Here's the command I used if you also have a damaged disk and want to isolate the bad sectors

sudo dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/sdb bs=16M status=progress conv=fsync

(Just change the disk path to yours)

It's even better if you use the manufacturer's tools, but I don't have them, so this will do as a workaround. I don't recommend doing this on your main storage drive.

Ye, you can recover data off a drive after 2 of these. The old dban standard for HDDs did 3 of these passes for this reason, at that point whatever you do get is garbage info. Its better on SSDs for sure

I originally paid for a full annual subscription about 2 months ago. Later, when I tried to upgrade to the Premier Plan, an error caused my subscription to be closed unexpectedly.

I waited 9 days for support to fix the issue, but it was never resolved, so I ended up purchasing another full annual plan myself. It has now been another 8 days and I still haven’t received the refund for the previous subscription.

Has anyone experienced something similar? How long did it take for your refund to arrive?

Its just a security standard, personal recovery would be impossible after a pass, pending who you passed it to and how much you paid to get the data back, and the drive itself. You are right you wouldnt need to ever worry about it
