OpenAI Whisper hallucinates "Thanks for watching." so that alone could explain it, and presumably the reason it hallucinates that is because it's a super super common YouTube video phrase, so that also could explain it. subtitles well, I'm assuming that's like a parsing error in some file. Like it writes [subtitles[ instead of [subtitles] in some training data. Makes sense, presumably it was trained on subtitles.

I'm just speculating since I don't actually know anything about how it was trained, but presumably some songs don't have lyrics and the training process uses a tool like Whisper to try and add lyrics, or improve the quality lyrics, so in the song lyrics it accidentally writes "Thanks for watching" sometimes.

Got a weird issue with the subscription. I did a month of premier subscription and cancelled before the renewal and it correctly shows the cancellation date of Jan. 13 2024. When I try to renew the subscription or change the plan it says it will do so on the same date which appears to fail because the date is in the past. Having trouble with generating simply because "I can't stand losing you" is in the lyrics. The error about not being able to generate songs by known artists pops up. There are probably 10K songs using that phrase. When I changed it to "I can't take losing you", it worked. But I want to use "stand", not "take". No, I'm having the same issue. I create a part 1 with a verse. Then I continue from that clip and put in a bridge and a 2nd, different verse but, every time now, it ignores the new lyrics and creates a Part 2 with the exact same lyrics as Part 1. So now I have a Part 1 and a Part 2 with the exact same lyrics. A couple of times it's just repeated the last line of Part 1's lyrics several times, skipped the bridge lyrics i wrote for Part 2, and then done part of the 2nd verse. And twice now, it's ended the song within the first 10 seconds of Part 1 (with none of the new lyrics), gone dead silent for 10-ish seconds, and then started a completely new song in a different genre with no lyrics at all. AND I got the "Thanks for watching" popped up randomly in the middle of a verse. There something wack going on with Suno today...

In addition to it being pretty much impossible to "continue from this clip" without it just repeating the lyrics from Part 1 no matter what I write in the lyric box for part 2, I'm also running into the issue of the "unique content only" filter being WAY too sensitive. I've had it block almost everything I've tried to generate for a song today and when I've drilled down to find out which phrases are causing the flags, they've turned out to be fairly generic three word phrase - e.g. "sick of you," "I'll punish you," etc. - that apparently appear in the middle of a longer line in a rap song or something (and probably a ton of other songs in various genres). The filter really needs to be set to look for longer phrases, not sets of three or four words because flagging phrases that short is going to make it almost impossible to write anything at all and have it generate (but it sure is eating all my credits).

It's probably on the Suno side, nothing to do with your computer. You should have gotten the credits refunded (at least that's how its supposed to work)

You can't do that yet. For the moment, initial clips are always random from the pool that matches your prompts. The only way you can "sort of" do what you're asking is to continue from the clip with the style that you like, then use an audio editor to cut the stuff off the beginning you don't want. This doesn't always work.

I've seen "lost credits" on failed generations, however it seems to be a presentation issue. Once I update the page again, I see that "lost" credits are restored. However, those were from "short" generations which clearly states "credits refunded" or something similar to that. While I saw no refunds at first, I saw them on reloading the page.

This is somewhere between a bug and a suggestion. The AI should have a context larger than the last generated part, as I'm sure it's set up now. Meaning, I want to be able to have like 1 minute with no chorus and then expect the bot to remember what the chorus was. To replicate this: create a first clip, with a chorus. Then, continue a second clip with no chorus. Then, get the whole song. Then continue the whole song and place the chorus. The bot never sings it the same as in the first clip probably because it doesn't remember it. For me, this is a huge negative point, I have to repeat the chorus often so the bot doesn't forget it. Also, wasted credits before I realized what was happening.

i've had some success avoiding that by putting [instrumental] or [guitar solo] or whatever after my verse and chorus, so that even if it finishes those within the first generation it will then continue with instruments instead of assuming the song should immediately be finished

and, for one that started just beautifully and flawlessly but then faded to a stop at the end, i managed to get it to continue by faking a drop lol

i just told it to continue repeatedly with the instruction [break] [drop] [instrumental], generating about a dozen refunded 5 second continuations until one of them had a scrap of something that sounded like music at the end, then i could continue from that one as normal

of course, that only worked for my one because i was going for a very experimental triphop sound to begin with, so having a garbled glitchy break/drop after the first verse didn't sound too unusual, it wouldn't work if you're doing a lot of genres

Hey all. Something has been up with the verse calculator the last week or so. It's forcing me to write my songs in a new way, and freaking out over little meter changes it never had a problem with before. If the meter breaks, it's slowing down the songs and ignoring genre and tempo prompting. And I can't re-render older compositions that worked just fine before the change.

