This means nothing, really. If you use a wrong Google address and create a new account with it, you'ill also see it on the connected account page. If you don't have a backup username/password and no other identity account is connected, Suno support is your only option, I'm afraid.

I'd treat this part of TOS narrowly permissively: no one has any rights to the PD content. The question is, whether one has all exclusive rights to something when there are no such rights exist. How many Lamborghinis I own if I own zero Lamborghinis, and what "all the Lamborghinis I own" mean? The trivially false predicate in the first order logic is, trivially speaking, trivial. 🙂 That's the letter of the TOS. And its spirit, don't do anything for which Suno even remotely could be sued, because the uploader owns only a pair of socks and a straw hat, so suing them is a hopeless business. Which is also OK by this metric: no one can sue anyone for using the PD content.

I'll concede that lyrics are likely fine -- the only factor influencing a discouragement of using publicly available lyrics is that due to the nature of machine learning, if given similar prompts & lyrics, it's not impossible that multiple users could get similar or identical songs -- while it's acknowledged in the ToS, still favourable to put basic guardrails in place to prevent the general public from running into those issues.

That said, I've used the national anthem because I don't expect Canadian to force me to take the song down.

I might have been a tad overzealous, but many users conflate "public domain" with being allowed to use copyrighted recordings of public domain works 🤷‍♂️ Definitely erring on the side of caution, but I'd rather overcaution & let the informed few make educated decisions 💪

At minimum, there's a slight caveat to that. The source of the public domain song that people like to point to is usually NOT public domain but a recorded and /or documented rendition, derivative, interpolation or otherwise of a public domain song, owned by someone which holds its own copyright. A slippery slope. Jingle Bells, the song, is public domain. The song Jingle Bells as played by the Boston Philharmonic that you downloaded, bought or recorded of the internet or radio is NOT public domain.

Having said that, it's not about if anything has a copyright or not, it is, within the confines of the TOS, that a creation is purely yours if 1) you created it out of thin air from no other source and thus own exclusive rights by being the sole bearer or 2) if someone else created from thin air and you have legal documentation they they assigned their exclusive rights over to you.

You're the smart one. It's the other 30 to 1, who we keep trying to have understood that they can't just upload anything they "think" is safe. So one can't just sit mid-range with their rules and hope everyone is smart enough and willing to share in the common goal. So you go into overkill mode to average out things in the end. It's mentioned that balancing as much to both sides of what you are replacing is optimum. Whether that's true in practice, I don't know.

I assume the wider you go , certainly the more it may alter regarding the music aspects. How it better changes the one thing you want to replace and keep the rest of the lyrics, within that range, the same is beyond me.

If I were to wildly guess, I'd say setting the margins at good breakpoints , end of a line, end of a meter/bar/4 count would seem optimal as well to NOT have it reworking the beat, style or arrangement within that 10 or 20 seconds.

If you're having issues replacing a particular word, try to replace the sentence, or the stanza, or the verse -- you can place the same lyrics albeit with the desired word changed -- it may still sing the original lyrics if the song overpowering that decision -- I'm not well-versed on how to manipulate Replace Section to get specific results, I haven't found much personal use for the feature, though I know it is a lifesaver for other users & workflows

I don't know if I really get what you mean, but what I mean is you don't want to get a bad splice and jack up the song. It is better to let it infer how the section should sound and go from vocal break to vocal break all together. Less chance of a weird word being extended.

It is about the flow of the music more than the words. Replace is not a lyric swap, it is an audio swap. No matter how you do it. The audio is created as one entity. To exchange it is to splice and fill in the gaps

Just based on persona it is easy to tell that the original song wants to break through look at covers. I put this as a general aspect of Suno currently. If the change is not significant enough then you won't get one...consistently at least

i thought I lost it all but its all there. as long as you sign in like you did, the songs will still be there. the only time they'd "vanish" is if the server they had them on died.

You are correct. However, I did find a partial workaround

It does require a mouse click but just one to make it pop up in the timestamps. Then you can use the keyboard to bring it the end of the song.

Covers are amazing- if you get a melody you want, you can work on getting a "draft" of the song and let it have wonk or bad instrumentals or vocals. Do edits and stuff, and even if the edits don't mesh super well, that's ok. You can section out your song.

-then- you can use covers to kind of 'smooth out' the song. I am able to get nicer, non-ai sounding vocals that way. Or sometimes even change the pitch/tempo while keeping the melody and vibe.

They were kinda just talking about it above you. ChatGPT is the moderator and it not only looks for languages but imagery the lyrics may provide.

