I try to extend a song, same style, add some verses. I expect to extend in the same style, same singer, instruments. But I get completely differnet styles as extension. For example base: rap extension: i dunno rockopera,, Base: rock and extension: country. Why on earth change style? If I would do a cover, that is ok if it will be different style. But for extend, I can't figure it...

Hey gang. Quick question. I’ve just recently discovered Suno and been having a blast with learning its systems. Most of the song lyric ideas I’ve been writing are coming in over 4 minutes (I realize this is a me problem lol). I’ve noticed that subsequent versions of the song creator have been increasing the size of song creation that’s allowed. Do we have any idea if the plan is to eventually allow for longer than 4 minutes?

I'm not aware of such plans.
You can use "extend" to add a new part to the song (up to 2:00 in length, which can then be joined to the first part) and use the remaining lyrics for that.
This is how we used to do it back when songs were 1:20 (or shorter!)

nope... I'm not using extensions until they improve the model. all my stuff is country, rock, or pop... anything longer than 4 minutes is kind of useless to me except absolutely necessary.

Not necessary true that you only use Extend if you want longer than 4 min... sometimes... we could want to extend from any point in the clip just to get a something different in the 2nd part of the song but want to keep the first part... but if the issue wasn't from the extension then what I said did not apply to your scenario 🙂 I hope that happened only a few times and you could still get a generations that you could use.

I'll try extensions in that case. Sometimes it works, sometimes not. I just notice a lot of vocal degradation the more you extend. I mean it's still better than anything else out there, but I have enough credits where I can redo if I don't like, which I do often as my lyrics change when I hear them and render and don't think they feel right.

I don't think there's a specific structure that is correct. Every song has a unique structure. My songs usually have this structure.

Saying that... sounds like Suno did not follow your structure? it happens. I got that a few times too... where it decides to repeat Verse 2 ... before Pre-Chorus... if I like that generation.. I can cut that out and continue with Extensions.. if I don't like the melody or anything, I'll re-gen a new set of clips.. and go from there.

I had some help with a track yesterday, but nothing I have tried has really improved it too much. I'd like to ask for some more input, if I may. The degradation only during the chorus is way too heavy, especially during the last chorus. Here is what I have tried doing: Lots and lots of covers including covers with a persona (why do covers keep the degradation?), using the remove feature, using the extend feature, remastering, remastering with some meta tags. And not an entire genre. The inpainting in Suno is trash. I'm trying to remove a pop artifact that Suno loves to add to songs for no apparent reason and the replace option is the worst. It doesn't fix anything, changes the way the song is sung and the instrumentals. Am I doing it wrong or is it worthless? I'm blowing thru credits trying to fix Suno's constant mistakes.

Yeah, Replace would be the tool to use... while a lot of others have great results, some might find troubles as the tool did not follow the prompt.
Sometimes it might take a few generations to get what you want; but in theory it should be generating the same style and follow the new lyric we try to replace.
For mispronounced words, when replacing it.. you might have also have to change its spelling phonetically.
The tool doesn't work perfectly for everyone, for me, it worked most of the time, but sometimes it did behave like other has reported.

I wonder if i can replace a part that was meant to be a woman but it's a male singer. Any ideas on how to replace it? Whenever i try, Suno just takes parts of other songs i created but never the right one or creates a new one. That's quite hard to understand. I want to change the pre chorus but Suno always adds chorus replacements from other songs.

It's the first time for me to use the desktop version. I created every song in the app. Beforehand i couldn't synchronize the 2 Versions. Now that it has finally worked out, i have a lot of trouble with the replacement center

Not sure that's 100% possible to resolve properly for everyone really. Take someone who write 3000 characters and say "write a 15 second song". How does that work? I could perceived a large majority would get an error, to then say it was broken.

It did seem in January that Suno was good at estimating a song length based on lyric length, but then reverted back going for 4 minutes again and adding back in repeated verses, lines and hallucinations.

After people vented songs should always hit 4 minutes again, seemed they got what they asked for.

On the constructive side, with more tools, and more work, cut and splicing is possible and a song can now be "cut down" fairly simply. So there may be benifit to just have as much song length possible.

In most cases , it's found in the drop down menu, in desktop mode, of a song. Payment doesn't affect the menu. BASIC member should have available DownLoad for MP3.

