I’ve always liked the way Udio handles song generation—starting with a 30-second or 2-minute section and then building on top of it with Intros, middle sections, and Outros makes a lot of sense.

On paper, writing a prompt and having Suno generate a full 4-minute song sounds great, but maybe AI music just isn’t quite there yet for consistently producing long generations. Perhaps the sweet spot is around 2 minutes—which, coincidentally, is also where degradation tends to start in most songs. Maybe the best approach for now is to work within that limit and build from there?

I think a lot of us do pretty much just that with our workflows. My instrumentals are often made up of 10 to 12 parts. It'd definitely be nice to be able to limit the initial gens to 30 or even 15 seconds. When I'm working on parts, I rarely listen to more than 15 second before deciding to trash them or save them for later scrutiny.

I looked at my invoices & figured out ~ how many tracks I've generated - over 48,000. 😜 Out of that, I've kept 140 completed tracks plus a few hundred experiments and misc gens. Based on the number of tracks currently in my library, I've trashed over 98% of my gens.

The problem is, Extend and Replace don't work great to shorten and work around songs like Udio. Those annoying artifacts keep oozing in to the extensions and replacements. In the end you still waste many credits to that too. Argh.. Just can't... 🥲

Yeah, Shimmer has been the #1 reason for a large percentage of my trashed tracks lately.

On the subject of them focusing on shimmer rather than adding new features, the staff working on one are not necessarily the same staff that work on the other. If they stopped everything while the appropriate team continues to get their arses kicked by shimmer, there might be a lot of idle employees.

Suno has so many strengths that others don't have (like realistic instruments, vocals and amazing song structures) and the problems it is suffering of makes it even more painful to consider leaving 😩

Competition is definitely starting to catch up. Riffusion is not at the same level as Suno musically, but the generations are often soooooo freakin' clean in comparison. Suno really needs to get this shimmer crap fixed.

As much as Library annoys me by reminding me of my laziness, it always comes to the rescue.

Well, anyway, the issues many find is that it cuts off when using covers and personas. If thats your case, both need to allocate a bit of time from the original song as a seed. If your making significant changes and still get :30 seconds on a first run generation, then that is odd and may be the software at the moment.

It's a big hint for Suno to say , they will credit back anything under 8 seconds, inferring the song can therefore be anything from 8 seconds to 4 minutes. Generally though, most song times tend to output between 1:30 and 4 minutes.

I think each person should do a few tests on using half the lyrics , or removing half the metatags. Whatever simplifies things, so that there is a comparison, a base level that seems to "work" and then work up from there until we find what may be altering it enough to "fail" in whatever way it failed for us.

It could also be a false positive from YT's Content ID system. Did you listen to the song if it sounded similar to whatever it was claimed against?

Or maybe it was because some sample of a copyrighted music was actually present (the AI should have transformed ehat it learned into new music, but statistically, there is a chance it would make something similar to.what exists - or got pulled somewhat from what it learned)

I've learned to change my perspective. I can have a great melody. But if I had never heard that melody, then within 5 outputs I'll probably have another great melody. So a "close to melody" would likely sound perfect if you never heard the first one.

Suno does a decent job at keeping close to a melody, if not exactly. Otherwise, trying to get the exact melody becomes a round peg in a square hole, always some gaps and never perfect.

It helps if you specify a specific subgenre and use the standard name for those instead of your own description of that subgenre.

You could ask AIs about what genres/styles a music uses but you have to be very critical of their answers. AI can lie to you with confidence.

Many people do. Being very selective in the points that you extend from can help a LOT (picking clean(er) sounding points in the audio)... as can an endless stream of credits.

We don't know if Suno has plans for an official API. My personal opinion is that they may be wary about it because of all the fake Suno apps out there already. But if you have some cool ideas for what you might build with a Suno API that isn't a fake app (for example I think about fun music party games you could play in Discord) then I recommend posting in suggestions and mentioning any cool API ideas. Maybe if they see more people talk about creative uses instead of just fake Suno apps, they will be more open to the idea.

