Maybe this picture will help illustrate what I mean. When you get the Whole Song, it takes the video previously generated and puts them together. It is very cheap computationally to do it this way.

You can see your Part 1 video (Left) last until 02:54 where after it gets extended into Part 2 (right).

With using video editing softwares, you can make a music video how you want, albeit with some elbow grease put in.

That is essentially what Harber is going to do, create a video to make a slideshow with your music MP3 playing in the background

Does anyone have advice on getting the Replace Selection feature to...actually replace the selection? It is 100% striaght up ignoring the lyrics, and repeating an earlier portion, despite grabbing a full 30 seconds (the end) and attempting to get it to use my outro lyrics.

The lyrics in red, do not actually happen at all, ever. Completely different lyrics are in that entire section, contrary to what it says, before AND after. It seems to be a bi-product of the beta cover feature if I'm not mistaken.

extensions seem better for ends, and you can always patch it over. You are currently exactly at the end and from my playing with replace. replace doen't like to touch the absolute end or beginning. So you could try to extend it into a instrumental outro and use a drastically different outro prompt for rreplace.

Atleast that has worked with my limited playing with replace.

That's generally the idea behind uploading one of your music ideas. Suno will give its interpretation and generate variations to the theme, often repeating the melody. Ideally something you've recorded, or can even record audio live by clicking the record button. Provided, as agreed, that you own exclusive rights to the riff or piece.

Took just drum beat (from his pedal), his playing, and made a full song, with lyrics.

I simply grabbed my guitar and sang a song I wrote years ago for 2 minutes worth and got literally the same song back to me. Not always this happens. Be prepared for variants and odd arrangements. Vocals in the audio WILL limit your generation to a private status and can't click to make it "public" within the Suno environment, just to let you know. But I entered my song into the SSC5 song contest here in discord. That's allowed.

It's a "thing" the devs know about. Covers are still in beta. If the timemarks are exactly the same, likely it's a very similar cover, but if the time marks are shorter or longer, though they may start out or sound similar, they may have some interesting changes. I have to listen all the way through them to see if there are some nuggets to find.

Ok, so I believe I know what is going on with Suno's quality. With 3.5 everyone is able to generate songs twice as long, and the generative models tend to have drift that can happen over longer spans. It makes perfect since. Good thing is, that making the songs in smaller sections may work, but the bad news is making songs in smaller sections may work...lol.

Hi, I just started using Suno and it's pretty cool so far. I'm having one issue, though. It doesn't seem to be able to understand any prompt related to using a male or female singer. When I don't specify, it's about 50/50, but when I've specified I want a female singer, it ends up giving me a male voice like 80% of the time. Is there something I'm missing, or a more consistent way to get it to follow that part of the prompt?

I created stems and edited those too, I wrote all the lyrics and I am a paid subscriber to Suno. Any advice on how to upload to publishers would be greatly appreciated. I now have 2 songs I am incredibly proud of.

I think the issues with Distrokid + Ai gen is that because they're a "discount distro-partner" if you misrepresent yourself (or even fail to properly disclose credit) they drop you faster than a hot penny.

They can't establish the same reputation with the DSPs like Apple or Spotify if they're thought to be a vector of misuse & abuse regarding AI music

I know you should avoid CD Baby and TuneCore. They had stated to be anti-AI in the past (though I think TuneCore has a partnership with some AI companies nowadays?)

Not to mention how suspicious TuneCore TOS in regards to royalties when your account is suspended (which can happen with as little as unfounded accusations or when you employ ads which they think you are employing a botting service. The latter is an issue that happens a lot with distributors and solved by showing them a receipt of Google AdSense or wherever you bought the ads to promote the song)

You DEFINITELY should read the TOS, especially in regards to the royalties, before signing up with a distributor. I know that Top Music Attorney on YouTube went through some of them

When you're submitting a song to your distro partner, they each have their own forms to fill out.

Just make sure that you read carefully and treat it like legal documentation (IT IS). Sending wrong information because you didn't understand, or didn't read a specific subsection isn't an excuse.

