The devs aren't likely to check songs posted to this channel - it's a community channel for discussing prompt-crafting and the underlying technology behind Suno. Unfortunately, having "Technical" in the name makes people think of "Technical Support", so it's often the first place users stop to report issues.

What you're hearing in the last half is just a hallucination - Suno going off the rails and ignoring the prompt. Suno will just do this sometimes, regardless of the prompt. Other times, it may be triggered by something in the prompt, often a style or tag that it doesn't recognize or some gibberish text/symbols. Sometimes Suno will just start belting out new lyrics in a language that it seems to make up on the spot - Sunoese?

Some of us actually try to trigger hallucinations to get weird or interesting quirks in our tracks. I'll be sad the day that hallucinations totally disappear.

hey everyone, i'm struggling with v4 at the moment. i want to extend some tracks that i made myself with VSTs and use suno to remix them, which works flawlessly in v3.5, however in v4 it keeps on changing melodies and instruments. i understand that the ML cannot be trained to replicate the instruments 100%, but 3.5 got so much closer. its a bummer that the sound quality of 3.5 is so much inferior.

any recommendations on how to prompt suno for keeping the instruments and melodies close to the sample that i'm extenting?

In that case i think that you should start off with some instrumentals that you like and then extend with the death metal voices style from the point where the vocals begin

Also noticed, even in V4 Suno is often not able to get the voice on beat, so I always have to do some minor corrections

I found that the stem separator in suno isn't all that great, you should find other services. Best one i found so far is Moises.ai

Exactly. I had in mind the vocal line, but i'm not a singer so Suno helped me and the result was Brilliant. I simply didn't put any genre, uploaded the original lyrics and made a cover of the file previously imported.

Now I am not sure what are the songs with free plans as I mixed all the songs. I want to identify them so that I do not use them for commercial use. Please help identify songs that are created under free plan.

Suno's newer music video generator is failing to generate all my lyrics, previously using special characters was no problem but now both some japanese katakana/kanji or whatever the right terminology is, as well as greek letters, are both messed up. For one, the video generator and cropping tool doesn't manage to line the lyrics up at all, and some letters are either replaced by transparent gaps or small symbols saying "NO GLYPH".

Is there a way to opt back into the old video generator? Or to solve this some other way?

According to Suno's TOS (which is a legal document) at https://suno.com/terms, Output generated has the rights, titles, and interests assigned only to Suno but they allow you to use it non-commercially and with Attribution.

They only assigns it to you if you generate the part when you have a paid subscription.

There is a very high likelihood that the songs made during the free plan has a different inaudible watermark distinguishing it from songs made during a plan - which would be one reason why making the extensions from a free song during paid plan an issue

You do own your own Input but you do give Suno irrevocable rights to use what you used for the Input perpetually.

At the moment, this is not feasible with Suno's Output as the US Copyright Office has a standing "only works with sufficient human involvement can be registered for copyright protection".

I am doing songs (jingles) that often include phone numbers. There's an issue with pronouncing numbers, it pretty much stutters over them. I had this issue with Eleven Labs doing general voice overs. It did improve them, but every time I tried to remaster the same song, it ended up changing the little guitar solo interludes in to vocal hummings, over and over again. We can control where the extension start, which can make the world of difference.

However the prompting for Extend doesn't function any differently than the prompting for normal generations -- the biggest differentiation being that it uses the previous clip for context, so you don't even need to include style prompts and it'll attempt to continue the existing styles.

What point of Extension do you use? I think, it helps if you start somewhere "clean" and with lyrics not in the middle of an instrumental interlude.

So maybe that's my issue. For example, I have a 1:59 track that I'd like to make longer. Even if it only added 30 more seconds of [Refrain]. As I'd prefer not to kill what I have, I always pick a start point from like the last 5 seconds.

As far as I know BPM can't be processed by the AI. I tried it a lot. Works better with adjectives (energetic, emotional and so on) or even classical music prompts like andante or piano. 🙂

Unfortunately, bpm / key etc aren't things that we can reliably prompt for -- arguably [refrain] wouldn't be unlikely to work, but it's less about "commanding" or "instructing" and more about "suggesting"

Alternatively, you can use the audio upload feature to provide a clip with a specific bpm / key pattern for it to continue from.

If you're on a paid subscription, the "cover" feature is remarkably powerful for achieving this

I do that as well. A lot of this stuff is music I already recorded in full, or simple form. So interesting on the key/bpm as I see a ton of folks talking about using it with Suno. Anyway, I've tried Cover and it makes the song so different, it loses the feel. Sadly I think what I want it a feature to take exactly what I have and just add more of it, without any variance to the original. I know that's kind of what Extend is supposed to do, but heck some of my melodic country songs suddenly become hiphop!?! 🙂

It might be good to include country-leaning keywords in the style prompts for the extension if it's giving dance music, if that was the issue I gathered earlier.

re: private-restricted uploads -- any uploads that are detected to have vocals can't be set to public (so they won't show up on your public profile or search), and others can't extend from them -- but you can still share the links and they're still visible in playlists

If you cover from it, it still started with a restricted clip, so those are restricted as well 🙏

I shared a video above that shows how I could sing a melody and use Cover to "reimagine it" -- instead of having to try very hard to get a cool trumpet intro the way I wanted, I just sang it and let Suno do the hard work for me 😄

@hoary marsh It doesn't impact our ability to work on tracks by ourselves, but if it prevents bad faith use of people uploading vocals they don't own & creating "The Beatles" personas while Suno is getting their footing, it's probably a reasonable restriction in the short term.