Hello, I got an email from Suno saying I've hit 500 songs, so I've made a few. Recently I upgraded to V4 because I am a published author and started putting my own lyrics in. One song I created, called Fuel For The Fire, I wrote about 35 years ago and finally put it to music. It sounds great! I uploaded my own voice, however Suno used a different voice and that's fine. BUT, I CANNOT make the song Public. Suno refuses to let me make ANY part of the song Public, whether the full song or even just pieces of it as extensions. I made it with V4. I even Remastered it again with V4, but I still cannot make it Public. Does anyone know why that is? The only thing I can think is that I uploaded my own voice, which this is the only song I have done that on. Otherwise, it makes no sense to me. I've emailed Suno Support but have not heard back yet. Thanks for any help.

Got another question. When I have Suno fade out a song, sometimes there is a "blip" or "click" during the fade out section. That is what I'm trying to get rid of. Replace section and remaster also mostly doesnt get rid of it. I try to use audio editor Audacity to get rid of it with no luck.

When I use eMastered to master the song, the "blip/click" becomes really noticeable.

I do have another small group of questions: I have a group of 6 songs I made just a few days ago, they are actually powerful related poems straight off the pages of a poetry book I published. They were apparently song ready as written because they sound incredible, they are all Wrath Of God poems and Suno nailed them all, with a few extensions of course. If you want to be blown away look up BluesyWallOfSound Wrath Of God playlist. Anyway, when I download the videos the lyrics are fine on 5 of them, the sixth has no lyrics and my title is replaced by 'Untitled' and the author as 'Unknown'. The 6 song titles are in this general format ' Wrath Of God IV: Dagon' - the titles on the other 5 songs vary, 3 of them only have half the title, up to the colon, the other two strangely are the first line of the song, and those two also credit the author as 'Unknown'. On Suno they are fine, just the videos have these issues. I have regenerated the videos multiple times trying different things like taking the colon out and changing the title but cannot get any changes to appear. Also, one other thing, on two of the songs I changed the photo. In Suno, both on the computer and on my phone, the new photo shows up fine, but in the videos it stays the original, I am unable to change it. Is it possible to make any of the changes I've discussed? Thank you.

Video regeneration is tricky. I've rarely had it work right. Sorry I can't be more help on that one.

Maybe try Extend instead of Replace and back the start spot up a bit to a fresh spot and put a whole new ending on the song. It may turn out better. If you got credits to spare you've got nothing to lose, you'll still have your previous versions.

This might be a bug, can you post an example? Is this an Extension or a Replace? Also same thing, if this only happens when you Replace the very end of a clip, I think that is a known issue.

Try adding a blank space the lyrics, then saving the changes. Then refresh your browser and wait a minute. Then click "Regenerate Video" and wait a few minutes. I think something gets cached but I'm not sure what.

On fadeouts and song endings, this is more experimental, but if you are okay with your song not being 100% identical and the song is shorter than 3:00, I like to do a Cover of the song and add an extra ending verse.

You know, I saw something today, at one point I didn't have the Extend option available, instead there was an Edit button in its place that gave options that are currently unavailable, such as something about cutting out a piece of the song and then somehow connecting the before and after sections together using a feature I don't see on the website, and it wasn't Replace, but now it's back to the Extend button. Are you aware, is that an upgrade to the website soon to come? I also saw two faces to the right of the Edit button, a smiley face and a frown and when I clicked on that it asked something like if I was satisfied how the songs were turning out. It's very strange that it was there for a short time then was gone again.

Suno is always working on features, but I'm just a Discord mod, you'll have to ask them about a roadmap. I will say that I personally constantly suggest a feature to connect not just different sections of songs, but any song to any other song. If that sounds good to you post in suggestions too. Opposite of Crop: Glue/Fuse/Merge/Join/Blend/Anti-Crop/Piece-It-Together or something, I usually say Merge.