Not everyone, but I genuinely believe a lot of people have run into issues with Distrokid or other distrobution partners because they expect that any mistakes will be handled the same way that Youtube or Apple reach out to let you know there's an issues

I tend to stick with the main prompt that gives me the musical style I want, then add meta commands in the song to add details, but someone said don't put them below eachother, put them in separate brackets on the same line. Then I just generate 6-8 songs and hope for some sweet randomness.

As a general rule, the more specific the song that you're trying to effect, the less likely it is we can make that song as a one-shot generation solely through the use of complex prompting.

That said, I'd say that these are all similar keywords to what I'd use, but perhaps using extensions to separate the verses that you want presented differently could prevent any prompts from effecting all verses

If you click the "Extend" button, or ... > create > extend, the feature defaults to extending onto the end of the song, but you can specify that it should start earlier -- essentially allowing you to "reroll" the later portions of a song you don't like.

This means that you can place the timestamp for an extension just before the verse starts, then use different style prompts than what you used in the first segment -- later you can use an option called "Get Whole Song" on the extensions to stitch them all together for free 💪

Suno can work with text written in natural language, as you wrote that. But you might find even better success with a more minimal format that more narrowly focused on the key terms. And often helps to position the description near the verses you want them to describe, rather than all up front. I also recommend if the prompts don't seem to be sticking, try repeating (spamming, really) them. Literally copying and pasting a line of brackets multiple times.

This song is inspired by Timbaland's and Aaliyah's styles. The production should feature:

• Timbaland-Style Background: Syncopated, intricate beats with a deep bassline, layered percussive textures, and atmospheric synths to add depth and mood.

All that said, the act of using long natural language sentences in a very large block before your song lyrics will influence the music in some way. Typically it's more subtle and less predictable, so I don't recommend it for users looking to get better control of their music. But I always encourage experimentation. You might notice many of my songs actually use much longer blocks of "not meant to be sung" text than this example. But I do that not expecting Suno so follow my instructions very closely, and in fact, I often do it on purpose to try and confuse the Suno model to get more unusual ouputs. For example, Suno can sometimes mix up or blend an instrument and a human voice, where you hear them both at the same time, and it sounds like a hybrid between a voice and an instrument. One way to prompt this is to intentionally use long confusing prompts.

I do think there is a plausible case to be made for "front loading" a lot of stuff in front of the lyrics, despite what I just said. It's based on vibes and not good testing, but my general feeling is I often do want to change the starting point of the Suno model, metaphorically, and sometimes a giant block of weird text does seem to help with that. But as I mentioned, the value in more specific to my tastes, and not typical for users looking for better control of their songs.

If you look through work flows you can find some work arounds I think. Best trick I have is removing unnecessary spaces. Also adding bridges and solos between the verse it repeats works sometimes. There was a workflow thread about using "***" before the verse prompt but I haven't tried it yet.

Yea, so it is like the encoder is leaving leftovers, but I only know Audio encoding not synthesized creations encoding. It is easy to hear where the encoding is not the best quality at many times anyway, I'd assume they would use a VBR and then a song created digitally wouldn't take up the same resources as one created with CBR. Still the high end like hats, symbols, anything that hits that area just sounds like garbled noise. Like a cymbal was instead someone hitting a really small saw with a mallet

Not unheard of -- the biggest impacting factor on the output is what we use as input, so it's likely that what's being used as lyrics & style of music are impacting the length of the song.

Essentially you can have up to 20 songs processing at once before it makes you wait

I've found some success with "acapella" or "a cappella" -- this is all entirely subjective, but I find the first, anglicized spelling, "acapella" seems to suggest the vocal harmonies while still including other instrumentals.

The traditional italian spelling "a cappella" seems to lean more toward choirs, vocal percussion, etc., but I've still gotten instruments with that as well -- Suno "vibes" with almost anything we give it, opposed to obeying all input as hard-coded commands.

Likely Suno will be seeking action against these kinds of company and this is one method to dissuade users and let them know that they may be getting ripped off compared to the Suno prices (and that they do not have the rights to give you for those songs)

Anyone know of any persona tip/trick videos? I know the feature just came out but still wanted to ask.

Some songs are restricted -- I would guess if they stemmed from an upload? There might be other reasons, but you may need to contact [e-mail] for clarification.