Try to only replace 3 seconds so that it has to reference the old text with the updated word, and with that you can try infinitely as it doesn't cost credits, I use the updated replacement view for that not the "manual"

Shifting the time around by 0.04 seconds also can help or whatever the allowed steps are

If it interests anyone: It may help to explain any short under-8-second extensions, when auto-extending from the end of a piece, letting Suno do it, that the true end can be a varied fraction of a second longer. Here's an example of a 3:03 song, but when the time meter is extended is truly a 3:03.60 song.

Running a Persona, and it's tending to cut off in the middle of words, but well-before the 4:00 mark.
I reported the Bug as Other, hopefully the reviewers understand that it's the cut off at the end, and not the subjects within the song about vampires that I'm reporting....

Both Covers and Personas: set up a workspace and start by cropping out a 1 minute "best" area of the song you're working on. Make a persona of THAT cropped piece, allowing for more time for a resulting output later.

That's it. Cover the cropped piece, or run a new output with the new Persona-prime.

You should have the full 4 minutes available for song output. Covered pieces and Persona pieces will better give way to new lyrics in both instances.

Prove me wrong is fine. 😄 Nothing is guaranteed 💯. But it's an option that gives good results to some people. Ive done it for 6 months while and have had better outcomes within 1 to fewer-than-most clicks. [Didn't want to say much I'm until I could do a work video, but Frick it... no time..hah]

Others may comment this can lose all the intricacies of the "whole" song influencing the persona or cover. The answer to that is, sure, maybe. We don't know until we listen and either like or don't like the results.

Give more time to the outputs, yes, lose a little in the nuances, maybe... or not.

The means of extending is the same. Click extend and make sure you scroll down and adjust the time meter to whichever place you wish to extended from. Have you done that and no success?

Ahhh... you may have just clicked extend and click Create. That works too, but it extends from the very end of the song. And often you'll need to be more precise and put in your own time mark. Either way, I hope it helps.

That's "quality in the feel and vibe" of a song sort of fading out or becoming bland. It's been that since remaster came in for me. I switch to just extending songs every stanza sometimes to keep up the energy in the piece. Christmas songs have been the most noticeable. Bells and jingles to start and then it just blends/blands out to a "regular" song.

Hey guys, I've been paying double and triple for sounds for weeks. The reason: Suno only creates tracks that are 4 minutes long and then abruptly stop. Every time, I'm forced to trash them or create extended tracks. The parts then usually get stretched to 2 minutes and then stop as well. This often forces me to create 5 or more parts to achieve a goal. That can hardly be in the best interest of the customer.

That's how Suno works... on regular generations max at 4 in, on extension, 2 min... currently there's no way to specify the length of the generations. If one wants to create songs longer than 4 min... they'd have to do it via Extend feature.

Yes, of course, I've used this mode before. Not all of my tracks are exclusively instrumental. Including lyrics, these problems almost never arise. Only in Custom "OFF" and Instrumental "ON" modes.

Are there any controls available when generating a song, yhat gives me control over whether the background is dark or light? The problem is that all the words are white, and with no outline. If you include terms in the exclude list that was not original being considered by the AI, this would cause the AI to learn what style it needs to avoid, and consequently, increases the odds of those terms being included (based on my observation).

For example, if there is an equal chance of a vocal being male or female, than excluding either one should be fine.

However, if you were making a "girl group" style and included boys/man/men/etc. in the exclude style, that would increase the odds of male vocals appearing compared to what you would have gotten if you didn't have it present in the exclude list

Always a quick hack is to listen through some other people's songs , find one all a cappella and try their prompts. If it works, make a persona out of it and hope it hits the mark most times.

2nd hack is set to either take any of your a cappella tracks, run another vocal stem, cover into a cappella again to get it to just vocals. If any instruments show up, remove those segments. Make a persona from what's left... OR....

Just run your lyrics against what's left after you splice it up. See if that works.

Youtube, Spotify..etc.. playing on multiple platforms... so I'd think playing on multiple channels on one platform is also the same ...as long as you own those channels and YT allows you monetize those channels, but don't quote me on that... like @polar spade idea, it might be upto YT to check contentId against channel owner and verified it as well.. so you'd need to check and verify.

Stems are separate, so it won't do that. Go to library, then click the trash bin icon at the top right to view the trash list. See if it got thrown in the trash bin by mistake.

the only thing I have done close to this is to use Audacity with openVINO and different track stems. I would take an accapella and then experiment with different instrumentals, or you could upload just your instrumental and make covers and change aspects of the instrumentals and then use audacity to put your vocals back on the track. There might be some other ways on suno but its just the only thing that I have tried that seems to work for these kinds of things for me.

