN? Try changing the server if so
• Did you try logging on through another device to your Google account (e.g. official suno app, mail)
• Did logging into another account help?

I downloaded Suno from the App Store and subscribed for one month via Apple Pay. However, when I use Suno, every piece of music keeps singing “fake app.” I’m not sure what’s going on.

There are still fake apps that say Suno, in app stores. First make sure the suno app owner is "Suno Inc"

You have what looks like an Asian user name which may mean you are also in a location which uses a phone service for the iOS that also has a specific "Apple Store" and your apps available are delegated by your service provider. This may create issues which make it harder for Suno to recognize your phones ID. Similar to a firewall. This may trigger the appearance of your app not operating as needed and get a "fake" app error.

This can also happen, for instance, when using a VPN.

Nothing can be done from this channel of members helping members, but you can review your App, turn off any VPN, try any desktop browser, alternate between a cellphone connection or WiFi to see if a difference, and other means. Even try incognito mode and see if anything changes.

Check the payment tiers of the subscription plans. Make sure they are ONLY (for monthly) Basic (free), Pro for $10 USD , and Premier for $30 USD. If anything else, you have a fake app.

Hello Suno team, are you limiting song lengths for free accounts this past week? 70% of the songs are under 1:30, but the majority of that 70% aren’t even over 1 minute. You have no idea how frustrating this is. If this continues, I’ll probably stop using Suno. This seems more like loop creation than song creation. It’s very frustrating. Today’s experience has tested my patience to the limit. All the credits have become garbage, a total waste of time. Not a single song is over 1:40 but majority has been under 1:00 minute. It’s truly discouraging. If this is deliberate, it seems like a completely flawed policy. It only generate frustation. Nothing less than 2:30 could be called a song... but the most logical thing would be to get songs close to the 4 minute limit, sometimes it seems that we are connected to the V1 model... I hope that is not the case... For the rest, congratulations on the good musical work on the models, the fusions sound great in most cases, and with the styles that I love, please do not defraud with vile techniques to get premium accounts, you may lose free users who interact much more than paying users, at least I, listen to, follow, like and comment on many many artists, something that does not seem to be very common from premium users. It's a somewhat general error. Resolve could be anything . Self testing is a good start. The normal clearing cache/cookies, close /open browser. Try another browser.... try wifi instead of phone service or vice versa. But the sub error is a system error which could happen at random times just because Suno does tend to remain in flux as they are constantly updating to provide the best and most current possible.

Yes, I downloaded it from the App Store, and I also tested it on suno.com.
I have always been using the same VPN, and I made all my purchases through official channels, using either a credit card or Apple Pay.
The first two songs I created did not have this issue, but it started happening afterward.

Sadly, the use of a VPN can flag your account and give the appearance of a fake app error. I understand in some Asian countries you can only get access if you go through a VPN. So it's a difficult and limiting situation. It can work for a while, weeks or even months, then you will get flagged by Suno.

I don't know if thats the case. There's no further solution or resolve from this community channel. SUNO asks that everyone fill out the form so that all "fake app" error be directly assisted by support.

Suno MUST be able to ID you. Several times within the desktop version, suno will "re-log" the page, constantly checking your location with its information on file. Using a VPN may then change IP address and get a flag on your account.

"Fake app" issues can be a false-positive because of undetermined IP addresses or just a faulty, poor, or extremely busy internet connection. So this must be cleared directly with Support before the account can be used further, as i understsnd. .

Some locations have a difficult time with log ins, app function and issues with the service providers, in general.

The only resolve that I know is to have Support research and tell you what the issue was.

I hope your issue gets resolved. Keep in mind if you paid, your account might be on an auto-pay service and would need to be monitored by you to resolve this quickly.

I have tested many directions with other users before. There has never been a clear reason why a pass code does not get sent when attempting to log in.

Also, simply make sure you are putting in the proper country code if you are trying to recieve a pass code through using your phone number. Some people forget and then use their phone number but maybe with the USA 🇺🇸 code of +1 instead of their own country code. For example: UK +44

It's is very likely you "Created" an new account accidentaly instead of "Signed in" to your real account. You are signing into your new "Basic" account and will need to switch account login to your original.

Question 1: You could try with extensions or metadata (maybe try some off-beat tags?) but there is no way to "force" to model to do it
Question 2: If your line is longer than what fits in the song format (i.e. all lines have 10 syllables, but this one line is 15) it normally flows over to the next set of beats and fills the remaining beats with some instrumental. To get a nice 'longer' line, try making it exactly double the "normal" amount of syllables of the other lines. Then your lyric most likely will be two bars

But no guarantees here, these are just from my personal experience :)

I've noticed there is always a bit of an issue with the timemarks changing time after setting them. It's seems as if suno is set to snap to a proximate time and quantizes automatically, maybe to help it blend properly when replacing lyrics.

I do watch this, and adapt by re-tweaking the time marks manually , end time first, begin time second, to try to circumvent this. Once it seen to stay without changing, I then click "replace".