That said, some of the creative potential is stifled in the name of creating a safer, more stable platform -- but the ability to create and work collaboratively with Suno to reimagine your content is absolutely still there 💪

You can do the same thing on a paid plan with extend, but it likely wouldn't have extended from my singing with the same kind of quality -- whereas Cover allowed for a very easy workflow.

That said, a lot of the "audio upload" demo videos from the team were of people playing everyday items to set a bpm, and many tracks of musicians playing the first pieces of music for Suno to continue from -- but not everyone has the means or know-how to record that first piece of music

Is it a known issue where AI does not consistently say a person's name in the same song consistently? Example, for Kayla, sometimes it says the first "a" as a long a, which is correct, then the next time pronounces the "a" as a long "i" (eye).

Extend usually does a good job continuing the same vocal & instrumentation styles -- it's not impossible that it would change drastically, but it might help give context if you can share the resulting Full Song, as well as sharing the timestamp we should be listening for.

I know the team is committed to investigating and resolving the issues where Replace Section doesn't quite match the style of the surrounding content, so I'd imagine this issue would be dealt with similarly.

Don't forget about the simplest method for figuring out tags, just click on the tags on Suno and look at he songs people generated with them. That can be misleading with all the latest features (it only shows tags in the first segment, for example) but it is still useful.

v3 still works best for nature sounds. Rain and thunder are pretty easy with v3, but ONLY if you prompt for just them... add more styles or tags and you'll quickly lose the nature stuff. You can then extend into v3.5 for music, or remaster to v4 and extend from there.

The lyrics generation service has updated from what it used to be -- now in addition to the default lyrics model, there's the "ReMi" lyrics model.

Yes, this new setup has a 200 character limit for the prompt you give it, whereas before you were able to use ~1250 characters and generate lyrics based on that.

For the record, "ReMi" is wild -- the classic lyrics model will give results closer to what you're expecting.

Just to be clear, the issue seems to be with the autogenerated lyrics function, opposed to an issue generating songs with custom mode, correct?

Anybody have prompt suggestions to tone down volume of drums and to omit fingersnaps. It seems a lot of my songs end up with very heavy drums (and often repetitive like the same drummer who just likes to beat the hell out of the toms). Are these songs with lyrics that are being cut off, or instrumentals? You can Extend/Replace to make any song longer, and you should know that songs created with Cover/Persona feature are shorter than 4:00 (depends on the specific song) so that is normal, but they should be longer than 2:00 even in the worst case.

Oh just in case you are Extending a song, in that case, it is normal for those generations to not be longer than 2:00. 4:00 is for a fresh new song.

Not at this time. The best way to be more specific with Suno for now is use Upload feature to give Suno a starting point, and build off it.

Rather than trying to find one perfect style tag that works, it's probably related to the style of music your making, so you may have better luck if you increase the variety of style words you use. Cover a wide range of options. That should you find some that sound the way you want. Also be sure to experiment with Persona and Cover feature. You can use them even to make very different songs, and if you Crop of good example of your music that doesn't have heavy drums or snaps, that may be all you need. Use a short crop if you want to generate very different songs, the influence will be less strong then (so you aren't tied to the voice or melody, for example)

To be clear: you are using a "credit card" (recognized internationally- Visa, MC, Amex)

......or is it a bank debit card , which is NOT a credit card? Malaysia has their own system, right, My Debit , or something like that?

It may be something to consider whether a more "local" Malasian bank card is less easy to verify by the Suno bank and so may be "auto-blocked" by the apps banking system. I'm taking wild guess based on others experiences.

One attempt might temporary deny it by Suno's bank, but 3 times might flag it for fraud, so be careful ,before getting in contact with billing, in attempting too many times.

Also, if only a minimum balance shows available in your bank when there are pending charges yet to be posted, this might stop a transaction though the card itself is "good", in any country.

If you're having trouble achieving a duet, it's not necessarily that you're doing anything wrong or using incorrect metatags -- everything we use impacts the output, including what we use as lyrics.

There's a number of different techniques for duets, but a degree of it boils down to luck 😅

Getting harmonized parts is probably the hardest thing about duets. I'll often try things like:

[Chorus: Male, Female, Duet, Harmonized]

Even when that fails to give a harmony (which is usually does), it can often result in the two alternating lines, or even switching mid-line. This is where using extensions can shine - If the duet is going well, but then falls apart in the chorus or one of the verses, you don't have to scrap the whole thing, just use an extension to start from a point in time just before things went south... and continue on.