It's also way more hallucination prone than it used to be. Not a problem for some of the weird experimental hallucination based art I do. But I don't think that's a desirable effect in most use cases. I would say, depending on the piece, I'm getting anywhere between 30-50% hallucinated lyrics

The web and discord Chirp models are current different. Web is V2, Discord is V1. You can't continue V1 with V2. They will eventually both be on the same version. I'm not actually sure if you can sitch Discord V1 on the web, but that may also not work. Let me test V1 heart quick right now thoug

V2 is higher quality in general, btw, so I usually recommend people the web at the moment. (Though there are some niches where V1 is better, like changing genres during a song)

If remix also doesn't work, there must be something in the prompt that is causing it to end the song right away. Are you sure remix isn't working? A remix will not say "part 2" on it, it will be part 1.

If it's just continue that isn't working, the problem is just bad luck in the part 1 clip. In future (next version?) there may be a way to rescue the clip and do a better continue without this problem. But for now it may not be fixable.

Only use one and it’s apparently properly linked. I think it must be a bug because it says I have a Basic Plan and a Premier Plan at the same time. For example, listing my plan as Premier, but showing 50/50 credits.

(Alternatively it's limited by the number of segments, I didn't check if never combining more than a few clips at once, using "get whole clip" at regular intervals, wasn't limited.)

It works best if the song is new (not a continue) and then add "male vocals" to your music style. "heartfelt country, male vocals" for example. You can also repeat it, "heartfelt country, male vocals, male vocals, male, male" which does often make it more likely, however, it can also make the music a bit strange sometimes. So I usually prefer to use it once, maybe twice, and then just try again if it doesn't work. If you are not starting a new song and you want to change the singer from female to male a continue, you probably DO have to repeat "male" many times in the style prompt though, or it will rarely ever work. Even so you have to get lucky to change it.

@lucid basin so weird, that's one of the fascinating parts of dabbling with AI imo- we are often putting in silly lyrics to test things out, so it just makes us laugh more when a normal word gets mispronounced, but we've definitely seen it happen sometimes too! We discovered the "sound it out" approach when we wanted to refer to an obscure character named Jedediah (rather than the slightly more mainstream Jebediah) - the AI did not like having to pronounce that at all, lol

Assuming that it's a genuine glitch (which it sounds like it could be) try adding several lines of indeterminate length of spaces at the end of your lyrics. Add some adlibs (oh--, yeah!, etc) at various points as appropriate. Add metatags to the end for instrumentals or just make up tags, its about changing the profile of the song so that the AI will see it as something different than whatever it is that it is blocking.

From my experience its happening because ai doesn't understand what you meant. Best audio and song quality comes from simple promts

For example if you are trying to fit more lyrics into the promt, it sometimes doesn't work as expected

Or if you are trying to do something with [Intro] meta tag, intro usually breaks the song for me

One more case is that there is no flow between your lyrics

For example if you don't have the same number of syllables in lines it breaks. you can get away with 2 more, but usually when the number of syllables is more than +2 or a plus odd number

I've written 7 'pages' of songs with Suno AI and up until today, I found the technology magical and amazing.

I was just about to pay for a subscription, when I attempted to use my 50 free credits...and the tech just completely failed.

Just about everything was wrong and useless. COMPLETELY useless...not even close: Lyrics were COMPLETELY Wrong. The Language was COMPLETELY Wrong. In fact, I'm not even sure it was an actual language. And the Song Continuation was useless, try, after try, after try.

I'm a composer of music and I do NOT expect perfection...to date, your tech has WAY exceeded my expectations.

But something is going wrong (today) and I have no idea where to turn.