Yes, that was an option I recall, connecting two unrelated pieces together, that would/will be cool.

For example, I made a decent extension for a song, but I didn't adjust the start point about 10 seconds and when I spliced it together it was flawed and I was disappointed. With that new feature, just crop the original and splice the second to it and have it blend in.

Suno gave me that name, with some random numbers at the end I deleted. I liked the sound of it so I kept that part.

The first 5 songs are 99% right off the page, with a few selected lines repeated at the end to finish out the songs. The last poem is the flagship poem of the group with more verses so it was bit trickier, but it is still 95% right off the page of my book. They all surpassed my expectations, even my hopes.

I used a persona on them all to forge a consistent sound from an early song I created, No Rest For The Wicked, another great song and a poem title of mine but all Suno lyrics, that blew me away when I first heard it. It was the right persona to use!

So a few quick comments:

1. Unfortunately, your songs do have a garbage load of shimmer. To be fair, most songs in these genres right now do. (I do prog rock and prog metal, so I get it.)
2. The riffs are great.
3. The singer isn't 100% consistent, but there is no doubt that Suno picked up on what your lyric content was going for and did a clone of John Schlitt from Petra. It's absolutely his vocal inflection.

Other than changing endings on songs II and IV last night I made all 6 of them in one night. I'm pretty happy, that was quite an accomplishment for me. Indirectly, the longer duration the Extension (up to 2:00 max) the more the song tends to stay consistent. So if you Extending from Part 3 at time 0:60 try Get Whole Song and Extend the Full Song from time 3:00 or whatever instead.

I have been trying to fix the ticking/clicking issue presenting in some songs generated/remastered in version 4. The clicks present as artifacts occurring at random intervals in the 6000 to 6300 khz range (though this can vary). In the following Image I have circled the artifacts I was able to find in a song I had remastered. Using tools such as Adobe Audition you are able to fix these clicks.

Lol. Custom mode is definitely the way to go (for everything, imo). But Suno doesn't really respond well to direction like that. Suno will cherry-pick out the tokens that it recognizes and the rest of the text is just going to be prompt noise, which can either be ignored or trigger Suno hallucinations... or Suno just may decide to blurt it out as lyrics.

Within the SSO, they each require their own email and password to authenticate you, but that would be before then connecting to any other software or site accepting the SSO.

If you're logging into Suno using the traditional username and password type of login, you may actually be using one the scam services that piggybacks off of Suno. As Davson has pointed out, Suno does not utilize that style of login, but instead gets your credentials from Google, Discord, Apple, or Microsoft.

It sounds like you paid monthly on Dec 2nd perhaps which initiated Dec 25th through Jan 25, then, no payment was received and so had issues.

That's not what yourr receipt shows. So yes, that's is a quandary.

Also, check to make sure you had not inadvertently signed into another account. Obvious check is to check all your songs are the same and your profile looks correct.

in order to get the most out of a cover, you really need to change the style to something significantly different. You can try to make slight variations, such as taking a Heavy Metal song and trying to do a cover as Stoner Rock, that should work. If you dont make any changes to the style, it will sound the same. In regards to crisper sound, you can try a remaster, but its a bit of hit/miss.

Technically, you could probably do that with a cover, but as LaMusic pointed out, that's not really the intention of the cover feature. Remaster would be more suited to that.

There's next to ZERO chance of One-shotting anything other than a short and simple duet that comes out like you want. Extensions are the way to go.

Yea. Its a swooshing effect, often triggered by higher frequencies (like cymbals) and it can get pretty nasty in some genres like metal. Depending on how young/good your ears are, you may also hear a clicking with it. They've been struggling to fix it for months.

Well, the odd news is it didn't lock you for missing an auto payment, it is as if , as you say, your Pro account was canceled for simply not being renewed as manual monthly payments go.