I use v3.0 all the time with [finale], and even [end]. But 3.0 gives me short ends under 30 seconds and often under 10.

Nowadays, you can also try to crop where you want to end, do a fade, then try extending/ending a second or two in, with the newer versions 3.5 or 4.0. But haven't tried to see what happens. It's said the lower volume of the fade may trick suno to end the song.

I am experiencing an issue with my Suno interface that differs from my colleague's, even though we both have the Pro version and are using the same software version across different browsers.

Specifically, my version is missing certain features, such as the "Add Audio" function, which is available on my colleague's interface.

You can try to clear your cache and cookies, check you're not using a VPN and even restart a modem or router if using desktop or to connect phone using 5G and not wifi, to assure any attempt to read your IP address can be authenticated.

If none of that applies, log out and back in rather than just clicking a saved URL address, perhaps.

Otherwise, the error does happen with others, and seems to eventually clear up, as far as I know.

I've had to message Suno, The sound on the vocal is shocking and I've noticed there is a pattern, around the 1:20min mark and onwards the vocal starts to change and it morphes into a distorted sound, I tried 20 times yesterday with different versions of the same song. Then I noticed the volume dipped in the middle of the song. I've told them and sent the songs off to them to listen. No reply but I'm not asking my bank to pull the money back, as it's simply not giving what's on the can so to speak !!!! The emailing is absolutely shocking and after care is a joke. One suggestion in order to use your credits fast (usually done a few days before your monthly refresh, if you still have a lot of credit remaining) is to make several instrumental pieces of various genres.

Upon hearing the ones you like, you can extend those to make the song you want along. Editing a song to your liking (e.g. crop, fade out) will use up some credits as well

There is a watermark for the purpose of it being possible to identify (using software) as being a Suno-generated song, but that's inaudible. This was announced when v3 was launched.
Shimmer is not a watermark, it's just an annoying artifact that became more apparent due to v4's increased clarity. If it were intended to be there, the devs would not be attempting to eliminate/reduce it (which they are trying to do.)

1. yes it does, but it triggers the voice/lyrics to be reprocessed with variation, hopefully getting the correct lyrics. you can also try typing how it should sound instead of how it is correctly spelt (eg:- "beeyah" to say 'beer' in australian accent )

Could someone please update me on the instructional set the damn AI uses now? I've gotten into liking creating songs, but if the prompts are never to be followed and am stuck with the 200 character "styles" limit... Bad enough trying to shove instruction set into a song and keep everything under 3000 characters. On an average, I blow by 3000 easy everytime and usually end up at around 4500 characters.... Song including instruction set.

But now, instructions aren't even being followed, nor is any prompts of the songs. I've reached out to customer service but I have yet to hear back from them. I sent an email to them over a month ago with nothing to show for it.

While one could specify anything as instructions to the model within the lyric itself... many had suggested that try to keep it simple and short... Its not guaranteed 100% AI will follow them but they might help influent the model in serveral generations.
Going wild on the instructions might create issue like you ran into (chars limitation) and sometimes it'd create hallucination too...
There's not a concrete rule or list of instructions that Suno will absolutely follow every time, except the primary song structure tags.

No, I've kept it simple and sweet. I've gotten the songs I've wanted to produce in the beginning up to the first week of March. Now.... Not so much. I just posted this in v4 chat:

I'd provide direct links, but support can literally find all of the songs I've created in the past week in the trash bin.... Pronunciation is off, but worst, it can't even follow a simple prompt.

Back at the end of February, even first week of March, I could create a song with the instructional set I needed.

"finale" is one word.
You have 6 and all capitalized. Suno doesn't understand that to mean "stop". That probably means "tack on a nice 2 minute outro" or Suno may ignore it all. Suno often likes to yell or even pronounce words which are capitalized. Prompt in small letter.

"end" is one word.
You used three and all capitalized. Suno probably just ignores the whole sentence , ends the song, or places a pause before it attaches more song-like sounds in the end.

If most others are NOT having issues, but still some are, to see the cracks of the problems, sometimes you got to remove the rust. Eliminate the user error common in those first then before looking for the bugs.

Bugs usually show up quickly, en masse, and among those that had no issue before when updates are quickly effected.

Remove section is not very precise and most of the time whenever I try to use it, it doesn't even work. It just loads and loads and loads and never actually removes the section. It just gets stuck loading and then whenever you reload it and refresh it. SUNO won't allow a song to be toggled "public" if in the uploaded audio it recognizes somethings that sounds like vocals (or a human voice). So even occassionally a didgeridoo can cause a gate.

