Well - I've found that grouping things with [] (including nested ones [[],[],[]]) can help change how it gens things by letting it know certain terms are meant as one combined phrase rather than as whatever it might normally turn them into. Also, if only some things have [], they seem to get more emphasis than the things that don't.