For example, TiGonn had issues making a song about a skeleton army disposing of an evil warlord, and similarly, a lot of necromancer D&D campaign songs got censored.

The reason we eventually found out? The mentioned songs talked about ribcage, Skulls and bones, etc. (Though mostly the ribcags) seems to trigger the moderation.

We suspect that ChatGPT has some sort of Forbidden Imagery training and blocked those songs because it associated the ribcage, etc. with more violent depication (e.g. extremist, war, etc.)

well, when trying to get Covers to read new lyrics more often than not (as well as trying to get audience participation), I mesed with the tag 'sing along', and that happened to give me some youthful vocals

It might a combination of prompts. Suno pulls traits and nuances from both prompts and the lyrics you use. So you might not get a good result from "imp" or "elf" or "child" but it might take something like " playful, toys, Christmas lore, female vocals, epic fantasy, vocaloid" These aren't specific, but I'm throwing down things that spark a dense of childlike traits. Enough put together and Suno may see a pattern and give a more "impish" voice than just a female one.

Surprisingly, the vocaloid at the end might get a higher timber without sounding robotic.

So again. I have no idea. But I haven't seen a single prompt yet work so far for me or come across one.

FWIW, Edgar Poe works entered the PD 105(!!!) years ago, in 1919, in the EU, the US, AU and Canada. The Western states are not allowed to prohibit this. You might be able to retrieve the MP3 that was being generated from your browser cache, but how you do this depends on which browser you are using etc. I think I fished a failed generation out of Firefox's cache once, but it was a long time ago so I can't remember how I did it.

it means part of it exists, but it hasnt finished generating yet. Whether suno's servers store a piece of a failed song or it just flushes it all out, i dont know. But realistically they are not going to hunt through all of their data to find a partial song someone wants

I could see it be in a buffer for a little while. Issues with audio tend to crop up when the bit rate gets corrupted. I have never dug into how exactly the audio of Suno is created but I have read that it generates true audio tracks so it definitely has a bit rate. You may spend more time trying to stitch that up than generating another track that is close to it.

When you play the MP3 as it generates, it's streaming it to the browser as it's doing this. When it completes, it then becomes available as an actual downloadable MP3. It can fail between these two points.

There was a bug that used to sometimes happen where you'd get a song streaming that was well beyond the maximum length of a clip, and when it finished generating you'd get an MP3 file that was the correct length. Usually in these cases the later part of the file wouldn't really be listenable, it'd be a mishmash of the two songs being generated or it'd just be a repeat of the earlier part of the MP3 so there wasn't really any advantage to it, but I ended up fishing the unusually long generation out of the cache before realising it didn't have anything interesting in the later part anyway 😅

Ive always read "....including the Service and the artificial intelligence and machine learning models related to the Service...." to mean our outputs may be used to improve the Service and be part of future training. It's never been a serupticiously hidden action from where I can see, whereby outright saying that's what we give permission for Suno to do.

I think they can train just fine without removing our access to our song outputs. Just my thought, of course.

I've accepted that my song is gone, but perhaps someone here can help me get something close to it. The specific reason I loved it so much was this effect where the vocals for the chorus ended on a sustained note, and the vocals for the next verse started in over it in an overlapping fashion. That sort of thing can only be done in studio production, of course (if it's one person singing, anyway), because one person can't sing two vocal lines at once. I seem to recall that there was a name for the produciton trick where this is done; does anyone here know what it is so I can try to browbeat Suno into repeating it?

"Corporate lawyers" and "logic" should better not be used in the same sentence. But the bottom line is, either they change the TOS, or Persona is dead on arrival. Neither is an impossibility. Lawyers sometimes have the last word because they're lawyers, and use their own jargon that nobody, including management, understands. The TOS says it's OK to make a song on Suno with lyrics in the Public domain, but it's a violation to download it and upload back without any change. There is no logic, only the lawyers. Suno is growing out of the user-friendly startup stage, unfortunately. The reason and the logic are always the first to go.

The way I explain it is like image Gen. When you go after a certain type like a person in image generation. If they are normally in a certain setting then that will be the default that has to be pulled away from with weighted words. Style has the most weight, lyrics are nudges. Since there is no way to weight the words in the lyrics

I'd responded a while back regarding a similar request about vocal harmonies / choir-style songs;

"I've found some success with "acapella" or "a cappella" -- this is all entirely subjective, but I find the first, anglicized spelling, "acapella" seems to suggest the vocal harmonies while still including other instrumentals.

The traditional italian spelling "a cappella" seems to lean more toward choirs, vocal percussion, etc., but I've still gotten instruments with that as well -- Suno "vibes" with almost anything we give it, opposed to obeying all input as hard-coded commands."