Yea. Again. It certainly seems when you paid for annual (non-auto renew) it gave you a one month (Non auto-renew) instead. It all fits. Just need to verify that with billing (and billing with Splice to show the $192 came into Suno from Splice and not just $30.) Are you in queue at [e-mail]?

Then for billing to click the right switch and give you the annual plus one month courtesy, I'd say, or refund you 11 months.

The training of v3.5 and 4.0 essentially resulted these models having a greater understanding of popular genres and less so for unpopular one.

If you want to get music from a non-popular genre that you cannot replicate in those versions, start off with an instrumental from v3.0 then extend into 3.5/4.0.

3.0 has a much greater understanding of a wide range of genres.

It also helps if you specify a specific subgenre and use the standard name for those instead of your own description of that subgenre. You will need to look up sites with those lists, I like using https://rateyourmusic.com/genres and there are a few more listed under Music Maps at https://treekipedia.mrtree.eu/index.php?title=Useful_links

yes its a "Shimmer" its the reverb that is put into the song by the AI. It's putting reverb on all the parts and that causes the shimmer.

You can remaster to see if it will get rid of it, usually it just makes it worse. you can put in the lyrics and style of music [-10db reverb] but you have a10% chance of it actually working.
or, you can download the master and the stems, go into a DAW and try to use plug ins from waves or izotope to fix it. but....your mileage...will vary ...greatly

Since obviously Frenchcore does not give that genre in any of the versions, you likely would need to see what other genre mixtures can make the music.

I just created a new persona from a song I made previously, then tried to create a new song using it both with the default persona prompts and adjusted ones, and every tiem it just gives me the song the persona is based on. It shows the new lyrics and the prompts in the new song but actually completely ignores both, happily taking my credits for nothing... Getting really irritated here.

By the way, I do know World of the Dream (after checking it out) it's a nice more ambient style for frechcore but still rapid speed tempo, pretty cool. So that's a good example to emulate. I know what you're going for if it's to end up like this song. I don't use alot of deep synth bass patches for one who focuses on pop , but we All members have become versatile in whipping up a starter batch, a baseline, of most anything requested.

So it's more about researching and finding that prompt or tag and starting again to add that in the beginning. Along with lyrics and the rest. A made-to-order style first takes experimenting and some demos. Then taking those ideas and starting over again. I, as well as others, have got a Premium Subscriptions to also try experimenting for others.

Most songs can't be cooked exactly as one needs.... the first round. It may take 100 generations to start pinpointing the right groove and feel.

So take the small points you got tonight and add to your tool bag. Your song will likely take lots of extends to get it where you want.

I started with a violin piece then extended to blend in the frechcore bit on one example. So extend can be used to do a little section at a time, not just a t add to the end. Even a 3 minute output, you can choose anywhere and extend from that point. Yes, you're losing anything after that new extension, so your new extend is either 2 minutes long and fulfills what you need anyway, or you just build your song every 8 bars or so to get a custom sound totaling 5 minutes.

Everything was working perfectly fine during the last months but I started having issues. Firstly when I tried to create a song (in Chrome) I kept receiving a weird vocal saying I was using a fake app and that I should go visit the official website (?). I don't get it, I was already there. I changed browser to Safari and it worked.

Now I was trying to create some music and I keep receiving "An error occurred. A system error occurred." I tried: Chrome, Safari, Firefox and 3 different accounts.

I don't use VPNs, I cleared caché and everything and I still keep gettint the same error.

People are creating a song from using personas as a starting point. And not having issues.

And I think most problems are when we use a song, create a persona and then replace the lyrics which get the persona's song still staying in the output instead of the new lyrics.

Basically any song generated during the free plan is NOT retroactively legible for the commercial license (unless you politely ask for it from support after getting a subscription, I heard support is usually good about that during your first time).

Many people don't bother asking and simply Reuse Prompt, make some corrections if needed, and create a new one (usually because they are more experienced by that time).