Once you take a Suno song offline and then upload it, it becomes fair game whether there is a vocal to be heard. Yep. Same. Can't be public.

You can make sure you are logged out of any other browser, if you have other windows open.

Then also, of the browser you are using to try to log back in, delete cookies and cache.

That's been my routine for logging in from a new browser to avoid the captcha. If i dont do that each time, I get a looping captcha on verifying i'm human.

One avenue to explore.

Separately, Crop the output you like down to 1 minute of what you like best of the song. Make a Persona of THAT cropped output.

Go to the Create window and CLEAR ALL, first.

Back to Persona list and choose persona and click Create new song , the button UNDER that persona.

Back to Create, where it will now list the persona and auto-fill the prompt box. Add new lyrics. Don't change any style prompts.

Designate a workspace while there and give a nice title at the top.

Click Create and see if it sings all new lyrics. If not You can do nothing and click no more than 2 more Creates to see if it corrects itself.

After that, if not successful, re-assess, but determine if successful enough to keep and make small changes in the Edit UI.

One explanation why this may work better is that suno also uses lyrics to work out the sound and vibe of the song, including vocals. So if you use a personas made from a total seed/origin song, it seems to force those lyrics into the new output, as the new lyrics are usually no more in length than the old. So old lyrics take precedence over new as Suno tries to maintain ALL the qualities of the old.

Shortening down to 1 minute of the seed output for making a persona, and you get two things. Suno loses the ability to "compare" the old lyrics, as there are little available in that 1 minute over the new full total lyrics, but still maintains the "style" that comes from the old lyrics... and also it helps avoid the new song from being truncated to the dreaded 3:20, 3:18 and 3:14 time marks, hopefully taking the new song out to under 4 minutes.

I've found it will still try to blend the first verse of both occassionally, as that's often the section I make a seed/crop origin persona song from when cropping out 1 minutes worth. Thus the clicking of Create a couple more times to hope it fully sings new lyrics.

I'm testing different crop sections for future reference.

If this fails, crop the persona to 1 verse and a chorus, and then put in the old text and afterwards the new one, this will often create the persona as it was provided and complete the song with the new text, then cut off the beginning, set the cut song as persona, provide the full text and generate

First: Suno is presently trained to recognize the frequencies common to vocals.

So they have included "Get Stems" in the menu under Create for us to at least separate out the vocal frequencies and sounds from the rest of the output. So you will have a "vocal" track and the rest as an instrumental ( or karaoke) track.

As for stemming (separating instrument tracks) out separate instruments as another app may do, those apps are trained specifically to recognize for separate instruments then master the stems.

Since we cannot recombine the stems within Suno, (timing, styles, fidelity... it'd be a mess) it doesn't make sense and doesnt yet become a priority add those DAW features it seems for this app. Maybe in future updates.

Suno does not prioritize that need as that can be done off-site through other means.

That worked for me too, I also needed a new and longer intro a few times and if you replace 3 seconds at the beginning it will sometimes bug and give you 22 or so and that's all you need to crop and replace again you could also give it some text before the intro so that it's more or less forced to generate something longer and then replace that again with just music

Best approach is to make sure that when you are extending, to avoid areas where you find these artifacts present. It begins a bit of a snowball effect which can really become noticeable. Sure thing! So when it comes to chords, bpm, etc... it's a bit of a slot machine at the moment. The response to the prompted instructions regarding such things aren't consistent enough to advertise/suggest using. That being said, using the Upload Audio function can really help "set the stage" for these kinds of things.

For the most part, generations tend to peak out at about -3 db. There can be occurrences of clipping, and post normalization/mastering would definitely benefit the generation. Always helps to add a little extra you know. I expect the quality and control over such things to improve though. 2025 is going to be pretty awesome!

Don't generate once, make changes to it where you want until you are happy. Is the only othr advice I can give to make it have feeling, and depth.

Certainly not all are bangers, but I have some that I would genuinely buy full price if some Artist released it and that I could see it hitting a top 100 list somewhere. personal opinion. So I think this has some very promising uses.

I’m new to Suno and trying to make more accurate and interesting songs, but no matter what, I always get the same generic male/female vocals. My [instructions] (like emotions or vocal styles) are mostly ignored, even when I use reuse prompt or personas.

I’ve read every guide I could find here and online, tried reuse prompt, personas, the dedicated GPT, and regular GPT, but nothing seems to help 🫤.

