To be fair to the prompter, I had lyrics already and asked it to generate using them in the style. I was hoping it would generate something in the style, give me some instruments and lay it out accordingly. It gave me what you see I pasted above. Then I tried asking it to adapt the words to fit the style and its usual formatting. It created completely original lyrics and did not significantly change the formatting.

I used it straight with the same lyrics as last time. I added the suggested genres to the ones already there since they were compatible (IMHO) and added catchy hook. It gave me only musicals. I am going to do my usual editing with metatags to see if I can coax it to sing with some adaptation...

@silver mason It should work to adapt existing lyrics a little better now after my tweaking - but original intended for complete song genration based on your "idea / image / thought / song cover or vibe recreation"... However it should play better with Lyrics now. I really like purely instrumental tracks for a lot of things, I asked for an instrumental track that's reminiscent of Sonic the Hedgehog's Casino Night Run -

Thanks for the post. I'll try some of these. It would be nice if Suno would create a guide and tell us what works and what doesn't based on their programming. But, I know they're busy developing this further and it's already working well for me just using the well known [X] prompts. Once they finish the site design, fix some glitches and improve the audio quality, everything could change for songwriters. It's turbocharged my writing process as is and changed my opinion of what AI might mean for composers from negative to potentially very positive.

Yeah, same, I've tried AI sound enhancers but those seem to only work well on non music audio. I feel like the AI singers sound very tinny alot of times, with some higher pitched frequencies in there for no reason. Still pretty good but could use some improvement or at least some tools included to adust it/smooth it out somehow.

I know dudesy uses AI to create his stuff, including the AI George Carlin special, but their app is "secret" and even podcast with Will Sasso and Chad Kultgen are under an NDA where they can't say the name of the company that made it. I wonder if there are any other AI audio apps that specialize in AI comedy with laugh tracks and everything

What started out as a joke, morphed into something cool.
What I do is start with simple mode (something I pretty much never use) and start with this prompt:
A stand up comedy album, include laughter from audience and jokes, no music, no singing, spoken word only, ambient sound only, joke is about
Then I add what the subject is. In this case piracy. Then I add to it tell a funny story about which I use to expand the topic. In this case the topic was something about the R I A A freaking out about downloading and Limewire giving Internet S T D after that generated in simple mode, I then continued it and repasted the above prompt and added describe the infamous "You wouldn't download a car" commercial and tell a funny story about desperately trying to do just that. "Think of how cool it would have been!" After that I pressed the Generate Lyrics button and tried until I found something I liked and changing the style to spoken word comedy, storytelling, quiet environment, audience laughter, no music continued it. Then again with the above and added joke is about the internet, tell a funny story about trying to download the latest song off kazaa on dialup but your sister keeps trying to make a phone call. then hit Generate Lyrics again until I liked it and continued it.
One thing to definitely keep in mind is to always end on laughter or it will decide it's done and refuse to continue. Also bear in mind that this is definitely abusing the software, it wants to sing, not do spoken word. That's why the change in the style is so important. After the first simple generation it will fight you.
Any way this is the entire workflow. For those who might be interested in such a thing, I hope it is useful for others trying this out.

I'm a poet and I've noticed it response 10x better to quality free verse for example than a shitty one that rhymes

Overall Example of dodging Chirp music quality degradation on longer songs, if you are willing to give up musical consistency or preserving the same voices and just roam all over the place. When you "get whole clip" it combines all the indivual song clip prompts into one giant text box, so it looks a little silly. (That is like 30 or 40 clips, I forget how many.) But if you watch the video it should be clear.
And in the longer single clip prompts, often [brackets] or (directions) are not sung but skipped over, and it still gets to the end of the text prompt, even with a lot of text.
However, I do think sometimes using too much text is also an interesting tool, and has an effect, even if Chirp never reaches half way through the text. I base this partly on songs in Chirp, but also in Bark, where I am certain this does have an effect (and often use it to make voices.) It also makes hallucinations a lot more likely so it's not something I recommend practically, unless you are not trying to get very specific lyrics, and are okay with hallucinated verses.

Oh maybe you meant audio context. The audio context is not that long, yeah, less than one clip. So if you want to keep repeating something (a chorus, a common line) perfectly the same in a long song you have to make sure to keep coming back to it in every clip. (Maybe you can skip one, if the clip is very short, but not if it's a full minute.)

fyi the technique I used here was:
- Get a good Chirp with Suno.
- "Continue from this Song" like 300 times, getting lots of variations. Sometimes forking off to Part 3 and 4.
- Once I had enough material, create stems of like 50 of them.

One thing I've noticed about making Chirps.
Suno seems to start songs at the "second verse" almost every single time. Adding [Intro] helps, but is far from foolproof.
The issue with this creates a fundamental disconnect between the user's intent, and the suno "songwriting ai".
Where the user is thinking they are working on the first verse, whereas suno is giving that first verse a second verse kind of vibe.
When the user then continues from the Chirp, and adds a second verse, the AI thinks you're moving towards the end of the song, often into bridge territory. So the way it presents your intended second verse, is much more consistent with the vibe of a bridge.
By the time the user goes to continue to the Final Chorus, Suno already thinks the song is ending, and often refuses to even perform the Chorus a third or fourth time, seeking instead to draw the song to close with an outro at best, or at worst, transitioning to a new song entirely.
Any thoughts on this problem? Am I the only one facing this?