Distributors may check if you have the ownership over the output by comparing the daye of generation to a receipt/proof of your subscription period (and maybe Suno's TOS - be sure to keep a PDF copy of that for the future)

As far as I am aware, Suno was not trained to use gendered metatags explicitly.

It is implicitly learned so it's success rate is low (I usually had a 60% success and, half that time, the genders gets swapped).

It is often much cheaper to do the gendered parts in each Part (via Extensions) and change the style prompt as it appears to have more weight in changing the vocal gender.

Alternatively, using external tools to change the pitch/vocals (e.g. vocal swap, RVC models) of the song and use an audio editor like Audacity to select which gender plays is another option (much easier to get your desired results as you can control the type of voice you want sung).

Though some people said they had an easier time getting it when using 'duet' as part of the style (I haven't tested to see if that has an effect or it was just a coincidence)

That's not something that is specific to tracks with acoustic guitars, tho (which probably make up 3/4 of my own tracks). Almost all Suno tracks currently degrade as they progress. It may be more apparent in some acoustic tracks because they're often less "busy" to begin with, so that noise/degradation may stand out more, but it's definitely not a guitar thing.

That member last night wanting frenchcore.... each reference offered they compared to one specific song "World of the Dream" by Sefa/Dr Peacock. So if it had a couple elements, they commented on the missing elements. So they specifically want, together, an audible deep synth bass, fast speed 200-240, ambient distance sad violin intro, and lyrics of some sort (the Sera piece has a break in the middle with a male /female melodramatic convo over the ambient violin music again), into a gabba wubby frenchcore and ending in a slow ambient atmospheric fade out. Got one of those? 😉 A studio would charge $700 for that demo. $1300 for the master.

So that specific, through not impossible, sound doesn't seem to be producible in just a run or two. Needing a bit more time and surgery to get a specific and identical feel of a subgenre that has a wide spectrum and of a song that blends other styles into a frenchcore theme.

I feel we three gave about 5 good varied ones each containing a couple of the elements and variations of the frenchcore sub-genre.

The original comment was that Suno couldnt do frenchcore at all, but what i think they meant was it wasn't resulting in an output similar to one song.

It can definitely be done, but it can often be a major struggle (credit sink). I've done it on a few... and gave up on a few.

what I did:

1. created a Personna from the original song
2. created a new song using the personna, but that's not enough.

• To force suno to recreate the same melody, we need to use the Personna + the same lyrics.
• Suno ignores lyrics added after the 2:00 point in a song
• So I added the english lyrics at the start, then added a separator and copied the original lyrics at the end

3. Cropped to keep only the english part
4. For both the original song and the english version, I generated Stems in Suno (Vocals + Instrumentals)

Oh. No. You might get a beautifully perfect output from Remaster. It can do a great job, and definitely depends on what you feed it. It's not easy to make chicken salad out of chickensh*t so some things I send to Remaster don't always turn out.

Oh by the way, I have a personas (artist) that, as part of her "sound" she sings things off metered, takes lots of breaths and pulls and pushes her lines but always catches up to the meter. With Suno, this had fit perfectly as she never sings covers of other outputs the same, but has a such a unique sound that the song still sounds good, provided she sings it. Other personas just try to sound similar with a different voice, so, not so good.

So yea, personas , as you propose, if we selectively find one for this purpose, can be a great attempt at keeping a melody consistent through a variety of songs or even in a translation. Ill have to look into that idea more. Thanks.

another part of the workflow I haven't mentionned is spending quite a bit of time producing a translation that somewhat matches the sonority and the meaning of the original song. (Claude + o3-mini helped a lot. Used Claude to evaluate and review o3-mini's output, and after a couple back n forth, I had a decent translation. with consistent syllabic structure 5-7-5-7-7-5)

certainly not perfect, but I'm happy with the result. The process including the bad results took a couple hours. But only because I'm perfectionnist (and was working at the same time )

Yes, by just doing that alone, we can also get good reiterating of the same melody. This is a similar workflow to taking a gibberish song lyrics (the original) , write it out syllablicly, and then write true English lyrics close to the metering of the gibberish...... THEN. asking AI to take MY true English written lyrics and re-mold them to maintain the rhyme schemes and intent of the meaning, but match the syllablic pattern of the gibberish song -- as if the same as interpreting and translating a Japanese song into English. THEN feed those lyrics into a Cover using just the instrumental stem of the original gibberish song.