Overall, my main goal is to get unique vocal tones—low, raspy, textured—rather than the generic 20-year-old pop singer voice I keep getting lol. I also want to create theatrical, dynamic, and engaging songs.

Could it be because my lyrics aren’t in English? Also, in the past two days, almost every song sounds half-spoken, no matter how much I emphasize instruments or rhythm.

I also hate techno effects, but “lively/acoustic/raw” just gives me soft acoustic instead of energetic live music.

Hey guys, I don’t know if any of the developers are in this channel but I thought I would just bring up an accessibility issue from a blind user. First and foremost, I use VoiceOver on the iPhone, now the accessibility on the PC works just fine however when using Suno from the browser of the iPhone, it won’t let me play any of my tracks. The thing that’s automatically selected when going to tap on a song is the feedback button apparently. Not gonna lie, not a big fan of the iOS app so I like to use it in Safari on the iPhone. Is there a way to fix that at all?

No one has ever returned in here to say there was a resolve. So it could mean a true issue, not a bug. Obviously, many other members have no issue.

So , these are all total guesses:

you would be best to first inquire of your card issuer why and where along the path does a card get declined. Then send an email to [e-mail] to see if they can help.

Make sure your IP is static and your not using a VPN. If Suno and your authenticator login in operator can NOT show a good path for identifying you, it may affect tracking your card use as well.

Also, review anything you may have done which would be suspicious and /or gone against the Terms of Service. We can at least try to rule out a direct issue with the account cause by some initial action - think if you've gotten other errors in the recent past, have several free accounts, logged in from another city, who knows.... just try to rule out any of that. Typically that's a no for most of us.

It could be that it's looking like a copyrights violation therefore against the TOS. If your music is published and well known, then SUNO could comparing it to released music. You used to be able to still produce a song from this, but recently, they just put a halt to it. Personally I don't see the big deal if you want to cover someone else's song for personal use, but it's against the TOS.

I would suggest contacting [e-mail] with evidence of your claim (who you are, proof of identity, proof of the song's copyright and copyright protection in your name, etc.) and ask if they can upload the song you have made or to do a cover on your behalf, or simply ask them what options are available for you to do.

Well, in part, when we use Suno we give permission to use that uploaded content to spread across the Suno-verse and so melody lines, sounds, instrumental riffs, voicings, whatever we've uploaded of your past creations may be made into a generative output within another (and swveral) members' accounts. Thats fine for our content that we have exclusive rights to.

But we have no means of having another artist agree to the same for their work. We have no exclusive rights to the piece, no written permission from the artist specifying our exclusive use, and definitely no mechanical license for uploading recorded material not by our hand. If we have a license or some form of written permission from the artist we'd wish to have Suno legal review, I'm sure they'd be happy to review with us.

A mechanical license to cover is not giving you exclusive rights, just a license to cover, let alone feed their original into a training AI system. That's a limited license as it, but just not condusive to the goals Suno wants from having unique outputs that don't sound like an artists work.

And the use of a mechanical license (or other such licenses) likely won't cut it because (1) Suno requires you to have all exclusive rights over the components you are using for Input, as stipulated when you first used Audio Upload, and (2) in order to use Suno's services, as outlined in the terms of service - which is a contract, it states that you give all irrevocable rights to Suno over those Input.
A license would not grant you the ability to grant that right (as it is not your work) thus would be against the TOS to use it as an Input.

It's good to know the legal definition of a "cover" would be the lyrics and arrangement would remain exactly as an artist has written and recorded it but stylized in your persona.

If you add rap words to the original, repeat lines, rearrange, you're more likely considered doing a derivative and would need a "sync" license. Check with your entertainment attorney or the bands attorney (manager) to know which you need. If you and the band are going to "wing it" then that's outside of this comment. 😁

The option as I've done a couple of times is ...transpose the Suno song, learn to play the main sections it on keyboards or guitar, and upload an audio of my playing in my key. Then start all over with suno , and then re-download a new version. It's still hit or miss as suno will change key again, but it helps at times.

I use both MC 2 (or MPC 2 I dunno) and Audacity. You can speed up a song without changing pitch or change pitch. Either or. You can also JUST adjust the pitch which works fine for most instruments, but the vocals start to sound weird. Like a woman pretending to be a man in some dumb comedy?

I've always had the best insights by calling my credit card/bank and start with them to find out where in the chain it was declined- i mean it could be someone else has tried to use your payment source, always good to check -- if thats part of your "tried everything" then you're a step ahead.