One thing I'm doing in the final versions is running them through ripxdaw, and creating intros that way. Just extending my a couple of seconds.
Another thing I'll do is write the first word with meter that's a little off to trigger a short hallucination at the beginning of the song.

The method I've used for most of the songs I've released at this point is:
- Write the lyrics in collaboration with chatGPT4, often fine tuning a lot.
- Making sure the syllabic count of verse 2 is identical to verse 1, that way Suno is more likely to use the same melody both times.
- Once I have a solid 3-4 minutes of material, I extract the stems with demucs.
- Put the song into my DAW, and then by ear, recreate the entire instrumental track, trying to find synths in Reason 10 that match as close as possible to the Chirp.
- Once I've recreated the entire song (I do this because the audio fidelity of suno just isn't commercial grade), I then sing the vocal part into my mic, and correct my pitch (because I suck)
- Run my vocal part through Lalals AI to change to my consistent artist's voice.
- Run the final track through Landr AI Mastering

It constantly writes lyrics using terms like "Neon Lights", "In this world", etc.

Wow, I'm really impressed. How did you manage to improve the vocals. I use stems on a DAW but all I'm able to do is change the volume, add compression and reverb and echo. However, that does not improve the vocals that much. I still have complaints about autotune!

The process is essentially.
Extract the stems for vocals, drums, bass, and other.
Identify the exact beats per minute of the song and set the snap tempo to that.
Put them stems into a reason project.
Usually starting with the baseline, go through and create the entire bass part from ear (this is easy because it's just one voice).
Go through and recreate the drums (also pretty easy)
Go through and recreate all the other instruments and sounds, adding as necessary. (This takes a long time and lots of experimentation with sounds in reason)
Add extra swell, risers, etc.
Record the vocals manually then transform them using Lalals to my artist's voice.
Go through and add specific panned reverb/echo to certain key words of the vocals to add emphasis and stereo field to them.
Add subtle harmonies when necessary to the vocals, usually making them panned to the sides, and with different EQ.
Mixdown the project.
Master in Landr AI.
Done.

Unbelievable. I'm old, and I used to do this competitions with my old community called OCRemix/VGMix back in the day called kwakfests. Basically we all got into an IRC channel, and you had 30 minutes to make a complete videogame style original MIDI from the ground up. There was this guy there named Virt (Jake Kaufman) and he could literally make something like this by hand in 30 minutes. This sounds like his style.

It's interesting. I figured out that you can use suno to composite genres in the genre prompt. So what I'm doing is "a poppy dance dance song with a reggae ska beat". 🙂 Sometimes it works beautifully, sometimes not so much. Mixing country and punk in a pop song sometimes gets you this fun vocaloid effect. I have no idea why, lol.

yeah, depending on the words or the genre there is a FUNDAMENTAL flaw in how suno starts a song. it rarely starts from BAR 1. or even BAR 9. but again, I'm actually cool with that...because the closer it gets to PERFECTION the more the INDUSTRY will try to shut it down (once the general populace is aware of existence)...the more rough it stays as a tool the easier it is to use a tool and workflow companion. regardless of MICROSOFT'S involvement (which means it will be a universal tool in less than 18 months). I think it would actually be better as a plugin in a DAW...at least more controllable

So this one is by far the most technically challenging audio neural bend I've ever done.
It's actually my 4th attempt at doing it without completely busting suno. The experiment was to see if I could take apart an old ibm manual, and convert it into a working song. But then the source material went on this long rant about dinosaurs, and I just couldn't help myself. And what happened next was me doing weird things with meter that break the calculator, and forcing the system to look for context clues where it wouldn't normally.

I liked it overall. I do think that somewhere between the bridge and the last chorus it lost the stuff in the prior chorus. I don't know if it went out of context and couldn't call back up that same emotive singing and music or what?
If you intended the last chorus to be different in tone than the rest then disregard. I do like the song.

I've been using a Suno gen as inspiration and stemmed temp vocals to write a son...
I've been doing something similar, using moises.ai to split the tracks I generated on suno.ai into separate stems. I import those into a music software (I'm using Reaper) and can remix it all as I can see fit. For example, generating an instrumental with an emphasis on electric guitar, isolating the guitar and sprinkling it throughout the song.
You also avoid the loss of quality you get as you chain together continuations of songs. Most of the takes I generated are from the first iteration, so the voices doesn't get all indistinct and melodies don't subtly change in unwanted ways.

should look into RipX DAW, never seen anything quite like it. It breaks the songs out by stem but then goes further to layer the stems by frequency which you can manipulate however you see fit. Its great for Suno when the voice starts getting choppy or just weird, typically you can find its just replicating on a different frequency and just remove it

So this is an odd song lol. I wasn't going for this style at first then I let her go haha. But Velvet is a small black chow dog that had almost a kind of purple sheen or glow to her fur. It was my late Aunt's baby girl. I was the only male this dog ever let pet her. I could pick her up with no issues. But nobody else except her kids. Anyways...