I don't expect you to reply to this or to change anything relevant to my specific case...I just want someone to know that I am VERY reluctant to plunk down $10/$30 bucks for a technology that is completely useless to my purposes.

Perhaps it's something that went wrong today...if so, perhaps you could make that clear on your website. Perhaps you did and I didn't see it.

In any case, I wanted someone to know that something changed and is now (today, at least) very wrong.

For a really good song, I had to go thru more than 100 generations to get a perfect song. I think the problem is that you have too high hopes for the ai. Like I said, in the end everything is completely random, for you to get perfect songs from few tries is really lucky

I am sure you use a service liks AWS or something like that. And load balance could be off for instance.

And just to reiterate what I've said before: I know music composition, I had VERY low expectations for Suno AI, and for 7 'pages' of song creation on the website, it VASTLY exceeded ALL expectations...by a LONG shot. Like I said, it was pure magic. And then yesterday, EVERY response was worse, which is generally acceptable, given the cutting edge tech...But 'worse' is one thing: Most of the responses were complete NONSENSE...they did not follow my lyrics, nor did they seem to be in English (or ANY real language). I'll DM you with bot responses that were bad, but definitely not the worst (which, again, I trashed). Thanks again for your help!

Uh-oh. I think the AI might have become sentient and is tired of making music for us. My last 5 or 6 generations have had the AI ignore my lyrics completely and just yell "I'm not sure if I'm gonna be able to do this" repeatedly over the music for a full minute. Several of the generations were almost identical and, man, the AI sounded like it needed a good, stiff drink. Or maybe already had a few...

Not sure if this is a thing, but it sometimes feels like the hallucinations and lyric-ignoring happen more often when the genre or band(s) the AI is referencing typically have a different structure than the lyrics being input. For instance, if I'm trying to create a metal song with a single verse going into a bridge followed by a chorus in a spot where a typical song in the metal sub-genre being referenced would instead have a second verse, the AI will more often than not ignore my lyrics and stick in a second verse with either gibberish lyrics or random/stolen lyrics. After a BUNCH of generations, I might get lucky and get it to generate one that does what I'm trying to do (structure-wise, not sound-wise) but it seems like the AI really, REALLY wants to do the usual thing instead.

Also, when the AI has gotten stuck in some weird issue while trying to Continue from a clip - e.g. no lyrics, wrong lyrics, repeating lyrics from previous generations instead of what's in the lyric box currently, getting the right lyrics but with some random melody that hasn't appeared in the song so far, hallucinating, etc. - I've had some luck getting it back on track by closing the Discord, reopening it, and re-pasting in the lyrics, re-Continuing from Clip, and just starting sort of fresh from the same spot. It's not foolproof but it's worked for me a couple of times. Could be luck but it was pretty coincidental that it righted itself briefly immediately after a refresh each time after many, many broken generations before the refresh. Something to try anyway...

After one or two gens that are decent (or at least semi-working), I'm getting a lot of that "I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to do this!" shouted over the music. Could that be an error message that the AI is sending in response to the request and is subsequently misinterpreting as a lyric? Like if your hard drive started screaming "File not found!" at you over and over again? Maybe something for the Suno devs to look into...

If you're sure that it's a glitch and not related to any of the issues listed here, there is a workaround you can try.

Add several lines of spaces, some metatags to the end of the verses, and see if that helps. Try to make sure it's at the end of the stuff you actually want to generate. You're trying to change the profile of the song as seen by the AI, not generate what ever a [throbbing vein] may be. You can also add adlibs to various appropriate sections of your verses, (oh, yeah, baby, ah---, etc) and this will help change the profile as well.

If you continue from the same clip and keep getting the same problem, no matter the prompt, the problem is unfortunately something you can't fix with a prompt. It means there is something in that clip 2 that is causing the AI to do that behavior, regardless of what you prompt. In a future version of Suno (not too far away, I hope?) you will be able to customize the time of clip 3 and with trial and error you will have a reasonably good chance of being able to continue that clip more successfully.

Some advice I keep repeating is: if you keep getting a bad result continuing from a very specific clip, do not keep trying and wasting credits. Even I make this mistake because sometimes you want that next clip so bad. But it is the fastest way to lose credits. I think the website interface could even print a warning message about this - it is very common for this to happen.