I didn't find as much success with Personas as I was hoping to during the alpha testing, but admittedly I couldn't stop using Covers. @teal raft was really into personas, and might have a couple words of advice

Is there a reason why I sometimes only get 2:00 minute songs instead of 3-4 minute songs even if I activated v3.5?

Luck of the draw -- v3.5 is optimized for song structure, and depending on the lyrics & style prompts used, sometimes it genuinely believes that the song was meant to end there 🤷‍♂️

Unfortunately since things vary so much from case-to-case, there's no hard & fast rule for ensuring you get longer songs (except maybe adding more lyrics to be sung, or using similar prompting methods for instrumentals (//\///\//\///\ for example), but it might just take a couple generations (unless you notice that EVERY result is shorter, than it might be worth changing your prompt)

Does it work for uploaded audios? Anyone try that yet? Obviously would be automatically set to private I suppose?

I could then run a few outputs until one sound close to my voice and original audio upload then use that on my new songs as a singing voice? I have a terrible voice but maybe it will pitch correct a little and give me a 4 octave range. Lol. Yes....!

From what I can tell is it at the moment is nothing more than a hot swap status, I thought since it had its own description that you could use it to not have to put anything with Vocals in the style, and then use another song to create vocals with nothing but description. However, as it stands if I use the Persona and change the style then it just goes nuts.

All I've done is run a sample auto-lyric thing, but yea, had the same style as before, "big band"... so the Bublé like vocal carried to the new suno song. That much was cool.

Like you say, I'm not sure it would work if he sang death metal perhaps?

So...hmmm.... can this work on hallucinated vocals as well, or are those even vocals. Maybe babble-vocals are considered instruments to suno?

It almost worked once, but then the song I got the vocals from ended up poking through. Which was weird. Definitely needs some work.

Some babble- voices sound great, and some are highly dialectic speaking voices. I'll capture them and see if they can sing too? Think...think...think

Dunno, it is interesting they chose to make public default. Still I hope that they made some adjustments to the whole leftover Reverb stacking or whatever the flanger insanity is that gets crazy by the end of the song.

You would need to cover the song first, then try to apply it, but I am unsure how it will work. So far everything I have done has come out slow and insane when I change the prompt brought in by the persona.

It is more possible than anything. In fact the song tries to stay the same so it will make a Duet throughout if you mix the vocals.

Agreed, however, I managed to put the power Vocals that came from a persona to decent use. I remixed a song of mine and extended it over and over because the whole persona thing is a little crazy. Here is the result.

Well that is subjective...lol, I like what I got done, but the feature is about as unpredictable as cover, so in reality, no not yet, but damn it give some strong vocals and clear

Well here is the issue, I thought it was a gimmick at first. Then I managed to pull out some powerful clear vocals from it, but only once. I think the issue is Tempo, they seemed to have released the feature but with the song left attached rather than stemming it in the background. SUNO would be able to manipulate it more if it didn't have to scramble through a second song playing underneath at a different BPM

Only once though, every other time it screwed up, which makes it basically a load out button. Which would do nothing but remove the variety from your songs.

The way I think it is supposed to work would be no longer needing to describe the vocals in style, giving the whole 120 characters for the style and 120 for the vocals done in a separate track.

Agreed. It isn't. I do know it carries more weight than lyrics, but with nothing in it then that puts all the weight in lyrics which would work out better if they allowed weighted prompts in lyrics

Suno beta stuff seems to be more like alpha, that said, what they have done so far is impressive, but cover and persona need a good amount of work.

Why do I get a clip got stuck while generating on some of my earlier songs? They're extremely good, one of my favorite, but I can't cover it or create a persona because it gets stuck. How to fix this? They're made with V2.

You mean , of commercial music you already hear on radio? There are a number of sites to do that for popular songs. Search "music genre finder" to get started.

I've enjoy "audio ai dynamics" which does a number of things: weighs the genre by %. Key, Camelot for mixing, BPM. Helpful at least and seems to read the suno songs well.

BTW, it says it uses 400 genres and subgenres, so I don't know if it gets into atmospheric or emo and such. So far though, I'll admit it seems to be more simpler genres weighed.