If all the stars are aligned, and you have made the prerequisite sacrifices to Suno, you'll occasionally get the perfect duet. This is a test remix of one of Drew Everlong's songs:

I've cleaned up the lyrics, but I typically use things like:

and will experiment for parts that I'd *like* to be harmonized.

Depending upon how well Suno responds, I may experiment with variations on those tags like:

...or

As you'd noted, paid memberships have access to the Persona feature, which uses a clip from that song as context to attempt to recall the same vocalist/instrumentation style -- sometimes persona tracks will regurgitate parts of the original song, some personas seem better suited that others -- still trying to figure out what makes "the best" personas, as it can still feel "hit or miss" in its beta phase.

Humming or recording your own version of the melody to upload might be a grey area if the intention is solely to circumvent copyright, but that's at least a safer way about it since you'd own that particular recording

While metatags can help push a style in one direction or another, it’s largely determined by the Style of Music prompts and the lyrics themselves — I’m not familiar with that band/artist (not able to listen atm), but sultry bass singer doesn’t sound far off from what I would have tried.

If I were to tackle this issue, I’d create the instrumental that I wanted first, then extend without adding anything to the Style of Music section referring to the instrumentation (since extending from that clip will already continue that style) — I’d then focus the prompts solely on related terms, baritone, deep-voiced singer, basso, sub-baritone vocalist, maybe using the exclude style section for higher vocalist ranges, etc

It depends how the subscription is cancelled. Cancelling via the Suno website just prevents the subscription from renewing at the next billing interval.

Be aware however that the credits for the subscription plan will still expire at the end of the subscription month. Cancelling the subscription does not prevent this, it just means the credits don't refill and you just drop back to the free plan instead.

It's good to experiment and see what you can get Suno to do. There's never anything 100% conclusive but if you prompt for something and the output corresponds to what you prompted for, on multiple occasions, that's a good indicator that a prompt works fairly reliably.

For example, tempo (in BPM) and chord sequences don't work, although they might seem to because the genre can influence both. These are easy to prove/disprove at least.

But there are more obscure prompts that are hard to examine (the ones that precisely direct everything that should be happening, where the AI is probably just picking out keywords, vs me prompting like I'm trying to encourage a cat to do something in as few words as possible.)

Oh, absolutely. So I have a 19-track prog rock sci-fi concept album that I put together, and while it's not perfect -- because Suno loses track of things after too many changes -- I am still really happy with it as an excellent demo. And I experimented with all sorts of things. I was quite stunned at things that Suno did that I didn't even tell it to do that made the songs better.

(It didn't hurt my project that when I was in the depths of the project, we got the free Persona and Cover credits.)

I was amazed to find an instrumental melody in song 6 of my project show up as an aside in song 11...which for prog rock, is the kind of thing you dream of.

If you're getting the same error on multiple devices (meaning it's nothing wrong with the device you're trying from), and the payment method still seems fine, you might need to contact [e-mail] so they can investigate the matter. 🙏

No way on the website ATM beyond emailing [e-mail], but if you have the iOS or Android app you can delete your entire account (account, songs, everything gone for good) from the account page

I have two significant instrumentals on my album, one with some spoken word text over it...the second was created while I was creating the first, simply by splitting the stems and then working on the second as a pure instrumental. It was magic.

I've ended up with some kind of weird "family tree" of stuff I've generated with Suno. Going back to an earlier part and re-extending it in a new direction is dangerous because you then end up with a bunch of different takes that all do different things.

One day I'll actually get round to editing stuff but I just keep generating more and more things 😅

I had the extensive lyrics to my centerpiece song of the album, but no exact idea what it should sound like. I have 6 different varients, all now sitting at between 7:00-8:30, because even when I determined that wasn't the direction I was going to go, I wanted to hear what those ideas would do. It was worthwhile even though nobody is probably ever going to hear those "outtakes."

But then let me ask an actual technical question for what I'm working on right now...so I am really trying to create something that has extended instrumental breaks. That same song I mentioned before did get an epic 1-minute intro that I didn't even ask for that was perfect. And indeed, in my song prompts (not lyric prompts) I said [epic] and [contemplative] along with a few other genre specifics. Meanwhile, on others, I've asked for instrumental bits in song prompts that Suno blissfully ignores. Has anyone been able to create regular lyrics songs with major instrumental breaks like what you find in Progressive Rock through prompts?

Unsure if this is what you're trying to achieve - I tend not to rely on [tags] alone to force structure. Though this is more expensive, I usually extend from a particular time that I feel the next section should start at, and then put style and [tags] for that alone. Even then, it might be ignored, but being able to fiddle around after you have a previous part gives a bit more control. Assuming you haven't tried this approach already.