I will also repost this on the related general concept of Suno music randomness (and non-randomness):

As far as I know everything in Suno Music is the same from day to day, there are not small adjustments being made to make things better or worse, even though it often feels like that.

My guess is that what's happening is random variation, but maybe not in a way that is obvious, because the type and quality of music you get depends a lot on the song (the prompts, and the history) you are working on.

If you are continuing from the same specific clip, there is a much smaller range of outputs for the music the AI makes compared to a fresh song. A continued clip is highly dependent on the clip it's continuing from. If by pure random chance the previous clip is trending things into the not-so-great-range, it feels like 'every' song you make is not-so-great that day.

The same dynamic applies (though less so) at the prompt level even on fresh songs. If you have a style and lyrics prompt in mind, and keep retrying that prompt, it may feel like all the songs you make just aren't hitting now. It's not like that prompt is bad - it's ultimately just random chance that that particular prompt/style tends to yield less great results.

Instead, if you had generated 10 completely fresh songs with 10 completely different prompts (style and lyrics) you would get a range of quality over those 10 songs that is consistently the same.. But when we use Suno Music, we rarely use it like that, writing 10 completely fresh prompts every time. Typically people are working on a song, or at least a concept for a song, making smaller tweaks, but they don't radically change the prompt every time they generate. So at any particular project, at any particular moment, you are in a smaller set of possible outputs, and sometimes that subset is more less satisfactory than others. And at those times it feels like Chirp is having a bad day.

The first scenario (continuing from the same specific segment) is the much more significant one. If continuing from one particular clip repeatedly feels like it always is terrible, don't keep throwing good credits after bad. It's better to abandon that branch, and back up a clip, even though it feels bad. In my 25 minute song I had to go back 8 clips at one point, ouch.

I have no complaints about whether the AI-generated random results are good or bad for my taste. I don't comment on that. Please report bugs related to Suno Music system errors. Randomly generated songs within the range of the prompts are a natural result. The errors I point out are when the song is written in a completely different direction from the prompt, lyrics, or music style, or when a different voice is inserted. Of course, if errors continue to occur, stopping composing may be a way to protect my credits. However, reporting errors is a necessary action and helps the development of Suno Music. However, if an error occurred, I think the credits spent on the report should be compensated.

Rather than acting to avoid errors based on the guesses of experts who know AI well, we should focus on solving the problem so that even people who do not know AI well can clearly identify the scope of the error and easily understand it. Otherwise, you're just paying the credits and gambling until you create a song that doesn't suffer from bugs. If the error cannot be resolved, the appropriate course of action is to use the credit when the desired song is created or choose to refund the credit for the song with the error. I think this is an appropriate measure for Sunoh Music to move in a better direction.

Simply understanding and avoiding the problem is not enough. The criteria for using Suno Music in the future will depend on how Suno Music addresses and compensates for the feedback regarding the specific issue, and how it plans to rectify it.

IMO issues related to music keywords, instruments, lyrics etc are not bugs but may be caused by a lack of prompt engineering understanding of the user. Instrumentals, pops at the start and degrading quality in continuation are bugs and should be addressed by the team. Although frustrating, and not knowing your budget, for Suno to put resources into refunding these individual cases would be a negative investment. Spend your resources more wisely in improving the.models and fixing the bugs. I think even with the hit and miss it's an incredible value for money. Just whish I can make it to the outro more often ...

Why do I feel that you are misunderstanding and misjudging my problem? This is because we do not accurately understand the context of the problem to simply dismiss it as an engineering mistake. As Part 2 progresses from Part 3, relevant bug information has been posted above. If the bug was my mistake, the same error should have occurred between parts 1 and 2, but since that didn't happen, it would be wrong to say there was a problem with my prompt. The answer goes beyond the essence of what I want to convey. There is no problem with parts 1 and 2. Among the problems that arise in the next part of Part 3, this is about bugs that always occur. Isn't it wrong to think that an untyped Korean voice saying "Subscriptions and likes are a big help" is a problem with my engineering?

When reporting bugs in a system, what you say is often misinterpreted and heard. If you think it's my lack of prompting and lack of engineering, bugs like this will continue to occur in the future. I used Suno to create three finished songs and composed them as I always did. This answer rather obscures the point by assuming that problems encountered while creating a song are due to the user's lack of engineering experience.