I wanted to keep the meaning of the lyrics, those are very abstract but it's a story about the lost checkpoints during the process of training in machine learning. Back propagation is the wave that destroys the iterations that didn't match the expected shape. The "cruel maze" is the puzzle that a model has to solve by finding the correct curves. when it fails, it get deleted and a new model takes its place. In this song, the singer is one of those iterations. "Countless selves arise" are the other iterations.

the weird part is: This transcription is what Whisper V3 produced... There's no mention of hatsune miku anywhere in the audio

If the question is if there is a technical issue, try generating a one prompt, one lyric line, first run generation. If no problem, it may be more in line with your song than something in Suno's system. Eliminate the easy answer first.

If you're trying to one-shot the song, you're probably going to burn through a LOT of credits. A better way, imo, is to use extensions. Place your extension point after the last pop section that you want, add in your rap lyrics and whatever style you want, and fire off some gens. You can merge that into the original via Get Whole Song and then extend from a point after the bridge and either go in a new direction, or go back to your original styles. The cover function is also no longer usable, nothing works at all. The original song is 3 minutes long, the cover is always shortened by 1 minute to only 2 minutes. The specified style is completely ignored, it always brings the original. The only thing that is changed is male instead of female vocals, although female is specified.
Troubleshooting doesn't seem to be Suno's thing, eliminating shimmering? Why, it's not a bug, it's a feature. The main thing is that we pay every month, at least the look of the website is changed... heyhey. Comment function, yippee, nobody needs it.

I wish I had an answer for you, but the best I can do is confirm that you're not alone. The content filter got a lot more picky about things recently and has been giving far too many false positives

That's a misunderstanding of many. If its a recognized song, it can get filtered. Additionally, "content" can be , well, content, not whether it's copyrighted or even recognized. So specific words or phrases may be triggering it.

There have been false positives as well, so it may be that, but this would be hard to determine which it was.

Since last October there have been increased moderating of both initial upgrades as well as scanning older entries for content that could be against TOS, but also attempting to be a bit more "family friendly", I think as well. I’ve noticed that there are some good songs created with version 3.5, but the quality is not the best and contains artifacts. Even when using the Remaster V4 option, it doesn’t produce an exact remastered version—it always alters the voice, some instruments, etc.

idk what kind of update came to suno recently, but now the generations don't work the way I usually make them. Sometimes the generations doesn't include the part I mark as "Natural Discussion", other times it reads the normal lyrics as if they are a natural discussion. Even the voices sound more robotic than how good they sounded prior to the update

There are no developers (technical support) people in this channel. So it's more of a "how to get the best out of Suno channel", where we members try to help others members. We can't check any status of a person's account or app function.

From there, there has been some issues this past week with the server, especially Friday and Saturday where it's thought there has been an influx of activity. So far, the best answer has been to just try again in a few minutes.

If you're having issues only on one paid account and not the other accounts, then that does seem specific though -- especially if it's "system error" which typically points towards Suno and not so much something you may be doing.

When you say "other accounts" , are you using the same browser for logging in those as well?

If this "problem" account does not work under different browsers, and other accounts do, assuming each are paid accounts, then, yes, it would seem there may be an account issue. Though "system error" seems an odd error for an account issue if the browsers seem to function properly and are updated.

But some errors do pop up in Suno before that are more like an "engine light" of a car, where they just show to indicate a problem and nothing more.

Has that one account recently renewed and you can't use since the renewal date 3 days ago?