I'm not sure if "a cappella" would influence the style away from a nasheed-feel, but there could be effective methods to test that aren't as direct if you're not able to achieve this through prompting alone (perhaps stripping the vocal stems of one of the better results, and extending from that to further emphasize to Suno that you only want the vocals continued, top of my head approach)

imo -- the more specific of a song you have envisioned, the less likely you'll be able to create it solely through the use of complex prompting.

It might be worth using an extension just before you want to affect a change in the song, or perhaps use an external DAW to adjust the pitch in post?

I find things like Anthemic or Progressive works even if it does not go with the genre in a normal way. So Progressive Alternative Rock is a thing even if it sounds off. Anthemic Operatic Glitch-hop Industrial Metal is a thing...lol. while keeping your specific instruments in lower case, but if you have a specific chord progression in your head you would need to play it yourself and then get AI to follow it after a solid 2 minutes of that chord Progression. Extend that and then crop the beginning and move from there. That I would think is your best bet. I uploaded a full one and it held my chord Progression on a song I made over a decade ago.

Try changing the Extend From time to a different time than the end of the clip. Try back 1 second, or back 2 seconds. It might work better if you choose a time where the voice is right in the middle of singing.

If that doesn't work, you might need a longer voice clip.

For style tags, try with a blank style prompt, no tags at all too. That can sometimes help.

Something that might help (but it's not guaranteed) is to first edit the song lyrics of your uploaded file with something like this:
[Verse 1: insert-name-here]
Insert-lyrics-of-upload-here

And when you extend your upload afterwards with something like:
[Verse 2: insert-name-here]
Insert-whatever-lyrics

Then you might keep the same voice. Sometimes worked for me, but not always

Probably because your song is being completed by that point? If you want to extend your song for much longer, consider adding more lyrics (copy & paste what you already have to double up) or use more instrumental tags to add, well, instrumental sections to prolong the song generation

The only time one of my v3.5 extensions went beyond 2m was when I was extending off of an upload. I havn't tested to see how easy that is to replicate, but that was the only thing that I'd done differently than my usual workflow

A good rule of thumb is that Suno's output is largely determined by what you use as an input.

For instance, I was testing -5 to -10db vocals to see if it would effect any change in the vocal levels -- it ended up making every generation super short.

If you notice that the same thing happens between generations, try changing your prompt 💪

I know that some limitations are placed solely to prevent higher frequencies of hallucinations -- like the time restrictions in Replace Section were because they noticed there was a sweet spot for success rates.

I wonder if this was an accidental lifting of the restrictions, or if they found that v3.5 could handle this particular use case well enough to not need that limit anymore.

Sometimes it can help to post the lyrics into chatgpt and ask if there's anything that an oversensitive automoderation system might flag -- sometimes it's a word that means a slur in a different language, or sometimes the specific phrasing adds a context that the automod seems to dislike.

Support may not be able to rectify the automoderation flagging directly as a result of you emailing them, but the only way they can know that the oversensitivity is causing problems is if people let them know 💪

My personal rule of thumb is that the more specific of a song that you're envisioning, the less likely it is to be able to create it as a one-shot generation solely through the use of complex prompting.

If I were to approach this, I'd start off trying to prompt for just the drums until I have an intro that sounds the way I want -- then I'd extend off that with the lyrics and the guitars so I would be able to choose EXACTLY when they enter, instead of being at the mercy of Suno's decision for how long "heavy drums intro" should go for.

Adjunct to that.... if you have a lyrics song and you remove lyrics from the extended segment, it can cause the new extension to generate a short end piece.

Or... if your next extension has no lyrics, you could also get a short segment. Having something in the lyrics box of an extension , whether a lyrics song or just instrumental seems to help lengthen the extension.

An easy fix is to leave a few tenths of a second at the end.

Try uploading say 20 seconds of voice, then doing an extend from 10 seconds in, with the lyrics continuing what you are actually singing.

I found that 'forcing' it to continue a verse of the voice that you want at the beginning will cause it to carry it over into the rest of the song.

But if you just have say an intro, then extend directly from that, it doesn't always 'pick up' the voice.

I tried to do a fade in Suno, but quickly realized that's best done externally. Best bet if you truly want one, is to set it up so you have plenty of extra space at the end to time it.

Before I went and let the song itself decide whether a fade is needed, I set up a repeating chorus at the end that iterated about 3 times, and then applied it manually in a simple WAV editor

But, maybe try a tag like [Finale: Fade]?