👍 You aren't doing anything wrong. Song "hallucinations" (this problem is called hallucinations in audio AI, meaning the AI is not following the text prompt) is not a mistake in your prompt.

Clip 3 depends on two different inputs.

1. Clip 3 text prompt: style and lyrics
2. Clip 2 audio data.

Sometimes even if you completely change the Clip 3 text prompt, Clip 3 always has the same hallucination. This means the cause of the problem is only #2. The problem can not fixed with #1 - a different Clip 3 prompt. I'm sure Suno is trying to improve this (I think this is a challenging problem though.) The only thing I can do is tell people to watch out for this pattern.

So a quick way to check this is to see if you can manually type anything additional into the field. If you cannot you have too many characters in the field. Same for the style prompt. You can paste more into the field than can actually be worked with.

It goes in an out of completely bombing on everything I put in, in terms of generated prompting. I've mostly stopped using the lyric generator. I don't know how they did put together the moderation system, but best guess is that it's a mix of fuzzy matching and llm, probably dolphin or similar, and also probably layered, which is how you build those. Then it polls, and comes out with results. Problem is, that the severity settings are all over the place, and they need to work on that. By the way, Suno staff, I know how to do that. Happy to help.

Obviously, the intention is to flag lyrics that show up in existing songs so you're not "stealing" lyrics from copyrighted works - which makes sense - but the problem seems to be the granularity. In my experience, it appears to be flagging phrases as short as three words, meaning any common phrase that has ever shown up in another song often gets flagged. E.g. I kept getting flagged for the phrase "sick of you" because it showed up in some artist's song. I got continually flagged for "watch what you say" because that phrase showed up in some famous rapper's song. Just now, I got flagged a bunch of times for "that's alright with me." The only way I've found to get around it is, when you get flagged, rewrite your lyrics phonetically (e.g. instead of "watch what you say" write "watsh watt yoo sae"). In the long term, though, the better solution is for Suno to only flag lyrics that are at least two lines that match another source. Otherwise, it's going to be very difficult to write anything that isn't straight gibberish.

Yeah, I'm getting random lyrics a lot more than I used to. For instance, the other day, I kept getting "I don't think I'm gonna be able to do that" and tonight I keep getting "I'm gonna be your friend," neither of which appear in the lyrics I've written into the field. In both cases, the AI ignores my lyrics and just repeats that one random phrase over and over for the entirety of the generation. About half the time, it not only ignores my lyrics, it creates no vocals and just returns instrumentals. And, more and more often, if I "Continue From This Clip" with anything, it ignores the new lyrics I've written for the continuation and instead just repeats the lyrics from the previous generation over and over, despite them being erased from the lyric field. There's always been a certain amount of luck required to get a good generation but it definitely feels like it's gotten worse recently. Sometimes it's better than others but, this morning, I'm struggling to get much of anything that's usable. Meanwhile, just burning through those credits with nothing to show for it....

I'm actually having the opposite problem. About half my generations end up being instrumental despite the lyrics I've written in the field. If it helps you, though, I'll mention that one way to almost guarantee an instrumental is to put an [Intro] tag at the beginning and add an instrument to it. E.g. If I put something like [Intro, guitar] or [Intro, catchy guitar riff], the AI decides that what I want is a fully instrumental song with a guitar as the lead and it ignores any lyrics I put after that [Intro] block. First back up the lyrics in your entry fields, then refresh the page to see if the credits are there but not displaying.

Second you may need to try going back up the chain to an earlier segment you liked and continuing from there instead of where you are now if the AI thinks the song has ended already due to a break in the music.

I’ve been using the same chorus for this whole song and suddenly it says it’s probably copyrighted when I try to continue from where it cut off in the middle of the chorus. The copyright errors get exhausting. I can get it to go through if I chop the first line off but it’s not continuing properly, and if I put [continue] instead of [chorus] which sometimes works it throws an error.

If none of them do you may have a glitch, for which there are some workarounds.

Assuming that it's a genuine glitch (which it sounds like it could be) try adding several lines of indeterminate length of spaces at the end of your lyrics. Add some adlibs (oh--, yeah!, etc) at various points as appropriate. Add metatags to the end for instrumentals or just make up tags, its about changing the profile of the song so that the AI will see it as something different than whatever it is that it is blocking.

Just discovered that Suno doesn't know how to pronounce "automatism" gets it right one in eleven times

I've yet to get it to correctly pronounce "dirigibles." It nails all the rhymes (e.g. pillageables, fill-uppable, syrupable, and gear-uppable, several of which aren't even actual words) but dirigibles comes out like Simlish every time. Even spelling it phonetically in a dozen different ways doesn't help. I eventually gave up and moved on to another song.

If you're paying for a Pro account and not sharing the songs on the Discord, moderating the language like we're children kind of sucks.

The word that suno didn't like was the word "or**zm". I don’t see anything so terrible in this word at all. After I deleted it and rephrased it, it worked. Strange rules, there can be no restrictions in creativity, that’s what creativity is for.

That is a weird one. Have you tried rewriting it as "bal-lay" or something? I can imagine the "bal" part will still be tough. You'll probably get a lot of generations with a soft 'a' (like "ball") rather than the hard 'a' but writing your lyrics phonetically is always worth a try when the AI is struggling. You should see some of my more troublesome verses. I've occasionally had to spell so many words phonetically to avoid flags and mispronunciations that it looked like the lyrics were spelled out by the cheesiest 80s glam metal band. Or Prince.

I've had that go both ways. Sometimes adding [Verse] (or some other tag) has helped. Other times, it was the tag that was the problem. E.g. for a while, I was using [Verse, guitar, short] and it worked decently. Then, just the other day, I started getting flagged. After changing every lyric, rewriting phonetically, etc. and still getting flagged, I finally discovered that changing the tag back to just [Verse] fixed it. Another time, [Verse] was getting flagged and I had to add something to the tag to make it work. The AI is super inconsistent.

hey y'all, great work on this fun little tool! I have an issue related to logins, which I hope the devs can have a look at.

I subscribed using GAuth on an email which I choose to only use on one computer for security purposes. I've been stuck only using Suno app on that computer, which is a bit frustrating.

I was able to successfully add a manual password in the app settings, but when you go to log in via browser, the only options I can see are the three app-based Auth mechanisms.

I have not for the life of me been able to see where to enter a manually set password at login, am I missing something? Thanks in advance!

It seems to be a bug that happens when we repeat a phrase in the same clip with the same phrase, it might be something about "copy" unsure, I got around it by continuing clips instead of using the chorus twice.

I have a problem where sometimes if you put words in a prompt that together are artists names but you don't use them in the artist name context then the filter blocks you from making the song: Example: a shimmering synth-pop anthem about chasing dreams under neon city lights, adrenaline pulsing with every keystroke, vocals soaring like fireworks against **t​h​e​ ​m​i​d​n​i​g​h​t​ **blue. The midnight is detected as an artist name and blocks you from making the song even if you dont use it in that context

also if you don't use custom mode and type the style that you want your song in, it generates lyrics about the genre of the song

The moderator is evaluating the entire text of anything in the custom box. Everything, including tags.
This is a problem, because it's generating false positives in the plagiarism checker. My recommendation would be to parse the tags out of the songs before checking them against the copyright system, and then evaluating the text.

I keep getting the plagiarism, inappropiate phrases, and intellectual property warnings. I generate mostly instrumentals, so there are NO lyrics. Which means nothing outside of metatags should trigger the copyright system as there IS nothing outside of brackets (no, I don't use artist or band names). I list song genres, musical instruments, parts of the song (verse, chorus and so on) and sometimes emotion in metatags ( [] brackets). (it is especially bad in the VDay system) Seeing the above it sounds like maybe what is in those tags is triggering the warnings?

I tried several times today, but the lyrics don't come out, only the music. I just ran out of credits. I speak Korean. Sometimes the lyrics come out, but more often than not they don't.

It could be due to various factors. From my experience, it partly depends on the music style you choose. For instance, if you select a style that typically features more instrumental than vocal parts, the model may have less to learn from in terms of lyrics. Also, with slower BPM styles, you often get a lengthy intro, leading to vocals starting only if you continue the clip. There are likely other influencing factors as well.
